Minato glared at the three as they walked down the hall, and closed the door behind him. He didn't want to deal with the King of Bel and his court any more than he had to. He'd been K1's friend once, but Abel was way different from the K1 he'd known.
He continued looking forward until they passed by two people who were leaving their apartment. He stopped and turned around. He looked pained as he realized who they were. Adachi and Bakura. Bakura looked like he'd had a rather bad fight with a meat grinder and lost. And he... still had that scar.
"I'm sorry," Abel said before turning around and continuing to walk. Adachi glared at Abel as he walked. He hadn't expected the apology, though.
"Ryou, are you sure you don't need my help to walk?" Adachi asked.

Bakura had managed to miss the presence of the three in the hall when he'd come out. He was stopping for a rest, almost all his weight on the wall and his hand covering his face. He'd seemed to tense at the footsteps, which was pretty impressive considering known of Abel's group were making much in the way of noise as they walked. Adachi was behind Bakura when Abel passed, and there was a look of glaring recognition for half a moment before Bakura flinched and almost fell as he scooted into the back wall.
It had only been for a moment, but the two that would be able to see it would be unlikely to miss it. Cain had paused, narrowed his eyes, and then smirked as if he'd just seen the most amusing thing in the entire world. He looked towards Abel, knowing his brother would have to be damn torn up to miss the expression. Even if he'd missed that, the white haired teenager wouldn't be giving off the expected type of emotion. Cain spoke in a low voice, sure Adachi couldn't hear and not caring if the teenager did.
"It's not our problem," he gestured for Abel to continue and made to do so himself.
Bakura didn't answer Adachi, seeming to be quite distracted by Abel. Kaido had let out an annoyed sigh at the simply closed door and trotted to catch up with the other two.

Abel blinked at Bakura's face. That was different. And he wasn't getting the emotion he expected from Bakura. He hadn't missed it, and now he was confused. He blinked for another moment before Cain told him it wasn't their problem, and he nodded before continuing to walk. He guessed it wasn't. But even still...
"Ryou?" Adachi repeated.

Bakura stared after the three as they left. He'd tensed up a bit, but he relaxed when they were gone. He hesitated for a moment before turning towards Adachi. He seemed very concerned about something, but he coughed again. A bit of blood again. He took in a deep breath and nodded.
"If... it's not too much trouble..." he muttered.
-----
Cain didn't speak again until they were outside. Until after he'd guided the group into the alley. Kaido still seemed a bit miffed, but he had the sense to keep his mouth shut. Cain turned towards Abel.
"You didn't sense the Ring, correct?" He seemed rather amused.

Adachi gave another pained smile. He bent down a bit due to how Bakura was hunched over, and allowed Bakura to put his arm around his shoulder. He could help him walk that way.
--------------
Abel nodded. "The only people I sensed were Minato, Bakura, and Adachi. I would have sensed a dark artifact like the Ring immediately."
He had a feeling where Cain was going. He'd specifically brought up the Ring, after all...

"I'll give the man credit for deception," Cain smirked, "That's Anpu, and I have little doubt Adachi's done something to the Ring withotu realizing who the dominant personality was. Anpu likes the measure of protection Bakura's body gives him, so I'm suspecting that his condition is a result of getting the Ring to Adachi in the first place."
"In any case, I can't get the program to go through again. I'd say it doesn't guarantee we're trapped, but the Death Clocks are hard to ignore. I think at most, you'd be able to get yourself out if you could get a better handle on your potential powers. If you get the chance, do it. There is no need to forfeit the war for Seth or the others," Cain stated, knowing he was speaking in a way that might be considered over his bounds.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Kaido growled, "Don't tell him to just leave us to die!" -----
Adachi and Bakura would get out in a few minutes thanks to Adachi's help. Even if Abel and the two members of his court were still there, they wouldn't notice them. Cain had positioned them carefully aware of where "Bakura" and Adachi were headed.

Had it been any other time before the King of Bel's court had come to the island, Cain might have been physically reprimanded for saying something like that. But considering Abel's mindset and recent events, he found himself agreeing with Cain. He looked toward Kaido.
"It might be the only way," Abel said. "Besides, I don't see why you're complaining. You're the most expendable out of all of us. Your skills amount to beating things up and torture, and we already have plenty of that. If I have to choose who to leave behind, I already knew who I will."
That had been a fair bit cold and probably more than a tad bit uncalled for, but Abel really didn't care. He didn't want to leave anyone behind to die, but at least one of them would be back in a few years anyways. And he was sure he had the knowledge to get himself off the island...
Didn't mean he wouldn't feel bad about it afterwards.

One could almost see the veins pop out on Kaido's head. He opened his mouth, and Cain read the body language of taking a step forward. He kept his standard smirk as he stepped back, but Kaido seemed to gain an iota of sense and stopped. He grumbled a series of expletives under his breath and stepped back. He crossed his arms and continued to mumble, but he'd dropped the aggression. Cain only spoke once it was clear Kaido backed down.
"Ideally, it won't come to that. There's a chance we're being tricked into acting in the name of fate. Abel, have you sensed anything out of the ordinary lately?"
He was very specific with the enunciation. He meant for Abel to mention things he wouldn't normally mention, either. Cain had another route to go, but he wanted to see if the demon in the group had picked up on anything he could use to expand his theory with.

Abel thought back. Yeah, he had. That morning, around the time when the island had gotten sealed off, he'd thought he'd sensed some sort of demonic energy, but only around the island itself. It had seemed off, and it had only been for about a second. When he'd gotten to the ITS, it seemed the panic had already started, though apparently the technicians had managed to fix things.
He nodded. "I felt some faint demonic energy move through the void around the island. Atsuro sent me a mail earlier, too. He said that he thinks Laplace's Demon was the one who trapped us here."
Abel hadn't thought Laplace's Demon was an actual demon, but then again, if Cthulhu and Christine were...

"It won't allow us to see it unless "fate" tells it to. The knowledge does us no good," Cain opened his COMP, "Considering the number of things that happen in this world, its likely this Xiu person is set to effect us in some manner. We may be reacting to so-called fate, but I suggest we look into her."
He'd said her, which probably confused Abel. It confused Kaido, in any case. It wasn't like either of them knew it was most commonly a female name in China. Cain frowned and looked annoyed.
"I can't justify any reasonings for why she might be related to us, but I have my suspicions. Do you want to look into it yourself?"
-----
Bakura and Adachi finally got outside. Bakura's condition hadn't worsened, but he'd probably need help to get into any cab that was flagged.

Abel did look a bit confused at Cain's deduction that this "Xiu" was female, but he let his brother talk.
"I guess so," Abel said. He thought about something for a moment. Hadn't the mail mentioned living dolls? And hadn't Himitsu had that one doll with the lightning key following her around for the longest time? "Hey, does Xiu Zhou mean anything in Chinese?"
---------------
Adachi looked around for a moment before finally managing to hail a cab. The cab pulled up, and Adachi looked over at Bakura. "Do you need help getting in?"

(OOC: I don't know how well I'm going to "unserious" Cain. XD Feel free to throw any suggestions my way. XD)
Cain smiled, which to most of the world read as a smirk. Abel had realized it, then.
"It doesn't mean 'Reincarnation of a Secret' or anything of the sort if that's what you're asking," he stated.
Kaido looked up, glancing between the two brothers. So there was actually a bit of forethought, "What does that have to do with anything? Reincarnation of a secret, are you high?"
-----
"You need me to get 'im to a 'ospital, right?" The cab driver looked at Bakura and winced, "'e'd be better off at the one in town..."
Bakura looked away from Adachi with a pained expression, "I'm not completely helpless...."
He wobbled a bit as he pulled his arm from around Adachi's neck. The driver had opened the door already, proving the mechanical nature of the doors. He didn't say anything as the white haired teenager pretty much guided his fall in. Bakura coughed again, but he concealed his hand from both the driver and Adachi after lowering it. The driver's face was flooded with concern. Man, what the hell had messed that kid up so bad?
(OOC: Considering Bel-tachi are speaking Japanese, both "secret" would be Himitsu. Ah, the fun of a punishing name. XD I think Tensei means reincarnation, or so says the common translation of Shin Megami Tensei. *shot*
I'm going to ask NN1 to make the new board now, with my suggestions. =D)

Abel shot Kaido a glare. The man should really learn to keep his mouth shut. Without changing his expression, Abel said, "I think Himitsu's still alive. She accepted that death a little too well in my opinion."
He looked toward Cain. "Do you think it's possible Himitsu has reincarnated or something like that?"
-----------
Adachi climbed in after Bakura, still looking very concerned.
"Yeah, well, last I heard, the place was a smoking pile of ashes, so it wouldn't be much help to go there, huh?" Adachi sounded more than a tad bit angry toward the end of that. "Just take us to a hospital. Ryou's seriously hurt here!"

Kaido glared back for a moment before breaking eye contact. It hadn't been too bad dealing with the state the world had been in back in that world. Hell, he'd probably have dealt with Abel's little insult to his abilities there better too. But they were here, and it was boring. Abel even got uptight if he used his demons in public here. What the hell good was power if you couldn't use it? And if he did balk, he quite literally wouldn't be able to use it. Abel would remove the demon summoning functions from his COMP.
Cain gave an elaborate shrug. The years he and Abel had been together made it clear he was confirming Abel's suspicion, "Is it that important to know?"
By now he was just leading Abel along. Due to his increased perception of this brother thanks to dropping his illusion about how great the man was, Abel would probably be more than aware of it. Hell, he was pretty good at being able to tell before then. Cain was still smiling, and he glanced at Kaido a bit. Kaido glared at him. Damn it, he'd shown enough ground today. Cain didn't seem to care.
-----
The man opened his mouth to argue, but he closed it. Looped around his rearview mirror was a St. Christopher medal. He gave it a glance as he turned around, having decided against whatever argument he was going to give. He could argue all he wanted, but the kid was in pretty bad shape. He'd given a silent prayer for a safe trip, made sure both of his passengers were in, and then slammed his foot onto the gas. The car actually left a bit of rubber on the ground as it pulled away, leaving a bit of wonder as to what was under his hood...
Bakura jerked a bit at the sudden way it pulled away, grabbing the side of the door. After a few seconds he relaxed his grip and relaxed generally his whole body. He closed his eyes and his breathing would be audibly ragged. This was close, he had to admit. He didn't like relying on others like this, but...
(OOC: Want me to jump the the hospital thread? We're going to pretend NN1 made the new boards, I can move it later. XD)

Abel was well aware Cain was just leading him on. Didn't stop him from answering his older brother's question. "I think it might be. If she is still alive, she might some important information we could use. Like how we can get the rest of you off of this island."
The demon in Abel (however faint it was at the moment) probably could get himself off the island should it come to it. The others? He wasn't sure. Transporting people between dimensions was highly tiring for him, and he'd be working against whatever had sealed the island off if he tried taking anyone besides himself out through the Summoning Server.
And there was another ulterior motive Abel wanted to see her, one that he wouldn't admit to Cain or Kaido. He was sure Cain already knew.
