"Jounouchi-kun!"
The second exclamation of his name was not of surprise, but of relief. She let out a grateful smile and ran over to him. Jounouchi looked a bit relieved himself, but he turned to Adachi as he asked his question. He nodded and pointed at Anzu as she came to a stop.
"Yeah, this is Mazaki Anzu. She's a friend of mine and Yuugi's!"
"I'm so glad to see you, Jounouchi-kun! Oh, um..."
"Oh uh... we haven't exchanged names. I'm Jounouchi Kastuya!" Jounouchi extended his hand in an altogether western greeting, a grin on his face.
"Miss?"
Anzu turned as the doctor came out from where he'd been standing, having finally seen an opening. She looked down as he offered the ankh-like key to her again. Jounouchi turned his head away from Adachi as the doctor approached and his eyes widened.
"Wait, you too!?"

Adachi looked down at Jounouchi's hand for a moment before taking it and shaking it. "I'm Adachi Tohru." He looked toward Anzu and grinned. "Nice to meet you!" Hey, she was pretty cute, after all.
However, he was distracted as the doctor brought the ankh-key up to Anzu to give it back to her. Adachi wouldn't have taken much notice if it hadn't been for Jounouchi's comment. It implied something. Adachi gulped.
"Wait, that's not another one of those Millennium Whatsits, is it?" Adachi asked nervously. If it was, then... crap. It was like they were all appearing at once. Maybe because he'd thrown the Ring into the television, they were all gathering... no, he couldn't think that. He had other things to worry about.

Jounouchi gave a firm shake as Adachi returned the hand. Anzu gave a polite smile and slight bow over the introduction. She had straightened back up by the time the doctor came back and looked down at the item as Jounouchi let out his explanation. She jumped a bit and looked at him with a confused expression. Her too? That didn't surprise her nearly as much as Adachi's words, and she looked towards him with wide eyes. He knew about the Millenium Items? How...?
She shook her head and it was clear there were too many things going on at once. She turned back to the doctor and reached for the Key. She hesitated for a moment before closing her eyes and snatching it up out of the doctor's hand. He gave her an odd look, but released the Item to her. It had been found on her, after all.
"Miss?"
"Thank you for returning this," she opened her eyes and forced a smile, "I'll be fine, thank you. Jounouchi-kun is one of my friends."
The doctor frowned, and seemed to be about to argue. But he shook his head, "Alright, if you say so..."
Anzu gave a nervous smile. The doctor walked off and she turned towards Adachi. Jounouchi was back to looking concerned. Right, there was still he issue with Bakura... and Malik. Anzu probably didn't know about that yet. Anzu managed to speak first.
"You know about the Millenium Items, then...?" She looked very worried, and her hands went to her mouth. With the Items at full force... "Is Yuugi alright!?"
"This guy says Yuugi's living at an Apartment near where he's at," Jounouchi spoke before Adachi would have a chance to answer, although he might have cut him off, "Hey, you said that you brought Bakura in, right? How was he acting. Did he have this spiky ring thing around his neck and spoke really rudely?"

Adachi hadn't really gotten a clear answer. Anzu had shaken her head, but Adachi could tell that she wasn't really sure how to answer. He'd opened his mouth to answer her question, but Jounouchi had managed to answer it first. When Jounouchi finally asked his question, Adachi finally had time to answer.
"No, not for a long time," Adachi said. "That Ring thing's been gone for... a while. When Ryou made it back to my apartment, he was acting normal..." He hadn't been acting anything like Anpu, thank god. There was still that nagging feeling though. That something had been off about the encounter... The fact that Ryou had come back, coupled with something else, something Adachi couldn't put his finger on.
But the important part was the Ring was gone. Adachi himself had made sure of that. Hopefully, nothing would go wrong. He'd make sure of it tonight, when he watched the Midnight Channel.

Jounouchi relaxed quite a bit at that, only to tense up moments later. Anzu had relaxed even more as Adachi said that. her hand had gone to her chest, concealing her pendant and a muttered sigh of relief coming out. However, she noted Jounouchi tensing up. She gave him a worried look, and Jounouchi seemed to be in thought. He didn't want to think Malik would have done anything, but fact was he... still wasn't totally fond of the guy. Yuugi trusted him well enough, and his dark side had been defeated, but if someone had a beef against Malik...
"Jounouchi-kun...?"
"I still can't shake the fact that he might have been beaten up along with Malik."
"Malik is here too!?"
"Yeah, and according to Adachi here, was in similar condition to how I found Malik."
"...condition?"
Jounouchi sighed, "Yeah. Apparently someone beat the crap out of them," he turned to Adachi, "You said you knew what did it to them? Look, we know about the Millenium Items, so whatever you say aren't going to shock us."
"Jounouchi-kun, there's no guarantee... I mean...." She gave a nervous glance towards Adachi before grabbing Jounouchi by the wrist with her free hand and yanking him close. She whispered something into his ear with a cross look on her face. Jounouchi's eyes widened as she spoke.
(OOC: If you want Adachi to manage to hear all or part of it, she said, "There's no guarantee he knows about the Dark Games!")

Adachi even looked conflicted as Jounouchi asked his question. Adachi didn't know what would happen if he told the truth. It would be a definite betrayal if he told this kid about Lucifer, and Adachi knew Lucifer would know he said something, too. The bastard had already demonstrated that they had a bit of a mental link, and Adachi bet Lucifer was aware of his every movement. He found himself nervously rubbing his wrist at this thought.
He didn't manage to hear most of what Anzu said, but what he managed to catch told him it was about those Dark Game things that had scared him into throwing the Puzzle into the TV World before. They thought this was related to that?
"...This kid named Lucius Starr attacked Ryou, probably this Malik kid too," Adachi finally said. He wasn't sure why he was telling Jounouchi this. The kid was going to get himself killed if he went after Lucifer, and Adachi knew he would. Shit.

Anzu and Jounouchi exchanged blank looks. Some kid with an American name? They didn't know the name, and they were having similar thoughts. If Malik was in a bad condition, odds were pretty against it just being some random kid.
"Maybe someone Rebecca knows?"
Anzu shook her head, "Rebecca never met Malik, did she? Or Bakura-kun. I think it has more to do with this world."
"....what?"
"Wait, you don't know?"
"Of course I don't know! Anyways, if its not someone Rebecca or her dad knows, what else could it be? A former Ghoul with a grudge? I wouldn't blame them..."
"Jounouchi-kun! Stop being so rude! And listen to me for a moment! We're not in the same world!"
Jounouchi crouched down, "Did you hit your head a little too hard...?"
Anzu looked a bit pissed at this point.

Adachi gulped as Jounouchi and Anzu began to argue. Well, it was mostly Anzu; Jounouchi was just having the usual new arrival confusion. Well, it wasn't like the fact that you'd just been dumped on some strange new world was an easy fact to accept.
"She's right, this isn't the world you're from," Adachi said nervously. "Just about everyone got dumped here in some way or another from their own worlds."
Adachi wasn't going into detail about that; he really didn't feel the need to. Wasn't like he knew how the hell he ended up here from his own world anyways.

Jounouchi blinked and looked at Adachi. Wait, now he was saying it too? Oh man, had he ran into a crazy here without even realizing it? Anzu rubbed her head, her fingers contacting the bandage on her head. Jounouchi was so stubborn sometimes!
"Jounouchi-kun, how did you get here?"
"Huh? How I got here? You mean the hospital?"
"Yeah, sure. The hospital works."
"Um......." Jounouchi looked a bit uncomfortable, "It looked like a teleporter..."
Anzu's shoulders fell. Jounouchi had gone through a teleporter and thought he was in the same world? He even knew a bit about hospitals with what his sister had gone through. She let out an extremely annoyed sigh and shook her head.
"Jounouchi-kun, the point is whoever attacked Malik and Bakura-kun might have nothing to do with the Millenium Items. You said Yuugi was alright and living in some apartments? The doctors said I'd been out overnight, but that's not enough time for him to get set up like that. I'm not asking for a miracle, but use your head a little!"
Jounouchi let out a sigh, "Well then how the hell are we supposed to help Bakura-kun? That city I was in was huge, no way we're gonna find one American!"
"If Yuugi is here, I bet he knows about Bakura-kun! We can just ask him!" Anzu looked a little nervous, and looked away from both Adachi and Jounouchi, "Hey, is he okay? You know?"
"Atem-kun? Why wouldn't he be?"
Anzu looked surprised. She gave a quick nervous glance towards Adachi and glared at Jounouchi, "Jounouchi-kun!"
"Whaaat?"
Anzu's fingers twitched. She felt like facepalming. Most people thought Atem was Yuugi. They didn't even know if Adachi knew about the Dark Games, and here Jounouchi was blabbing information like that. Jounouchi just looked confused. WHy was mentioning Atem an issue? Of course, the tension gave Adachi a chance to speak again...

Adachi sweatdropped as Anzu and Jounouchi once again started having... difficulties. Over Jounouchi saying... wait, he'd said Atem. So that meant they DID know about Atem, and...
"Um, actually, I do know about him. He's got a separate body from that Yuugi kid now, and they live together," Adachi said. He paused and waited for their reactions. Most likely they'd trip over that fact. After all, the Pharaoh and Yuugi had been sharing a body when they'd showed up there... only reason they were separate now was because of him.
He really hoped Yuugi didn't mention that when they met up again.

Anzu had opened her mouth and paused, unsure how to answer Jounouchi. He didn't seem to see the problem with talking about Atem. Now that he'd regained his memories, now that she'd seen glimpses of the world he'd lived in, she knew more than ever he was someone separate. Separate, but still their friend. But if they weren't going to call him Yuugi anymore, they had to be more careful! She was still trying to figure out how to say that without giving away more than Jounouchi had when Adachi spoke up... and said they had seperate bodies!?
"Whoa, really!? Nothing happened to the Puzzle, did it?" Jounouchi said.
"How is that even possible...?" Was all Anzu was able to get out. Separate bodies. Separate people. One source of confusion gone, and she found herself relieved. But she had known that Atem was supposed to go somewhere... so how were they separate like that, anyhow?

Adachi gave a fake smile and laugh, but at this point he was so good at them they wouldn't read as fake to most people. Oh, something happened to that damn Puzzle, and all it did was cause him more problems. But again, he wasn't going to say anything like that to these people, and he was hoping Yuugi and Atem didn't say anything about his role in their split.
"I don't think anything happened," Adachi said. "All I know is that they're separate people now. That Yuugi kid still has the Puzzle thing, though."
On another hand, Adachi was glad for these two's company, even if they were just here because they'd appeared on the island at the same time. It helped take his mind off of Bakura... though only somewhat.

Jounouchi returned the laugh with a rather wide smile. Anzu smiled back only to be polite, but her mind was obviously elsewhere. She looked away from the group, her face full of worry. So they were separate now, which meant something had happened. Atem didn't have to go away any more, did he? Why didn't he? Why did it matter, even? If he would stay, they wouldn't have to say good bye. Wasn't that a good thing. Jounouchi noticed the long silence from her and turned back to her.
"Hey, Anzu? What's up?"
"N-nothing!" Anzu stammered out. Her eyes looked for anything to change the topic and she happened to find something, "Hey, is that your clip board?"
"Oh crap, right!" Jounouchi crouched down and picked up the pen and paperwork. He dropped into the seat and looked back at Adachi, "Hey, any chance you could give us a ride back to where Yuugi's staying when I'm done with this? I don't have any money."
"We really don't have anywhere else to go. I'd offer you some money if I had any, I'm really sorry about the inconvenience," Anzu gave an apologetic bow.

Anzu's discovery of Jounouchi's clipboard reminded Adachi of his own, though he couldn't work on the paperwork right now since he'd lent Jounouchi his pen. He blinked as Jounouchi looked back toward him and asked if he could give them a ride to Yuugi's place. Adachi gave a nervous smile.
"Sorry, I came here by taxi," Adachi admitted. "I don't have a car yet. I don't think it's all that far of a walk from here to the apartments, though."
And with that, he sat down and waited for Jounouchi to finish up.

Jounouchi let out a sigh as Adachi gave his answer. Anzu looked at the key in her hand before carefully sitting down. With the length of her skirt, that was pretty much the only way to sit down. About ten minutes later of silence that no one seemed inclined to break, Jounouchi stood up. He turned to Adachi and held ou the pen, noting that the man hadn't done anything.
"Hey, you could have said something if it was your only pen."
Anzu stood up, "You said Yuugi is at the apartments, right? Is there more than one complex in town? We can ask for directions ourselves, but I just want to make sure we get to the right one..."
