Alright, getting off my butt to post this, even if I still have to finish setting her intro up.

Being a Tanuki, Mamizou is pretty laid back; she enjoys the occasional prank, enjoys the occasional drink (which is partially why she has that sake bottle), and doesn't typically get enraged when a kitsune is near (The kitsune, on the other hand...)
History
Mamizou is, despite her claims to the contrary, quite old. She lived in Sado, Niigata for a long time. Her "retirement" from battles came to an end when her old friend Nue Houjuu contacted her to recruit her as a sort of "secret weapon" to help fight off the newly-reincarnated Toyosatomimi no Miko. She never got the opportunity to fight her, however, as she had already been beaten by Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae.
After Miko's defeat, Michael and Youmu continued investigating around the Myouren Temple. After Youmu defeated Nue, she left, but Michael kept exploring; Mamizou challenged him to a danmaku duel; almost beating him on her last spellcard. Michael managed to survive to the end, though; his ability to use danmaku and fly surprised Mamizou (because when she was younger and battled more often, only females had the ability to do that), and impressed with his ability, they became friends.
Michael and company stayed in Gensokyo for a little while; long enough to pick up some more supplies and spellcards. When Mamizou heard that Michael was going to be going to a place where worlds crossed, she was interested; ultimately, she coerced Michael into letting her come with.
Other
Due to the events of Ten Desires occurring through this, once Michael and Marisa return to Gensokyo through their next thread, they will gain the Trance ability and start working on an Overdrive spellcard upon Mamizou's intro thread (I'm hoping that that doesn't make them too powerful).
