“Location confirmed. 23 miles due west of our current position.”
“Situation?”
“Two heathens, with two nons. Appear to be at leasure.”
“Surround them. Kill them both, and the other two if they resist. Deliver His justice.”
“In His God’s name!”
It had been a long while since they had stepped back into the city. Not until there was no trace of Desmond left. The city had gone on with its business as if nothing terrible had happened at all...
A trip outside Bonsai Village was... refreshing. Fletcher would never admit it, but he heavily disliked staying in one place without getting anything productive done; the natural anxiety of a leader. But today... today was a day for themselves. A day for him, for King, who held his hand sweetly. For Percy, and for his dear Masahiro, who had finally started walking again...
"...I can see why Felix seeks sanctuary here," he finally noted. "It's a lovely area."

"A nice place. A peaceful little sanctuary. I will admit... I'm glad for the time off," Masahiro said.
"After what happened before, you could use the rest," King admitted. "The atmosphere around here seems nice for that."

Ever one with a bright face, Percy smiled lovingly up at Masahiro, leaning in close. Fletcher found himself smiling at the scene. Everything was picturesque.
None of them saw the figures behind the trees, or in the branches above. These people were trained assassins.

"I feel uneasy," Masahiro said. "The chaos in this place is too... apparant... Everytime we see a nice moment like this... something bad is usually on the horizon."
"Don't be so paranoid," King said to Masahiro with a soft smile. "On a day like this, nothing can go wrong."
"Does Murphy's Law exist in your world King? Those words are always the prelude to bad tidings. Let us only hope you speak truth," Masahiro said.

"You feel... uneasy?" Fletcher's light mood gradually began to fall. Angels had an impressive sense of danger, he was beginning to learn; brushing it off would not be wise.
Then again... He hadn't seen King smile like this in a long while...
"...well, let's not lower our guard... just to be safe..."

Masahiro, unconvinced that everything was ok, cuddled Perceval close. His wings were hidden in his shirt, drawn in due to a certain change that one of them was going through, and he hadn't wanted the others to worry. It started sometime after the miscarraige. He hadn't worried too much about it, but things started to change and then he found he had to hide his wings and wear an eyepatch. No one questioned him about it. Nobody wanted to. They figured it was just something to do with the baby being gone.
He looked around, keeping Perceval close, and looked at the branches. They seemed to move, but even Masahiro wasn't scared enough to think they were assassins. Probably birds... squirrels... something like that, Masahiro thought.

Trying to be cautious, Fletcher still tried to loosen up, taking King's hand again.
The second he heard that soft, warming-up whine, he instantly released King's hand. He went for his weapon, but it was already too late.
The white-hot pain came too soon. Fletcher and Percevel cried out in unspeakable pain as the special lightning spiked out from the trees.

"PERCY!"
"FLETCH!"
The two having screamed their lovers names, they immediately took action. While King grabbed his gun and shot into the trees, Masahiro set up shields of light around both Perceval and Fletcher and then yelled, "Come out cowards or I'll chase you into the trees!"

Cries rendered through the air as Fletcher and Percevel weren't the only ones to hit the ground. Bodies dropped out of the trees like flies where King had shot into, sparking more shouts of surprise.
"What!?! What's happening!?"
"The other two... are not affected!?!"
"No!! It... it can't be!!"

"Ha!" Masahiro smirked. "Were you expecting us to be Super Children too?"
"Awww, sorry I'm a regular human," King sneered, happy for once that he was underpowered and finally able to help as a simple human.
"And though I may not be human myself, I am no Super Child. But I don't think I'll have to show myself off to defeat you cads," Masahiro said, looking at the Tribunal agents over.

As the buzz in Fletcher's head began to soften, he was surprised to find himself reletively in one piece. He heard the agents moan in pain around him, the weapons dropping from their hands.
...oh, of COURSE King and Masahiro wouldn't be affected. They...
In his weak glance up at King, he went rigid when he saw a dark figure approaching behind him, a glinting knife slowly raised...
"...L...lo...!" Fletcher gasped, throwing a trembling hand up. Dammit, he hated being this vulnerable...!

King turned slowly to look at his lover with a smile and noticed the dark figure. With a loud cry, he shot at least three rounds at the knife while Masahiro turned and raised a shield around Fletcher and Perceval again, this time keeping his attention on having the shield raised.

High above the park, one of the island's many random portals suddenly ripped open the sky and deposited yet another unlucky soul into the dimension. Mary shrieked as she suddenly found herself plummeting, having been skating through Montana mere seconds ago. For a few moments, instinctive panic overtook her, and she desperately flailed her limbs in a horrible attempt to either fly or slow her descent. When neither occurred, she finally seemed to come back to herself and instantly relaxed, quickly reaching up to place a gloved hand on her hat so that it wouldn't fly off. Mary knew she didn't have a lot of time with the ground growing ever nearer, and immediately tugged down her scarf a bit with her free hand.
Shifting and twisting her body so that it was belly down, she took a deep breath and let out a steady stream of ice below her. She instantly faceplanted into it, but didn't waste any time and lifted her head to continue freezing the air into a sort of slide. Mary didn't exactly enjoy sliding about on her stomach like a penguin, but it was better than smashing into the park below. Keeping the stream steady and only taking short breaths, she planted her gloved hands down onto the ice and worked to push herself into a kneeling position. All the while she continued to descend, circling above the park like a hawk.
Speaking of the bird of prey, Mary wound up with one in her face; she'd been too focused on kneeling and hadn't paid attention to the sky. She yelped and shouted curses as the hawk clawed at her face, beating at the bird with her hands until it flew off with an annoyed screech. She let out a sigh of relief.... only to realize that she'd stopped freezing the air during the skirmish. Mary screamed again, but before she could repeat her earlier method, she crashed into a clump of trees with all the racket of an elephant in a grocery store. Unknowingly, she wound up knocking one of the assassins from his perch, taking his place on the large branch on her stomach.
"Oooh.... not one of my better landings.... I hate birds...." she groaned, shaking the dizzyness from her skull.

"…unngh…" Percevel groaned, still twitching a little from the staggering pain. But everyone still looked okay; King and Masahiro did it! They protected them!
After hearing another thud in the grass close by, Percy jumped a little. He was afraid to look up; was it another Tribunal creep they were forced to subdue? Still, he braved a glance, and was rather surprised to instead see a girl (probably Fletcher’s age) collapsed right beside him. Their faces were pretty close, actually.
"…oh!" he managed in surprise.
Elsewhere, nearby, but out of the firing range…
"Sir! The non-heathens have subdued the first fleet… but we’ve confirmed the appearance of another heathen!"
"Of COURSE you have. It’s a miracle you can READ those instruments, isn’t it?"
"…s…sir…"
"Oh, for the love of Christ… if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Ready the next wave."
"…yes, sir."

"Who the hell?" King asked, seeing the girl.
"Stand down King. Her presence indicates power. It's the same as Fletcher's and Percy's. She'll be the enemy of our enemy too, so she's our friend," Masahiro said, then examined the corpses of the first fleed. "Damnit. Just as I thought. This is the mark Trevor told me about... Tribunal."
"What?" King asked.
"The Tribunal. One night, when Trevor was drunk, he started blabbing on to me about it. Told me his parents were part of it, told me they murdered Fletcher's family... told me exactly what they are. A religious fanatic group thinking they serve our lord and father by killing innocent Super Children, branding them as heathens and destroying them for being different."
"Oh God," King said, suddenly feeling nautious. "It's... it's Lawrence and his group of homo-killing Crusaders again."
"Precisely," Masahiro said. "... You are too familiar with this kind of battle, it seems."
"Damnit!" King yelled. "God dictates this and God dictates that! God chooses who should live and God chooses who should die! Well I've had enough of this backasswards self-loathing bullshit! I have only one thing to say to your cowards! Fuck your God and fuck you!"
"I will not let you make a mockery of my king no matter how angry you are," Masahiro snarled at King. "Calm yourself and prepare for battle boy... your words will only have angered them more."
