Some of you may have seen my complaints in the cBox about certain dA art policy changes. Well, Felix suggested if it bothers me I don't just complain about it. I took the advice, and am being as proactive as possible about the rule change. Long story short, if a character is perceived as under eighteen in canon, artistic nudes are now banned. This is even if the character is aged up. Some of you might go "I don't draw nudes, so why should I care" or "I'm not a fanartist, so meh" but that really isn't the point. Do you think artists should have rights, the right to draw an image as they invisioned? We're not talking porn here, we're talking artistic nudity like you might see in classical artwork. Another complaint "Why don't you just draw them clothed?" - Why didn't Leonardo just sculpt clothed figures? Why didn't Sailor Moon just wear a longer skirt? You completely change the feel of an image with something like clothes. dA is banning aged up images that have creative uses of fabric or hair in this too. Its not just full nudes. If the character is nude but turned away from the camera, it still stands a high chance of being banned. "Just adding clothes" is like "just changing a character's name" - It completely changes the feel of something! I created a news article. Those of you on dA, mind spreading the word? Faving the article at least? Let's not have fan artists discriminated against! The more people get proactive, the more likely this can change! The article: news.deviantart.com/article/116802/
