"And how would you use it?" Abel asked, sounding genuinely interested in what Seth thought. There was still the possibility of Seth trying to defect. It was still quite likely. But he trusted his brother. There was a reason he'd sent him to speak with Messiah, after all.
He patted Cain's head once more. His brother's frustration was so amusing.

Seth tensed up at Abel's question. Cain crossed his arms, his expression flat as Abel tapped his head. He seemed to be thinking of something, a level of focus rarely shown in the boy's face, at any age. His eyes widened in sudden realization, a quick and sudden action that would likely be missed by both of the older men. He couldn't act, not without messing up the situation as it stood, and he couldn't say anything about it either. He shot a glare at Seth, obviously chastising him but for what it wasn't clear.
"E-exactly as you've already commanded, Your Majesty..." Seth seemed to be gathering his words carefully. Seth blinked at Cain's look, and he reacted as if the boy's reaction had been due to his words, "T-to make him stray! Does... this mean you're okay with it...?"
Seth didn't sound as if he believed his ears.

Abel still had a rather amused look on his face as Seth continued to stutter. He wasn't sure what his younger brother was planning, but he was making a rather good job of the acting he was doing. The nervous stuttering indicated he had something else planned, though. What exactly was he planning...?
"Not quite."
He walked a little closer to Seth. "Whatever you're planning involves myself, doesn't it? Something I wouldn't be happy with, right?"

Seth's muscles locked up as Abel more than halved the already small distance between them. There was less than half an arm's length between them now, and if Abel had let out a hard breath he could have felt it on his face. Seth swallowed yet another lump down his throat as Abel spoke again. He opened his mouth and let out a cough as if he'd just discovered his throat was parched. His head was turned away from Abel, but his eyes angled towards the demon king. Not his face, but towards him nonetheless.
"I.. wouldn't... quite say that, Your Majesty," Seth said. He pulled his head back foreward again, and hung it awkwardly. It was difficult to maintain a forward position without looking Abel in the eyes, "It's just... it requires me apart from the Court for some time, I can't say how long."
He shook his head for a moment and reached into his pocket, pulling out the COMP and holding it forward slightly, "I wouldn't be able to take this along. And any demon you sent, Messiah would know about."
His eyes flicked towards the side. Cain narrowed his eyes at the action and looked up and past Seth. A window, the only thing there was a window. And his concern faded into a smirk. He couldn't see anything there, but... he looked over to Abel. He had to give his brother... his brothers this much. It was rare he couldn't pinpoint the motivations of both of them this much, although things were quickly beginning to make sense in his head.
"Your Majesty," Seth said, drawing his full attention back to Abel, seemingly unaware of Cain's actions, "We'd... we wouldn't be able to talk. At all, it'd be too much of a risk."

Abel caught the implications. Seth would be far away from the court for an extended period of time as a double agent, away from any method of obtaining orders or delivering information. An incredibly dangerous mission, but an incredibly free one. Should Seth truly decide to defect, he wouldn't know.
He pulled the COMP from Seth's hand and placed it in his pocket. "Then so be it. I can't inform my minions to not avoid you if we end up in a fight, though, so do be careful."
His grin widened, and the only real way to describe it would be "demonic". It fit, considering his race. "And don't worry. Should you truly defect... I will know. And I will find some way to kill you, dear brother. Or at least make you wish you were dead. I always have wanted to find out the extent of your abilities."

Seth felt his grip tightening on the COMP for a brief moment as Abel tried to pull it away. Seth wondered how much resistance Abel had felt as his fingers snapped straight, releasing the device. His mind had no realization that he'd gripped it but for half a second, and Abel would have felt no resistance. It only worried about the grip. In a way it felt as if he were releasing his life, and a harsh realization of just how much he mentally relied on the device rang loudly in his head. He let out a held breath as Abel gave his warning, and he frowned and looked further down than he already was. He recognized the hidden meaning of that. They'd go after him over other targets given the chance. He couldn't say he'd blame Abel for it, either.
The next warning earned a wince from the other man. Cain smirked at Abel's last line, and Seth could feel the shudder travelling up his nerves. It wasn't visible from the outside, and he fought off the urge to shake himself and make it visible. If he were truthful, he expected it at some point. Cain wasn't being open about the limitations of his healing, after all. All Seth knew at this point was Cain's hard to challenge claim that a human could cause his real death as well as a demon.
Seth gave a lurching nod of his head, difficulty being caused by the way it was already hanging down. He took a cautious step back, as if expecting to be stopped, and his footing was light even after he set his foot down.
"With.. with your leave, Your Majesty..."

"Go," Abel stated. He motioned with his hand toward the other end of the hallway, the way Seth had entered the hall.He watched Seth go, noting that the angellic presence he'd sensed followed after the man.
He waited for Seth and the angel to move out of sight and earshot. His entire body relaxed once Seth dropped out of sight on the staircase. Abel turned toward Cain.
"I think I overdid it a bit," Abel admitted.

Seth hadn't even given the time for half a breath after Abel's command before he shot down the stairs as if the devil Himself were on his heels... irony of the metaphor aside. Cain let out a sigh, not of stress so much as irritation, when Abel made his admittal. Cain didn't look at the older man as he spoke, merely gaved a very slight shrug and kept his eyes on the window he suspected hid nothing now.
"No more than Seth did," Cain stated. He smirked, "You settle on an angle of deception about as well as he does. I suppose I shouldn't expect more from twins."

Abel gave a shrug, and he shifted his feet a bit so that they were in a more comfortable position.
"He's definitely planning something, though what it is, I don't have a clue," Abel said. "It definitely involves both myself and Messiah. Other than that?" He shrugged. "I have nothing."

"Planning something? You give him too much credit," Cain said, although he was smiling as opposed to seeming truly upest, "His 'plan' as it were ended the moment you let him go. He's making most of this up as he goes along. Well, if it has you confused, it managed to be enough of a show for his purposes."
"If you'll give me that COMP, I'll be going back to the room," Cain smirked, "Unless you intend on keeping it active and letting our enemies think we're saving it for him?"

Abel chuckled and handed Cain the COMP. "And you don't give me enough credit. The moment Seth walked out of the shrine earlier I deactivated the demon summoning capabilities of his COMP. His COMP's been completely useless for the past few hours."
He turned to leave as well, but stopped midstep. There was an almost awkward expression on his face.
"Cain, is there any reason a large part of Babel's power would be locked from me?"

Cain's expression didn't change as Abel responded to Cain's jab. He merely flipped open the COMP and began flipping through the empty folders. He stopped a step away from the door to his room when Abel stopped. Cain was already looking towards him before he even got the words out. He smirked at the question.
"I believe I told you that Messiah's presence would create communication issues?" It was obvious he wasn't answering the question, and Abel would likely realize he was attempting to force Abel to clarify. Cain had never been one fore direct answers.

Abel shook his head and decided to ignore Cain's jab, what with the likely implication behind it.
"No, this is from before Messiah appeared," Abel explained. "There's a part of Babel I've never been able to access. After you were killed, I confronted Lucifer directly, and during the fight, some of that part of Babel entered my body... I think it was controlling me."

Cain's expression became serious as Abel continued to speak, his tone not changing from before and no reaction whatsoever to Cain's jab. He glanced at Seth's COMP again for a moment before closing it and sticking it in his pocket, crossing his arms. He seemed to be deep in thought for a few moments.
"How so?" Cain asked. A slight smirk appeared, but it didn't break Cain's serious expression, "It's obvious you didn't do well enough to earn his respect, or we wouldn't be having this little... argument with Hitoshura still. What happened with this 'control' that made Lucifer call off his assault?"

Abel stood nervously while Cain pondered the situation, looking a little annoyed at how long he was taking. While his expression told Abel that Cain was taking this seriously, he couldn't be sure his brother wasn't going to take his time making jabs at him or dodging around the questions. He looked extremely relieved when Cain asked his question.
"Just as Lucifer was about to kill me, I told him that Bel would turn its anger on him if I died by his hands," Abel explained, his expression holding both traces of annoyance and worry. "I couldn't say the exact words; it was a while ago. But it was along those lines."
