Right! So! I joined DC in late February of this year. That means I've been here for about... 3-4 months. That is a pretty long time. In that time, I've been a total of 4 topics, all of which were started by me. In total, I've seen maybe... 6 topics that have been posted in since I joined. Including my own. (This may be just because I don't pay attention to many topics but seriously, I hardly see any RPing going on. A lot of the forums have had their last post in 2010. LAST YEAR. Seriously, this forum is pretty inactive.) And, oddly enough, there are quite a few people in the chat.
While I don't want to call any of you out by name, I've noticed that a lot of you just seem to derp around in the chat and hardly actually roleplay. Maybe 'never' is a bit strong, but with so many people, this site could be a whole lot more active. I mean, it's summer! I chalked up the initial inactivity due to school, and heck, I even disappeared for a long period of time due to school. But now, we don't have much of an excuse.
So, I'm going have myself a little experiment: I'll start up a somewhat large scale storyline, and ask people constantly in the chat to join it. The purpose of this is both to have fun, and try to start up actual interest on roleplaying because seriously, I don't see any posting other than about... 6 people. 7 at the most.
Basic Premise:
Tendou Souji: The man who walks the path of heaven, ruling over all. Okay, he doesn't actually rule over everything. But with how hyper-competent, chill, and overall awesome he is, he may as well. He's also known by an alternate name: Kamen Rider Kabuto.
During his battle against the alien lifeforms known as the Worms, Tendou's little sister was kidnapped by an enigmatic character known as Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto. Kabuto and Dark Kabuto clashed repeatedly, and eventually, Tendou was able to use a dimensional door to reach the alternate universe where his sister, Hiyori, and Dark Kabuto, Souji Kusakabe, were hiding. His sister had begun to like Kusakabe, believing that she would be safe in the alternate universe.
Reaching out to his siter's emotions, Tendou managed to bring his little sister back home. Dark Kabuto, frustrated, returned to the real world, where he was set upon by the worms. In the final battle against the force behind the worms, the 'Natives,' Dark Kabuto was revealed to have been the test subject for the Masked Rider system, and sacrificed himself in the final battle to protect Kabuto from a Native.
Later, as Tendou Souji enters the island, Dark Kabuto is not far behind. However, the Dark Kabuto Zecter, the weapon that allows one to transform into the enigmatic darker side of the Kabuto system, belongs to a different wielder. A man who was erased by Tendou Souji in an erased timeline: Issei Kurosaki, formerly known as Kamen Rider Caucasus. He was a man who fought to erase humanity in favor of the worms. His zecter, the Caucasus Zecter, was destroyed, and he was killed by Tendou before he reset the timeline.
However, he has managed to land on the island. At the same time, the Dark Kabuto Zecter alone made it to the island as well, its wielder having been killed. With a dangerous man, experienced with the use of Zecters, in control of Dark Kabuto's enormous power, the island is in terrible peril. The situation is only worsened by a startling revelation: the first Hyper Zecter, used by Tendou to transform into Hyper Kabuto, was not destroyed. It was merely teleported to the island, and is also in the possession of Kurosaki.
With Kurosaki's amazing fighting skill, the strength of the Kabuto Zecter, and the unbelievable power of the Hyper Zecter, even Tendou Souji is not capable of defeating the new Dark Kabuto alone. In response to this new threat, he begins to gather comrades, giving the Zecters that he managed to retrieve from his old world. All he needs now are people willing to ride with him.
What that all even means:
So basically there's some dickbag Tendou beat up a while ago that is on the island and now has CRAZY SUPER POWERS and Tendou wants to turn some people into riders to help him out. Sound fun? Interesting? No? Yes? Whatever? IdklolI'monlyonthechatandneverRP?
Either way, it would be a short story. A few topics where Tendou hands out Zecters, and then a few battle topics against Dark Kabuto. Nothing too fancy.
Tendou only has a few Zecters to hand out, so spots in the storyline ARE limited! 3 other people AT THE MOST, or at least, only 3 other people/characters that will be given Zecters. The Zecters are essentially bug robots that allow one to transform into a Kamen Rider. First, the wielder transforms into 'Masked Form.' By pressing a button or something similar on their Zecter, they can 'Cast Off,' which turns them into 'Rider Form.'
Note that the belts all say stuff. When you first transform, it says "HENSHIN." Yes in all caps. When you cast off, it says, "CAST OFF. CHANGE..." After the "CHANGE," it says whatever insect the Zecter is based off. For example, for Kabuto, it says "CHANGE BEETLE."
What can you do as a rider? You have ridiculous and stylish armor, can punch really, REALLY hard, and to make a not very accurate comparison but one you'll all get, you're like a power ranger. In Masked Form, they have very heavy armor, and can take a lot more hits than they can in Rider Form. Kabuto riders are also overpowered in that they can 'Clock up" when in Rider Form. By pressing a button on the pads of their belt, the Zecter says "CLOCK UP," and they can now move at the speed of sound. Or light. It's not really made clear. Fast enough so that you're a blur to normal people and to the person who has clocked up, nothing is moving at all except others who have clocked up.
There are 3 Zecters to give out:
1. Drake Zecter: Allows one to transform into Kamen Rider Drake. They transform by holding up a gun handle. Drake Zecter, which looks like a Dragonfly, will fly onto that handle and form the rest of the gun, allowing one to transform into Drake's Masked Form. By pulling on a tab on the end of the Drake Zecter, Kamen Rider Drake can 'cast off' into Rider Form. By pulling the wings up and back, they can execute the finishing move "Rider Shooting," which is a big laser that makes things blow up. They can also fire normal laser shots and such.
2. TheBee Zecter Allows one to transform into Kamen Rider TheBee. TheBee Zecter, which looks like, surprise surprise, a bee, goes onto the wrist mounted connection port that is worn by the wielder, turning them into TheBee's Masked Form. By turning TheBee Zecter around 180 degrees, they cast off into the Rider Form. TheBee has no weapons other than his fists, relying on a fast and furious fighting style. They can execute the 'Rider Sting' finishing move by pulling back on TheBee Zecter's wings. The Stinger on TheBee Zecter grows large, and one executes a stabby punch thing that makes stuff explode.
3. Sasword Zecter Allows one to transform into Kamen Rider Sasword. (Masked form on right, Rider Form on left.) Sasword Zecter, which looks a tiny scorpion, is put onto the handle of a large sword carried by the wielder, turning them into Sasword's masked form. By pulling Sasword Zecter's tail closer to its body, they 'cast off' into Rider Form. Other than hitting things with the sword, Kamen Rider Sasword can execute 'Rider Slash,' which is executed by pushing the Sasword Zecter's tail down and cutting something with the sword, which is now glowing. Spoilers: stuff explodes.
Those are the Zecters able to be handed out. There's only one of each, so yeah. Basically, if Tendou likes your character and you have signed up for this storyline, you will be given a Zecter if you agree to fight against Dark Kabuto. That's the biggest benefit, other than just having fun. Afterwards, Tendou will be chill enough to let you keep it. Just note that he could take it back at any time he wishes, even during the battle against Dark Kabuto, if you defy his wishes or piss him off in any way.
... So. Anyone feel like joining in at all?
(Also Tendou will probably have a predisposition against anyone not human, and I don't think the Zecters will work on non-humans anyway. Also no small children. Tendou will say no.)
