I am so tired of hearing this... every goddamn time we make a mistake, other countries feel like they simply HAVE to critisize us even more. 'Cause, y'know, we have to be constantly reminded of how stupid we are.
"America sucks, Americans are stupid and fat and greedy and ignorant and hate anyone outside their country and don't want health care and don't care about anyone OR each other and beat immigrants and get sick off their own fat and alright already!!![/b]
Well, excuse the hell out of me for living in a country where I have a future, where I can express my opinion without fearing for my life. Excuse the hell out of me for being a proud American who gets emotional during national anthems at sporting events. Excuse the hell out of me for loving cheeseburgers and 4th of July fireworks and Hollywood and Obama.
Enough's enough. GodDAMmit.
We're not fucking perfect, but that doesn't mean we have to be the butt of every one of your jokes. It hurts the majority of us who have NOTHING TO DO with the problems of our country.
I'm sorry for being a patriotic, confident, optimistic American in a world of negativity and hatred. I'm sorry for loving where I live and calling it home sweet home. If that really bothers you so much, well then you have your own issues you need to work out. Let us take care of ours, thank you.

And while you're living in this hellhole, I'll be finding a way to move up to Canada.
Ok, maybe it's just my state, I'll admit it. Maybe it's just Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida... It sure as Hell is Texas. Maybe it's the South that needs to burn with its close-minded bigotry and maybe your state is like a Paradise for all open-minded individuals (it does have San Francisco in it, Proposition 8 or no), but from what I've seen, I cannot be offended because every single offense people like this make... is absolutely correct.
I've stopped caring about their insults. How can one be offended about the truth? Why should it hurt someone if they know that it's right? It's not the same as coming up to you personally and telling you, "You're obsese, you're retarded, your mom's a whore, your dad's a drunkard, kill yourself." That's offensive, that hurts. Talking about a country? The only people who would get insulted about a country being talked about need to seriously cool down for a minute. Yeah, the people may get thrown in there and they may try to generalize, but considering statistics, there's no need to get so hurt about it because let's face it... it's the truth.
We should just ignore the other countries and go on living life in a pleasent manner. They want us to hurt because they want us to be just like them. They're jealous and butthurt that their own cultures suck, that people in their country wish they could be American, and that they can't do anything right on their own. If you love this country, then just ignore the worse-off countries trying to make ours look bad.
If, on the other hand, you hate this country the same way I do... Canada is still an option.

I DON'T hate America, though. And not everyone in the South is hateful, either. I know an old man, Lousiana-raised, as gay as they come. He's so fun. ^^
I understand that the stereotype is backed by fact. All stereotypes are. But the joke's getting old. And when I personally get dissed and not taken seriously for being an American, MUCH less a liberal Californian, that bothers me immensely, like "oh, her opinion doesn't matter, she's a stupid American who doesn't know jack shit."
But as appealing as Canada sounds, what kind of person would that make me if I forsaken my home? It takes a stronger person to climb through the muck for something they care for, perhaps even do their best to improve it. This talk of "oh, one person doesn't count" is utter bullshit when you hear the stories I hear.
If anything, I'm staying for my family, and for the fact that I am BORN a US Citizen and will DIE a US Citizen.

Well I look at it this way... You can either ignore them or hunt them down and kill them, and as killing them might lead to war, ignoring them is the better choice.
I'm not even saying America sucks right now, despite my taste of it, I'm literally saying that there's no reason to pay these other countries any mind because our country is better then theirs (even if it sucks) and their just butthurt over that fact. So why worry about them when they make America the butt of their jokes? They just wish they could be American, but they can't.
