Full Name: His real name in unpronounceable, nor can the symbols be represented in this text format (a heart, a music note, a !, and a ?)
Nicknames: Geno, Puppet-boy, Pinocchio
Actual Age: Presuming anywhere between 50 years to ancient
Mental Age: Late Teens
Height: Short
Weight: Extremely Light
Race: Star Spirit (currently in a wooden doll's form)
Alliance: Good
Home: Star Road
Franchise: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Physical Description: In his present form, he appears as a wooden doll, like a full-sized marionette. His "skin" is a tanned-colored, non-glossed hollowed wood, eyes a dark red, large, ribbon-like strands of hair peeking out from under a blue tailed hat with a windup-key-like golden shape in front. He also wears a blue tunic and cape (with a fluffed golden collar), and his feet are shaped liked boots, but are made from the same material as the rest of his body.
The reason he has taken this form is that in the lower worlds, away from the higher world of the Star Spirits, Geno's true form is too ethereal to hold up in this world, and would appear as only a star to the people. So he's had to borrow the form in order to exist in this world.
In his own world, he takes on humanoid form, though his skin is starshine yellow and ears pointed like the crest of stars. As a guardian of Star Road, he wears a knightly cape and armor; his helmet is pointed as such that, with his ears, forms a star shape, with a heavy plume.
Weapons: In his current form, his body IS his weapon. This includes literally flying fists and feet, shots that fire from his fingertips, a low-powered gun that pops out of his wrist, a heavier cannon that releases from his elbow, and special guns that fire high-powered stars.
In his true form, he is limited to the short sword of the Star Road Holy Guard.
Abilities/Powers: (it is assumed he has these powers in both forms)
Geno Beam: Charging up his energy, Geno shoots a deadly energy beam from his wrist gun.
Geno Boost: Using magic, Geno boosts an ally's attack and defense.
Geno Whirl: Geno throws a disk of light, which can be devastating if timed right.
Geno Blast: Geno summons light energy from the sky, and multicolored clouds crash down to the ground.
Geno Flash: Geno turns into a giant cannon and launches a massive fire-elemental attack.
Skills: Being small and light, Geno is incredibly quick on his feet (though this leaves him more susceptible to heavy damage). He has much knowledge of the Mushroom Kingdom and its inhabitents from all the wishes he's granted. He has an understanding of the bigger picture and the greater consequences of cosmic events. Consequently, Geno often offers advice about matters the others may not understand.
Personality: Geno's personality is strongly based on his confidence and attitude. Quite different from that of Bowser's, which mostly comes from his tough guy ego and narcissistic traits, Geno has more of a rebellious attitude which is evident when the party confronts Smithy and Geno yells "Yo, Smithy!" upon making his appearance.
Geno also tends to show more enthusiasm than any other party member, perhaps only second to Mario, but it is difficult to tell as Mario is a silent protagonist throughout the game. Geno's rhapsodic ways may also be due to the fact that he knew what the Smithy Gang was up to long before anyone else in the party or in the game does, and living in Star Road, it's close to home.
Generally speaking he is a down-to-earth fellow, and yes, that pun is completely intended. He can be friendly, diplomatic, level-headed, and can be noted for a good sense of humor.
History:
"Geno" had long been a proud guardian of the Star Road. For more of his celestial existence, he was a Wish Granter like all other stars, but a great conflict between the stars and an artificial race of robotic creatures drafted most stars to defend their holy ground. When "Geno" showed special talent for combat, he was given a rank in the Holy Guard, established after the conflict was resolved. Eventually, he climbed the ranking to General, and was held with high regard for his efforts during the war.
Even so, he was unprepared for another strike. When Lord Smithy couldn't be settled with just the sky, he launched his attack on Mushroom World, deciding to make Bowser's Keep his base of operations. Thus Exor, the dimensional gateway to Smithy's world, crashed into the castle and occupied it. However, to even get there, he crashed through the Star Road first, and to add insult to injury, he released a legion of monsters to attack the star denizens. These creatures were unlike those fought in the previous war; the Holy Guard was massacred, and it was said the king of the robotic monsters himself struck down the General before descending unto the Mushroom Kingdom.
"Geno" was not killed, but was heavily injured; however, the guilt of letting down his people was crushing enough on its own. As a result of the Smithy Gang's attack, seven Star Pieces of the Star Road were scattered throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. With the Star Road broken, wishes could not be granted. All seemed hopeless... until the first Star Piece had been sent up! Apparently only those with pure heart, body, and mind could gather the Star Pieces and send them up to return to where they belonged. Realizing this, "Geno" volunteered himself to his higher authority to be sent to find this pure one, help them find the Star Pieces, and restore the power of wishes to the world.
Meanwhile, in the world below, Rose Town was besieged by the Smithy Gang. Bowyer, one of Smithy's lieutenants, was launching arrows into the small town. As a result, the people of Rose Town could not leave their homes for fear of being paralyzed by one of Bowyer's arrows.
During this time of crisis, Mario and Mallow arrived in Rose Town. Seeking shelter from the arrows, the pair entered the town inn. Inside, Mario saw a young boy named Gaz playing with his dolls of Mario, Peach, and Bowser. He was recreating one of Mario's various adventures. Gaz's mom, the innkeeper, asked the plumber to play with her son. Gaz pretended to be Mario, and Mario pretended to be Bowser. During the pretend battle, the Mario Doll "bought the farm," so Gaz brought out his newest doll: Geno. However, Gaz played a little too rough. He activated Geno's "Super Star Shot" and instead of hitting the Bowser Doll, the blast inadvertently hit Mario, knocking him out.
Witnessing this from up above, the star spirit enters the Inn. Knowing he had to choose an inorganic form of this world to borrow and seeing the four dolls on the floor, the star decided to inhabit the Geno doll. (Later, Geno admited he chose that particular doll because it appears to be the strongest of the four.)
The next morning, Gaz told his mom that he saw a living Geno walk into the Forest Maze. Mario believed the kid's tale and entered the woods to find the animated doll. Eventually, Mario caught up with him. Geno had entered the forest to challenge Bowyer, the arrow-firing fiend, and protect the Star Piece that Bowyer discovered and planned to destroy. When Bowyer proved to be a difficult adversary, Mario and Mallow, who had been watching these events unfold, decided to help the stranger, and together, the three defeated Bowyer and acquired the Star Piece.
When he realized that Mario had been the "pure" one he was looking for, Geno proceeded to tell the tale of the Star Road and its current state of disrepair. He revealed to the two heroes that he was a warrior from Star Road and that he assumed the form of a doll to fight the Smithy Gang. Completely understanding the dire situation, Mario and Mallow agree to aid Geno, and the three join forces. When asked for his name, he gave it as ¢½¢Ü!?. (forgive me if these characters don't work DX) Of course, this was impossible to pronounce in their tongue, so the star warrior assumed the name of the doll: Geno.
Eventually, after a long and grueling journey, Mario, Mallow, Geno, and even Bowser and Toadstool collected the remaining Star Pieces, all but one. The last piece was being held by the master of the Weapons Race himself; Lord Smithy. Confronting the monster that had nearly destroyed his home and the homes of those he had grown close to, Geno could not hold himself back. He had launched the first blow of the battle, even if he took a beating of his own before the rest of the others stepped in to do their part. It took all of their effort combined to bring Smithy down, force him to reveal his corrupted true form, and finally defeat him once and for all.
His world restored, his debt repaid, and his work here done, Geno had to leave the doll's wooden body, returning to the form of a star and bringing the Star Pieces to Star Road. Repairing the celestial road, the power of wishes returned to the world, and his honor had been regained.
...until he realized that Smithy had been reborn in another world.
The Geno doll had been returned to Gaz, since Geno promised to return to Gaz after his first adventure ended. However, the doll seemed to go missing one day; little Gaz was briefly heartbroken at the thought of losing his best friend, until he discovered a note written on paper that glittered like stardust.
The world needs me once again. I'll be back to play with you again soon~
Other: Obviously, Geno's true form is AU. XD Will this be explored? Who knows.
