"It's a really long story, Kanji! Malik and his family have been through a lot!" Yuugi paused as Naoto asked him his question. He looked over at Jounouchi as he realized what he had to say next. K1 was his friend, but... he let out a sigh, "I think Malik's evil personality attacked K2-kun and Atsuro-kun. I can't be sure, but I think he may have been responsible for the recent torture deaths, too."
Jounouchi's eyes widened, "Wait, you mean he attacked that Abel guy!?"
"I don't know why, K1-kun didn't seem like he wanted to talk..." Yuugi shook his head, "Naoto-kun, Kanji-kun, do you know about Souji-kun?"

Atem's eyes widened as Haytham delivered his line. Why it was his duty...? It was his duty because he'd made it his duty. His father had tried to spare him it, but it hadn't been enough. Some of the blame could be laid on Anpu's shoulders, true, but the bottom line was the world would be in danger if the Items remained. He'd let his emotions cloud his judgment on that. Haytham too the silence as an opportunity to continue.
< "It's because only the master of the Items can do so. The Pharaoh whose duty is to protect the people. You're aware that by forsaking that you've left a curse upon the world, right? Pharaoh, you will die someday. Your... "Partner" will die someday. Zorc's essence remains, split into seven parts. Were you aware of that?">
Atem looked startled, and then shook his head, < "You're telling me that he could come back?" >
< "No, Pharaoh. I'm telling you he will." >

Naoto diverted her attention toward the other bedroom for a moment. No, they were still talking in Ancient Egyptian (she had no confirmation it was that, but considering the involved parties, she could guess). She looked back toward Yuugi as he explained what had happened to Keiji and Atsuro.
She shook her head at Yuugi's question. Kanji's eyes widened at it. Something had happened to Souji? Why the hell hadn't anyone told them?!
"W-Well, what happened to Souji-sempai?!" Kanji asked in his typical loud manner.

Yuugi looked away as Kanji yelled. He didn't flinch, he just looked uncomfortable. That... a lot. He swallowed. Souji was alright for the time being, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was in trouble. He had attacked Adachi. The short teenager felt the entire scene play through his head before looking back up.
"H-he... Well..." Yuugi wasn't really sure where to start. Anzu looked even more pained than he did, and Jounouchi was watching him closely. The blond opened his mouth to speak when Yuugi finally found words, "Adachi-san shot Izanami-san."

Atem wanted to think Haytham was lying. He couldn't delude himself that far. The man had no reason to lie. He didn't seem to be trying to shove the point that he was the head of the Ancient Egyptian pantheon like Asim had.
< "What good does telling me this do?" >
Haytham shook his head and leaned back. What good? It all depended on how quickly that essence gathered. The door remained open, the lock that the keys were meant to fit into remained unsealed. Haytham's eyes went to the Ring around Atem's neck.

Naoto and Kanji both froze at Yuugi's words. Kanji was gaping, and Naoto was trying to find words.
"He... shot Izanami?" Naoto finally said.
"What the hell?! Why the hell did Adachi do that?!" Kanji yelled. "Why was Izanami even here, anyways?!"
Naoto didn't answer Kanji's question. Fact was, she could think of a few reasons... at least two of them were Souji related.

"It wasn't Adachi-san! It was Izanagi-san! I think he was trying to... kill Souji..." Yuugi shook his head, "Izanami-san got in the way to save him!"
"Yuugi's trying to explain the situation, why don't you just be quiet!" Jounouchi snapped at Kanji. Didn't the guy see Yuugi was having enough trouble getting this out?
"S-Souji-kun got... really mad at Adachi-san. When me and Atem got there after the gunshot, Teddie-kun was pulling Souji-kun off Adachi-san..."

Atem looked down at the Ring. "Those" could only mean one thing. He wasn't sure how that related to his question. He looked up.
< "My Partner has the Pendant. The only one that hasn't found its way to me is the Torque." >
Haytham stood up straighter and narrowed his eyes. Atem returned the look with a flat stare of his own. What was the man thinking. The Egyptian looked towards the living room, his angle allowing him to just see a few of the group. He turned back towards Atem and spoke in serious and virtually unarguable monotone.

"You tryin' to start something?!"
Kanji was glaring daggers at Jounouchi. This guy was seriously starting to piss him off, and Kanji was almost to the point of going to beat Jounouchi up himself. Admittedly, Jounouchi would probably be a bit of a match for him, but Kanji really didn't care right now.
"Kanji, stop it!" Naoto yelled at Kanji. Kanji shot one last glare at Jounouchi before bringing his attention back to what Yuugi was saying. Kanji's eyes widened.
"Sempai... attacked Adachi?!" Kanji breathed.
"That doesn't make sense. Souji-sempai hates Izanami, so there would be no reason for him to attack Adachi for killing Izanami," Naoto said. As much as Souji hated both Izanagi and Adachi, Naoto knew Souji wouldn't attack Adachi like that. It just didn't make sense.

"Jounouchi, shut up and sit down! You're not helping Yuugi either!" Honda stated. Jounouchi shot him a glare, but seemed to accept the criticism.
Anzu frowned and looked down at her feet, holding the bag closer. Why was everyone fighting like this!? They couldn't expect ehr to believe this was some friend thing like the cards were, right? Yuugi noticed the directions his friends were splitting and put up his hands and shook his head.
"It's okay, really!"
"This might stop if you'd actually continue with the story," Mokuba stated, crossing his arms.
Yuugi looked at Mokuba and gave an apologetic look. He continued on with the comment, causing Naoto and Kanji's statements. He looked like he was thinking about something. He finally came up with the words.
"I don't... Me and Atem came on it afterwards, I'm not quite sure what happened... but afterwards, something else happened. I went to the hospital to see if I could find Bakura-kun or Malik," Yuugi paused and glanced towards the back room, "Which we were wondering after we found out Adachi-san had the Ring. Anyways, I found out that Souji-kun was in the hospital. From what I can tell, they think he tried to kill himself. I don't believe it for a second, but I can't... I just don't know."

Atem paused. Dark Bakura had said that more or less when he'd attacked Haga and Ryuuzaki over stealing the god cards and the Millenium Items. He thought back to his memories as well. Along with his name, the Items were the keys to sealing that door... but hadn't Dark Bakura, ala Zorc, been after them as well. He looked up at Haytham.

Kanji was in even more shock at Yuugi's words. So something else had happened to Souji, they thought he'd tried to kill himself, and now he was in the hospital?! He agreed with Yuugi there, he didn't believe a bit of that himself. Souji wouldn't try to kill himself... but Kanji bet that Izanagi bastard would have made him do it.
Naoto was thinking along the same lines as Kanji there. She couldn't believe Souji would try to kill himself. It seemed possible that Izanagi had made Souji do it, if it weren't for the fact that Izanagi was likely inhabiting Adachi's body still. But without knowing the full situation, she couldn't deduce what had led to these events... Something occurred to Naoto then. Teddie had seen everything. She'd have to ask Teddie about that later...
"Adachi had the Ring?" Naoto asked. "That would explain why Atem has it now..." It didn't explain how Adachi had gotten it in the first place. They had given it to Malik before in hope that he could get it to Anpu, though not only had that obviously failed, but the dark side of Malik's personality had reawakened and quite possibly was the one behind the recent murders.
"Who cares about that?! Sempai's hurt!"
"Kanji-kun, we can't do anything on that angle until we know the full situation. It's quite likely they're not even allowing visitors right now," Naoto said calmly. "Though I do have to wonder why no one contacted us about Souji's injury."

"That's my fault for never asking your cell phone numbers. I could have contacted you on the COMP, but Teddie left at some point and I couldn't ask him. Jounouchi-kun and Anzu were... were out most of the day..." Yuugi hesitated and looked at Anzu. She hung her head and and avoided eye contact, "I was so stressed I didn't think to ask Minato-kun and Ryoji-kun, and they aren't answering the door. I saw them at the hospital, so I think they might be asleep..."
"Where's Niisama?" Mokuba stated.
Honda and Jounouchi glared at him.

Atem didn't like where this conversation was going. As it was, Haytham was insulting him. He wasn't even trying to shield it. He reached up and grabbed the Ring, looking at it. They still didn't even know who was inside it. He looked up.

As it sits, Zorc could release part of himself into this world merely by the remaining keys, the vessels containing pieces of his essence, being placed in the same location,"> Haytham looked towards the living room, < "And I do not know why, but the brother of Set's reincarnation has the Torque. Pharaoh, all seven items are in the same apartment."

Naoto frowned at Yuugi's words and pulled out her cellphone from her jacket pocket. "Would you like our numbers now, in case this happens again?"
Kanji groaned at Mokuba. "I told ya already, he's in Building 3. This is Building 6. If you wanted to see him, you shouldn't have followed us!"

Mokuba glared back at Kanji. Man, this bastard was reminding him more of Jounouchi every second. Excuse the hell out of him for being a bit concerned over Yuugi! Of course, he didn't exactly voice that. He looked down at the Torque in his hands and walked over to Yuugi, holding out his hand.
"I don't even know why I have this, but I think this belongs to you. Ask that Haytham guy about it, he seems to know more."
Yuugi looked down and blinked before taking it, "O-okay."
Honda's eyes widened, "How the hell did you-"
"I already said I don't know!"
"Thanks, Mokuba-kun."
Mokuba turned around and headed towards the door. He stopped in the doorway, "Hey, Yuugi?"
Yuugi looked up, "What?"
"I'll try and beat some sense into Niisama, okay? I know it was you in most of Death-T, not that Atem guy."
Mokuba headed out the door before anything else could be said. Yuugi looked back towards Naoto and Kanji. He finally noticed the phone and dug into his pocket, "R-right!"

Kanji gave a bit of a growl at the mention of Death-T. He still couldn't believe Kaiba had done something like that over a card game. Because of that, he didn't realize what Yuugi had just said.
Naoto looked up from her cell phone and frowned. "What did Mokuba mean by that? That it was you most of Death-T?"

Yuugi looked up and blinked. When...? He was pretty sure the only people who knew about his world to any extent were Minato and K1-tachi. Jounouchi looked at Naoto.
"It was Yuugi that handled most of that. Atem didn't even show up until after we thought Kaiba had gotten Honda killed. Well, I call him Atem but guy didn't even have a name then."
Anzu fidgeted, "W-well, I knew about him..."
"We all did, more or less," Honda stated, shrugging, "From what got told back to me, Yuugi wasn't willing to accept him."
"Guys, I can explain myself!" He didn't seem angry, just overwhelmed, "Atem only showed up to fight Mokuba-kun and Kaiba-kun during the last two stages. I was keeping him suppressed... partly cause of what Honda-kun said. I was also really kind of scared of him then... I thought he was me. That I was doing all that stuff."

Atem's eyes widened at as Haytham explained things. When all the Millenium Items were together, some part of Zorc could be released? And with Mokuba having the Torque, they were all in the same apartment?
< "This conversation is over," > Atem stated.
He didn't give the blond a chance to respond before quickly walking out of the kitchen. He immediately observed that Mokuba wasn't in the apartment anymore. He noted the Torque in Yuugi's hand and quickly walked over to the group. He didn't like this, but there were only two viable options at the moment.
"We have to talk to Kaiba and Mokuba," Atem stated, "Haytham just informed me of a potential problem."

"I see," Naoto said. That was certainly reason for anyone to be worried. From what she understood, Yuugi and Atem had shared bodies at one point, so if Yuugi had been ignorant of what was going on, it was understandable he would jump to that conclusion.
She looked over at Atem as he came out of the kitchen. "Mokuba just left. What's wrong?"
"Man, I thought my day was bad already..." Kanji complained.

It was rare for Atem to look worried. The fact that Atem seemed to be bordering a sort of "calm panic" at the moment was a fair bit unsettling. He shook his head and looked towards Yuugi for a moment, his eyes falling to the Pendant after a brief second. Haytham was stepping out of the kitchen when Atem began to speak again.
"I can explain once we leave the Apartment, but we have to leave now," Atem stated, taking several steps towards the door, "This is more important than the situation with Malik."
He didn't wait for objections. If anyone got in his way, he'd politely shove his way out. Honda, Jounouchi, and Anzu exchanged worried glances before looking over at Yuugi. The short teenager looked confused, but he wasn't questioning it. He was quickly headed after Atem. Worse than the situation with Malik...?
* "I be keeping an eye on Malik for Atem sake. It best if you following him." * Haytham stated, aware only two present would understand him but having no other language that anyone in the group knew.
