Unfathomable Cruelty (NN1)

Marth glared suspisciously at Yoko as he helped Terra back to his feet. "What exactly is this whole business with 'Wizard Hunters,' anyway? To what end are you attacking the likes of us?"

[Felix Falora]

"Wizard Hunters came about after our world was taken over by the Wizard," Yoko said, holding his hand out. A visual of a gray planet showed in it and suddenly the entire world seemed to change. Though it was just an illusion, Terra and Marth would find themselves in a barren wasteland, smelling what seemed to be brimstone and hearing screaming. If they looked behind them, they could see a village burning. "Many gave up hope and began to follow the Wizard. It was nearly the same for every world, so I've heard. Yet there were others, such as my village, who would rebel against the Wizard... or at least try. But can one ever rebel against a dark diety such as that?"

Marth's suspicion began to wane as he gaze at their surroundings in shock. Things began to make a little more sense...

"I... I see..." he replied softly, clearing his throat. "...but that still doesn't explain why we were attacked by this necromancer." He paused. "...unless the boy he mentioned has something to do with the Wizard."

(assuming here they don't know the identity of the Wizard yet. I'd imagine the group wouldn't tell just ANYone.)

[Felix Falora]

Yoko smirked softly. "Well let's just say that this daemon only lusted for destruction. Why else would you choose to raise the dead? He was probably insane. I don't know what connects you and that boy and I don't know much about that boy myself. We're hunting the Wizard, not a high school kid."

Marth grew confused at this. "Odd, considering the necromancer mentioned a young boy, saying that anyone who was accociated with him deserved death or some nonsense."

(d'oh! Marth! You're blowing their cover! XD)

[Felix Falora]

"As I said before, he was a madman. But did he tell you the identity of the Wizard? Curses... it seems the entire world will know before the end. We hunt the Wizard, but this child is targeted by him. He is not to be the Wizard, however. Instead, the Wizard wants to make use of his... abilities." Yoko smirked. "The Wizard is one of the most powerful psychics in the universe, but I'm no slouch myself. The plan isn't to kill this child, Edward, but rather to keep him from having a baby conceived within his own angelic womb."

Marth blinked. Was that even possible? He shook his head, letting it go. "Ahh... I see. That seems more reasonable; they already have a child, after all."

[Felix Falora]

"The girl is an unimportant factor to the Wizard's plan, unless the Wizard has blocked that part of his plan from psychic viewing. Nevertheless, the Wizard wants to make use of this child's birthing abilities. There must be some way to keep that from happening."

Marth cocked his head. "Is there a way we could inform the boy? He trusts us; if you have any information they don't know already, we could pass it on to him for you."

[Felix Falora]

".. You could try... just try to tell him," Yoko said. "Warn him of what the Wizard wants to do...but I have a feeling he won't believe you. He'll think you mean best, but he'll think there's no way."

"...we'll do our best," Marth promised. Surely the child would listen to reason... wouldn't he?

[Felix Falora]

"We can at least try," Terra said.

With that, Marth bowed to Yoko in respect, nodding to Terra. "Let's hurry, then, shall we? If you don't have any more business here, at least.."

Terra looks at Shizune's grave and feels a sudden stab of pain. He was destroyed... forever... along with the others. Resisting the urge to scream, he offered Marth a silent shaking of the head before walking away from the graveyard.
