(OOC: Me and Jilak. Plot Reboot. =D)
A large portal sparked open over the cemetary. By large, it was technically of a size that would have allowed three fully grown adult male humans through. Which, given what came through it, was overly large. In a ripple of the void, as those that bothered to stare at portals could often realize they were often made up of the miasma the void around the Island pulsed with, a tall and slender woman appeared.
Her style of dress was odd. It seemed to have taken some rather strong inspiration from miko uniforms. It was a one piece and black rather than the red or white some might expect. Tied around the waist, dividing the outfit into two distinct parts was a wide dark grey sash. It tied in a bow of medium size in the back. Tied up just past halfway up her upper arm was a wide sleeve, also reminsicent of miko uniforms, tied on with string the same grey as her sash. She had black soft-soled shoes with a slight point to them. None of this was the first thing most people would notice.
The first thing most people would notice, even before her feet set down on the ground, was that she had a single red-orange tail with no alternately colored tips. From her head came up two narrow ears of the same color. While her hair was orange and tied in a braid hanging to her her waist, it was really all very minor next to the ears and tail. Given the Island and her home world, the hair really didn't even register.
The portal sparked and snapped shut behind her, and she jerked and leapt into the air with force about as human as her overall appearance. She had calmed down before she even landed, and she landed upon a tombstone. It was rather graceful, and anyone that showed up in the area would find her balancing upon the top of the rock as if it was as wide as a ballroom floor. There was no lack of grace inherent at all. Those that were familiar with the "Youko" form of another kitsune yokai would see more than a few similarities. Although the one called Mitsuyo was more feminine than the one called Kurama.
"You would think he could keep a portal open..." she gave a bitter mutter.

Yuusuke Urameshi was currently having one of the worst days of his life. And yes, this is indeed counting the day he died. It all started when a portal appeared, and it wasn't about to get any better. Honestly, out of all of the odd things that had happened to him in his life, he hadn't expected random portals to be one of the many things he'd have to worry about. Demon attacks, Kuwabara, Botan recruiting him for a random mission, Kuwabara, these were things that he was used to.
Obviously, Yuusuke was not thinking with portals.
In any case, one second he was walking to pick up some pastries, the next he was staring down at a cemetery. And, oh God, it looked like he was friggin' FALLING TOWARDS IT. That wasn't exactly a good thing, as Yuusuke didn't really like the thought of his face slamming into concrete or something. As such he managed to do a mild mid-air save, landing in a semi crouched position. The impact sent a small shockwave through his body that hurt like hell, but he was otherwise unscathed.
Looking up, he even managed to see what he assumed was a familiar face. In Yuusuke's defense, it was rather dark and Kurama was rather effeminate anyway. That didn't make him any less incorrect in his assumption, but still.
"Oi, Kurama!" Yuusuke called out. He was going to ask him if he had any idea exactly what was going on here, but then slowly the realization hit him. The person before him seemed a bit... TOO effeminate, even for Kurama. The deal breaker was that the last time he'd seen Kurama, he was in Shuuichi form, not Youko Kurama. All this combined sent Yuusuke scrambling behind a nearby gravestone mere seconds after he'd called out.

Mitsuyo had been looking over the graveyard, scanning for the energy that had supposedly been locked onto. She had been about to leap when she paused for a split second and both her fox ears tilted to the side to better hear what was behind her. The pause would only be noticable with those with amazing spirit sense due to the speed at which she took her actions, and said person would have to be a bit more focused on her than falling from the sky.
With her ears turned towards where Yuusuke landed, she was in the air and landing on another tombstone. She continued to glance around the graveyard, taking another few quick leaps from stone to stone. The speed bordered teleporting, although it still fell short of how fast Hiei could have moved. She didn't seem aware of Yuusuke's presence aside from the turned ears, and she had no intentions of paying attention to the boy.
At least until he called her Kurama. She landed a bit odd on a tombstone as the name came out, but righted herself by a strong kick. Part of the tombstone crumbled due to the force. The angle meant she had to kick the side of the black fence lining the area and made an impressive flip in mid-air, landing atop the very tombstone Yuusuke had hidden behind.
"Who are you?" she stated. It was as much a demand as a question.

And lo and behold, his worst day ever was starting to get even WORSE. Subtlety obviously wasn't an option at this point, and he sort of wanted to avoid engaging anyone in a fight until he knew more about where he was. Or, for that matter, why he was here. Botan usually told him when Koenma had a mission for him, so...
Plus, Yuusuke had seen Kurama fight before. If this woman was ANYTHING like the man he knew, that was pain he didn't want.
"Urameshi Yuusuke. And just who the hell are you?" Yuusuke asked, leaving out 'spirit detective'. Didn't need to give this person, who he wasn't even sure if he could trust, more information than she needed.
After the thing with Toguro in the Dark Tournament, Yuusuke wasn't even sure if he was in any condition to fight. So if it absolutely came down to it... he might run. Looking around he couldn't see too many escape routes, but maybe...

Mitsuyo regarded Yuusuke for a few more moments. It hadn't been even a week since the Dark Tournament had been held in the Makai. She hadn't watched, more concerned with matters of more important than such. She'd been aware of Kurama's involvement, but hadn't bothered herselves with the members of his team.
However, she knew about Yuusuke. She'd been informed of Koenma's newest pet. She'd also been informed of his potential involvement, although it had been speculated it would be much later. His lack of knowledge regarding her said several things. And those things could be to her advantage... She seemed to drop a lot of the tension.
"It is not wise for humans to sneak up on demons, regardless of their Reiki," she stated.
She launched into the air by kicking off the tombstone. There was no indication of attack, though. She backflipped about twenty feet up and held her arms out. She gave a perfect landing a bit back from the tombstone Yuusuke was hiding behind and walked around. She offered her hand to him once she was beside him.
"You may call me Mitsuyo. I don't intend on attacking you, Urameshi Yuusuke. I am merely searching for something."

Yuusuke was completely flabbergasted. This woman had just flipped 20 feet into the air off a tombstone. He supposed that, yes, she was a yokai, it was to be expected. But at the same time, even Kurama's acrobatics still surprised him on occasion. And this was one of those awe-inspiring 'holyshitwhat' kind of situations. At the very least, though, a bit of the tension seemed to have dropped. So while she DID seem very acrobatic, Yuusuke was also able to believe that she was non-threatening. Well, perhaps that wasn't the best term, as she could most likely kill him with a single FINGER in his current state, but at least she didn't seem like she'd try.
She offered him her hand, and he took it, pulling himself up. Right then. Best to find out exactly what was going on here and where he was first, and then worry about the whole 'whoa flip' thing.
"So, Mitsuyo, I dunno how long you've been here, but... where exactly are we?" Yuusuke asked. He considered, for a moment, mentioning 'Koenma sent me here without any background information', but stopped himself. Even if the tension was gone, it was entirely possible for her to turn on him at any second. He wasn't usually this paranoid, but... the fact that he hadn't gotten a word from Botan first worried him.

"It is not in my habit to educate lost humans," Mitsuyo stated as she released Yuusuke's hand, "I am here to seek an item. I suggest you search for answers on your own."
The yokai turned and began looking around. She leapt up and landed on a nearby tombstone. She'd landed on her toes. Even after she'd stabilized, the balance seemed more akin to a cat. She looked around again before pausing and turning her head slightly towards Yuusuke. He'd see about a quarter of her face from the angle.
"Would you be interested in an exchange of information, then? I do believe you referred to me as 'Kurama' earlier?"

That... wasn't exactly the response Yuusuke was expecting. He'd suspected her to at least blow him off a bit more politely. But 'it is not my habit of educating lost humans'? That was quite rude, he felt. He was about to voice his indignation when Mitsuyo pulled off another bout of stunning acrobatics. And then she offered an exchange of information. And mentioned his referring to her as Kurama earlier. Well, though he wasn't too keen on giving away information, it seemed to be his only option. And he'd have really preferred not to go wandering around an island for hours, or maybe even DAYS, trying to figure out where he was. So he yielded.
"Yeah, you looked a bit like a friend of mine from a distance. Just... in a different wardrobe. With different hair. And more feminine. Yeah. Anyway, what of it?"

Mitsuyo let out a dark scoff as soon as Yuusuke indicated Kurama was his friend. He had fallen so far. Well, it was a failure any way you looked at it. Survival hadn't been an option she had planned for. However, she seemed at least somewhat satisfied with the information as she turned around so she was actually facing the black haired teenager.
"Well then, when did you last see him? Was he... well?" her expression bordered a snarl at that. She wasn't doing the world's greatest job at hiding a history.

Right then. Kurama REALLY had some explaining to do. Mitsuyo SEEMED to know him prior, but at the same time, she didn't seem... happy with that fact. She'd nearly snarled as she asked if he was well. Ah well, this was the only way for Yuusuke to get information, and it wasn't like Kurama was here to be put in danger, so...
"Well, as well as he could be, given what happened in the Dark Tournament..." Yuusuke responded, trailing off. Kurama'd gotten pretty beaten up in the Tournament, but at the same time had managed to go Youko Kurama form. Much like Hiei pulling off the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, everyone had gone all out near the end. Including Kuwabara. Though, it had cost Kuwa his sword.

Mitsuyo frowned. So he was having trouble? And she doubted any of his companions knew how to care for him. Perhaps that child of the Snow Woman, but she doubted it. She crossed her arms. Yuusuke had given her a detail, she coudl return the favor.
"You are on Dimensional Island. Where was Kurama the last you saw him?"
One detail, next question. It had been many years since she had last seen the man. Perhaps he had come to his senses in light of the situation with Yomi. She had, after all, been right about the man. Arrogant bastard, regardless of his current position in the Makai. In any case, she seemed a bit annoyed.

"Last I saw him he was in Japan." Yuusuke responded as he thought over Mitsuyo's response. Dimensional Island... strange name, that was. It definitely qualified as a Name To Run Away From Really Fast. I mean, really. It boasted that it was an island. An island that made up a DIMENSION. That wasn't exactly... an area he'd expected Koenma to send him to. It implied that Yuusuke'd be dealing with a dimensional scale problem. And he wasn't entirely sure he was ready for that, so fresh from the Dark Tournament.
"What exactly are you looking for?" Yuusuke asked.

Mitsuyo didn't answer Yuusuke's first response. There were lots of thoughts to go with it, but none of them voiced. She landed on the edge of a broken fence, and Yuusuke could probably see her frown. She seemed annoyed by something. Her energy flared a bit and if Yuusuke was keeping any eye on her Youki he'd realize that a bit to her left seemed dulled. The yokai opened her eyes and looked in that direction.
"A sword," she said simply, before leaping into a tree and out of his site. She'd landed in the cemetary, though, and she was still putting off a bit of energy.

And even more acrobatics. Yuusuke was starting to get the feeling Mitsuyo just liked showing off, honestly. Though, whatever she was looking for, Yuusuke noticed that as she flared her Youki the bit to her left seemed... dulled. She was out of his sight for the moment, but he had a feeling that this was how she was going to find her sword. But... how exactly would one find a simply inanimate object by flaring their Youki? Ah well, she seemed to at least know what she was doing.
Deciding it was probably best to keep tabs on her, Yuusuke followed, running to catch up. She had quite a bit of Youki, and he still wasn't entirely sure she was trustworthy. Perhaps this was why Koenma had sent Yuusuke here?

Mitsuyo landed just in front of a series of tall hedges. They seemed to have been used at one point to seperate parts of the cemetary. Now they were horribly snaggled and it was a wonder they were still alive. They seemed to have been overgrown with thorns as well, and the entire area of the cemetary Mitsuyo had wandered into seemed less cared for. It was in fact an older area and really hadn't been looked after as well as the rest. It wasn't part of the cemetary open to the public, either. Beyond that, Yuusuke would have to either climb a tree and take a risky leap to get over them or tough his way through the rather nasty thorns.
The kitsune gave no regard to such things. She was aware the spirit detective had chosen to follow her, but didn't much care. He would have to get through the hedges, after all. By this time she was confident she would have the blade. Once she possessed it, she could simply leave. Her location would be quite clear to Yuusuke as she flared her Youki again, turning in where she felt the dip. The whole reason it dipped was due to the seal, after all. She ducked under an overgrown dead tree and came upon a single grave.
The tombstone was written in archaic Chinese. Mitsuyo noted the blood red hilt stuck into the grave. The pattern matched, but she knelt down and reached forward to the stone not the blade. She brushed off some dust and cleared off a bit of overgrowth before tracing over the symbols with a finger. She spoke under her breath the words as she traced them. Yuusuke wouldn't know what she was saying, even if his stubborness let him get to her before she was finished. She was, after all, reading it in its original language.
