Full Name: Leafslash of the Autumn Leaves tribe (He's lying about his real first name)
Nicknames: Apollo
Age: 14? (Actually 13)
Height: 3'11''
Weight: 34.8 pounds
Gender: Male? (Actually female)
Race: Bayleef
Alliance: Lawful Neutral
Home: Johto region (forests way past New Bark Town)
Franchise: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Physical Description: Apollo is a Bayleef of normal size, and would blend in with a normal one had it not been for his coloring. An indicator of his tribe is that they change colors with the seasons, like how leaves do. During spring, he has a bright green body with vibrantly green leaves; during summer, he is yellow with darker green leave; during fall, he is a reddish orange with bright red leaves; and during the winter, he is a faded brown with wilted brown leaves. As the seasons change, he will be colors in-between his seasonal ones. Curiously enough, these are actually the colors of a female of his tribe. He wears a black scarf around his neck, with silver swirls that resemble plants on it, and attached to his head leaf is a silver egg-shaped badge with wings.. It functions identically to what is known as a "Focus Band" in his world, sometimes allowing him to survive an attack that would have knocked him out, though just barely. Underneath his scarf is a scar of some sort, and it looks like he was nearly decapitated.
Weapons: His body and leaves.
Abilities/Powers: His attacks;
*Leaf Storm- A massively powerful swarm of sharp leaves is summoned to attack, the attack's aftermath cuts his special attack in half. (He naturally knows this attack, won't use it unless he has to)
*Body Slam- Slamming down onto an opponent with his weight, it may induce paralysis on the victim.
*Synthesis- Restoring his hit points, it works best during daylight.
*Energy Ball- Releasing an orb of nature-based energy.
*Swagger- Enraging the opponent into confusion, though sharply boosting their attack.
*Hidden Power- Releasing a strange power to attack, in his case it is of the Fire type.
*Leech Seed- Planting seeds on an opponent that slowly leech their health and give it to Apollo.
When Apollo is in a pinch, his attacks start swinging out extra hard, provided they are of the Grass-type (in his case, Energy Ball and Leaf Storm). This is usually accompanied by his leaves glowing a bit, and his eyes glowing green. This is how his "Overgrow" ability manifests itself.
Also, he seems to strengthen and weaken with the seasons and climate. He is at his strongest in summer, and at his weakest in winter; likewise, he is stronger in warmer climates than in colder ones.
Skills: Apollo has some knowledge of leadership, honing to his training to be the next chieftain of the Autumn Leaves tribe. While he will agree on some ideas, he prefers to get his teammates' opinion instead of his opinion being final. His open-ear policy has made him a good leader in spite of his young age.
His battling style is a strange mix of offensive and defensive. Apollo normally prefers to type-trump his way to victory, with some defensive fallbacks just in case. However, he knows when he's outmatched, and generally will try to flee if he knows he cannot win.
His people skills, outside his own team, are total fail. He has severe social issues, and generally will leave them to his second-in-command.
Personality: Apollo doesn't say much. He is quiet, and keeps to himself most of the time. He doesn't like to just dive into situations, instead preferring to think it out. (He was quite impulsive when he was younger, though)
The only person who gets to see his more emotional side is his closest companion and second-in-command, Hades. He only shows what he's actually feeling around the ghost, believing that he'll be thought of as a bad leader if he goes emotional in public..
Apollo also has not one, but two "berserk buttons". Honing to a bad experience in his childhood, he absolutely hates Crawdaunts, and if he sees one, he will seem to snap as he attacks it in a brutal rage. He is also very protective of Hades, and if the little ghost is frightened, he will not hesitate to launch a series of Leaf Storms at the offender.
History: Apollo was born as Grasscall to the Autumn Leaves tribe, a fairly large group of Pokemon generally seen as "Grass-type starters". He had a Venusaur father, Petalblade, and a Meganium mother, Aromamist. He was actually the second of two children, having an older sister by one year, Leafslash. Leafslash was to become the next chieftain following Petalblade, but he wasn't satisfied with that.
Grasscall was a rather rebellious child, more interested in "radical" ideas. He spent most of his lessons daydreaming about the world outside the forest his tribe lived in, and his free time was spent playing with the other kids and his sister instead of studying like he was supposed to. Petalblade called him out on this, practically pleading at the end, saying he needed a male heir to carry on the tribe after he died.
Grasscall met up with Leafslash after the talk he had with his father. Because they were only a year apart, the two siblings looked very much alike. They swapped identities, Grascall becoming Leafslashl and Leafslash becoming Grasscall. This new Leafslash then ran away from home, while the new Grasscall took the old Leafslash's place. "Leafslash" was only five, and "Grasscall" was only six.
He ended up running away to the outskirts of Violet City, making sure to avoid humans, as he was a rather uncommon Pokemon that eventually became a powerful fighter. The first thing Leafslash noticed was a Gastly that kept flying in and out of the Sprout Tower, and didn't have a hard time keeping an eye on him, because he was a bright orange instead of the usual purple and black. This kept up for a few days, until he noted that the Gastly stopped appearing. Curious, he set out to the connecting route south of Violet City.
He was shocked at what he saw. The orange Gastly was being pummeled by a trio of Crawdaunts, seemingly to death (or whatever the ghost version of death is). He was abhorred, and jumped into the action. Using his natural Leaf Storm attack, he succeeded in fighting off two of them, but one of them survived, and clamped one of his pincers tight around Leafslash's neck. He swore he was going to die, had the Gastly not regained its strength to fight back, using a Hypnosis attack to lure the attacker to sleep. Released from the death grip, he lost consciousness, and swore he wasn't going to wake up.
... However, he did wake up. More specifically, near a lakeside, and the first thing he saw in front of him was an orange Gastly- the same one from earlier! He said he was named Pepsci, and that he saved him- Or rather, did so with help from his friends. A silver-white Magikarp named Flip splashed water onto him, a tiny Spearow named Hawk brought him healing herbs, and a brownish Vulpix named Violet carried him to the lakeside. Leafslash found himself in debt to these four, and decided he might as well stay around to repay his debt.
That lasted only one year. He was only seven when he heard news of a gang of Pokemon lead by a Skarmory was passing through the area, and wouldn't take well to anyone who got in their way. Leafslash ignored suggestions to run away, and ended up fighting the leader herself- a Skarmory with a wooden leg. While he tried his best, he ended up losing the fight and was thrown into a tree, knocked out... but not before launching a Razor Leaf at one of her eyes. He remembers pained shrieks from the metal bird.
When he woke up, he found out he wasn't on the route anymore- rather, it looked like some sort of park. Flip explained that their home was completely devastated, and that they had to run. This was the closest area that could support all of them, so it had to do. Leafslash decided they would be safer if they were closer, and thus, came the birth of Team Mythos.
Two years went by, and by now Flip had evolved into a Gyarados... meaning they had to find a larger place to support the newly-evolved sea serpent. Leaving under the cover of the night, they failed to notice a Scyther following them. They settled down near the Lake of Rage, more than big enough to support Flip. They thought they had seen enough for one lifetime.
But alas, that same Scyther just had to appear, wanting revenge for a prank Pepsci had pulled on her a while back. While she tried to fight the Gastly alone, the team, led by Leafslash, declared that if she wanted to hurt one of them, she'd have to hurt them all. She knew she was beat, and surrendered. Leafslash, to everybody's surprise, forgave her, and asked her to stay. This Scyther, named Carol, was equally surprised, but decided she had nothing better to do.
Leafslash awoke one morning to a bird's shriek, and found a Skarmory staring down on him. Its wooden leg told him that this was the same one from several years ago, and that she wanted revenge for her eye. Leafslash nearly had one of his eyes poked out, and only survived because of a Thunder attack scaring her off. When the rest of the team woke up, he told them they had to run away, to a distant land. He explained they were in danger, and would be safer if they changed their names. Pepsci, now eight, was now Hades; Flip, now fifteen, became Poseidon; Hawk, now fourteen, was now Hermes; Carol refused to change her name because he had not been seen; and Leafslash became Apollo.
After two years of running around, the team settled down in the Hoenn region, close to the sea. On this long journey, Apollo had evolved into a Bayleef, and Hades into a Haunter. Just as they were settled down and built a base, they noticed a Manectric appear before them, this one looking almost black and white, and quite muscular. Expecting another attack, they made a preemptive strike on him. After a series of "yeows", he eventually said he came in peace, and that he was named Zeus. He offered himself to the team. Apollo realized that this had to be the one that saved him from the Skarmory two years ago, and telling the team that he was a friend, accepted Zeus onto the team.
It was a cold winter night, when the team was bundled up together for warmth in their base, when there was a massive earthquake. The ground below them started to sink into portals, and one by one, all seven of them were swallowed up, and spit out onto the Dimensional Island.
Other: Yes, I'm aware of the mind screwy-ness of this guy. It'll be explained later. (think Mion and Shion Sonozaki for now, except that this was of their own consent)
The Island's auto-translate features works on him.
