Full Name: Tina (Nicknamed Terra) Branford
Nicknames: None known
Age: 18
Height: 5 foot 7
Weight: Not telling
Gender: Female
Race: Half human/Esper
Alliance: Good
Home: Born in the Esper World, raised in the Empire city of Vector
Franchise: Final Fantasy VI
Physical Description: She’s a pretty young woman with green hair pulled into a pony tail, with red blouse and skirt, flowered white leggings, and a purple pink cloak with the same flowered design as her leggings.
Weapons: She CAN use knives and swords, but magic is her true forte.
Abilities/Powers: Since she’s Half-Esper, she’s been trained by the other Espers to use a wide variety of magic. Along with this however, she can also morph into her esper form, further strengthening her already powerful magical potential.
Skills: None really known.
Personality: As a person, Terra is a very confused young woman. She often questions her emotions, or lack thereof, and early in Final Fantasy VI is easily confused and frightened. However, as Terra learns more about herself, she becomes more assertive and determined. Once she learns her true past, she is insecure about her unique heritage and questions if she can feel love. In the end, however, Terra is very brave and willing to fight for what she knows is right, especially in the second part of the game where she rejoins the party to help make the world a better place for others.
History: Terra was born in the Land of Espers, to an Esper father (Maduin) and a human mother (Madeline). Two years after she was born, the Gestahlian Empire raided the Land of Espers and abducted Maduin. Madeline, with her last breath, told the Emperor Gestahl to keep away from her daughter; however, it was too late. Terra grew up in the custody of the Empire, and was raised as a weapon of mass destruction. The exact details of this part of her life are unknown, but she developed a fondness for Moogles during this time, and enjoyed fluffing their fur. Eventually, the Imperial general Kefka Palazzo took a keen interest in her and put a Slave Crown on her head, forcing her to obey Kefka's orders directly. Among them was to annihilate fifty of the Empire's finest soldiers, which she did with ease. Presumably this was a test of her loyalty and/or her ability to do so.
Sixteen years after the raid on the Land of Espers, Terra was assigned on a mission to Narshe, accompanied by two Imperial troopers: Biggs and Wedge. The mission was to do research on, and retrieve, the frozen Esper that was lying in the mines. The trio succeeded in reaching the Esper, but the sheer power of the Esper removed Biggs and Wedge from the area and knocked Terra clean out cold. Despite this, she had a bad case of amnesia. She was rescued by Arvis, a resident of Narshe, who removed the slave crown and nursed her back to health. However, the local police knew of her location and wanted her in custody due to her former control by the Empire. Arvis helped Terra escape, but the guards caught up to her in the mines. This forced Locke Cole to rescue her, along with eleven Moogles. They succeeded, and Locke took Terra away to Figaro.
Meanwhile, Kefka was worried that his weapon was taken away. He headed to Figaro (where Terra was being hidden by the king, Edgar Roni Figaro, and Locke), to ask about her whereabouts. Edgar lied and said he never knew of her. This did not stop Kefka from attempting to burn the castle down. Terra, Locke, and Edgar managed to escape riding Chocobos, while the Castle submerged under the desert. Edgar and Locke, knowing of Terra's power, took her to the Returner Hideout in the Sabre Mountains, where Terra met Edgar's twin brother, Sabin Rene Figaro. After passing the Sabre Mountains, the party met up with the leader of the Returners, Banon, who tried to convince Terra to join their cause. He did not want to force Terra to do so, because, as Edgar said, forcing her would make them "no different from the Empire", making her decision completely hers. Depending upon the player's actions, Terra eventually agrees to join. Banon then invited Terra to come to Narshe with him, Edgar and Sabin, and she accepted. On the way, the foursome was attacked by Ultros, an octopus inhabitant of the Lethe River. During the battle, Ultros latched onto Terra's leg using a tentacle, and while Edgar pulls Terra away, Sabin tries fighting it off with a Blitz. However, during the struggle, Sabin was thrown from the raft, and Terra, Edgar, and Banon had to reach Narshe alone. They eventually did so, and had to trek back through the mines to meet up with Arvis (the local police did not want Terra or the Returners in town).
Thereafter, everyone met up in Narshe. The Empire was staging an attack in order to get the Esper again, this time led by Kefka. Banon led the defense, which Terra participated in. The defense eventually won and Kefka was forced to retreat. After the battle, the group went to see the Esper, which reacted with Terra again. This time, Terra was transformed into an Esper, and flew away to a place unknown.

Sometime after the first adventure in her own world, Terra was, somehow or another, called into an unknown alternate dimension. Upon first arriving, it’s hinted that Terra was enslaved once more by a revived Kefka, before she broke free and became one of the Warriors of Cosmos; though this doesn’t stop Kefka from wanting his weapon BACK.
In Destiny Odyssey III, Terra travels with Onion Knight in search of the crystals, and Onion Knight acts as a "guardian" for Terra, but this is proven wrong when Exdeath tries to attack them, making Onion Knight a coward. Terra does not mind this, and they continue their adventure. But problems occur when Terra loses control of her Esper form and accidentally attacks the Onion Knight, forcing him to fight her in order to defend himself. Onion Knight eventually calms her, but this was just a trick of the Cloud of Darkness who then kidnaps a weak Terra. Onion Knight comes to the rescue and finds a weak Terra with Cloud of Darkness. Onion Knight engages in battle with Cloud of Darkness and eventually defeats her, gaining his crystal. Terra wakes up from her slumber and tries to stand up, but she is too weak to even move and tries to sleep again. Onion Knight, now happy, waits until she is strong again, sitting next to her.
In Destiny Odyssey VI, Terra travels with fellow hero, the Onion Knight. Although the Onion Knight assures her that he will protect her, Terra has amnesia regarding her battle with the Onion Knight, and wonders why she lost her memories and why she was asleep afterward. However, the Onion Knight does not tell her the truth (deciding not to tell her that she had attacked him earlier). As Golbez told him, the Onion Knight tells Terra that the Crystal will only shine for Terra when she displays her most powerful feelings. Until that happens, Terra resolves to continue onward.
Kefka appears before the two, and taunts Terra with her lost memories, alluding to her earlier attack on Onion Knight and how destructive she was. Terra refuses to believe him, and the Onion Knight attacks Kefka. The Onion Knight teleports them both away, leaving Terra to continue onward alone. She later encounters Cloud Strife, who had just defeated his enemy Sephiroth, just as her power begins to overwhelm her again. Cloud steps in to battle Terra and provide an outlet for her strength to help her regain control of her actions. After the battle Terra thanks him, though Cloud rejects her thanks because he did not see any proof that what he did really helped. In turn, Terra helps him by assuring him that he really did help her. Cloud then thanks her for helping him realize that he can help others, so he decides to join Terra to search for the Onion Knight.
Along the way, Cloud presents Terra with Firion's rose (which he had just retrieved from Sephiroth), representing his dream of a free world that is completely at peace. He tells her that Firion fights hard for this dream, and that he, Cloud, has lost his. When asked what sort of dream she fights for, Terra admits she has never thought about the future because she was afraid of what that future might bring. However, she begins to hope for a world where dreams like Firion's could come true, and "all sorts of flowers can bloom", another play on the metaphor symbolized by Firion's rose - a world where anyone's dream could come true, and asks Cloud if he can share that dream with her. Cloud also begins to feel the same way, and in turn, realizes his own dream as well. He states that dreams like the one he wants to regain do not come easily, but nonetheless are still worth fighting for, so both he and Terra resolve to persevere through the battle to turn those dreams into realities.
After some more journeying, the two finally confront Kefka, who again tempts Terra to give into her powers and join him in causing destruction. However, Terra again rebukes his claims, having found the will to fight to protect and for hope, and she says that no matter what happens to her regarding her power, she will not lose sight of that. Kefka is enraged by her refusal to join him, and the Cloud of Darkness ambushes them and attacks Cloud, who pulls out his sword, ready to defend Terra. The Onion Knight then reappears, and he and Cloud fight the Cloud of Darkness together, while Terra fights Kefka. Initially fleeing from his attacks, Terra stops running, fights and defeats him. Relieved that Kefka is gone, and both the Onion Knight and Cloud are safe, Terra's Crystal appears. She then departs with her two allies, having learned to control her powers, and now believing that even if dreams are trivial, they can still give their holder strength, and the power to make that dream a reality.
