Lucy looked around, and around, all the Ponikos, laughing, taunting. She tried to block it all out, ignoring all the taunts... except one.
Coward.
She'd had to deal with that forever. Mariya was the hero, while she was, admittedly, a little timid about adventure. But that didn't mean she was a coward!
No. No one called her that, not anymore. Especially not this annoying little girl. This little monster.
Consumed with a sudden burst of anger, Lucy leapt at one of the Poniko's, grabbing at her throat as if all the things that had ever made her mad, and simply repressed the emotion, were concentrated in that small appendage. Her emotion fueled brain even supplied notions that didn't exist, that Prince Strawberry thought she was a coward, that Rose considered her a weakling... and even her own sister, calling her a failure.
All this to concentrate all her bottled up suffering. If Poniko could be the gateway to let it loose, then by hell or high water, Lucy would tear that girl to shreds.

The Poniko fell to the ground beneath Lucy, sinking into the water and flesh underneath them. She only smirked at the bunny girl, and she began to cruelly laugh. All around Lucy, the Ponikos continued to laugh as they closed in on her.
Only now none of them were Poniko. The one Lucy had by the throat had become Mariya. Two of the others were Strawberry and Rose. Every Poniko had become a person Lucy knew.
Suddenly, Rose screamed and fell to the ground, a long cut extending down its back. Standing behind the fallen prince was a young girl, possibly a teenager, carrying a kitchen knife. The beings all turned toward her and some began to stumble toward her, only to be cut down as well.
The girl ran to Lucy and held her hand out to her.
"Come on," she said quietly.

Lucy hesitated a bit when the Ponikos changed. She let go of the Mariya image, and looked up as the Rose one screamed. She didn't know what was going on anymore, but a young woman appeared to have rescued her. She took the hand, thankful for something sane in the membrane.
She followed the girl in whichever direction she decided to go. "Thanks... I... I was..." She didn't want to say it, but she had to be honest. "Scared..." Scared to death would not be an inaccurate phrasing, in this case.

The girl continued running, cutting through every Poniko in her way with her knife. She didn't stop running until they were out of the ocean of blood and on solid ground again. Or at least what looked like solid ground. It was still solid black, and strange runic figures floated in the air around them.
The girl turned back to look at Lucy. "She doesn't usually go after lone dreamers," the girl said quietly. "I don't know why she targeted you."
The girl looked down, and her knife disappeared. "I don't know why I saved you. It's useless to try to help someone like you."

Lucy followed the girl, thankful for her help. She was about to voice her thanks, until the girl called her action useless.
"What do you mean it's useless to help me?" she asked. "You saved me! I'm not totally useless..." She seemed a little upset. "I was trapped in that.... that nightmare. And now we're..." Out? She looked around. The surroundings still seemed nightmarish. Maybe it was just the beginning.
She hurried up to the girl's side, still wanting to prove she wasn't useless.

The girl shook her head sadly. "No, she'll just come after you again. She always does. It's useless."
She looked to the side, and suddenly they were standing on a veranda. "And every day that railing looks more and more inviting..."
She shook her head again, and suddenly she grasped Lucy by the shoulders.
"You have to wake up! She can't hurt you when you're awake!"

"I'm not useless," she muttered. Then she noticed the veranda, and Lucy couldn't help but look over the side, staring down at whatever's underneath.
She yelped as she was grabbed, spinning to face the girl. "Wake up?? How do I wake up!" She tried biting herself, shaking herself, and pinching herself. Anything to avoid that girl from before!

Upon looking over the edge, Lucy would see nothing but a sheer drop. The apartment had become a large tower, reaching into the sky.
However, upon Lucy pinching herself, the would would begin to fade. It seemed pinching herself had been what had done it. The girl looked out at her veranda again, before turning to Lucy. Before the world completely faded, she said:
"I hope to see you again some time. It was nice."

As the world faded, Lucy looked to the strange girl. "Wait! Why... is the world fading? And... Who are you?!" she cried out, as she reverted back to the waking world.
She had no idea what was going on, or where she had been taken to. Last she remembered being awake was....... was with that girl, at the canyon.
