Ellie slammed her fist against a tree, startling Canary, who was sleeping. "That's bullcrap!"
There was a furious light in her eyes. "You're expecting me to believe that humans are all bastards who want to catch you because you're a half-pokemon, because it would be something cool to have, never mind that you're still half pokemon! You're the real monster here!"
She pointed her unsheathed claws at Ash. "You don't give humans a chance! You've pushed away everyone! You didn't bother trying to make up with Misty, you left May alone, you left Dawn alone, and all you care about is your fucking harem of pokemon! You're not the boy I looked up to in elementary school! You're just a half-breed who's too absorbed in the non-human part of himself to realize that there's a life beyond being a fucking Lugia!"
By now, she was getting loud enough to wake anything that would possibly be sleeping nearby, and possibly alerting the world to her presence.

"I'm still a human!" Ash shouted back "I don't want anyone to be hurt because of me." He continued. "not all humans are like that, i still have friends, but your show probably didn't tell you this, normally i leave every one behind. when i go onto my next adventure. I had been hoping to meet the others, and i told you i tried to repair the schism that meant trying to make up with misty. and on top of that, I'm the Chosen one, i'm supposed to find a way to bring balance to our world, who knows bring back the old ways. how can i do that, if i'm too caught up being a lugia?" Ash looked Ellie in the Eye "I can't."

"Then screw being the Chosen One! People have done it before!" Ellie yelled. "People can move on, dammit! Things don't need to be the way they were before!"
She sheathed her claws, realizing that the constant attacks had torn threads in the sleeves so that they were barely hanging on.
"But fine. Keep being emo. Keep being your damn emo shapeshifting self. Never mind that prophecies are just one of many futures. But fine," Ellie said, and turned to leave. "Go be a fucking Lugia. I'll see you on the GPS someday."
She had learned the "many futures" thing recently from a boy with green hair.

Ash darted forward raised his hand and brought it down with the intent to slap Ellie across the face he was livid. "To you i may be Emo, but on your show did i ever hurt my friends? if one of my pokemon was hurt, would i go to the ends of the earth to help them? would i sacrifice my life for any pokemon? The prophecies May only be one path in destiny but for once, i don't care, i was scared the first time when i had to save the world from the rage of Articuno, moltres, and zapdos. I'm sick of it, all i want to do is settle down, become the pokemon master, and have childeren with the ones i love." Ash sighed. But you don't care do you?" he asked. "You accuse me of being selfish, but the moment you saw me become my human form, the form i prefer to spend time in, you didn't care one bit that i was trying to talk to you, all you wanted was me dead. never mind that it would leave My mates devastated, My friends devastated, My Parents in wreaks, my pokemon would probably Die for we are so close." Ash shouted. "And i wouldn't have the chance to fix anything, to for-fill my dreams. NOTHING!"

Ellie reacted in kind by kicking Ash in the stomach to knock him away.
"You shapeshifted in front of me! My bird thought you were a threat! What was I supposed to think!? My home was destroyed by shapeshifting monsters who took the forms of people we loved to confuse us long enough to kill us. How did I know they weren't taking your form so they could kill me?!" Ellie yelled back. Behind her glasses, there were tears streaming down her face.
"And at least you still have a chance to fufill your dreams! You know what I wanted to do? I wanted to become a programmer! But then a bunch of damn shapeshifters had to take over my home, and you know what? Now I'm considered a crimminal, and if I'm seen by anyone, monster or human, they try to capture me! All because I wouldn't give up my damn bird! And it hasn't gotten any better on this island either, because this is their homeland! I'm having to look around every corner to make sure I'm not being followed! I'm always worrying about Jack and Phyllip back home, but I can't do a thing about it, because the Doppelgangers have control over the portals. They don't have canaries either, so the Doppelgangers are probably killing them right now. Or worse!" Ellie yelled even louder. "You have no idea what I'm having to go through! So don't talk to me about me being selfish, you stupid has-been hero!"

Ash slid back but stood up strait. "Now how's being Emo? i still carry hope, yeah, i have problems, but i'm still standing tall." The Pokemon trainer glared at Ellie. "You followed your heart, you're still alive you can still fight, you can still find your friends, you're still alive, yet you act like that's a curse!" Ash took a moment to breath. "and i'm no hero. i'm just a kid, a teen but still a kid, who only wants his friends and loved ones to be safe." he finished quietly.

Ellie's expression twitched a little bit.
"I haven't seen my friends since I got to this damn island. And we're not even friends. We're just people brought together by a common hardship. And you'd lose the will to live after what I went through too. At least I still have all of my limbs. Jack's missing an eye now. Phyllip lost an arm fighting a Doppelganger. Marie died in front of me because I couldn't save her. This isn't 'following my heart.' This is trying to avoid becoming the next sheep to the slaughter," Ellie said. "All I want is to be normal again."

"Maybe i would, but i'm not you," ash turned and knelt down, gently scratching Yellow behind the ears. " But you're still alive, so you should have hope. maybe it'll be you how discovers what these doppelgangers are weak to, and turn it against them." He paused. "I've been told that i've been killed before, trying to save pokemon from fighting to the death, but i have no memory of that. but i know, that even if the reaper is waiting for my well before i'm old, and my dreams are for-filled. I'm going to meet him head on, not cower in fear."

Ellie's face twitched again, like there was something she wanted to say, but wasn't for fear of something. Instead, she looked Ash right in the eye.
"I'm not going to sacrifice myself for some cause. I don't have a hero complex. Yeah, I want to defeat the Doppelgangers, but I'm not going to die for it. I want to live. No matter what. But I know that I'm probably gonna die young. So shut your inspirational bullshit. And shut up about 'hope.' I'm being realistic. Unlike you," Ellie said.

Ellie twitched and stepped backwards. That comment had caused a completely different effect than Ash had probably intended.
"How do I know you're not lying?!" Ellie said. "I'm not going to fight forever! I know what's happened to all of the other universes they've conquered! They feed on the lifeforces of the humans there, and they use what humans are left as slaves! My home's almost at that point too! All they have to do is find the resistance and finally make canaries extinct, and then they'll have complete control!"

Ellie backed away again. "Stop looking into my mind!" She had now gone into the "defense mode", as one could call it, she'd unconciously developed to deal with suspected doppelgangers, even if Ash wasn't one. She had become paranoid, and could possibly get very violent.
