"Tell me... in the process of changing your dream to something less horrifying, I encountered a memory of sorts. In it, you were staring down some mystical, unemotional creature who called himself the Wizard." Looking at King, she frowned as she said this. "He wanted to control everything. A dictator, no matter what he said his motives were, and yet could he have really been evil? Sometimes an overflow of law is just as bad as a rampant field of chaos. Sometimes good is easily as corruptable and twists and turns into a new form, that of a misguided evil. And yet, during all of this, he held no feeling. He was completely inhuman, but without those human emotions, he was more logical and capable of invoking his plans. Wouldn't that mean he..."
"You weren't there," King said, crossing his arms. "I was hardly there for most of it and I don't understand much of it myself. But I understand this much. He was threatening my friends... my family... so yes. If not to anyone else, then to me at least, he was the bad guy, the enemy, and enemies deserve to die."
"A barbaric mind," Lucy said. "As fitting for one from a barbaric world. No need for peace talks when the enemies you face will not negotiate with you. Lawrence's Crusaders were too mentally unstable. You should not blame yourself for the deaths of your friends."
King's eyes twitched and he walked out of the room. Lucy kept her face hidden in her knees as she did so.

Fletcher's mood descended as Lucy continued... no. Whether she was aware of all this or not, he would not stand for such insult.
"Law and chaos exist, lass. One can't exist without the other in a stable, human environment. I may not have been there, but the chills my companions had... The world the Wizard created was a world lacking feel, heart, emotion. It was cold, a cold atmosphere that was no better than death itself. And you're saying that was any better than otherwise?" He shook his head.

"You're not listening to me," Lucy said, shaking her head. "That wasn't what I was saying at all. Otherwise, I wouldn't have pointed out the very fact that he was inhuman. But is it possible to be evil, to be considered as evil, if you can't even feel? Hatred is considered evil. Anger, unless righteous, is considered wrong. Vengeance, the seeking of it, is considered blasphemy. All of these things are normal human feelings, driving forth the balance of good and evil in a natural human soul. Without such emotions, however, could such an entity be considered evil? Wrong, he is, but could he be considered as evil?"

Fletcher considered this. "...you have a valid point. And yet, evil is also a human concept. Your concept of evil is different from anyone else's. Yes, we consider a being who has no feelings for himself, much less those he treds upon, to be evil. But you may see him in a different light. But it makes no difference to us. He has caused much pain and suffering... and for that, at least, he will pay."

"I see... I was hoping you would feel that way because I... I have a favor to ask." She lightly reached out and clung to Fletcher's arm. "Please... won't you and your friends help me... help me keep my humanity?" She looked downcast. "Each day I feel it eating away at me. I've already lost the ability to feel happiness, only able to mock it now. I've already lost the ability to feel anger, only to put on a mask of it. The only thing I feel now is despair, as the pain eats away at me, but so long as I feel despair, I know I am human, so I don't want even that to go away. Please... don't let me fall and become the same as the Wizard... Would you help me?"

At this, Fletcher smiled, patting her shoulder. "...You only had to ask. In fact, we've already been doing the same for a good friend of ours."
"...?" Double D peeked his head in the doorway, a crayon still sitting on his ear for future use, as he had gotten up breifly. "Is everything alright in here?"

King was trying to ask what the crayon was for, but was unable to get it out. He had a good enough idea anyway.
Lucy laid back down when Double D came in, closing her eyes softly.

"Everything's fine, Eddward," Fletcher assured. "Just discussing things, is all. Lucy shall be in mine and King's care, don't worry."
"Ah... alright," Double D nodded, smiling breifly at Lucy before leaving the doorway to return to his daughter in the other room.

King looked at the resting figure of Lucy and sighed. "She surprised me," he said. "Knowing all that personal information... was a shock."

"Typical of a dream-reader, I suppose," Fletcher shrugged, lacing an arm around King. "...but I think under our care, she'll be alright."

"What did she say to you?" King asked. "Something about the Wizard, I heard..."

"Oh... she has a similar desire as Eddward not lose her humanity, is all," Fletcher replied. "Understandable, of course. Eddward has his friends and family to turn do; let's do what we can for her."

"We'll have to truely care for her," King said. "Edd has us, but this girl's lost everything close to her... We should let her be close to us, Fletcher."

Fletcher nodded in agreement. "Of course."
How...strange. It was almost like... having a small child of their own.

"This is awkward... maybe a bit," King said. "Then again, we aren't angels. Unlike the other two, we'd have had to adopt if we got to wanting children."
