Full Name: Patchouli Knowledge
Nicknames: The Great Unmoving Library
Age: Around 100, give or take.
Height: ?
Weight: ?
Gender: Female
Race: Youkai: Magician (A magician who becomes so powerful that they give up their humanity. Marisa Kirisame has become powerful, yet still needs to work hard to use her magic, so she does not classify as a Youkai: Magician. Whereas Marisa remains human, however, there are two Youkai: Magicians in Gensokyo: Patchouli herself and the Puppet-Master Alice Margatroid.)
Alliance: True Neutral
Home: Scarlet Devil Mansion
Franchise: Touhou Project
Physical Description: Patchouli is what you get when you take a hikikomori from its natural habitat. Her hair is purple and, despite the ribbons and bows tied within it, still hangs loose. Her eyes are also purple and somewhat blank and emotionless. She feels emotion; she just doesn't show it. Her standard garments consist of pajama-like clothing, ribbons and bows adorning that as well, along with a night-cap to finish the set off. Basically... Patchouli likes to stay at home.
Weapons: Patchouli uses magic. More described in abilities/powers.
Abilities/Powers: Patchouli was able to become a Magician type Youkai by specializing in some kind of magic, but the magic that Patchouli has specialized in is Elemental Magic. Patchouli is able to use the primary Japanese elements of Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, Metal, Sun, and Moon. She can also combine them to create devastating attacks that would destroy any foes in her way. Her greatest power is literally known as the Philosopher's Stone, creating stones to represent the elements of Fire, Water, Woof, Earth, and Metal that enhance their powers to utterly obliterate enemies. Such a power is terrifying, but due to Patchouli's terrible health, carrying conditions such as asthma and anemia despite her immortality, she cannot often rehearse the spells.
Skills: Patchouli's only real skills are to read magic books, study the spells, and write her own magic books. She may go outside on a few occasions, but she mostly prefers to stay in her library and read.
Personality: Patchouli comes off as an emotionless person, existing only to read and write magic. In truth, she has emotions, but doesn't often like to show them. She could be considered timid by some, but her intellect all but makes up for it. She doesn't have very good socialization skills, however, as a result of locking herself away from the world. She's seen few people, mostly the inhabitants of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and Marisa Kirisame when she would break in to "borrow," code-word for steal, some of Patchy's books. In truth, Patchouli's heart flutters around Marisa, but the girl seems too crazy or stupid to notice it. So Patchouli tries to remain in her library, alone and amongst herself with only her assistant, Koakuma, to keep her any real company.
History: As with nearly everyone in Gensokyo, no one really has much history on Patchouli. All people really know is that, one-hundred years or so ago, Patchouli managed to befriend the Scarlet Devil herself, Remilia Scarlet, and thus was allowed sanctity in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, where she studied great magics and eventually became a Youkai, writing her own magic books and becoming capable of magics a human could only dream of.
During the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Reimu ended up going through Patchouli's library and running into the Unmoving Library herself. Patchouli put up a good fight, but by the end of it, Patchouli had been defeated, mainly due to her bad health. After Remilia had been corrected by Reimu, however, Flandre began to act up in the basement, most likely caused by her sister's defeat. Patchouli had went down to calm her mistress' sister, but ran into Marisa there. Since she was in better health, she used her most powerful magics against Marisa, even the Philosopher's Stone, but was still beaten. Marisa went on to defeat Flandre and Patchouli was forced to take refuge in her library.
Patchouli hardly leaves her library ever. A few exceptions were made, three to be known of. One was during the events of Immaterial and Missing Power, in which Patchouli went out to investigate continuing feasts at the Hakurei Shrine, trying to figure out why everyone seemed drawn to participate. Another was the events of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, in which Patchouli went out to examine why the weather was so bad. Her investigations into that matter took her up to Heaven, where she thought the same culprit from the Immaterial and Missing Power event was the culprit here, yet failed to realize that it was the girl she beat before Suika Ibuki, the Celestial girl Tenshi Hinanawi, who was the culprit. Finally, the events of Subterranean Animalism, in which Patchouli went to investigate the underground and, upon discovering dangerous spirits, went to Yukari who grafted a plan to get Reimu and Marisa to deal with it. Patchouli would offer her powers to Marisa.
