A Test Subject (Edge only for now)

Trevor hadn't originally planned on going there. It started in the House of Blue Leaves however. Trevor was playing with Marion and the two were bonding as Marion viewed Trevor as her uncle. Naturally there was laughter and delight between the two until Marion asked Trevor an innocent question. "Uncle Twevor... When's Mommy coming home?"

It was at that moment that the innocence stopped and Trevor immediately felt a sharp pain stab at him. "Wh-What?" he asked softly.

"I wanna pway with Mommy. When's Mommy coming home?"

The naivety of her question nearly drove Trevor to tears and he shrugged softly. "I... I don't know... A lot happened and..." Trevor felt himself beginning to break down all over again. He thought he had gotten over the shock of the situation, but hearing Marion innocently ask about her mother's whereabouts brought the sadness straight back to him. Not wanting to burst into tears in front of Marion, however, he said, "Ummm, I have to go run an errand for Fletcher. M-Maybe Daddy will play with you now." As Marion went away to play with Edd, Trevor put his hands over his eyes and just turned and walked out. He made sure to tell King where he was going so King could inform the others in case. Then he was off, back to Void City... most likely to get drunk.

Case in point, he was at the mall, heading to the liquor store with his money in hand, when he noticed a suspicious type running into the Abandoned Hall. Curious about this, he walked into the Abandoned Hall, wondering what he'd find there. What he didn't expect to see was a whole different kind of store that had never been detected. "What in the...?"

The store was fairly muted in appearance. It had a logo, plain text, placed above the door. "Capsulan Aids", it said, with a blue and red capsule pill between the two words. Either the store was nearly out of business, or it was trying not to draw attention.

A cursory glance inside through the glass looked like a pharmacy, albeit one whose medicine was sold individually in molded plastic packaging.

A single man stood by the doorway, almost in military-style attention, hardly moving an inch. He glanced at Trevor, and watched him casually.

Trevor looked around and he noticed the man watching him. What the bloody hell is this place? Casulian Aids? I've never heard of this. But to do business in the Abandoned Hall... what kind of business is this?

Trevor crossed his arms, looking at the man. "What do you sell here?" he asked, needing to verify if the shop waslegal before he could say anything.

The man looked at Trevor, smiling softly.

"We sell capsules that make your lives easier," he said. "They can do everything from soothe your aching muscles to giving you that extra hand when you're lifting something heavy, and all you have to do is add water!"

The capsules on the shelves all had different color mixes, all colors of the rainbow.

Capsules that help you... is it more or less slavery? But if they're constructs and not real people, then... ... ... But I don't need an extra hand... do I? Well I have been lonely lately. I don't know why... maybe I should...

"Hmmmmmm... I see," Trevor said softly.

[shiftyPotentate]

"Are you interested?" the kind-looking man asked. He motioned toward the capsule packs. "They last in varying lengths of time, and start as low as $9.99~"

[Felix Falora]

Trevor looked at the man. He almost asked if this business were legal. But he thought about it and it seemed like a good idea. "Ummm... what's the longest length?" he asked.

"That would be ten years, for $2000," the man said evenly.

[Felix Falora]

I only have half that money on me... Maybe a year... "Is there one that's good for a thousand bucks?" I was gonna spend all this money on booze anyway. I can see what kind of business this is. If it seems fucked up, I can stop it then...

"One thousand will buy you one good for three years," he said, reaching for the packaging. It was moderately nondescript, not terribly extravagant, it looked like something one could knock up in a word processor. Sure enough, it advertised an undying loyalty of aid for three years.

Three years... not a bad deal really... but what kind of business is it? That's the question. I'll see what it is.

"I'll take it," Trevor said.

[shiftyPotentate]

"Good choice, sir," said the ever-stranger looking man. He took the package and walked to the counter, motioning for Trevor to follow.

He began punching out the sale on the cash register. "One thousand dollars, please," he said, with an eerily sincere smile.

A capsule. I'm paying one grand for a capsule. This better be worth it. If it is, I'll bust the guy. If not, at least I can say I didn't get drunk. With that, Trevor handed his money over. The guy would hand the capsule over. The deal would be done.

The man handed the capsule over.

"Thank you very much, have a fine day, sir~!" he said, smiling.

The capsule seemed to almost bear a heavy soul energy radiating out, but it was lazy, inert, latent.

Trevor nodded. "You're welcome," he said and walked out. Looking at the capsule, he sighed. Since he couldn't detect energy, he didn't feel anything. He just sighed and looked at it before pocketing it. "Water, huh?"
