"A-are you sure? Whoop!" He almost fell himself at the surprisingly STRONG grasp at his shoulder. "Ahh... at least give yourself a moment for your body to retain equilibrium...eh?"
He looked up at the other angel's entrance. He wasn't surprised that he didn't sense her presence sooner; he was keeping his aura-door shut at the risk of Oni. He straightened himself up once Kyle was steady, though kept a firm, protective grip on the boy's shoulder in return.
"We're... simply engaging in physical training," he answered her question.

"I see," Crow said. She sat down on a nearby stone. "I'll watch you, then."
Kyle took a couple deep breaths, and very shakily stepped away from Double D. He took up another battle stance again before running at him again, this time aiming for his gut. After punching Double D there, if it didn't get blocked, he'd swing around in another kick before swinging around and elbowing the angel a couple times to knock him off balance and come around with another punch.

Double D regarded Crow a bit strangely, but nodded either way. A quick aura read determined her to be non-hostile, so he accepted the spectation and continued.
Kyle was moving terribly fast, but training with Eddy had helped Double D to predict different attacks quicker. Dodging most of them, he screwed his eyes shut and raised his arm protectively as a natural reflex, and Kyle bounced off the oval force field lining his arm.
Blinking at the result, Double D looked down at the thin field, running down his upper arm... just like a... the wheels in his head were just starting to turn.

Just as Kyle had expected, Double D had dodged every attack. He would have kept going had Double D not deflected with that force field. However, as Kyle bounced back, he noticed it had a strange shape of sorts.
"...Hey, that's new," Kyle commented. "What's with the strange force field, Double D?"
Crow was still watching.

"...hmm..." Double D rubbed his chin, glancing around their surroundings. He wanted to test out this new theory, but he also wanted it to be fair.
"Do you want to perhaps try a weapon, Kyle? You're already well-developed in hand-to-hand, it seems... and considering my own style, I would like to try something myself."
Raising his arm, he created the force feild again, but shaped it into the more recognizable form of a basic tonfa, grasping the handle

Kyle blinked as Double D suggested he use a weapon.
"A... a weapon? Um... sure, I guess. But what kind of weapon would I use?" Kyle asked.
"Why not a knife?" Crow suggested. "Your strength seems to be in quick speedy hand-to-hand attacks, and a small knife would allow you to keep your hands mostly free while still providing you a weapon." She seemed to examine Kyle a bit. "It would also leave you free to use your own powers, probably."
Kyle looked a little uncomfortable. "...let's not talk about that..."

Double D looked up at their discussion, bitting his lip. There was no point in being upset at Crow, he didn't know any better.
"Well, I do agree that a smaller hand weapon would be better for you, considering your style of combat weighs heavily in speed."
Thinking to himself, he kept the tonfa on in one hand and raised his other, flashing blue, translucsent forms of various weapons one by one in contemplation. "Hmm... kunai... fan... nunchaku..."

Kyle blinked as Double D cycled through a few weapons. Particularly the nunchaku, that just weirded him out.
"Uh... that's okay, I'm fine," Kyle said.
Crow was still watching the fight. She crossed her legs. "This is your first time having any real kind of training, isn't it?"
Kyle shifted his feet. "Well, I used to go to a dojo... a lot of kids on the Island get battle training these days, due to how dangerous it is. My dad stopped taking me after mom died, though."
"So this is all muscle memory, then," Crow observed.

"A dojo?" Double D lighted up; of course he did! Good to know Oni wasn't the sole source of his strength. "It shows, Kyle. I can see why you would be less comfortable with a weapon for now, seeing as you you've had some small martial arts training."
