((OOC: Fun fact I found while researching Pika-speak.
Ion, Sync and Florian's seiyuu? FUCKING PIKACHU. FUCKING PIKACHU, MAN. Loled so hard when I found out.))
Ash looked a little confused as Prue mentioned Victory Road. He'd never heard of a place called that, and he'd certainly spent enough time in Johto he'd know about something like that... right? Ash chose to ignore the Victory Road comment and answer Prue's other question.
"To be honest, I'm not really sure myself. One minute I'm on Spear Pillar and the next I'm here..." What was concerning Ash the most was he couldn't feel Azelf anymore. Before, he'd felt the Pokemon's pain and emotions so clearly, and now, nothing.
He looked over toward Malcom. "Hey, you don't know where we are, do you?" Ash asked. By this point, Pikachu had climbed up onto Ash's shoulder like Sora had with Prue.

Malcom watched with a slightly bemused expression as the girl stood and stumbled around, nearly falling over several times. However, seeing as she could clearly stand and walk about, he doubted that she had a concussion or had sustained any serious injuries. Relieved that he wouldn't have to perform first-aid and likely carry the stranger all the way back to civillization, he stood and walked back to his forgotten pack without a word. Malcom snatched it up and carried it over to the pair he'd discovered, both of which were obviously far younger than he and new to this world. He had to wonder sometimes why he always stumbled upon this sort of problem, why the greenhorns and the lost were always thrown to him.
"I don't know what Johto, Victory Road, or Spear Pillar is. Meaning I've probably never heard of the dimension you came from.... and yes, before you ask, you heard me right. Dimension. You see, you two were dragged into a random portal and sucked here, to Dimensional Island. Happens far too often; everyone's still trying to stop that from happening so much," he explained simply. Pulling a map out of his pack, Malcom carefully unfolded it and spread it out in the grass where it was dry. He then pointed to the locations as he spoke, sapphire eyes glued to the paper. "This is Dimensional Island. That unlabeled stuff surrounding it? Void. Like an endless sea, but without the water. Don't go near it. Anyway, we're on the Southern quadrant of the island, in the Rainforest region. I was exploring the area when I stumbled across the two of you, which is a good thing, trust me. This is not the best place for a new resident to start out."

Prue had begun talking the second Ash stopped. It was what she did when she was stressed. She talked. And talked. And.... tended to talk very fast, which was what she was doing at the moment. She hadn't seemed to notice the difference in weight in her bag or that her stuff was piled neatly to the side thanks to Malcolm's efforts. The woman could only handle so much chaos at once, and what was being said was chaos enough.
"Wait, Spear Pillar? You mean where that mess occurred about a year or so back? Something about Team Galactic and Dialga and Palkia and some lunatic named Cyrus? I never met him but I had a few run in with the Galactic grunts and it wasn't fun! I heard some one handled that mess, but I never got the full details. Some kid around ten or so, I heard. I think Cynthia was there but she didn't handle the interviews well and-"
And then she paused. She'd taken maybe two breaths during that entire rant. She had paused the second Malcolm said dimension. She'd missed the first part, but she'd heard dimension loud and clear. She seemed to take a few breaths in and then started again, completely running over what Malcolm was saying and barely noticing him pull out the map.
"Wait, dimension!? Wait, does that mean somethings wrong with Palkia again!? Oh man, oh man, and I was just heading to qualify for the Johto tournament! But if Palkia caused all this, what am I supposed to do!?"
Prue had begun to flail as she continued. Sora had slipped down and grabbed onto the back of Prue's sleeved vest with her paws and was riding the woman around as she all but ran in circles. The Pachirisu seemed to be having the time of her life. Really, it looked more like she should be holding on for dear life but she was having a blast... which implied a degree of normalcy in Prue's reaction, actually.
"Chiiii~!" ("Wheee~!")

Ash really wasn't sure what to react to first there. There was the comment about the mess at Spear Pillar occurring a year ago. There was also the comment about Cynthia, which was true. And then Malcom had spoke up, and Ash's eyes had widened as Malcom said they were in a different dimension.
"We're not in our own dimension anymore?! Oh man..." Ash said. That wasn't good. That was not good. He was lost somewhere in another dimension, Sinnoh was possibly gone now, and he had no idea where Dawn and Brock were. He'd seen them get sucked into Dialga and Palkia's warp before, but what if they'd ended up somewhere else? Somewhere he couldn't get to them?
"Pika..." Pikachu gave a depressed squeak before looking toward Ash. Ash gave a small smile.
"It's okay, buddy. We'll figure something out," Ash said. He looked toward Malcom.
"So now what do we do? I don't know where to go from here," Ash stated.

Malcom watched calmly as as the female freaked out and began running in circles in a panic, while the boy named Ash panicked in a much smaller degree and then seemed to sadden. Both reactions were normal for newcomers; he himself had been both excited at the prospect of exploring somewhere new and a little upset that he would likely never see his family again. After all, what were the chances of any of his siblings getting caught in a portal as well, even if they were crazy? Leaving the map on the ground, Malcom got to his feet and walked over to the girl, standing purposefully in her path. When she crashed into him, he'd be fine, and hopefully it would knock some sense into her and calm her down.
While he waited for this to happen, he turned his sapphire gaze to Ash, shrugging his shoulders. "That depends on what you want to do. I've been stuck here for a while myself now, after a portal sucked me up back on Earth. I've never actually tried finding a way back.... but there might be one. If that's really what you want, I suppose I could show you the way back to town. Someone there will probably know," he explained simply.

(OOC: She isn't quite running in circles, she's just close. "all but" ran in circles. However, I can have Malcom be hit, I know a way how. :3)
Prue actually wasn't running in circles quite yet. She'd mostly grown out of that, although she hadn't been unknown for doing it when she was younger. She was just sort of hopping and flailing her arms. Malcom did put himself in a position, however, that meant that one of her flailing arms managed to smack him in the side of the face.
She stopped flailing and jerked her head to the side. Both her arms were drawn up against her mouth, making her a bit hard to hear, "Omigosh I'm sorry! Are you okay!?"
Now that the flailing had stopped, Sora tried to get back on Prue's shoulder. She had a bit of trouble as her back paws kept slipping on Prue's sleeved vest, but she managed to finally throw her wait forward and work her way up. Her tail was held up against her body like normal for a Pachirisu. She tilted her head sideways in an adorable fashion as Malcom spoke. Prue looked towards Ash as Malcom made his offer for a moment, before returning her gaze to the man and speaking.
"So there's a way we might get back...? I've got absolutely no sense of direction, so that would be easiest..." Prue said, giving a nervous chuckle about hte direction comment.

Ash sweatdropped when Prue ended up smacking Malcom in the face. He let Prue catch herself and Malcom explain things. A town, that was perfect.
"You can lead us to a town! That's great!" Ash said. Pikachu gave a "Pikachu!" in agreement.
He was still really worried about the others, but he couldn't do a thing about that until he found out what was going on.

There was a pleasant cracking sound as Malcom's head snapped to the side opposite of where the smack had hit, though his stoic expression didn't change a bit. He'd known such an accident was a possibility, having dealt with panicking/hyper siblings for most of his life. Such things hardly affected him anymore, and he merely blinked as he straightened his neck out with a loud snap. Malcom's cheek was red where he'd been smacked, and there might be some light bruising there tomorrow, but he didn't let it get to him. "I'm fine. Just try not to panic so easily and pay attention to what you're doing...." he answered simply.
He sighed inwardly when both newcomers stated their approval of his offer; he was glad to help, but at the same time it was annoying to have to backtrack to town so soon. Walking back over to his bag, Malcom pulled out his canteen and then kneeled beside the pool of water to fill it. "Then I suggest you gather your things together, miss. I'm Malcom, and your name would be....?" Screwing the cap back onto his canteen, he glanced over at Ash in his soaked clothing. "If you'd like, we can wait for you to dry off before leaving."

Prue blinked as Malcom asked the group's names. Hadn't she said that. She seemed lost in thought for a moment. In that time Sora looked up and waved one paw.
"Pa Chi! Pa Pachirisu!" ("I'm Sora! I'm a Pachirisu!")
Prue seemed to come out of her thoughts as Sora said that. She turned her head to look at the Pachirisu. The electric squirrel gave her a look back. Prue seemed a bit confused, but a wide smile hit her face as Sora tilted her head to the side in a confused manner. Prue looked like she was going to burst, and since no one where knew her they wouldn't realize it was a reaction to the cute. She turned back towards Malcom and pointed at herself.
"I'm Prue Eveque, and my Pachirisu is named Sora," she began to point at the Pokeballs around her waist as she spoke, going from the far left to the far right, "In this Dusk Ball is my Misdreavus, Chao. In this Great Ball is my Dewgong, Loki. This Pokeball is Sora's. In this Great Ball here is my Houndoom, Akuma. This Great Ball has my Cubone, Skeletor, and here in this Pokeball is my Gardevoir, Zelda. I'd be glad to bring any of them out if you wanna meet them! Except Akuma... he's a little... um... violent..."
Prue looked away and seemed nervous. Yeah, violent. Violent enough that he might try to cook Malcom. Worst trade she'd ever made, really. But Skeletor was so attached to him...
(OOC: Retcon on the order of Pokeballs and a change to her team to reflect how much I love my Dewgong in Soul Silver. I'll update her app soon-ish.)

Ash looked over at Prue as she introduced her Pokemon. It looked like she was one of those rare trainers who nicknamed all of her Pokemon. Ash never did, though he could understand why some people would. However, his Pokemon didn't seem to mind not having a nickname, so he was fine with leaving them nicknameless.
"My name's Ash Ketchum, and this is my partner Pikachu!" Ash said.
"Pika pikachu!" Pikachu added. Basically, "My name is Pikachu!"
"I've also got Gliscor, Grotle, Staraptor, Monferno, and Buizel with me!" Ash said, indicating the Pokeballs at his waist. They were all normal red Pokeballs, though they didn't have see-through tops.
He looked over at Malcom as he said they could wait until he dried off. "It's okay, I'm fine!" Though everything in his bag was probably soaked too. Man, he wished Brock was here.

'I just wanted to know their names, not all of their pets.... or whatever those things are. Do they expect me to remember all of those names?' Malcom wondered, listening as the two trainers rambled and pointed at the strange balls attached to their belts. He thought he'd heard some of his siblings ranting about something like this before, but he hadn't paid much attention to them and that had been a long time ago. Sighing, he dropped onto his butt in the grass and set down the canteen next to the still spread out map, sending Ash a bored look. "Okay then. Since you're obviously someone who worries more about others than himself, I'm gonna reword that sentence."
Malcom had practically monotoned that, reading the trainer like an open book but obviously not caring much about what he'd read. "We're gonna stay here and wait until your clothes and stuff dries off. Because trekking through the jungle soaked to the bone will kill you faster than running into a boa constrictor or tiger. Trust me. Also, to make the process go a little quicker, I suggest you take the soaked items off and lay them out on a rock. Just a suggestion, mind you," he continued. He leaned back against one of the few boulders surrounding the pool, folding his arms behind his head and pretty much looking past both Prue and Ash.

Prue was in the middle of getting her stuff back in the bag as Malcom spoke. For how not upset she'd seemed that the stuff had gone pretty much everywhere she was taking a lot of care to getting it back inside. She was only about halfway done when Malcom mentioned that they needed to wait for Ash to dry off. She thought about her Pokemon for a moment and shook her head. No, the only one that might be good for that would be more likely to cook Ash. A thought occured and she looked over.
"Didn't you say you have a Staraptor? Does it know any flying type moves?" She lifted her hands above her head and waved one in front of her face. It wasn't that clear, "Maybe it could use one like a blowdryer? If you had a tree to stand against or something? Monferno might help too, although that's a bit more dangerous..."

Ash looked grumpy as Malcom ordered him to dry off first before they continued on. However, he looked over toward Prue with a grin as she suggested he use Staraptor to dry him off.
"Hey, great idea!" Ash reached and grabbed Staraptor's Pokeball. "Staraptor, come on out!"
Out of the dual colored ball came a large starling with a large fringe of feathers on its head that was awesome and emo-looking at the same time. The bird was huge, most of all, though. It wasn't as big as Ash was, but it was pretty close.
"Staraptor, use Whirlwind to dry me and Pikachu off!" Ash said. The bird raised into the air and flapped its wings quickly, sending up a large gust of air. It did its job a tad bit too well, and Ash was sent flying into a tree, thankfully (or not so thankfully) getting caught on a branch by his vest.
"That was close," Ash said. He nearly got sent "blasting off."
Of course, then the branch broke. Ash ended up landing face first on the ground. Hey, at least he was dry now.
"...Pika," Pikachu groaned.

Malcom half-listened as Prue babbled about stars, raptors, and flying, wondering how on Earth that could help Ash dry off. He supposed it probably had to do with whatever dimension they came from, and those pets they'd mentioned earlier that were held in those little balls. In the end, he didn't really care how long it took Ash to dry off, he could wait all day and through the night. "Do as you will." Malcom stated, though he doubted either newcomer even heard or acknowledged his words. Closing his eyes against the harsh sunlight in this region, he tuned the others out and would have started to doze had the wind not suddenly kicked up.
Instantly, his eyes snapped open, though they remained firmly skyward and didn't even spare the giant bird or Ash a glance. Scanning the skies for a few long, tense moments, Malcom finally let out a sigh of relief and returned his gaze to the scenery spread out before him. "That was close. I thought for sure one of the rainforest's giant birds of prey was attacking," he stated, getting to his feet. Dusting himself off, he glanced over at Ash on the ground and nodded when he took note that the boy was dry now. "Right, we can go then. Though I suggest at least returning that giant bird to wherever you summoned it from. The forest is dense and hard enough for humans to get through."
Malcom gathered up his things and stuffed them into his bag, tossing it over his shoulder with ease and taking a moment to run a hand through his indigo locks. "Stay close behind me. If you need to, feel free to hold hands and grab onto my pack if you're having problems making it through the brush. Stay alert, both eyes and ears, and call out if you catch anything. Though, I'll probably catch it before you do. Follow these guidelines and your chances of survival increase by fifty percent. And before you ask, that raises your chance of survival to sixty percent."
Without another word, Malcom stepped over to the edge of the rainforest and pulled out his machete, hacking at the branches in their path while simultaneously. stomping down on tall foliage with his foot.

Well, there wasn't really any reason for Malcom to freak. Prue didn't react negatively towards the bird. When Ash went flying her eyes widened and she looked like she was going to run over to him when the branch caught him. She winced as the branch cracked and Ash hit the ground, opening one eye with a nervous expression as he got to his feet. Sora had covered her hands with her paws and lowered them around the same time Prue was sure Ash was okay. She looked over to Malcom as he issued a bunch of orders and gave him an insulted look.
"Hey, its not like we've never been outside before! We're Pokemon trainers, we travel all the time! If you're that concerned, I can bring out Zelda. I can have her focus on any emotions that would indicate an impending attack."
Ash would stand to know how that worked, as Prue had introduced Zelda as her Gardevoir. Malcom, however, would probably be confused. Or make the understandable mistake based on the name "Zelda".
