She told me my sister went through a dimensional rift... But she's... she's dead... Why did she lie to me? Anna wiped the tears from her eyes and picked herself up from the position she was in. There's no use crying about it... But who would be so heartless? My poor sister... I wish... I wish I could've met her. And so the tears started again. Why... Why did she have to go before I could... Calm down Anna. If you don't, you'll end up like Mom... Killing yourself, even if there's no one to be in front of... I will not end up like Mom... Ever. She fell against the tree again and tried to calm down, tried to stop the tears, even though it seemed hopeless.

Jeff wandered through the woods. He wasn't sure why but he wanted to get away from the crowded city. Plus he did enjoy examining the flora and fauna of the strange island, seeing if he could discover new species and record them. Then he heard a sound, it sounded like crying. He quietly peeked around a tree to see a Anna up against a tree. He wasn't sure what to do at first and he just stood there for a moment, then decided to see what was up. He wasn't sure what compelled him too because he had no clue who this was but he approached her nonetheless.
"Um...ex-excuse me, are you alright?" he asked.

Anna looked up at Jeff and frowned. "W-Who are you?" she asked. Her tears were now stopping, but traces of them could still be found. She was honestly a little shy around new people, but she was too upset to care. Company was company and she could use a little company at the moment.

Anna giggled at the shakiness. The laughter was like a ray of light in her darkness. What a strange boy, she thought. "A-Anna," she said. The shakiness of her crying caught onto her voice.

"Oh, okay, s-sorry..." Jeff shakily replied. He was getting really nervous. His hands were numb, he was shakey, he was sweating a bit and he wasn't sure what it was. What was it about this girl? "S-so, what do you like to um...what do you like to do?"
Wow! Stupid Jeff, what a dumb question! he thought, wanting to slap himself in the face.

"I've n-never realy had any hobbies... I've u-usually just done schoolwork," Anna replied. Then she looked away and turned red. Why did he want to know about what she did? Wasn't that personal? It may not have been too personal, but still...

Anna thought about it for a second. It didn't seem too suspicious. In fact, it was almost a very sweet gesture. It would also prove an escape from the past. "O-Ok," she said and stood up to follow him.
