(OOC: Only myself, Mugen, and Ani for right now and probably all we're letting in due to fear of overcrowding.)
For not the first time, Ash found himself flying off of a cliff. For once, it wasn't because he was being chased by a flock of mad birds or because of Team Rocket or anything like that, but because he had been thrown rather roughly out a portal at the top of one of those ever-present cliffs with waterfalls going off of them. Those things were everywhere.
"PIIIIIIIKAAAAA!"
"Pikachu!" Ash yelled. He managed to grab the electric rat and pull it close just as they crashed into the water, sending up a fairly impressive splash. After a moment, Pikachu, on top of Ash's hat, rose up from under the water, with Ash coming up soon after.
"That was close," Ash said to Pikachu. The Pokemon gave a short "Pi" and nodded. Ash looked around before finally swimming over to shore and climbing out of the water.
Well, he was now soaked and somehow had ended up somewhere that was not Spear Pillar and possibly not even Sinnoh, based on the fact that the ever present Mt. Coronet was not ever present for once. He stood up and looked around.
"Dawn? Brock?" Ash called. After a moment, "Uxie? Azelf? Mesprit? Oh man... where are you guys?"

One could practically hear the poor trees screaming in agony as the machete sliced effortlessly through their branches, hacking away leaves and bark alike without problem. The small amount of sunlight that reached the forest floor glinted sharply off the metal, all sound made by its destruction easily overpowered by the creatures of the rainforest. Only Malcom heard the crunch of decaying foliage beneath his black hiking boots and mahogany swordstick, which he duo-wielded as a makeshift walking stick and hidden weapon. His blue locks clung to his sweaty face brought on by the long hike and humidity, but his face itself was expressionless. He had long ago tied his thin, black jacket around his waist, concealing the leather strap and machete sheath.
Rainforest travel wasn't a problem at all for Malcom, seeing as he'd done it numerous times before- including just before he'd been teleported to this strange island. He already owned half of the supplies he needed for such a trek, and had purchsed the rest before the journey with the money he'd earned doing odd jobs in the city. Finally, he could hear the sound of rushing water, and a minute later heard the roar of a waterfall. Eager to refill his canteen and take a rest, perhaps even a cool bath, Malcom hurried on until he'd finally hacked through the last bit of brush. Stepping out onto the grassy bank, he pulled in a deep breath of the slightly fresher air and let it out in a sigh.
He slid the machete back into its sheath and walked over to the pool of water, kneeling beside it eagerly. Malcom was just scrubbing at his face with some of the deliciously cool liquid when a voice reached his ears, making him freeze and whip his head around in the direction of its source. It was a boy with some kind of animal, probably his pet, and both were soaking wet. Frowning, he shook the excess water from his face and smoothed out his hair a little, dropping onto his butt and simultaneously setting his pack down. "Hey kid, what happened? Did you fall in or something?" Malcoms voice was soft and mostly monotone, though there was the slightest hint of curiosity and worry along the edges.

(OOC: Attempt at plot reboot for Prue. I really need to stop finding the need to do this. *sweatdrop*)
Prue had never cleared the Elite Four of Johto. In fact, her first trip through Johto had been... well, pretty damn abbysmal. She'd only gotten a few badges. The bad luck had probably started when she couldn't bring herself to set foot inside Bugsy's gym. Bug gym. She didn't mind bug Pokemon. One of her favorite team members in her early days had been a Butterfree. She thought Paras were cute. Scyther were intimidating, but hey, no big. No, it hadn't been the concept of bug Pokemon. It had been the concept of bee Pokemon. Even with her first Quilava, the one that had been forced into retirement by that ruling by the Pokemon Leagues of the world, she had been too damn scared to enter that gym.
She was getting rather off track here. She'd never defeated the Elite Four of Johto, and wouldn't you know it, she wouldn't be able to do so this time either. And she'd been planning on heading back to Kanto to visit her family after that, too. They were still uptight at Mt. Silver. Still wouldn't let her in without all the badges of Kanto, Johto, and proof of having defeated the Elite Four of both places. She'd explored the Cerulean Cave, Sky Tower, and Wayward Cave. She had cleared the Elite Four of Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kanto. And yet because of that one little achievement, they hadn't let her in. And so she'd headed into Victory Road... and the earthquake had hit.
Okay, that wasn't too large a deal. She had a TM with Dig, as long as she didn't get crushed by falling rocks (there sure had been a lot of them...) she could get one of her Pokemon to help her. Skeletor or Akuma would be good choices, really. She'd gotten her favorite team out to handle the Elite Four. But she hadn't had that chance, because not only had their been falling rocks, there'd been collapsing ground. A sound something like tinkling, shattering glass, and a roar later, and Sora had managed to scare herself off Prue's shoulders and into a quickly growing hole. Prue had of course dived in........ she wasn't going to face the Elite Four anytime soon.
And the lovely time delay meant what came crashing through the trees was a single female Pachirisu. Came crashing through the trees all by herself. And because any fan of the anime realizes that it's a miracle Ash's face hasn't caved in and his heart stopped, the little squirrel landed right on his head. His wet head and in a fit of surprise proceeded to Spark the poor teenager. At least he was used to that kind of thing...

Ash looked up at the sound of someone's voice. He wheeled around and found himself facing someone carrying a machete. Ash shook some of the water from his hair, causing it to regain its former shape, and replaced the hat on his head. Pikachu assumed a protective position on Ash's shoulder.
"Yeah," Ash said. "Hey, you wouldn't know where we are, would you?"
Ash really didn't get a chance to finish that sentence, because at that moment a Pachirisu landed on his head. He didn't get much of a chance to register the fact that there was a large electric squirrel on his head before he got shocked. Badly.
Thankfully, Ash had built up a bit of a resistance to electric pokemon attacks over the years, otherwise that might have been bad for him. He still ended up smoking on the ground. He hadn't been shocked like that in... well, a long time. Pikachu never did that anymore, if he could help it, anyways.
"Pika!" Pikachu had lept off of Ash's shoulder when Sora had shocked him and now had taken a very aggressive stance toward the Pachirisu. Though Ash may have made the mistake that it was Dawn's Pachirisu, Pikachu could tell the difference. Difference scent, slightly different appearance... it wasn't the Pachirisu Pikachu knew.

Malcom had been digging through his pack, looking for his canteen as Ash began to answer his question. He had just pulled the item in question out when there was the sudden sound of sizzling electricity, making his head whip up immediately. His eyes widened when he saw the boy being electrocuted by another animal on his head, instantly leaping to his feet and ripping his machete from its sheath. "I don't know what you are, but leave him alone!" Malcom shouted, eyes narrowing with the threat as he ran forward to attack the beast. However, chances were high that he'd decapitate the poor boy in the process, so it was a good thing when Ash hit the dirt.
His blade swung uselessly through the air, making him blink and turn his aquamarine gaze downward to the smoking figure he'd only just met. "Ahem. As I was saying.... leave him alone, whatever you are!" Malcom exclaimed yet again, this time swinging his machete in a downward arc in an effort to hit the creature. This time, chances were likely that he'd slice through Ash's cap as well, perhaps even a decent amount of his black hair. But hey, as long as the thing attacking him was dead, right?

(OOC: In terms of strict game mechanics, Ani, SOra is cuter than most Pachirisu. I don't know if you know about the contest mechanic, but she's got a maxed cute stat. Just to let you know. :3
Also. There will be italicized words in parenthesis under each string of Pokemon names. Characters that can understand them are Pokemon, animals, those that can understand animals, and those that can read minds. So not Ash, Prue, or Macolm. XD)
The little electric squirrel had hopped off Ash's face seconds before he hit the ground. Her eyes were wide, and she seemed very frightened. She was clearly not a baby or freshly hatched, but she did seem a bit on the naive side of things. In any case, she somehow managed to trip over her tail in mid-air and faceplant on the ground. We're talking how cute a puppy is when they can't run right, here. She'd leapt off half a second before Malcom brought his machete down... there really wasn't much time for anything else to happen before someone had to save Ash. In any case, there wasn't really a chance to respond to Pikachu.

The moment Malcom's machete started coming down, Pikachu lept into action. The syllables of its name that Pikachu were saying weren't really important, but essentially translated to "Ash!" and "Quick Attack!". The end result was that Malcom's arm ended up getting knocked away from Ash before the machete could come into contact with his hat.
Pikachu landed on the ground in the same on-all-fours position it had been in before, and his cheeks were sparking as he addressed Malcom.
"Pikapi pi-pika chu!" Pikachu growled. This essentially translated to: "Don't you touch Ash!"
Not... that anyone could understand what Pikachu was saying. Except Sora, but the poor thing was currently busy being terrified.
Ash sat up, still a bit frazzled from the shock, but he shook out of it to stand up and tell Pikachu off. "Pikachu, stand down!" He looked toward Malcom. "Hey, be careful with that! You might hurt someone!"

Malcom cursed in his head as the creature leapt out of the way, then let out a short, pained sound as Pikachu smacked his arm. He reached over and held the spot, grimacing as it throbbed a bit and knowing there would likely be a nice bruise there by evening. Hissing slightly, he switched hands with the machete and shook out the hurt arm, placing the blade back into its sheath. Malcom didn't understand a word of what the yellow animal was saying, but could tell from the way the smaller one acted that it wasn't really a threat. He frowned at the boy's words, remembering numerous instances where he had hurt someone with his machete.... all accidental, of course.
"Hmph. Just thought it was dangerous. Trying to help. You okay? That looked painful," he replied in almost a monotone. Malcom kept his eye on the two animals, just in case they tried anything, and held out a hand to the injured teenager. "I'm Malcom, by the way. And to answer your earlier question, we're in the middle of the Rainforest. Now my turn. Who are you and what are those things?" he questioned calmly. Unfortunately, he'd never been a fan of anime or even cartoons, and so had never seen Pokemon. As for the game, that was more his sister, Tara, and brother's department.

Ash wouldn't get a chance to answer directly. Sora had rolled over and maintained the comparison to a puppy as Pikachu laid into Malcolm. It took a bit of wriggling on her back to get into a sitting position, blinking a few times and looking at the Pikachu, the trainer, and the man with the now concealed shiny. She was getting on her feet when there was a very sudden crashing sound followed by a non-child female voice screaming. Sora seemed to have the best idea what was going on as she scrambled to the side just as a woman in her early to mid twenties proceeded to crash out of the branches. And that wasn't the end of it. Aside from short brown hair, hot pink bangs down to her collar bone, and her hot pink and light grey outfit, she also had a rather pale pink bag over her shoulder. It was fairly large, just a bit bigger than what a girl named Lyra was often seen with although with a slightly different style. Accents were in white. In any case, that bag was the important part because the thing popped open just as the woman hit the ground and anything and everything went anything and everywhere. Pokeballs, healing items, hold items, a Poffin case that dumped a few loaves onto the ground when it hit, a contest case that sprawled a few accesories here and there, a case of contest ribbons (quite a few, mostly pink), even a gold round stone better known as a Nugget. The girl looked like she carried way too much stuff. A pale pink PokeGear managed to pop off the hook at her waist. Sora ran off the rock she had perched on and weaved through the various items and managing to show she was far faster than she seemed. She came up beside the woman as she growned and poked her in the left cheek. "Papa?" ("Prue?")(OOC: The "a" is pronounced like in the word "Pat" for a Pahpah. Not Pawpaw. )

Pikachu finally stopped sparking, looked back at Ash, and scrambled back over to his side, finally lifting the glare from Malcom.
"I'm Ash Ketchum, and--" He didn't get the chance to finish his sentence, because at that moment, someone had started screaming from above. He looked up, and watched some adult fall from the sky. Her bag burst open upon landing, and Ash blinked at the items that had fallen out. A poffin case, a ribbon case, all of the items trainers usually used... she was a coordinator.
Ash ran over to the trainer's side once the Pachirisu (which Ash assumed was hers now) did the same. He crouched down beside her and shook her a bit.
"Are you okay?" Ash yelled.
"Pi-ka-chu?" Pikachu asked. Essentially, "Are you alright?"

Malcom only managed to get the boy's name, Ash, before there was a piercing scream from above them. He looked up in time to see a girl dropping like a stone from the sky, hitting the ground mere seconds later and sending her belongings flying from the impact. He couldn't help but roll his eyes and shake his head at how random the portals were in this place; it wasn't the first time someone had just fallen from the sky. "Good thing you didn't land on the rock...." Malcom muttered, watching as Ash went to the fallen girl's side.
Seeing as she was taken care of, he decided he might as well help gather up her things. He wandered around the small area, picking each one up with care. If anything had fallen out of a case, Malcom just placed it back in, respecting the girl's privacy. However, with each new item he picked up, he found himself more intrigued as to what they were and what their use was. "What dimension did these two come from....?" he murmured to himself.

After a few tense moments, during which the female Pachirisu seemed to actually be getting worried, the woman let out a groan. Sora jumped in surprise at the sound, as if she hadn't expected any, and then stood up on her legs and pushed both her hands down on the woman's cheeks. This time there were words, and the woman was waving her arm.
"Chao, go away..."
"Pachi chiii!" whined Sora. ("Wake uuppp!)"
Another pause and the woman jerked as if in surprise as her eyes opened. She paused for a moment, looking very confused. She pushed herself up and looked around the area, stopping when she saw the boy and a Pikachu. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Uh... this wasn't Victory Road.
"Wha.....?" She still didn't seem quite all there. She hadn't seen Malcolm yet.

Ash looked relieved as the woman woke up. "Oh, good, you're okay. You took a pretty hard fall."
Nothing worse than what he had before. She'd probably fallen about the same distance he had, probably less, but the difference was, Ash had the water to cushion his fall. This woman didn't seem to have.
It was probably a good thing Brock wasn't here. First he'd help Prue to her feet, and make sure she was alright. Then he'd hit on her, and it would end with him getting grievously injured in some way. It was a fairly regular rhythm Brock had gotten into over the years that Ash had known him.

Malcom had managed to gather up everything by the time the girl gained conciousness, setting it beside her in a small pile. He then crouched down, face expressionless as he looked her over for visible injuries. He had first-aid supplies in his pack, though he hadn't expected he'd be using them in this way. "Are you all right? Does anything feel broken? Can you see properly? Is their pressure in your head?" Malcom questioned, much the same way he had questioned Ash earlier.
He had a problem with asking too many questions at once, but it was usually out of curiosity or worry that he did so. He was especially worried that the girl had gotten a concussion from her fall, which would need to be treated immediately with the upmost care. Malcom had heard stories about bad landings; creatures splatting into pavement or skewering themselves on something sharp when they dropped out of a portal. This girl was actually lucky to have had grass beneath her rather than something harder.

The woman still seemed a bit lost as Malcolm glanced over her for injuries. She didn't seem physically hurt, just very shaken up. Her eyes even seemed a bit glazed over, and Malcolm's concerns about her condition weren't unwarranted. Then they suddenly cleared up, got very wide, and the girl was on her feet. She wasn't quite ready to be so, so she stumbled to the side and caught herself on a tree, grabbing her head as one with a headspin might. The Pachirisu ran circles around her feet, rather well dodging getting stepped on. When the woman stabilized herself with the tree the squirrel Pokemon ran up her body and took position on her shoulder, pushing down on the side of her head.
"Sora, wha...? Oh crap!" She literally jumped a bit as she turned towards Ash and then Malcolm. She hesitated on Malcolm a moment before giving an extremely embarassed smile and shaking her head, "I'm fine, I'm fine! I'm sorry!"
She turned away from both members of the group and checked the six pokeballs at her waist. To Malcolm, they'd probably seem like mutated fishing lures. From her far left to her right, three on either side of her belt, was a Dusk Ball, two Great Balls, two Poke Balls, and a Lure Ball. They were all minimized in the manner Ash would be used to seeing Pokeballs. She looked at the small round objects closely as if inspecting them for something and then looked up at the two people near her with a look of utter confusion.
"Ah... do either of you have any idea where I'm at...? Last thing I knew, I was on Johto's Victory Road..."
The Pachirisu sniffed the air, "Pachi! Chi Chiii... Paachi~!" ("Not here! Smells like... Safari Zone~!"))
