"Forgive me for having a heart. Hmm... I think I just made a joke." The Devil shrugged and stood up, his throne vanishing into a purple haze. "I'm not saying the guy's a big teddy bear underneath who you'll be too busy hugging to stab; I'm saying that you'll be a bit too... how should I put this gently? ...Familiar with him to truly feel any potent rage."

"Familiar?" Felix shook his head. "No. After what he's done, I don't care if I'm emotionless when I do it... I'll cut his damn head off."
"It's the only way to end this war. If we had to worry about every evildoer's life story..." Masahiro sighed.

Double D had grown uneasy, holding Marion a little closer. Somehow, he had an idea of what Diablo meant. He hoped and prayed Diablo wouldn't reveal it...
...he hoped...and prayed...

Diablo grinned. "Fine, then, Felix; if you don't care about chopping off the head of--"
"Blah-blah-BLAH."
The voice came from a teenager, leaning against the apartment wall with a bored grin on his face. His eyes darted about the room in a crazed fever as he licked his lips.
"Are you going to spend all day talking about the Wizard? I came here to play, not to get bored."
Senor Diablo groaned. "You know, you're right." He mused. "It's getting annoying, all of these people appearing out of thin air." "What're you talking about? I came in through the fire escape." The boy smiled.

"Something tells me one of us are going to lose it and try to get a lock system built in here sooner or later," Masahiro groaned as Felix pointed with shock.

"Locks are for people with something to hide." The teenager said with a sick smirk. "Besides, something as stupid as a lock couldn't stop me. In fact, it'd only make me wanna break in more."
Tapping his fingers against his cargo pants, the teenager stepped forward. "Tell me, Felix... have you killed Double D yet?"

"What kind of question is that?!" Felix asked. "Why would I kill Edward?!"
Because Felix... the voice of God spoke in his head, for him to hear and him to hear only. It is... not the Edward you know and love... yet he is being used still...
The Wizard is Edward, Felix... The Wizard is the one you love.
(That's it, isn't it?)

"Don't call him 'Edward'-- that's a dumb name." The teenager said, his face contorting into a childish pout. "See, you're already hurting him, you meany-face! Love is nothing but masochism and Stepford smiles. There's no love; it's just people too blind to see that they're killing each other... and that's awesome."
Senor Diablo glared at the teenager. "I suggest you get out of here before you ruin someone's life, Trump." He said sternly. The teenager grinned and twirled around on his foot like a demented ballerina.
"Sure thing, Mr. Spooky! I already got what I came for! I'd wanted to say hi to Double D, but whatev's!"

"I'm right here, Mr. Trump."
He needed rest, he knew that much, but he had to prevent the revealing, or at least soften the blow of it as best he could. And so he stood at the doorway to his bedroom, Marion sleeping in his arms. The soft image contrasted the serious glower on her father's face above her.
"Double D?"
"Is there something you wanted to see me for?"

Trump stopped moving-- he slowed down, as motionless as a doll.
"... Double D?"
In the blink of an eye, Trump was on him-- though, surprisingly, not in a way anyone had expected. It was an embrace-- an embrace that would crush a lesser man's bones, but the affection was certainly clear. Hopping up and down, giddy as an infant, Trump giggled madly.
"Oh, GEEZ, DOUBLE D! I thought for sure that Marco'd killed you!" Trump let go of Double D, stumbling backwards like a drunk. "That maniac'll do anything to kill the Wizard, you know! Like that'd stop him; you're not even going to turn into the Wizard yet!"
Silence. Harsh, painful silence.
"Damn." Senor Diablo muttered.

"You're..." Moments before it was revealed, Felix had already begun degenerating, his eyes wide and full of a fear, a mad fear that made him look almost horrifying and pitiful.
"F-Felix, what's the..." Masahiro began.
"You're not even going to turn into the Wizard yet."
Masahiro felt a sudden stab. No... this can't be... Double D... The legendary angel of light... He's supposed to be our greatest ally... and yet...
"YOU FUCKING LIAR" Felix screamed, more at God then the teenager. "YOU LIE! LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES! IT CAN'T BE SO! HOW CAN YOU EVEN FUCKING SAY THAT, YOU HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE BEING?! HE CAN'T TURN INTO THE WIZARD, WHAT THE FUCK MAKES YOU SAY THAT?!"
"F-Felix," Masahiro stuttered.

Double D shook at Trump's embrace, doing everything in his power to keep Marion asleep. He winced, however, at his last phrase.
Well, so much for softening the blow.
Harsh, painful silence indeed. Raz blanched, Ed lightly gasped, and Fleetfoot was completely speechless.
"W...wa... wa-wait just a mintue...!" Eddy unstably sputtered, pointing at Double D, who had averted his gaze. "You're telling me... that he's gonna... that he's the...!?"
"...forgive my bluntness, but..." Skywise ventured. "All things considered, it's not very surprising."

"Not very surprised?!" Masahiro stuttered, but had enough sense not to attack Skywise and tripped Felix up because he knew the despair-stricken angel would probably try to do so. "He's the Angel of Light... the very incarnation of purity and innocence, the incarnation of divine strength and holy will... You're telling me you're not surprised he'd become the incarnation of emotionless, cruel malevolence?!"

Skywise jumped back. "N-no, I didn't mean it like that! Only in that the Wizard has a strong intellect... that's all..."
"Well, that's the ONLY thing they got in common!" Eddy glared at Double D. "So...how long did you know, huh??"
If Eddy's accusation gave Double D any sting, he gave no outward sign, his gaze fixed out the window. "...I began assuming it after our encounter with him in the church. I had wondered why he was so obsessed with me... not me in particular, ANY me, from any dimension... how he needed me for his plans to reach fruitation...." His eyes slowly shut. "Then I considered his mysterious identity... and it didn't take me long to put two and two together."

......................
......................................
..................................................................
For anyone noticing Otto's silence, one could turn and see him, standing against the wall, listening. Trump's entrance had him on edge, given what had happened back at the Church.
And now... This...
Otto felt his eyes widen when he heard what Trump said. And when the others started to talk as if this-this... BULLSH#% was actually true, realization crossed... Why hadn't he seen it before? The Wizard's dogged determination, his intelligence, so superior that all that remained of him was his mind, stretched across time and space.
And now that he knew the truth... He could barely stand it.
For those that knew Otto better, they'd know that Otto was actually very emotional, he just hid it behind a tough guy facade, he was afraid to show emotions because of his own history...
And now, head lowered, he was grunting, trying to hold in a pain that was forming in his chest, and a pit forming in his stomach. Double D had become one of his good friends next to Wally...
And even then, in his mind formed but a single thought...
'If Double D was the Wizard'...
He peeked up to Double D, head still lowered...
'I can end this right here.'
He turned his head away, ashamed of himself for thinking such things...
Besides even if he did kill Double D, what would it solve? The Wizard would just aim for another Double D. He would ultimately solve nothing fast... And even now, shame was starting to creep into his being...
SLAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the others heard that, they would've turned to find the front door closed...
And Otto nowhere to be found.
