Mary grimaced, looking down at Perceval as he sobbed over the body of Masahiro, obviously someone he was close to. Knowing the feeling firsthand, she wanted to comfort him, but only risked a few pats to the shoulder in the currently tense situation. She ground her teeth together, waiting for the blast to come, wondering if she could maybe block it with what was left of her shield. Then, without warning, Mary stood there and watched as guns began flying through the air, her jaw dropped and eyes wide. Not only were guns floating around, but bullets were bouncing off of nothing, though she thought she caught glimpses of something every now and then.
Squinting and frowning a bit, she decided to act now and ask questions later, eager to take advantage of the momentarily turned tables. However, before Mary could even make a move, more people- if you could call them that- appeared and tore through the soldiers with ease. She sighed and rolled her eyes, wondering where all of these allies had been a minute ago. Glancing around, she realized that attacking any of the soldiers would be pointless, seeing as half of them had given up already. However, Mary did see an opportunity lying on the ground for her, and she walked over to the lead hunter's unconscious form with a smirk.
Pulling in a breath, she let it out with a slow and practiced ease, effectively freezing the man to the ground from his shoulders all the way down to his ankles. Whipping around to direct her icy glare on the remaining soldiers, she dropped the remnants of her ice shield directly onto the hunter's face with a pleasant thud and stuck her spearpoon into the grass. "Unless anyone else wants an ice blanket, I suggest you drop your weapons and surrender. Of course, there's always the chance you could be cut to pieces instead. Your choice," Mary snapped coldly, satisfied by the sound of metal weapons hitting the grass.
((Lol, you guys have so many characters here. XD I feel like I should bring in some more of my own....))

(no pressure, no pressure! XD I've felt that way in the big plot with Gantz and FF; they have all these characters and all I've got is Edd XDDDD)
In response to Mary's threat, those who yet had their lives and consciousness wisely backed off. A few of the more cowardly ones dashed away screaming.
As the group began to disperse, a chuckle vibrated through the air at Felix's words. Beside him, Double D materilaized, coated in a thin, swirling film that also disappeared quickly, and he clutched at his head slightly. "..ahh... takes a little more out of me, but that's nothing practice won't improve."
Fletcher blinked, then gradually lowered his guard, sighing. "...not a moment too soon, I see."
"I-I'm sorry, Fletcher," Double D turned to apologize. "We came as soon as I felt Percevel was in a deep enough danger that he needed help for." He nodded to Felix. "If you could take care of the leader of this group--and please don't be too graphic with it--there are those who need my help."
"(sniff)... (sniffle)...!" Percevel sobbed quietly, clinging to his Guardian tightly, and Double D quickly returned the hug. The two breifly spoke to each other in French, establishing what had happened, and Double D's gaze quickly turned to Masahiro, frowning and grimacing slightly at his condition.
"...aidez-le s'il vous plaît," Percy whimpered.
"Evidemment," Double D breathed, his hands glowing gently as he rested them on Masahiro's bosom. "...Masahiro? Can you hear me? Are you still with us?"

Felix nodded to Double D and walked over to the leader, grabbing his neck and dragging him by it, strangling him and cutting off his supply of air, giving him a bloodless kill. When Felix could feel the man's heart no longer beating, he dropped him and let him hit the ground hard. "Not graphic, like you asked... unless you count the bruises as bad," Felix said to his lover. No chuckle followed the joke. Death was never funny business, just necessary sometimes.
"Took you... long enough..." Masahiro breathed. "You're lucky... I don't... die easy... otherwise..."
"Save your strength," Felix said. "Talk when we get you healed up... King, I brought him along because he was talking about you... Do you know him?"
"He's... one of my compatriots from the old days... one of the ones that was... killed by Lawrence," King said.
"Yeah. I'm his Queen... or at least I was. Nice to know King went and found himself another man. If I came back to life to find him sulking, I'd probably have to kick his ass to help him move on, know what I mean? Don't like seeing my former man sulk like that, ya know?" Queen sighed and ruffled his hair... or what was there to ruffle. It was very short. Felix wanted to call stereotype on the author, but the ghettoness could get much work and I want some intelligence, so let's go with what we've got, damn you.

((I'll probably bring in some more characters, but not right now. Not the best timing.))
"....cowards...." Mary muttered when a few of the soldiers ran, glancing over the rest before turning her attention to all of the new people she'd met so quickly and harshly. Frowning behind her scarf, which wasn't quite fitting for the warm day, she pulled her heavy coat a bit tighter around herself. "Okay. You helped them. Now would be the time to leave.... but, damnit, I don't even know where I am...." she whispered, sighing. Mary looked at each of them in turn, wondering who would be the best to start questioning. Masahiro and King were too injured, Percy and Double D were busy with Masahiro, and she'd only met Felix and Queen about five seconds ago.
That left Fletcher, obviously, who seemed to be relatively uninjured and mostly just standing there; perfect. Rubbing her gloved hands together in an effort to warm them, Mary made her way over to the brunette, pulling her hat down a bit lower over her head. "Hey, I didn't quite catch your name. Okay, so I didn't catch any names.... But I did say I had some questions after we were done fighting. I know it's probably not the best time, but I just fell out of the sky, so I think I should at least be able to know where I fell to." Her discomfort around so many powerful strangers at once was obvious; she'd stayed far longer than she normally would have, talked with these people too much already. She glanced at Perceval and grimaced, the expression once again thankfully hidden by her scarf. 'Can't get attached.... can't get attached.... can't get attached....' she thought, repeating the mantra in her head.

Double D winced a little; well, he did say not too graphic, but... oh well. Focus. Focus on Masahiro. After all, he wasn't the only one that needed healing. His glowing hands only withdrew on the occassion when he drew the many bullets out from under the angel's skin, casting them aside and returning to seal the wounds. One hand began to linger over Masahiro's face in attempt to heal his eye. "So... how long did you intend to keep this transformation hidden from us? You know we could've help you..."
"So... you're Queen." Fletcher nodded in greeting, keeping a hand on King's shoulder if he needed it. "It's... good to finally meet you."
He straightened up at the gruff voice nearby, and turned to Mary. "Oh... yes, I apologize. Much is happening all at once." He bowed smally in greeting. "My name is Fletcher Skylark. And it seems in one of the many cases we've been having lately, you've stumbled upon a portal that has led you to Dimensional Island, the crossroad between countless worlds." He cocked his head. "...though I'm sure based on your demonstration, I can guess the world you've come from is no different from ours."

"As long as it took me to master it, to where I wouldn't drive you insane by accident... but they negated my power. I don't know if I'll have it when the transformation is complete. A part of my body is evil now. When I'm finished the transformation, I'll be powerless sans my eye because I'll no longer be able to use light magic, nor will I be able to use dark, and I am unable to use Twilight like Felix." Masahiro sighed. "Basically... I'm going to be a mess."
"Thanks for takin' care of King while I was gone. Can't be there when you're dead after all. If I had been alive and King woulda found you, I'd mighta be pissed, but it ain't cheatin' if you find someone when your other lover dies, so... there ain't much else I can do," Queen said with a shrug. "Gotta go back and find the others anyway. They might also be alive."
"Oh... r-really?" King stuttered.

"Don't worry about it," Mary muttered in response to the apology, saying nothing else as she listened carefully to Fletcher's explanation. She thought she'd heard that name a few times before, but she couldn't remember from where or what it had been related to. Though, now it was pretty obvious; the boy was a super child like herself and had probably done some heroic deeds himself before getting sucked to this place. The explanation was pretty hard to believe, but then so was most of the stuff Mary had seen so far, and it would explain the sudden change in scenery. Sighing heavily at the rather discouraging answer to her inquiry, her hands clenched into light fists at her sides.
"Probably not- fifteen minutes ago I was on Earth. Now I'm here, in some weird dimensional hub? That's just great.... No wonder half of the things I've seen seem impossible...." she groaned. Mary reached up, ruffling what could be seen of her brunette locks in frustration. "Of course life couldn't just be easy for once. Please tell me there's a way to go back.... I mean, since you've obviously been here for a while, it doesn't seem likely. Since you wouldn't just stay, right? I mean.... geez, I'm not used to having to talk for so long with the same person. Christ." About halfway through her rant her voice lowered into a half-audible mumble as she muttered sulkily to herself, extremely uncomfortable with the situation. She couldn't remember the last time she'd stayed with anyone long enough to even get their name, let alone start rambling.

Double D withdrew slightly, finishing his task, and bit his lip at Masahiro's words. "This... is because of the failed pregnancy, isn't it?" He shut his eyes in remorse. "Oh, dear... there has to be something we can do..."
Fletcher allowed the two their moment together, nodding to Queen. This newcomer he was speaking with seemed to be growing rather upset. Innocently, he extended a hand and placed it assuringly on her shoulder. She may have been around his age, but he met her gruffness with a patience beyond his years.
"Please, don't worry yourself. If you must know, it is our choice to stay here. There is an Interdimensional Travel Station in the city if you want so terribly to return home." He paused. "But at least grace us with your name. Else I'd just have to stick with calling you the Super Child of Ice over and over."

"I think Shadow was right after all," Masahiro said. "I had hoped, before the miscarraige, that I might be able to raise the child right. I was wrong. She aimed to make sure the child would be evil by pumping me full of dark energy as well. When the miscarraige happened, the dark energy, with nowhere else to go, infused itsself into me." He groaned and sighed. "There's no hope for me, it seems. I'm becoming a monster all over again."
"Actions make the monster, not looks," Queen said, crossing his arms. "Lawrence was as much a man as me, yet that fucker was insane! Bitch was hella worse then you could ever be."
"You have no idea," Masahiro said, looking at Queen. "But I've mended my ways from before and have gotten over the past... or, at least, I told myself that."

It was obvious that Fletcher's move was an innocent gesture of kindness, even the blind would see that. Mary's mind registered this, but her conditioned nerves and personality reacted in the opposite way her brain told her would be appropriate. She flinched incredibly badly, jerking out of Fletcher's hand with enough speed and force to practically tear the appendage off. She took a full step back away from him, discomfort and distrust showing in her eyes more than the expected fear or rejection. Swallowing down her gasp, Mary silently cursed at her behavior and tugged a little on her scarf.
She sighed in relief at Fletcher's words, and instantly felt even more guilty for what she'd done. "Oh, good. You really had me worried for a second there...." she muttered in reply. Mary's discomfort obviously doubled when the inquiry about her name was made, her gloved hands reaching up to tug the scarf slightly higher in front of her face. "I told you, just call me Frost. I.... appreciate the help, Fletcher. But are your friends all right?"

Fletcher raised a brow. No one named their kid Frost before knowing about her predicted powers, unless it was a tribal name, and he'd come across that before, but this young woman hardly fit the tribal look. Still, she must've had her reasons for an alias, and so he let it go, following her gaze to his companions. "They seem alright to me... yet..." At Masahiro's words, Double D found himself... growing perturbed. Did Masahiro not learn ANYTHING from their expierence with Kyle? From ANY of the experiences they had had?? Deadly serious, the Angel of Light leaned in close and muttered to the other angel in French. "Ne soyez pas un imbécile. Les pouvoirs sombres ou pas, nous ne vous permettrons pas de devenir un monstre. Votre manque de foi en ceux près de vous devient agaçant." (if you want to know what he's saying, use this translator: translation2.paralink.com/ )

Masahiro stared at Double D intently, then suddenly thumped on the nose. "I didn't say I was going to become emo and leave again," he said with a groan. "I just said I wish this wasn't happening. But there's nothing anyone can do about it, so... please... Do not misjudge me. I already swore to Percy that I would not leave him after last time." He then picked himself up and weakly trudged over to Percy before falling onto him, still too light for even the small child to be budged, and looked at Double D, wrapping his arms around the white haired childs chest. "I am his, after all," he told the guardian angel. "Why would I leave him again?"
"That's cute," Queen said with a snicker. "Reminds me of Jack and Deuce."
"Ah... y-yeah," King said.

Mary saw the raised eyebrow, sensed his suspicion, but mustered up her courage and shrugged it off. He could be suspicious about her name and actions as much as he wanted, he could even quesiton her about them for all she cared. She hadn't heard her real name spoken since her brother's death, and she didn't plan on changing the trend any time soon. Just because Mary would have to spend an unusual amount of time with these people, had learned their names, that didn't mean she had to get close. It was bad enough that she'd let that Percy kid tug on a few of her heartstrings, that she'd let him cling to her.
Sighing into the soft folds of her scarf, she followed Fletcher's gaze to look over the group of oddballs she now found herself in. "From your explanation.... I'm guessing that these all aren't super children. Obviously not even from our dimension...." Mary muttered, half to herself and half to the only person on the field who seemed to have acknowledged her presence. That was fine, in fact it was better than everyone noticing her; less chance of getting closer, getting attached. "But what do you mean by 'yet?' Is there something else wrong with your friends?"

Double D looked on as the two of them cuddled, smiling softly. "...you dope. That thought hadn't even occured to me." He took their hands, helping them stand. "I just want you to know that you're not, and never will be, alone. I know firsthand what it is to become a physical monster, and how others' compassion helped me in my time of need. So we'll be here for you as well, all of us."
Fletcher only smiled at Mary's question. "...nevermind. It looks like they'll see things through." He approached them. "Ahh, are you done healing him, Eddward? There are others who need you."
"Ahh! Yes! I'm sorry!" Noticing King, he hurried over and started working on his wounds. "Are you alright? I'll have this bullet out of your leg in no time."

"A bullet to the heart hurts more then a bullet to the leg," King said simply.
Queen hissed in some sort of pain and said, "Don't remind me of that. I nearly cried myself into unconsciousness, I thought you were a goner. Where is Lawrence anyway? That fucker's as good as dead when I..."
"Funny that... he IS dead," King said. "He joined up with this other group and pulled one of their weapons on Fletcher, but I managed to shoot him in the head... he was dreadfully easy here compared to how he was back home though. Something tells me he may come back."
"That's the problem with psychotic fuckers like Lawrence," Queen agreed. "They never seem to go the fuck away."
