Physical Description: Though she is a human/phantom mix, the two parts are actually seperate, giving her a human body and a formless phantom ball that follows her. The phantom ball comes to be known as Myon while the human body is Youmu herself. Youmu has short silver-colored hair. Perhaps she feels hair will get in the way. She has a black ribbon off-center from her hair. Her eyes are deep blue, but will glow bright red when she is using a spellcard. She wears a dark green and white dress with ghost insignias around the edges and on the breast pocket, not to mention short sleeves. Her katana has a cherry blossom insignia on the hilt and a flower attatched to the sheath.
Weapons: Yup, she's a sworduser =w= She carries a katana named Roukanken and a wakizashi (Japanese short sword) named Hakurouken.
Abilities/Powers: Her powers come due to her swordsmenship. With Roukanken, she's able to kill ten ghosts in one swipe. This implicates that she can take down multiple opponents as well. Hakurouken is supposedly able to slice through someone's confusion. She used Hakurouken during the events of Immaterial and Missing Power to see if suspects were lying about being involved. Finally, it's said that she can slash 200 yojanas in one slice. One yojana is equivalent to 10-15 kilometers, so 200 yojanas is equal to 2,000-3,000 kilometers long... thankfully, she can only do such a miraculous attack using one of her spellcards, but if she musters up the strength to do it, prepare to be in a world of pain.
Skills: Youmu's a good gardener. She's also an amazing swordsman.
Personality: Youmu's a blunt, straightforward person. Compared to the other quirky members of the Touhou series, this makes her somwhat unique, but she is also subject to ridicule and humiliation due to it. She is devoutly loyal to her mistress, Yuyuko Saigyouji, and it is supposed that she loves her. She does, however, want to see some right done in the world more then most and is actually more normal then the other characters for the most part. This gives her a bit of an allegiance shift towards Good, but she will commit what society counts as Evil if Yuyuko orders it, which led to the events of Perfect Cherry Blossom.
History: Youmu has a bit more history then most Touhou characters, with Yuyuko and Yukari being the two that possibly have the most history. Youmu, when she was younger, had always been destined to be the gardener and guard of Hakugyokorou while training under her master and kinsman, Youki Konpaku. But one day Youki vanished, as if into thin air, and Youmu was left with incomplete training. She tried to teach herself and it led to her being the way she is today.
Youmu's first appearence in the Touhouverse was in Perfect Cherry Blossom. Her mistress, Yuyuko Saigyouji, had ordered her to steal spring from the world. She did so, allowing winter to reign unchecked in Gensokyo. This was all to cause the blooming of a great Youkai tree, Saigyou Ayakashi. But before the blooming could occur, one of three girls (Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, or Sakuya Izayoi) would fight their way into the world of the dead where Youmu stood guard and defeat her both on their way to Hakugyokorou and when she attempted to defend Yuyuko from their wrath. Youmu was naturally defeated and Yuyuko fell shortly after. Good triumphs, evil fails, and Youmu was seen as a bitch... no, I'm kidding about that last part.
Youmu would then reappear in Immaterial and Missing power. Concerned about the growing number of feasts, she would use her Hakurouken sword to fight people and cut through them to see if they were involved or not. Eventually she would have to fight her mistress' friend, Yukari Yakumo, and it was through her that she found the culprit, Suika Ibuki, and slashed her to pieces... so what happened in her story mode scenerio anyway.
Imperishable Night saw Youmu concerned about the false moon and going with her mistress to bring it back. Yuyuko, on the other hand, thought it to be a food tour and wanted a dragon dish at the end of it, the dragon dish being Kaguya. Their story saw them returning the full moon and then returning to Hakugyokorou of course.
Youmu tried to be docile and inactive during Phantasmagoria of Flower Viewing, but because of the events of Perfect Cherry Blossom, people actually called her and her mistress out as the culprits, forcing Youmu to defend herself against them. She went down to Gensokyo to see the events for herself, but she wasn't really all that bothered with it.
Youmu's latest appearence was in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. In Youmu's story mode, the number of ghosts in Hakugyokorou have been dissipating and Youmu wants to find out why. After consulting Reimu and Komachi about it, Yukari intercedes and gives Youmu a hint that sends her to the Heavens to face the Celestial, Tenshi Hinanai, and put an end to her foolishness.
