Physical Description: Normally, Ryu is a young Japanese man with light-brown hair and a serious expression. He often wears a red leather jacket with a certain Buddhist saying printed on the back (In English). His clothes are reminiscint of a biker's; fitting, given his job as a Kamen Rider.
When Ryu is Accel, he dons all-red body armor with silver lining. He sees out of a single glowing, blue visor. The front of his helmet is adorned with a rising crest that cuts through the middle of this visor, like an axe. His body is adorned with the parts of a motorcycle.
Ryu's ultimate form, AccelTrial, is blue and less bulky. The wheels that normally adorn Accel's back and shoulders are trimmed down.
Weapons: Ryu is at his peak after he uses his primary tool-- the Accel Driver. It is a transformation belt in the shape of a set of motorcycle handlebars. By entering the Accel memory and reving the Power Throttle, Ryu can become Kamen Rider Accel.
Unlike Shotaro and Philip, Ryu has a weapon he can use outside his Rider form: the Engine Blade. However, it is extremely heavy and diffiuclt to wield. When used as Accel, it can be used with Ryu's secondary memory-- the engine memory, which provides an elemental power to the sword; either Steam, Jet, or Electric.
Finally, Ryu recently came into posession of the Trial Memory, a unique Gaia Memory that lets Ryu upgrade himself into Kamen Rider Accel Trial. When in Memory Form, it takes 3 seconds to transform; counting down like a traffic light from red to blue. In its stop-watch Maximum Mode, it gives Ryu ten seconds to attack his enemy as many times as possible.
Abilities/Powers: As Accel, Ryu has the unique ability to twist his body into the shape of a motorcycle to more quickly chase down enemies. As AccelTrial, Ryu is gifted with enhanced speed, but at the cost of a lowered defense.
Skills: As has been shown several times, Ryu is surprisingly good at making coffee.
Personality: In the beginning, Ryu was a very black-and-white cop with no sympathy for any Dopant. This stemmed from the murder of his family by the Weather Dopant some time ago. Eventually, however, a bit of Shotaro rubbed off on him, and he let his tough exterior fall to show he truly cared about helping people.
History: Terui Ryu is from a police family native to Fuuto. While he was attending police academy, his family was murdered by the wielder of the Weather Memory, leading Ryu on a path of revenge.
He was eventually visited by a mysterious woman named Shroud, who gave him the Accel Driver. He almost killed someone he falsely suspected of being his family's murderer, but under Shotaro's urging arrested him instead. This lead to several future team-ups between Accel and W.
Eventually, it came time for Ryu to finally defeat the Weather Dopant-- Dr Isaka. Using the Trial Memory he'd been given by Shroud, he easily beat him using his new Maximum Drive. Afterwards, Isaka's body disinitgrated due to overuse of Gaia Memories.
