Tycho huffed angrily as he stormed down the sidewalk. That was possibly the most humilliating moment of his life. Never could he show his face at the Inventory again, not after what Strong Bad walked in on. Strong Bad. He groaned again, grabbing fistfulls of his hair and then shouted into the sky.
He'd never been so embarrassed.
Sure, it probably wasn't near as bad as he was making it out to be, but that was awful. And he felt terrible for what he did after getting caught....
He stopped walking once he got to the center of the park and plopped down on a nearby bench and let out a long sigh. If only he knew where another bar was in town, he'd be there, getting so hammered that he would forget this night all together.

In contrast to Tycho's quite rotten turn of events, Gabe was pretty stoked about his current lot in life.
I mean, come ON. A whole new world to explore? Weirdo people to meet like that interesting bunch at the plaza? Man, this was gonna rock.
Who cares if he didn't know where he was going!? That was half the fun!
After being directed towards the ITS, he decided to go in the opposite direction; after all, there was no fun in looking for an exit. Not just yet. After wandering the streets of Void City, he came across a park with wierd purple portals opening and closing at random.
"Haha. Coooooool."
Gabe then jumped out of his serene moment of wonder at an angry scream that made birds scatter from the trees. It wasn't tremendously loud, but it WAS closeby.
It was also familiar. After hearing it so many times kicking the guy's ass in video games, he'd recognize that shout anywhere.
"Oh, SWEET. He made it!" Gabe instantly picked up his pace, following the echo to locate his friend. Man, could the day get any better?

After sitting there for a few moments, regaining his muddled thoughts and gathering what was left of his pride, Tycho stood back up and popped his neck. He glanced around and then pulled up his sleeve, reading his watch.
4:30
Maybe if he wandered around aimlessly for a few more hours, Tycho would run into someone who actually lived here or someone who'd seen his lost companion. If one of those things happened, then he would consider not visciously maiming Gabe.
Or, he could always just stay here. It was nice outside, even though Tycho didn't have his protective head-gear.
He let out a deep breath before sitting back down. This sucked.

Tycho's next encounter may have not been either one of those, but it was the next best thing.
After running in a few circles around the park (and falling into a portal or two, making him even more lost and disoriented), Gabe finally spotted the park bench where his pal stood up from and stretched. He didn't look like he was in the best of moods, but really, when was Tycho ever in a good mood to begin with?
Well, it was time to change that. Seeing his buddy was bound to cheer him up! If Gabe was a puppy, his tail would be wagging immensely in excitement.
"YO!!" he called out, waving Tycho down with wide waves of his arms. "Dude! DUDE!! TYCHO, MAH MAIN MAN, OVER HERE!!"

Tycho's ears perked up.
Was he really hearing that voice?
Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him again, but he looked over anyway and there he stood.
Johnathan Gabriel.
He couldn't tell if he jolted up out of excitement or anger, but Tycho was a little more than relieved to see a much friendlier fammiliar face. A ghost of a smile crossed his face as he calmly headed towards his once lost best friend.
"Hey." He called back, lazily waving. Tycho's calm pace began so quicken as he got closer, slowly remembering why they were in this perdicament in the first place.
Johnathan Gabriel.

It was just like one of those romance movies, the two of them running towards each other in slow motion. Well, they couldn't really run in slow motion realtime, at least not without looking like a couple of assholes, but oh well. It was the intent that counted.
Gabe was close to laughing in joy as he dashed towards Tycho eagerly, quickly closing the gap. He outstretched his arms, awaiting a tight, manly bear hug...!

.... Only to have Tycho wrap his hands around his neck.
"You stupid motherfucker!" He shouted while jerking Gabe around. "WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT TOUCHING MY BOOKS?!" He snarled, eyes turing a dull red. "If its LOCKED UP in a CHEST in the BACK of my CLOSET, DO. NOT. TOUCH. IT." His grip loosened on the others' neck, but he did not let go completely. Tycho glared directly into Gabe's eyes, awaiting his friends' explination.

Gabe choked and gagged as Tycho trottled him. He tried to get out words inbetween the unattractive gutteral sounds, but not much else was coming out from his tightened throat.
Gasping once slightly released, it took him a moment to recover, panting heavily and gripping Tycho's arms to prevent himself from falling to the ground. "Is--uh-HUNH-HACK--is it m-my fault... your books look... so cool??" He looked up at Tycho as if what he was stating was pure common sense and was supposed to get him off the hook. "I mean, come on! It'd be an insult NOT to touch them! ...or say those cool chants."

"The fact that the chants were in LATIN didn't scare OR bore you away?" Tycho said through gritted teeth before completely letting go of Gabe. He just stared for a long moment, not really expecting to get much more out of Gabe other than that. "Honestly, you can be so stupid sometimes."
Today was just all kinds of stressful, but Tycho was used to this kind of chaos, ecpecially from Gabe; the human equivilent to a sea sponge.
He grumbled and sighed. "I hope they have a supernatural book store in this town that accepts Master Cards. I'd like to go home sometime soon."

Gabe staggered back a bit, gripping at his slightly bruised neck. For a moment they made eye contact, until Tycho whipped away into his own musings.
And for just a moment, Gabe actually felt... kinda hurt.
That was dashed quickly, though, as Tycho continued. Gabe gaped at him. "Are you serious?? You want to go HOME!? Back to boring-as-hell Seattle?!"
When Tycho began a brisk walk, Gabe struggled to keep up. "Dude, come ON! Have you even been around this city or seen any of the crazy-as-shit people?? This is like a video game in REAL LIFE. Like, this is all ACTUALLY HAPPENING. AROUND US."
He forced himself ahead of Tycho, stopping him ans gripping his upper arms in excitement. "Think about it, man! When are we EVER going to get a chance like this again? Let's go on a fucking adventure, Tycho!!"

Tycho frowned, immedeatly reminded of the recent happenings at the bar.
"Yes, I have been around here and while I agree that it is a very interesting place, full of intersting people with interesting powers, it doesn't really seem like the 'Adventure' type of place." He stated, not bothering to remove Gabe's hands.
Though he did have a point about Seattle. All they did was sit around the house, play video games, and draw comics. Maybe just this one time he'd give into Gabe's wants.
Tycho rolled his eyes and huffed. "Fine. Whatever, we'll go on an adventure." He said. "But, damnit, if I don't get some kind of freaky-alien or anthro action while we're here, I'm gonna' be seriously pissed."

"SWEET." Instantly pleased, Gabe released Tycho and twirled around to face the city in all its splendor. "LOOK OUT DIMENSIONAL ISLAND, HERE WE COME."
His great bellow echoed for a moment. It didn't earn him the heralding chorus of angels like he wanted; just a number of strange looks from other park patrons.
Gabe deflated a bit, pouting. He considered what to do next, scraping through his gaming knowledge. "...um. We gotta find a... a first quest. Something easy, low level. We gotta stock up on weapons, and items. And a map would help, probably."
He gave Tycho a big, stupid grin. "So! You've obviously been here longer than me. Know where we could find any of that stuff?"

"Uhh...." Tycho thought for a moment. "The mall would probably be a good place to look. I was just there, but I didn't really look around for any maps, kinda' went straight to the bar." At least he was being mostly honest; Tycho wasn't too sure if he was going to tell Gabe what happened at the bar, though. "If we can't find a map, maybe we'll run into someone who lives here to help us."
And just to play along with Gabe's little fantasy Adventure. "And they'll be able to give us a 'quest'." He chuckled a little before walking again, moving ahead of Gabe.
Until he got sucked up into one of the random portals and dropped from about ten feet in the air back behind him.
"Ow, sunova.... That felt good."

"Whoa, wait, there's a mall here?" Gabe thought about this, his eyes going wide. "Oh COOL. Maybe we'll get lucky and get caught up in another zombie breakout! Zombies are usually low-level, easy to deal with."
He looked up from his musings just as Tycho disappeared into a portal. He blinked before a dull thud sounded off behind him, and he whirled back and tried very hard not to laugh at his collapsed form.
"Aww, man, the portals got you too?" he snickered, walking back to him. "Yeah, I found that out the hard way. Man. MAN. It'd be awesome if we could find a Portal gun. Wonder what would happen if we shot the Portal gun at one of these portals?"
Within his nerdy ramblings, Gabe had leaned down and offered a helping hand to Tycho. It was second nature, really.

"Thanks." Tycho took the offered hand and hoisted himself to his feet then gave Gabe an odd look. "While the XP we would gain from them would be beneficial, I doubt we do very well without weapons. We actually got lucky last time that Annarchy knew how to use a Bat'leth." Tycho paused for a brief moment; oh, how he would miss his niece in his time away.
"But, anyway. I don't think we would last very long if that were to happen again. Because neither of us brought a Fruitfucker and you don't seem to have Frostmourne on your person." He set out walking again, headed towards the Mall. "Not that you know how to wield it, but mostly, it probably wouldn't be smart to touch him in this world. You might actually become a vessel for the immortal Lich King."
Even as awesome as that sounded, Tycho was positive that Gabe shouldn't be allowed to possess such power.
They continued walking and Tycho mulled over the Portal Gun question, then stopped. That was all kinds of Physics and Logic and Math, and he really didn't have the brain power to actually come up with a plausible answer right now. Whatever was in that drink was still in his system.
"If we manage to run into a Portal Gun while we're here, we are so taking that bitch home with us."
