Okay, so in general public housing is good about things like this, so really this is the first time they've pulled such a stunt. And we're technically supposed to keep our house clean-ish all the time, so it really is my problem. I get this, I really do, but when you're pissed off, PMS, and sore, common sense winning over rage is a miracle.
Public housing alerts you to things such as repairs and inspections by sticking things on your window. When I left my house this morning, there was nothing on my window (aside from really old residue tape that I really should do something about). I kind of expect an announcement for inspections soon, so I've been keeping an eye on that.
When I come back at about 9PM this evening, there is a sign on my door. My first thought is "Wonderful, inspections. When is it?" I grab the thing and read is as I'm heading inside... and the thing reads November 2nd as the start date. My heart jumps into my throat and I start FREAKING, but reading ahead informs me it isn't inspections (thank fucking god) but boiler repairs. We use water heater things for heat in the homes. However, this gives me less than 24 hours warning. To be precise, given that the work day tends to start at 9AM, this gives me 12 hours to get my house clean (technically presentable but my house has gotten bad).
I'm extremely pissed. Usually they're nice enough to give you a three day warning. Here I am with less than 24 hours. Did I mention that when my house gets bad it tends to take 7 hours minimum to clean? And its a small house (single bedroom apartment)! So anyways, I have to tell FF I have to get off even though I was looking forward to staying up all night with her. I push it back by about half an hour cause I'm like that. I then crash sleep for about three hours. Due to pulling a Determinator card, I manage to get all but one room clean by 7:30 AM having started at 3AM. That one room is a disaster, but thankfully access to it is not needed for boiler maintenance.
I'm just VERY pissed they cut the notice so short. UGGGGGGH I AM GOING TO BE SORE FOR A WEEK.
