The Top 10 Hated Anime Characters

Another hate list, this one is gonna be of anime. As usual, one character per show. Also, Your Mileage May Vary as usual. The characters I hate, you might like. Be prepared for disagreement, but if you hate the list itsself and think more characters should've been mentioned or taken off or etc., you are always welcome to make your own. I know Prue's gonna hate the lack of a Yu-Gi-Oh character on this list XD But beyond that, let's begin.

Paul

I may hate Blue from the game, but I'll give him this. He cares about his Pokemon. He may be selfish in wanting to get to the top, but he does give a fuck when it comes to his team. This little prick, on the other hand, doesn't give a fuck about what happens to his Pokemon. He works them to death and, when they don't give him what he expects, he releases them, which, in the Pokemon verse, is the equivalent of kicking them in the face. Plus he doesn't have any of the charm that Gary Oak had in the first place. Paul is just quite thoroughly a character that everyone should hate.

Renge Houshakuji

Why do Yaoi fans get a bad rep? Simple. A lot of them are crazy about it to the point where every single boy has to be paired up with another boy. Thankfully we here at DC are sane enough to realize heterosexuality and lesbian sex exists, but Renge is a huge follower of this craze. She lives solely to pair the boys up in Yaoi relationships and then sell such stories, thus profitting off of them, though she is forced to give Kyouya some of the profits, so he's willing to let her do it because it nets him some income. Not to mention she's just an all around annoying character. Go listen to her laugh on YouTube. You will want to rip her vocal chords out.

Light Yagami

Your Mileage May Vary heavily here. It's hard to really justify the hatred of a character from a show full of Grey and Grey Morality, where all characters can be considered sympathetic and monstrous on each side of the spectrum. However, the fact is is that this list is based off of my opinion and I personally support L. Besides that, I had a good view on Light when he started off wanting to rid the world of crime. Then he went off the deepend and it went from killing criminals to killing whoever he wanted. Pretty soon he went from being a righteous god to a deadly sociopath with a god's notebook of death. And though this makes him one of the greatest villain's of anime history, it doesn't stop me from hating Light Yagami for being a total asshole.

Haruhi Suzumiya

YA RLY, ya selfish bitch. Light Yagami holds the weapon of a god. Haruhi just happens to be a god. If she gets bored with the world, she can literally destroy and remake it. It is speculated she did this once before. And the fact of the matter is is that she's a selfish bitch and everyone has to listen to her or else things can go really badly. Say Haruhi came up to you and demanded you come help her search for ghosts in a really creepy house. Unless you're a Nightmare Fetishist, you'll probably say no. She will demand you to go with her and then you'll be pressured by Koizumi to come along as well (if you're a girl; otherwise Mikuru's boobs will convince you) because if you don't, the world could very well be fucked. So Haruhi gets to be treated like royalty because she has no idea she's practically God... that's just fucked up.

Aizen

And speaking of gods, say hello to the king of Godmoders, Aizen. This guy has powers the likes of which are just mindscarring. He can take you over and you'll have no idea that you've been mindcontrolled. Everything you see, smell, taste, touch, hear, experience, everything... all fabricated by what Aizen wants. The entire world is his plaything and you're just his puppet. Anything that goes on in the world, he has planned it out. It's even said that, reading the manga, you're only witnessing Aizen's illusions and he lets you see the truth when he thinks you're ready to see it. So this guy literally mindfucks you, the audience... That really pisses me off, and here I thought Light was a Magnificent Bastard slash prick.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha... I'm sure no one is surprised to see him on this list as I've ranted from one side to the next of the world and beyond on how much I hate this backstabbing emo powerplaying git. But for those who haven't seen it, let me recap. Sasuke is an utter sue from the very beginning, drawing people in with his mysteriousness and treating the girls like crap when they flock over him to fansqueal over him. He is seen as the greatest ninja ever, even over Jounin at times, over the elite when he should be seen under at least them. And when he leaves to become a bad guy, a lot of the characters feel they should do everything in their power to bring him back. But it only gets worse. We find out that Itachi destroyed the Uchiha clan because they were evil and left Sasuke alive because he wanted Sasuke to become Konoha's hero. Sasuke spits in his face and goes onto to declare he will destroy Konoha. Motherfucker!

Zorin Blitz

I thought about what character I could consider hating from Hellsing, but all of them appealed to me in some way or another... except for Zorin. Yeah, I'm not big on Zorin. She's just another sadistic lackey of the Magnificent Bastard leader of Millenium, the Major. Even if she has huge boobs, Seras has those. Plus she looks more like a man then a woman anyway, especially with half her face being tatooed. I don't get that anyway. Now she does go on to prove her worth in a way by making Seras relive her worst childhood memories... said memories being of her parents dying and her mother's corpse getting raped. Yeah... but then Zorin does the most attrocious thing ever. SHE KILLED PIP BERNADOTTE! Needless to say it was satisfying to see Seras go on her Roaring Rampage of Revenge and utterly destroy Zorin.

Akito Sohma

Just like with Sasuke, I'm sure a good deal of you expected Akito to be on this list. However, there's something I need to address. The difference between the manga and the anime. In the manga, Akito does have some backstory to explain why she's such a bitch. As a result, she's a step ahead of the male version. Not to mention she is a woman, so who knows what she's going through being such a bitch anyway? Bad joke, I know, but the thing is Akito in the anime is a male and he acts just as clingy. Now I know a good deal of men are clingy just like women, but couldn't we have changed up Akito's personality somewhat if we were gonna change his whole gender? The whole reason Akito was being selfish in the manga is because she hated other women and wanted all the men of the Zodiac to herself in a way. Wouldn't that make anime Akito gay then? I mean Natsuki's gone out of her way to avoid the obvious Ayame/Hatori/Shigure threesome, so why would she let the anime turn Akito male? Well, whether manga or anime, many of the reasons I hate Akito are still the same. Selfish, overtly clingy, willing to hurt people to get what (s)he wants, and not giving a damn about others. Either way you slice it, Akito's a bitch.

Those Fucking Orphans!

THEY BEAT A FUCKING PUPPY TO DEATH!!! A PUPPY! YOU GODDAMN MOTHER-I DON'T CARE HOW YOUNG YOU BASTARDS ARE, I HOPE YOU BURN IN THE DEEPEST PITS OF HELL! I understand that murder is wrong, but can you really blame Monster Girl Lucy for doing what she did? Let me elaborate this for you to understand if you've never seen Elfin Lied before. Lucy is a diclonius. Their instincts are to pretty much kill everything by ripping them apart with their invisible hands, known as vectors. That being said, Lucy's parents sacrificed pretty much their lives to save Lucy. Lucy, unfortunately, was victim to her instincts and killed a lot of the people that adopted her. We don't know if they had it coming or not, so we can't say. Anyway, Lucy met this cute little puppy. This puppy was Lucy's only friend and, in a way, was helping Lucy to become a good person, to fight her instincts and to stop killing. THEN THESE MOTHERFUCKERS KILL THE PUPPY JUST TO GET A REACTION OUT OF LUCY! The reaction was, as you see in the video, to revert back to her instincts and slaughter them all. In the end, she finds that humans are evil and cannot be trusted. Even when you think she's befriending Main Character Kouta, she thinks he's seeing other girls besides her and kills them. She even kills his father. So, in a way, it's the fault of these fucking brats that Lucy becomes evil again! All I can say is that I wish their deaths had been slower and more excruciating.

Shou Tucker

This guy deserves his spot on the #1 list. Every Full Metal Alchemist fan hates him. Those girls who pair Ed up with Envy because they think the two would look cute together even though they're enemies hate him. Even the author hates him. If you've ever read the manga, do you remember those In Memorium strips? Remember how even the bad guys like Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Pride, Wrath, and possibly even Father would go up to Heaven? Do you know that this guy is the only one who went down to Hell? Out of all the villains that Full Metal Alchemist introduced, this guy who only had one chapter in the manga and one major episode in the anime is the only one to burn in Hell? How could that be?

I'll tell you why. Shou Tucker is a twisted, sick man. There is no reedeming factor for him; he's a Complete Monster. The homonculi are doing what they were created to do, but Shou has confessed that he did what he did because he merely could. And what is it he did? Using alchemy, he created a chimera... using his own six-year-old daughter and her dog. We get Shou's daughter, Nina, a cute little girl who looks like a sweet, innocent, adorable little angel... and he goes and turns her into a beast wracked in pain. Then he tries to excuse himself by relating to it to how Edward and Alphonse tried to bring back their mother. What he forgets is that, when they did that, they were two desperate kids. He's an adult, one who should know right from wrong, and yet confessed to doing wrong just because he could. Oh, and he did it before as well. With his wife and another animal.

This guy is obviously a sociopath. He has no empathy for anything and he is absolutely sick. But what keeps me from hating him more then Pokey is this. He gets his just desserts. For starters, Ed does a good job at beating the fuck out of him. However, due to the rule that Main Characters can never kill as they're the good guys, he doesn't kill Shou. That honor goes to Scar, the anti-hero who gets played off as a villain early on, but becomes what he is later. Because he's NOT a total good guy, he absolutely destroys Shou for what he's done before mercy-killing Nina. Though Scar's done many horrible things, no one can deny that killing Shou was truely Divine Retribution.

What Shou did to Nina brought about one of the famous speeches Ed is known for, where he says that alchemists are not gods or dieties, but just humans, tiny and insignificant, unable to save a little girl. Some people have even seen Nina's death as a tearjerker and it has caused them to cry upon seeing it. So what do you get when you ask the name of the most hated character in all of anime, much less Full Metal Alchemist itsself? Only one person really deserves the title for inspiring so much hate in so little time. Shou Tucker, the Biological Alchemist.

Like usual, I am here to make my own comments on your list. I choose not to make my own list not because I don't have any anime characters I dislike (I have several I greatly dislike) but because I don't see a need to do so.

While there's several characters on this list I would like to comment on (Light, Haruhi, Sasuke), I choose to comment on Paul.

Paul, as I see it, played an essential role to Pokemon. The Pokemon anime has run for nearly as long as the Pokemon games have themselves. The Pokemon anime started off a lot like the games. Ash was the Red analogue, while Gary was the Blue analogue. Ash and Gary were rivals for a very long time, so long that Silver did not even appear in anything other than the opening to a possibly non-canon special. When Gary was finally defeated at the end of the Johto arc (an arc KNOWN for its sheer quantity of filler episodes, something a lot of people hated it for), he decided he didn't want to be a Pokemon trainer anymore, and left the show for several years, only coming back to kick Ash's ass and prompt him to go to Sinnoh.

Gary's leaving of the show caused Ash to lose something essential: a rival. During the entire Advanced Generation arc and the following Battle Frontier arc, Ash lacked a true rival. There was no one to get him riled up and make him want to fight, no one who really posed a challenge to him, and no one to make Ash's journey interesting. In part this had to do with the games themselves. Brendan and May, the 3rd Gen games' rivals, were the nicest rivals in existence. They weren't jerks like Blue, they weren't Dracos in Leather Pants like Silver, and they weren't lovable spazes like Pearl. They were just there. In the anime, May lost her chance of becoming Ash's rival because she decided early on to be a Coordinator, leaving out the part where she traveled with Ash for a second. Brendan lost his chance of becoming Ash's rival because he didn't even exist. Brendan has ONLY appeared in the movies, and none of his appearances had any lines.

The loss of a true rival is one of many reasons the Advanced Generation arc was such a low point for the anime. Ash's journey just became less interesting without someone to fight against. And then, in the Diamond and Pearl arc, we got Paul. Paul was cold and uncaring. He was completely like anyone we had ever gotten in the anime before. And most importantly, he pissed Ash off, and Ash became focused on beating Paul. The show finally had a rival for Ash again.

Is Paul an asshole? Yes. Paul is a Grade A Asshole, graduated with top honors from Asshole Academy and everything. But I like Paul because even though he's an asshole, he served as a worthy opponent for Ash, and despite his assholishness, he had a charm that made people want to come back for more. He was just so well characterized that you found that you loved him while you hated him. In my opinion, if it weren't for Paul, the anime would have never gotten out of its quality slump that it fell into during the Advanced Generation arc.

I'm all for people having opinions, and I respect yours in many cases. I disagree on several cases. Such as Light, who I'm gonna focus on.

Light never killed "anyone he wanted to". During his entire run he only killed criminals (of a certain sort) or people who could potentially stop him from his idea of "justice". He only targeted minor criminals to further protect himself from people who could stop him. Light is a type of character that proves a Lawful Good paladin does not have to be a good guy. He is, technically, Lawful Good. Lemme elaborate.

Light chose to pursue a form of justice above what simple humans could have. He did get fairly corrupted, he thought of himself as a god, but his base goal always remained the same. To put people in fear of death by a higher power. He chose to pursue a form of "divine" good he felt humans could never attain. He went by his idea of a cosmic law. All "evil" needed to die.

When people began coming up against him that posed a challenge, he began killing them as well. He felt he was the only one who could do what "had to be done", and if he were to be caught that good could not be done. So those police, his aim at L, all that, was merely to protect himself and as an extension his ideals. If no one had come up to challenge him, the only people that would have ever died were criminals. And he DID have an effect on the crime rate, it was mentioned in several times in the show.

I'm not saying you can't dislike him, more power to you for doing so. But I don't like how you're saying he killed "anyone he wanted". No, he was very choosy with his victims and everyone he killed came back down to the same point.
