Kyle sighed at Double D's words, and he suddenly stood up off of the bed. He held up one finger to indicate for Double D to wait a moment, and then headed out of the room. He came out as Crow was responding to Wally and Otto's comments.
"We'd have let him do it if we knew he was going to come back to life three days later," Crow was saying. "Not like everyone in this group hasn't died at least once anyways-- Eh? Kyle?"
Kyle didn't acknowledge the others' presences. He just headed straight past the group into the other room, and came out carrying Marion. He paused and looked toward the group.
"Tomorrow's laundry day. Please make sure you have your laundry ready," Kyle said, and then continued back to Double D's room. He closed the door behind him, and then walked over to Double D, handing Marion to him.
"You still have Marion," Kyle stated. "She loves you, no matter what."

Double D looked up, realizing Kyle was about to leave. He reached out to him feebly, silently begging for him not to go, but Kyle gave the sign that he would return, and he retracted his hand back to his chest, gripping at his heart. It was so very, very heavy… Would everyone else leave too? Was any relationship in life permanent? Would he ever… ever… find…
When a whimper, very similar to his own, broke the air as the door opened again, he looked up again, and for a moment, all was forgotten.
“D-Daddy!!” Marion cried out, reaching out to her father and nearly falling out of Kyle’s grip in her urgent need. “Daddy! Daddy~!”
Double D sat in utter disbelief. How could… how could he forget? How could he have lost himself so far as to forget his precious Marion? After a small pause, he reached out his shaky hands as Marion transferred hands, and she clung her arms tightly over his shoulders. A willful embrace… her warmth, in body and spirit… and Eddward didn’t feel as cold anymore.
Her light sniffles brought him out of his trance, and he held her close, rubbing her small back. “Sh-shhh… it’s okay, Marion… it’s alright…”
“Daddy…” Marion drew back, and Edd noted with grief how weary her pale blue eyes were; seemed he wasn’t the only one who had been suffering a lack of sleep. “Mommy’s… not coming back, is he?”
That fact that even she knew was sobering. Double D swallowed a pained lump in his throat, nodding. “No… he isn’t. At least… not for a very long time.”
Marion nodded tightly too, leaning her head up against her father’s chest. “…Mommy… hurt you. But… he’s hurting too.” She shut her eyes, as if she were focusing on something. “Both of you… are hurting… so bad…”
Double D wondered if, and how, she could tell, but it made sense; she was connected to both of them. Was this a beginning of aura-reading… soul-reading? It was difficult to tell in this stage, but… she was right. Even if Felix had left of his own will, the separation would still be eating at him as well. It HAD to, they were bonded by soul. They each held a piece of one another; he could still feel the name Lillx flittering about deep within him, wondering where the rest of it went. And that meant… Felix still had a piece of Ddwen himself. No wonder Eddward felt incomplete.
“Daddy…” Once again, Marion broke his train of thought, and looked up at him as if knowing what he was thinking of. “…please. I don’t want you to hurt anymore.”
After a moment of silence, Double D got out a nod. “I’ll… try.”
Marion was completely compliant as her father handed her back to Kyle and stood from his bed. He regarded his devoted friend with a mix of apology and honest gratitude for everything he had done, and whatever embarrassment he had endured, on his behalf. “…thank you, Kyle.”
He took a minute to get his balance back after being off of them for a while, and for the first time in days, he left his bedroom.
He almost passed through the living room like a ghost. Those that were still there and not attending to the wall in the other room did an honest-to-god double take.
“W-wha…. Hey! Sockhead!” Eddy sped up to him, tempted to greet him rambunctiously like normal, but he resisted the urge after getting a look at his expression of melancholy. “Uh… you… okay?”
“…Mmn,” Double D grunted. His voice was stale as he continued. “…forgive me, I’m… going out. I need more time to think, and my room is getting too stifling.”
Raz nodded in agreement. “Sounds good. You need an escort or anything?”
“No… I’ll be keeping to the eastern side.”
“Will you be… back in time for dinner, Double D?” Ed ventured meekly, knowing full well that his little buddy hadn’t been eating much lately; the leftovers he always cleaned up were proof of that.
Double D thought carefully on this… but doubt quickly left him. Even if part of him was gone… he had others who cared. Others to love. He was… glad to finally see that, and it lifted his heart ever so slightly. Slowly, he nodded. “…I will.”

(Aaaaand after "Set Me Free"...)
Well... seeing their grief-stricken friend get up and out of the house for a little bit of reflecting was enough to put anyone in a better mood. The wall was quickly reaching the end of repairs as the smell of pasta sauce flooded from the kitchen.
And just in time, too. Once again, the front door opened. Some flinched and instinctively fell into defensive poses for whoever could've been barging in THIS time, but...
"...Double D!" Eddy didn't rush up this time. Best to... take it slow, as much as it was his nature not to. Edd still looked mildly frail. "...hey. Um... how was your, uh, flight?"
Edd thought about this, then gave out a smile. It was still weak and not at its former brillance, but it was his first smile they'd seen on his face since Felix had left. "It went well. I was able to clear my head a bit..." It fell breifly as he reagrded everyone else. "I'm... so sorry, I didn't want to make everyone worry, and... I suppose I messed that up too."

"Not exactly," Trevor said, rubbing the back of his head. "I mean... maybe some of us worried a little, but... we know you're tough, Double D. We know you can handle yourself, so... there's nothing to worry about there."
"You're not screwing up anything," King said. "None of this is your fault. It won't do you well to think that, take it from someone who's been there. It's good you've cleared your head up though. That always helps."

"Indeed it does." Otto grinned lightly, looking up from the copy of 'Art of War by Sun Tzu' he had been reading. "Glad to see your in a better mood considering."
Wally was equally glad to see Double D. Grinning from ear to ear, he stretched as he got out of his chair, lightly popping his back back into place. "Me too mate. Not to worry by the by, Little Marion has been a just a peach for us." Scratching behind his head, he chuckled. "So how was the flight?"

Kyle had been waiting in the living room, watching Crow and the others finish up repairs while he waited for Double D. After a while, he'd gotten up and gone to help make dinner, since he wasn't much help the way he was at the moment.
When the door opened again, Crow went on the defensive, but relaxed when she saw who it was. Kyle rushed out of the kitchen as he heard Double D's voice.
"It's okay. It's not your fault at all," Kyle said. He had a smile on his face as he walked closer to Double D.
Crow frowned at the Sockhead. Something was different... so, he'd met up with dickwad, then. From the looks of things, they'd given their soul names back to each other.
....And how had she known that.

Edd let out an inward smile at all the replies. Of course, everyone was all so forgiving... he was still a little regretful, wishing Felix had the same... but he didn't bring him up. Everyone looked to be in a better mood, so there was no point in stoking the flames.
“Ahhh… it was refreshing,” he answered Wally. “And with my head a little clearer, I came to a few conclusions that I would like to—“
“Double D!! You’re just in time!” Ed chorused as he leaped out of the kitchen, pulling his friend in eagerly. “Dinner’s just about ready!”
“Aha, yes, I can tell.” He caught a whiff of what was cooking and immediately realized his hunger. “Smells delectable. I would… appreciate if we all ate together for the night. To discuss things and, of course, enjoy everyone’s company.”

"I wholeheartedly agree," Trevor said. "I would not wish for the fair prince's mood to be spoiled."
"Oh, so the first moments of... I mean..." Finding no way to state Double D's current situation without sounding like an asshole, King defaulted to saying, "You're really gonna flirt with him?"
"Beauty must be called when seen. Matilde is often reminded of this," Trevor said. In a way, though, he decided to flirt on impulse when seeing Double D's lightened mood because he wanted to lighten everyone else's mood, get them acting normal again. He hoped that his sudden acting of his normal self would help them get back to their normal selves. For King, it seemed to be working a bit.
"This isn't the time to joke around," he said to Trevor with a facepalm. "There are actual concerns to worry about and you..."
"... are the comic relief narcissitic character who is utterly sexy and flirtuitous, yet probably doomed to be single all his life," Trevor said, finishing King's sentence for him while utterly breaking the fourth wall.
Far off, at his desk, Michael looked at the fourth wall and uttered only one word.
"Fuck!"

Kyle just continued to smile, following Double D into the kitchen when Ed pulled him in. "I helped make dinner tonight. I made Ed wash his hands, too, just in case."
Crow facepalmed at Trevor and King's conversation. "I don't recommend hitting on sockhead right now, anyways. Mr. I'm-Totally-Not-Gay-For-Edd will probably murder you for even thinking of it."
She headed toward the table and pulled off her hat as she sat down. Fallen angel or not, she had some manners.

(BEWARE, long post ahead XD I just want to get this out there, I’ll leave holes where your characters can add their comments. Gantz goes after me, okay?)
Quite honestly? Raz felt like smacking the Brit upside the head. With his giant telekinetic hand. Now was really, REALLY not the best time for…
…but before anyone else could protest Trevor’s flirting, all was forgiven when the sweet sound of Double D’s soft laughter broke the tense silence.
“A little strange, Trevor, and perhaps a bit too soon, but I appreciate the effort to lighten the mood,” he openly replied, understanding Trevor’s motive and honestly glad for it. He’d hate for the gloom for his friends--family to last much longer.
“…well, YOU’RE in a better mood,” Eddy flatly noted, blinking as Double D led the way in and waited for everyone to be seated.
“Mm. I suppose I am.” He regarded Kyle’s words and Ed’s bright smile as he lowered Marion into a high chair, and he smiled back in response. “Well, then, I’m looking forward to the meal you’ve worked hard to prepare.” He seated himself as the plates were passed out. “You’ve presented it well.”
“Okay, so…” Eddy wanted to get the dramatic stuff right out of the way first; the casual stuff was unsettling with all that emotional junk hanging in the air. He swiftly twirled pasta around his fork and shoved the chunk into the side of his mouth. “You werfte pthfaying?”
“Don’t talk with your mouth full, Eddy,” Double D reflexively chided, laying his napkin in his lap and politely removing his bandana; he was well past needing it for security’s sake, and figured everyone would forgive his mussed hair. “While I was out, I made some internal and external discoveries, and came to a few conclusions about this whole ordeal.”
“External?” Fletcher spoke up. “Am I right in assuming that means…”
Double D nodded. “I am aware Masahiro is alive. (he noted Percy perk up a little at his beloved’s mention) I felt his presence while I was out.” A few cringes of embarrassment followed, but after he took his first, grateful bite and swallowed, he went on to assure, “But believe me, I can understand why you sent him out. I know that in my state at the time, if I saw him, I… I would’ve probably…” Not wanting to elaborate, he shook his head and continued. “…you did it with my feelings at heart, and I appreciate that. However, upon self-reflection, I have reason to believe that Masahiro’s ‘death’ wasn’t the sole cause of this, and this possibility was rooted long before.”
“I can believe that,” Fleetfoot agreed. “A lot of us saw the signs in Felix a while ago.”
Double D nodded again, a bit more grimly this time. “He’s… changed. Those of you who didn’t know us for very long… well, to be frank, you hadn’t seen the Felix I had fallen in love with. Our relationship went a long ways back. Back when it was just me, Ed, Eddy, and Raz, and we had brought Felix in from the cold…” His gaze wandered off, his fork hand resting placidly next to his plate. “…during that longer length of time… well, he was just the sweetest angel you’d ever know. Shy, feminine, grateful, always expressive of his love…” He sighed fondly. “The way we had nurtured each other… those times were wonderful. Those were the reasons I had loved him, in case any of you are still wondering that.”
“Duly noted,” Fletcher commented. “I think my team would agree with me that we saw that side of Felix ourselves for a time.” He leaned forward, choosing his words carefully. “…when do YOU think it began to go downhill?”
“…it’s hard to say,” Double D admitted, forking his food a bit listlessly before twirling through it again. “Definitely a major point would have to be the conflict we had over Masahiro’s child. But I’m thinking it may have rooted around the Lucifer battle, or maybe even before that.” Another mouthful and swallow later… “One of my initial worries was that it was centered around me becoming an angel, for whatever reason I had come up with in my depressed state, I don’t even remember at this point. But I nearly forgot that during that battle, I wasn’t the only one to change.”
“Oh, yeah!” Ed perked up. “I remember! Leon died and went into Felix!”
Double D nodded, along with others as they began to see the connection. He took a drink of water while the others discussed this briefly, than continued. “Exactly. Whereas I became the Angel of Light, he became the Twilight Angel. An enormous add-on of power, if I remember correctly.” A pause. “…neither I nor Felix had ever come to such power before. I relished the more good I could do with mine, but… I don’t think he saw it the same way.”
“Y’know, I don’t even think he, or any one of us, thought about how much power Felix had,” Raz noted, pointing with his fork. “We had more attention on you ‘cause you completely changed species and had more to adapt to. Him, not so much.”
“Now that you mention it, he didn’t REALLY start acting like a little--sorry--prick, until after he got that Twilight whatever power,” Eddy added. “After that, all morality in everything he did went right out the window. It was ‘kill that spider bitch’ and ‘kill the demon baby’ and kill this and kill that and kill anything that threatened to even BREATHE on you. And I don’t think all the Wizard junk helped.”
“Hardly,” Double D agreed. “As I said earlier, I’m more inclined to believe it was all a mixture of several factors, and Masahiro’s death was the drop that broke the floodgates.” His gaze wandered to look upon the hope reflected in Percy’s eyes, and he went on. “I think we should’ve known that Masahiro would return. It’s happened before. Of course, that wouldn’t have excused Felix from his… treachery…” A soft gulp. “…but it would’ve spared a bit of pain.”
“So, what do we do about him?” Raz asked. “He came in expecting everything was fine and planned to ignore everyone except Percy.”
“Well, why not?” Double D honestly asked, gaining some odd looks. “Masahiro and Perceval were innocents embroiled in our conflict, one I should’ve seen and attempted to rectify myself. They’ve done nothing to deserve the loss of separation.” Another pause. “…and I don’t gain anything from selfishly forcing my charge to share my pain.”
He noted Percy straightening, almost fully aware of what was being said. He spoke his next words with not too harsh a tone, but one that was still quite serious. “That is why I want everyone who threw Masahiro out to aid in locating and bringing him back to my charge’s side, where he belongs. Is that absolutely clear?”

Rather then comment inbetween said pauses, Otto and Wally only listened carefully, nodding to the story Double D told in understanding. When at last it got around to the end, Otto nodded one last time. "I... See... Well if that's the case, you can count on me and Wally to look for Masahiro. We'll even get Gantz's help with it."
Wally shrugged at any questioning looks that came their way, "Just so ya know Otto, Gantz left a few days ago, saying he needed to look into some activity at... Industrial Park, was it?"
"Yeah, but we can easily find him. Not really sure what he's up to, but he left in a hurry, when he saw the article concerning what was going on." With that, he grabbed a plate full of food, and got up from where he sat. "I'll send a message to him. While you were out Double D, he taught me a little trick that would allow me to reach him no matter where he was. I can have him looking for Masahiro before the hours up."
"I can even have Kosumu and Talim helping us out." Wally grinned as he helped himself to some food, "They live in the Valley now, so I can get to them easily."

Crow scoffed. "I'll help, but only because I'm getting free room and board here. I can try asking around the black market and other shady places like that and see if anyone's seen him. At the very least, he's likely wasted at some bar somewhere."
Kyle stayed silent throughout Double D's explanation. He didn't really care about Masahiro. The man had saved his life once, but the angel's nonchalant reaction toward his death by Oni had soured Kyle's opinion of him a fair bit. Still, if Double D said they should look for him...
"Alright, I'll help look for him," Kyle said. "Um.... Double D, while we're out looking for Masahiro, can we take a small detour? I didn't mention it because I didn't want to bother you, but yesterday, I felt something... wrong. I just sensed something I need to investigate."

King remained silent. On one hand, he hated Masahiro. Come to think of it, he noticed that all of these angels were absolute assholes, except for Double D. Humans were sinners... yeah right. Double D had managed to completely subvert any idea that a human could not be an angel. Not to mention he made a better damn angel that Felix and Masahiro obviously. But if he didn't help, he knew he'd just end up like them. They didn't have any care towards anyone else. He didn't want to be like that. "I'll put it bluntly, since any other way of trying to word it would be pointless," King said. Taking a bite of steak, he swallowed and then looked at Edd. His eyes told everything as was, but he still put it into words. "I hate Masahiro. He was willing to brush everyone off just to be with Perceval. He didn't even consider to think that you were in severe pain. And I don't count him as innocent. Percy is innocent as he had no part in Masahiro's savage plan, but Masahiro put himself out there and didn't even bother to think about the consequences. I didn't see him before, this old him that you mentioned, but if it is anything like he's acting today, I'd take that as a warning. Personally I think that Masahiro is guilty, that Perceval would be better off finding a different man, and that this entire island would be better off if both Felix and Masahiro just died for good." He didn't regret what he was saying. He had to get it off his chest sooner or later. Respect for Double D kept him from insulting God, who he knew the humanized angel served, but he had no respect for the other two angels whatsoever.
"Isn't that, maybe, a little too harsh?" Trevor asked silently, stunned by King's blatant confession. It didn't surprise him too harshly though. Trevor had talks with King before. While Felix, Masahiro, Edd, and the others would save the world, the characters left behind, considered useless by the authors, would often chat with each other. Trevor had learned that King, even with proof of God's existance, still didn't like him. Rather, he found that, if God did exist, then God was a hateful tyrant who just pretended to love everybody. Trevor had never seen that before and thought that King was just overexaggerating. Now, however, he saw that King's belief was indeed true.
"But I won't deny you," King said after what seemed to be a long silence. "Since it is you asking, Edward. Every thought I've had about angels, you've proven yourself the exception to. What makes it even more ironic is that you started off 'impure' as they would put it, a 'sinful human.' Yet while they're off wallowing in their self-induced prideful despairs, here you are someone who has proven himself kind and pure-hearted as you are strong and willful." He took a sip of drink and then sighed. "You're, like, the only good angel here Double D. It just feels that every other angel in this world fucked up and needs to be erased."

Double D took everyone's words, which were all diverse in quality, with mixed reactions. He was glad for Otto and Wally's quick agreement, a little skeptical but still appreciative of Crow's promised effort, intrigued by Kyle's worry, and... well, a little stung by King's words. Despite the sobering-up this separation had given him, he was still pained by such hateful words, words that King still had the right to express.
"H-hey, now, that's~!" Raz was ready to speak up in protest, as he was really beginning to take a dislike to King's outlook on all this, but was inturrupted.
"I understand," Double D softly replied, his expression wrought with pain he held back to save face. "You have the right to feel as such. Though you know I don't agree with the 'erasing' bit of your argument, I do indeed plan to have a long, firm chat with Masahiro about his actions, which I will agree weren't the wisest choices. But just know that I'm doing this for my charge's sake. It will be Percevel's final choice whether to accept Masahiro back or not, but I would at the very least like to give them another chance."
Having said his piece on that, Double D leaned back, taking his drink in to help calm his nerves. "...either way... thank you. I... always seem to wonder what I've done to deserve my wings~"
"Oh, come on, not THIS again!" Eddy groaned, spooking some of the others with his louder voice in comparison. "Get over yourself! You saved God from that imposter, remember that!?! Or the whole things with Gantz!? Or Kyle!?"
"Yeah, quit shortchanging yourself," Fleetfoot nodded in agreement. "Whatever you've been doing, you've been doing it right, so keep at it."
Taken aback slightly, Double D quietly nodded. At Kyle's mention, he found himself turning back to him. "...and, yes, of course we can, Kyle."

In full agreement with Eddy's words, Otto nodded quickly. "Yes; and that's not even forgetting how you helped me and Wally save our valley from that horrible monster Exdeath." This was followed by Fleetfoot's words.
Now caught up with the current, Wally looked to King with a groan, but said nothing to rectify his behavior. "Anyways Double D, you've got nothing to worry about. Once I eat a little bit, I'll head out to the valley to get Kosumu and Talim. They'll be a big help in finding Masahiro."
In questioning, Otto looked to Kyle with a raised eyebrow... What could that kid have been talking about? Curious... "Something wrong? Hmmm... Would it be welcome if I accompany you? Usually anything wrong pertains to trouble."
