Yuusuke shuddered a bit as Mitsuyo smiled in his direction. It made him incredibly uncomfortable. Almost as much as Suzu's similarities with Suzaku had, in fact. Not quite, but close. He quickly recovered, shifting to put himself between Mitsuyo and Suzu. While he couldn't see him loosen his grip on the sword, he could hear the tone of his voice. He didn't sound like he'd be up to taking an attack from Mitsuyo. Also, while Yuusuke had indeed heard his comment about 'that bastard' that had sealed him, he didn't quite put two and two together and come to the appropriate conclusion.
To be fair, he didn't make much of an attempt. It wasn't very pressing at the moment. Knowing who sealed Suzu, he felt, wouldn't really help his current situation much. So he gave it nothing more than a moment's thought, contorting his right hand into the shape of a gun and raising it. The tip of his finger didn't give off its distinctive glow, as he didn't quite ready his reigun. It was just a warning.
"Look, I know you're probably going through a lot right now, but freaking out about it won't help! If she gets her hands on that sword, the reikai, the ningenkai, even the makai could be in danger! Now pull your crap together and get the hell in the game!" Yuusuke called back to Suzu. Truth be told, his claim was somewhat unfounded. He had no idea what would happen if she left this confrontation as the victor, it was just what he assumed to be the ultimate conclusion. It was just his best guess.

Mitsuyo gave Yuusuke a flat stare as he stepped in front of the in shock yokai. She noticed that the red haired yokai jerked his head up as Yuusuke cut off his line of not quite as broken vision as Yuusuke seemed to think. She raised an eyebrow at Yuusuke's pose, her smile becoming a smirk. The boy talked a lot, but she doubted his threat could amount to much, especially not after pulling the sword free as he had. And it wasn't as if she needed to move, because the other yokai was acting before she.
The other yokai leapt into the air suddenly, and landed directly in front of Yuusuke, "And I told you to get the hell out of here! You're a liability!"
The red-haired yokai refocused on Mitsuyo without seeming to care what Yuusuke's response would be. He narrowed his eyes at Mitsuyo again. She rolled her own in response, "I've seen humans less of a stubborn fool than you."
"Despite what this fool worries about, I could care less about the ningenkai and the reikai, and the makai never stays the same for long anyways," the yokai responded. Mitsuyo paused, raising an eyebrow, "You say I should go with you? I don't think I ever said I didn't intend on it. Eventually. But this fool is the one that freed me, understand?"

Yuusuke was positively livid by this point. Here he was, sticking his neck out, doing his job for the reikai, trying to understand what the other fellow was going through. What did he get in return? Ushered away and called a fool. Needless to say, he was pretty pissed. It took every ounce of his self control to avoid just reeling the red haired yokai around and punching him in the jaw. Both because it would have been pretty silly and also because, plan or no plan, it was probably a bad idea to just... initiate a confrontation like that.
Instead, he clenched his fists. It was all he could do to keep his cool. Especially after the other fellow's last statement. It was actually enough to push Yuusuke into a tranquil fury of sorts. His face was blank as he walked now to the new arrival's side, keeping a fair amount of distance between the two.
"If me pulling your sword out is the only thing keeping you from joining her, then go. Because if I have to worry about you eventually going over to her side, then there's no point. Walking away's no good either. I live, but she might still get the sword, willingly on your part or not. If I stay here, it's obvious. Either she gets the sword, or I die again. Only one of those really matters." Yuusuke said, eyes not leaving Mitsuyo.
The earlier talk of Suzaku had managed to remind him of another option. If it came to blows, it would be his last resort. He could use his life energy, if it came to it. The last time he'd done such, against Suzaku, he'd nearly died. It would be dangerous, but if he had to do it, he would.

Mitsuyo frowned, her face furrowing in confusion at the red haired Yokai's words. She kept the unblinking stare and confused expression during Yuusuke's entire speech, and didn't turn her head towards the human once. She loosened the grip on her weapon, ever so slightly. It was clear she was ready to snatch it up to fight again, but her guard had dropped. She addressed the other yokai as if she hadn't even heard Yuusuke.
"What are you saying...?"
The new arrival turned towards Yuusuke and gave him a dull look, "The point is that I owe you a life debt, and I'm going to fulfil it if I have to follow you to the ends of the world and back."
He looked towards Mitsuyo as she asked her question, "I'm saying that I'm willing to talk. An idiot like this," he released one hand from his sword and jerked a thumb towards Yuusuke, "Won't last for long without getting his life in danger, anyways. But since you two seem to have some kind of issue with each other, I can't exactly follow you until I repay him."

Yuusuke's scowl deepened as the new arrival made his comment. He "tch"ed, crossing his arms. It wasn't even the stigma surrounding the sword that bothered him. For the moment, he didn't even care about Mitsuyo. But for this new arrival to arrogantly imply Yuusuke would need his help? He wouldn't stand for that.
Yuusuke walked around the Yokai, brusquely grabbing him by the collar. There was no reiki flare signaling an attack, because it wasn't one. The young teen was just making a point. A point that everyone seemed to disregard.
"Look, I didn't go through the dark tournament and deal with those Toguro brtohers, before getting whisked here and pulling out your STUPID sword, just to get talked down to! I don't need help, and if I ever do, I'd go to Hiei before I went to you!" Yuusuke wouldn't namedrop so casually under normal circumstances, but he was very angry.
"You wanna negotiate about your sword, fine! But I'm not some little kid to be coddled by some yokai who's been sealed for SO LONG that he doesn't even know what a reikai tantei is!" Yuusuke screamed into the Yokai's face, nostrils flaring.

(OOC: Godmoding done with permission)
Mitsuyo looked almost bored with the new arrival's explanation of the situation. She narrowed her eyes and lifted the chain up a bit as Yuusuke stepped forward, only to relax back down to her cautionary stance when the teenager grabbed Suzu's collar. The red-haired yokai glared at Yuusuke as he began to chew him out. He let Yuusuke rant before firmly grabbing his wrist with his own free hand and squeezing, hitting points that would force Yuusuke's hand open and roughly tossing it away. Ordinarily Yuusuke could have probably at least tried to stop him, but the expended reiki meant he wouldn't be able to put up more than a marginal amount of resistance. He didn't release Yuusuke's hand as he jerked it down, although if Yuusuke wanted to he could attempt to grab him with his still free hand.
"And I'm telling you that you're not getting rid of me until I repay the debt! If you want to run it with me beating you down until my blade is against your throat, then keep up your idiocy! I'll spare your life once!"
Mitsuyo's annoyance faded to an amused grin as the exchange continued.

Yuusuke's expression changed entirely at the Yokai's threat. It changed first into that of a quiet storm, of a very tranquil fury. But then he smiled. Following this, he began to chuckle. A small chuckle, that soon grew into a rather uproarious laughter. He leaned his head back as he laughed, tears streaming down his face. When he finally stopped, he wiped at his eyes with his free hand, still chuckling ever so slightly.
"Heh. Now I see why Kurama's able to put up with Hiei. Yeah, okay, whatever. You can tag along I guess. But don't think you'll be needing to save my life any time soon. Just because I'm low on reiki doesn't mean I couldn't kick your ass. Just ask Suzaku." Yuusuke paused for a moment, a somewhat faraway look in his eyes, remembering. Yes... he'd had very poor odds when he beat Suzaku. But this wasn't a fight he wanted to enter. He turned to Mitsuyo, cupping his right hand to his mouth.
"Hey, hag! Are we done here or what?!" Yuusuke called out.

The new arrival just stared at Yuusuke as he had his little breakdown moment. He seemed to be fighting the urge to do more than twist his arm, and a bit of electricity sparked near the base of the blade of his sword. At least until Yuusuke mentioned Kurama putting up with Hiei. Suzu's eyes widened, the sparks vanished with a barely audible crack, and his grip on Yuusuke's arm loosened. Mitsuyo raised an eyebrow at the reaction and looked rather peeved for some reason.
Suzu's grip increased as soon as Yuusuke mentioned Suzaku again, and he took a step forward and ended up getting smacked with the teenager's right hand as he brought it up to yell at Mitsuyo for his effort. It didn't even hurt given species differences, but it did cause a flash of annoyance to cross Suzu's face.
Mitsuyo had brought herself back under composure by the time Yuusuke had yelled at her. Her lips tightened at Yuusuke's choice of words. She let out a "hmph" noise as she let her weapon melt, the water vanishing into mist before it hit the ground. She looked at Suzu.
"See that your 'debt' doesn't take too long," she stated. She shot a glare at Yuusuke before leaping up into the air backwards, turning right before landing and vanishing into the distance with that yokai type speed.
"I can't figure out if I should demand to know your affiliation with Suzaku more or why the hell Kurama hasn't turned you into ten different kinds of dead," Suzu growled at Yuusuke.

Yuusuke turned to the Yokai, quirking a brow, before he realized. Of course, Suzu had likely been sealed before Kurama's... falling. Kurama was on the mend, true. But, debt or no debt, he still couldn't entirely trust Suzu, and he'd already given Mitsuyo possibly usable information. Besides, not at his prime or not, Kurama was still a force to be reckoned with. Especially now, after the power output he'd produced during the Dark Tournament. So Yuusuke just smirked in response to Suzu's question.
"All that matters is that Suzaku and I fought, and I won. As for Kurama... we're friends." Yuusuke responded, shrugging. In the end, that's all there was to it. Though Kurama's injury might have been what led to him calming down, the point was, he was a chill bro and he and Yuusuke were cool. Really, nothing else mattered.

Suzu suddenly reached up and grabbed Yuusuke by the collar of his shirt, yanking the taller teenager down and towards him so their noses were practically touching. His voice dripped venom.
"Kurama doesn't have friends and Suzaku isn't enough of a pushover to lose to a mere human so unless you start making sense soon I'm going to be talking to that fox sooner than I expected," Suzu growled. Sparks were dancing around the base of his blade once again.

Then Yuusuke's hands Suzu's collar as well, gripping it as tightly as the other had his own. Then he was flaring reiki that he, by all logic, should not have had. He looked at Suzu with a blank look for a moment, before scowling. The deepest scowl he'd given yet. A tranquil waterfall masked by a raging fire. Yuusuke was pissed.
"Things have changed since you were sealed. Kurama's not such a hardass any more, and I'd suggest you follow his lead." Yuusuke said through gritted teeth. But then his scowl deepened, and his grip tightened.
"It's yokai like you who really piss me off. You think you're so much better than us 'mere humans'. Yeah, it was a tough fight, but I beat Suzaku." Yuusuke said, and then he released Suzu's collar. He brought his hands together, closing his eyes. If Suzu looked down, he'd noticed what seemed to be cuffs made of reiki around the taller teen's wrists. He grunted, before pulling his palms apart, breaking them. And then his reiki flowed out like a wave, as if a levi holding back an ocean had just broken.
"You wanna know how?! Because unlike self-righteous bastards like you and Suzaku, I have something to fight for. My finishing blow was delivered with my own life energy. I won because I'm not afraid TO DIE!" Yuusuke exclaimed his last bit, bringing a glowing fist upwards. If Suzu didn't react quickly, he'd get a glancing blow to the chin.
Often, the bond between two men is formed not with words, but with blows.

The sparking around Suzu's blade increased as Yuusuke returned the grip and began to growl his counter points to the yokai. Suzu didn't release his own grip until he saw the cuffs appear, and then it only loosened in confusion. When Yuusuke busted them, his eyes widened and he launched himself backwards just in time to dodge Yuusuke's attempt at a reiki fueled uppercut. He landed on a tombstone several feet away and had his mouth open in what was clearly going to be a yell...
...when Yuusuke would feel something like a stick bash into the top of his head. Or a broom handle. Suzu blinked at the young lady riding... what appeared to be a scythe. Straddling it despite wearing a short black dress, at that.
"Uh, crap! Sorry! Uh, look, I really don't mean to be interuppting anything here but you're that Yuusuki guy right? Koenma-sama's newest detective?"
If Yuusuke turned around he'd notice a girl with big fluffy blond hair looking down at him. Her eyes were large and blue and she looked sort of American, definitely not Japanese despite speaking it fluently. She had a headband on that read "DEATH" of all things, although Yuusuke's skill with English meant he might not know that. She was straddling a scythe, the curved blade part facing downwards. Actually the guy'd probably be able to get a panty shot. She suddenly blinked and looked up towards Suzu.
"What?! Another one?! I don't run into any demons my entire time here and suddenly two in less than an hour? What is UP with this place they are not paying me enough for this! Look, Yuusuki, there's this stupid yokai messing things up in the city and he totally stole one of my charges! I'll have you know I have a perfect record and I would reeeeeeeeeeeeaally appreciate it if you'd help, okay?" she winked at the end.

Yuusuke reeled forward a bit as something hit him in the back of the head. He was working on the assumption that the other yokai had reentered the fray, and thus turned around with a fist ready to be tossed forward... before he came face to... panty with someone riding what appeared to be a scythe. Black and lacy panties, flying scythe... oh god. Another shinigami. As if Botan wasn't bad enough, now he had to deal with... whoever the individual these panties belonged to was! Then she was asking for his help. Well, Suzu had gotten him pretty riled up, so this would be a nice chance to work out some frustrations.
"First, the name's Yuusuke, not Yuusuki or whatever. Second, while I don't know how a yokai could mess with a sninigami, I guess it is my job to help out. Third," Yuusuke turned then to Suzu, frowning, "I guess trying to stop you from tagging along would be a waste of time, but just stay the hell out of my way. If you step in, I'll take you on, too." Yuusuke once more turned to the shinigami, bringing a palm to his face.
"I can' tbelieve I'm going along with this, but... lead the way."

"Oh thank Enma! Okay, Yuu-chan!" the blond said with a smile. She looked over to Suzu and frowned, "Uh... I don't think you're on any wanted lists, right? Well, not that I can recall and I've got a pretty good memory for that sort of thing. So, like, do whatever you want okay? It's this way, Yuu-chan!"
The spirit guide shot into the air... before wobbling like she didn't know how to fly the darn thing, spinning so the staff was paralell to the nearby city. There was a pulse of reiki in the blade of her scythe and she nodded, spinning forward and pointing, "This way, let's go!"
Suzu sort of stared for a few minutes, but he'd run to catch up once Yuusuke went.
