Physical Description
Peter is a rather lean individual, lacking any form of noticeable muscle mass. Those that have gotten in close contact with him, in the form of hugs or otherwise, have noted that he's 'all muscle', but he's not visibly so. He keeps his light brown hair cut short, though if allowed to grow out it would reach around his upper neck. He's relatively short for his given age. Though he's 16, he's often mistaken for 13 when in costume due to his height. He generally wears a grey, long sleeved shirt underneath a short sleeved blue one, and a pair of dark brown cargo pants. His shoes are a simple pair of black trainers.
As Spider-Man, he puts on his red/blue spandex costume. He tends to keep his mask in his backpack while Peter Parker, and his civilian clothes in his backpack while Spider-Man. Assuming he has this backpack, of course. At night or when not at school, for example, he changes at home. His webshooters he keeps hidden underneath his gloves, leaving small slits through which he can fire his web fluid.
Weapons
-Web shooters: Spider-Man's web-shooters are twin devices worn on his wrists that can shoot thin strands of a special "web fluid" at high pressure (note: the fluid itself is pressurized at 300 psi, but the actual number has been known to change). The spinneret mechanism in the web-shooter was machined from stainless steel, except for the turbine component which was machined out of a block of Teflon, and the two turbine bearings which are made of amber and artificial sapphire. The wristlets and web fluid cartridges were mainly nickel-plated annealed brass. The wristlets had sharp steel nipples which pierced the bronze caps when the cartridges were tightly wedged into their positions. The hand-wound solenoid needle valve was actuated by a palm switch that was protected by a band of spring steel which required a 65 pound pressure to trigger. The switch was situated high on the palm to avoid most unwanted firings. The small battery compartment was protected by a rubber seal. The effect of the very small turbine pump vanes was to compress (shear) the web fluid and then force it, under pressure, through the spinneret holes which cold-drew it (stretches it: the process wherein nylon gains a four-fold increase in tensile strength), then extrudes it through the air where it solidified. As the web fluid exited the spinneret holes, it was attracted to itself electrostatically and thus could form complex shapes. The spinneret holes had three sets of adjustable, staggered openings around the turbine which permitted a single web line, a more complex, spun web line, and a thick stream. The web line's tensile strength was estimated to be 120 pounds per square millimeter of cross section. The 300 p.s.i. pressure in each cartridge was sufficient to force a stream of the complex web pattern an estimated 60 feet (goes significantly further if shot in a ballistic parabolic arc).
-Environmental: Peter is also able to weaponise parts of his environment, if need be.
-Utility Belt: While not technically a weapon, Spider-Man keeps a utility belt holding web cartridges and his signature Spider-Signal.
Abilities/Powers
-Wall-Crawling: Spider-Man's exposure to the mutated spider venom induced a mutagenic, cerebellum-wide alteration of his engrams resulting in the ability to mentally control the flux of inter-atomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers. This overcomes the outer electron shell's normal behavior of mutual repulsion with other outer electron shells and permits the tremendous potential for electron attraction to prevail. The mentally controlled sub-atomic particle responsible for this has yet to be identified. This ability to affect the attraction between surfaces is so far limited to Spider-Man's body (especially concentrated in his hands and feet) and another object, with an upper limit of several tons per finger. Limits to this ability seem to be psychosomatic, and the full nature of this ability has yet to be established.
-Superhuman Strength: Spider-Man possesses superhuman strength enabling him to press lift a fair amount more than an average individual. Spider-Man's physical strength is sufficient to lift and throw objects as heavy such as a semi truck, though it requires a fair amount of struggling. Spider-Man's physical strength also extends into his legs, enabling him to be able to jump to a height of several stories in a single bound. Spider-Man demonstrated this when he leaped over 30 ft vertically into the air when he first leaped out of the way of an oncoming car.
-Superhuman Speed: Spider-Man is capable of running and moving at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Spider-Man has showed to be fast enough to catch up to an accelerating car while on foot, but prefers to travel by webs.
-Superhuman Stamina: Spider-Man's advanced musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than an ordinary human. This allows him to exert himself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair him. At his peak, Spider-Man can physically exert himself at his peak capacity for several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. Several accounts depict Spider-Man as able to hold his breath for eight minutes or more.
-Superhuman Durability: Spider-Man's body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human. For example, he can withstand multiple hits from the Rhino, though at great physical duress.
-Superhuman Agility: Spider-Man's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Spider-Man is extraordinarily limber and his tendons and connective tissues are twice as elastic as the average human being's, despite their enhanced strength. He has the combined agility and acrobatic prowess of the most accomplished circus aerialists and acrobats. He can also perform any complicated sequence of gymnastic stunts such as flips, rolls, and springs. He can easily match or top any Olympic record at gymnastics apparatus such as flying rings, climbing ropes, horizontal bars, trampolines.
-Superhuman Equilibrium: Spider-Man possesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. He seems able to adjust his position by instinct, which enables him to balance himself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.
-Superhuman Reflexes: Spider-Man's reflexes are currently enhanced to about five times that of an average human being. He can, when combined with his spider sense, dodge out of the way of various attacks, including gunfire, even at point-blank range.
-Regenerative Healing Factor: Spider-Man has a limited healing factor. While not on Wolverine's level, it is sufficiently powerful enough to recover from severe injuries from broken bones and large amounts of tissue damage in a matter of days. After getting his powers, he soon found that his eyesight was repaired, discarding his glasses.
-Foreign Chemical Resistance: Due to his accelerated metabolism, Spider-Man has a higher tolerance for drugs and diseases than normal humans, and he can recover from the effects of larger doses rapidly. His resistance and recovery time to other toxins and diseases varies, but is typically significantly higher than normal. Spider-Man's unique physiology even allowed him to recover from the effects of vampirism.
-Spider Sense: Whenever danger is near, Spider-Man gets what he describes as a 'tingle' in his head, warning him of said impending danger. He doesn't seem to always know which direction the danger is coming from unless he has visible sight of it, however. In spite of his, during an encounter with the villain known as Mysterio, he blindfolded himself, cutting off his sense of sight and amplifying his spider sense. Through this method, he was able to tell which Mysterio clone was a robot, and therefore dangerous, and which was a hologram.
Skills
-Gifted Intellect: Academically gifted, Peter displays an uncanny affinity for science that is nothing short of genius.
-Skilled Photographer: Peter is a relatively skilled photographer, often leaving his camera strategically placed, and on auto-shoot.
Personality
Peter Parker went through his earlier years as a rather timid young man. This all changed once the spider bite changed his life, turning him into the amazing, the spectacular, the infallible Spider-Man! While not exactly the most popular kid around, Peter's more confident in his day to day life. Spider-Man or no Spider-Man, he can banter with the best of him. Something his foes tend to find out very quickly is that he never shuts up.
Even more importantly, he can never turn his back on a crime, or a wrongdoing. Sure, sometimes he makes the wrong move. Sometimes things that look like someone attacking someone else turn out to be the first individual aiding the second. But the point is, he tries. He does everything he can to be the best superhero he can. He looks up to the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, and the... other guys in the Avengers. Peter believes everyone deserves a second chance, as well, as noted when he points out that, yes, Marko did get his Big Score.
Peter tends to hide his fear behind his aforementioned bantering. He only ever really stops his banter when he's angry, or incredibly serious. Both of which go hand in hand, really. And even then, he might toss out the occasional banter, though in complete seriousness.
In the end, Peter Parker can be summed up in four words: trickster, warrior, protector, friend.
History
The Job At The Bugle
Peter Parker was an orphaned, young prodigy boy who lived with his aunt and in Forest Hills, Queens. Although an only child, Peter considered Eddie Brock a boy whose parents died with Peter's in a plane crash, his older brother; Peter and Eddie, in fact, knew each other as "Bro." In nursery school, Peter met and became best friends with Eugene Thompson, whom he nicknamed Flash due to his tendency to streak at the time. Their relationship, however, turned sour by high school. Flash became M3 High's star quarterback, and Peter became his favourite bullying victim, unceremoniously nicknamed "Puny Parker." Fortunately, Eddie would always be there to defend Peter from him, at least until his graduation. By high school, Peter had made two new best friends: Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn.
Towards the end of his Sophomore year, Peter's class took a field trip to Dr. Connors' lab at the Empire State University. There, he was bitten by a genetically enhanced spider, which had escaped from its container. The genetic code in the spider's venom rewrote Peter's DNA, giving him spider-related powers such as the relative strength, enhanced agility, and ability to stick to walls. Seeing potential in his powers, Peter developed wrist-mounted devices that shot a web-like fluid and designed a costume. Telling Uncle Ben he was studying at the library, Peter actually entered in a wrestling match, under the ring name of Spider-Man, for a prize of $1,000. Though he quickly beat the champion, Crusher Hogan, the manager, Sullivan Edwards, denied his prize money unless he signed to a contract. Angry about this condition, Peter let a burglar(later revealed to be Black Cat's father) get away with Edwards' vault money, telling Edwards it was not his problem.
Peter ended up walking home, as Uncle Ben seemingly never came to give him a ride. But upon arriving home, Peter learned the awful truth from his heartbroken aunt that a burglar had killed Ben for his car. When Peter caught the burglar, he was shocked to discover it was the same one he'd stepped aside for earlier. While tempted to kill the burglar as an act of vengeance, he knew Uncle Ben wouldn't approve. So, he spared his life and left him for the cops to collect. Peter then turned his Spider-Man persona into a superhero, finally taking to heart the message Uncle Ben tried to tell him the last time they spoke: "With great power, there must also come great responsibility."
The following summer vacation had been spent taking down crooks. But while this proved to be very easy, a mysterious crime lord code named “The Big Man” wanted him executed for foiling his operations, and he sent a special team called the Enforcers to do the dirty work. Meanwhile, Spider-Man found his start of Junior year occupied by fighting his first supervillain, The Vulture, off of Harry's dad, Norman. Peter, on the other hand, was struggling to help Aunt May pay off the accumulating bills. Peter and Gwen were offered intern ships at Dr. Connors' lab where college freshman Eddie was interning, but when he learned high school interns didn't get paid, he sought a job at the Daily Bugle for money. Unfortunately, the Bugle's editor-in-chief, J. Jonah Jameson, shot down Peter's idea to sell him pictures of Spider-Man in action immediately and kicked him out of his office.
However, Jameson had actually stolen Peter's ideas as his own and published a contest. Peter later managed to win the contest as a result of taking pictures of Spider-Man fighting the Lizard, whom Dr. Connors' had accidentally turned himself into as a result of experimenting with lizard DNA, but--despite Peter having never shown anything that linked Connors to the Lizard--this action alienated Peter from his friends at the ESU lab--particularly Eddie. An upset Peter decided to take a vial of the same gene cleanser that cured Dr. Connors and use it to "cure" himself of his spider powers, but he decided to keep it for later, remaining Spider-Man for the time being.
New Rogues' Gallery
While Peter takes on the responsibility of helping Aunt May pay the bills, Montana(the Big Man's Enforcer) becomes the stunning Shocker to fulfil his responsibility: eliminating Spider-Man. Peter loses their first encounter, nearly being crushed in a trash compactor. Their second encounter, however, takes place in a condemned building. This allows Peter to use Shocker's power set(repulsor rays, essentially) to his advantage, tricking him into bringing the building down. Things die down for a bit, until Harry decides to try out for the football team. He asks Peter to try out alongside him, for moral support, but Peter at first declines. However, after hearing fellow student Kong talk about using Harry as a tackling dummy, Peter tries out with him, if only to defend him.
As Peter Parker and Harry Osborn try out for the football team, Spider-Man must face convict Flint Marko, newly transformed into the Sandman in order to destroy Spider-Man. Peter's quite surprised to discover that Marko, who in all fairness used to be just a joke, is now bouncing around with his own set of powers. Sandman really pushes him, beating him at every encounter. It isn't until their last, at a construction site, that Peter's able to dump a fair amount of cement onto him, encasing him until proper authorities can arrive.
Days later, Peter Parker struggles to get a date for the Fall Formal, and to figure out a way to pay for it. Meanwhile, the unstoppable Rhino– the latest of the Big Man's creations – has sworn vengeance on Spider-Man. Rhino makes it personal, taking it to the only photographer to successfully get a picture of Spider-Man: Peter Parker. While Aunt May is at the Bugle, informing Ms. Brant that she's a bit to old to accompany Peter to his fall formal, Rhino shows up, asking for Parker. In a surprising turn of events, Jonah shoos away the unseen Peter, telling Rhino that he doesn't have an address, that he e-mails all of his work in. Peter realises, in the ensuing confrontation with Rhino, that due to his impenetrable suit, O'Hirn can only sweat out of his face. He gets him into a self-made steam tunnel, taking him out.
Spidey takes the battle directly to the source of his troubles, the previously invisible hand, who has been secretly conducting his villain-of-the-week attacks. But the Big Man offers a surprising solution to Spidey's problems, a tempting offer he doesn't think our hero can afford to refuse. A paycheck for going out and being Spider-Man, as long as he looks the other way any time the Big Man asks. Peter readily refuses, telling him that he can never look the other way again.
On the night of the Midtown High Fall Formal, Peter Parker finds his overconfidence is nearly his undoing – as both a teenager and a superhero. While his date Mary Jane Watson threatens to invert Midtown's social structure, Peter begins to enjoy the night. So when the mysterious and murderous Green Goblin tries to force L. Thompson Lincoln (a.k.a. Tombstone) to step down as NYC's Big Man of crime, Spider-Man cuts it a bit close. If being thrown out of a window wasn't enough, the Goblin later informs him, while being tied up, that the building is filled with a few of his self-made pumpkin bombs, set to explode in mere minutes. He rushes back, evacuates the building, and manages to throw the bomb far enough away that it does no damage. Tombstone rubs it in that, yes, he still ended up doing the Big Man's work, and yes, he did so for free.
Green Goblin ultimately escapes his binding, disappearing off the radar for a bit. He stayed this way, until suddenly appearing in OsCorp labs, turning off the safety on the experiment Doctor Otto Octavius was checking on. Octavius pleaded with whoever was outside to turn them back on, to no reply. The metal arms he used to interact with experiments welded to his flesh, allowing him to control them with his mind, as long as they had power. He had to briskly leave the ensuing confrontation with Spider-Man, so that he could exchange his old power pack for a new one.
Octavius then decided to visit his old workplace. He had been working on a particular project there, a power source that would last for years. Spider-Man interfered, taking the power pack and fleeing to the carnival. His plan was to keep Octavius busy until his current power pack ran out, but the good Doctor, now going by Doc Ock, pointed out that he would be able to go for hours. He bashed Peter over the cranium, sending the teenager into seeming unconscious. Unfortunately for him, it was a feint. When Doc Ock removed his original power pack to put in his new one, Peter webbed them both away, readily taking out Octavius now that his arms were out of commission. Unfortunately for him, his date with Liz to the carnival ultimately upset the social order, leading to a breakup between Flash and Liz. M3's power couple was now disbanded.
As Colonel John Jameson struggled to land his damaged space shuttle, Spider-Man struggled to defeat the Green Goblin, who also threatened Hammerhead and Tombstone. He set up a trap for the three of them, dangling Hammerhead over a vat of lava and turning up the heat. The three managed to escape, Peter tussling with the Goblin, ultimately injuring the Goblin's ankle. But Peter Parker's biggest challenge would be facing the truth when he finally learns the Goblin's "true" identity: Harry Osborn. Norman negotiated with Spider-Man, telling him he would get Harry the help he needed, as long as the entire event stayed out of the media. Spider-Man agreed, saying the Goblin was no more, his ultimate fate a mystery.
Courtesy of a symbiotic alien life form, Spider-Man began to wear a black costume while he was framed when another Spider-Man started making robberies in New York. However, the impostor was actually the Chameleon, a criminal who used various disguises, inventions, and effects with the help of Quentin beck and Phineas Mason. It was up to the web-slinger to team up with the cat burglar known as the Black Cat, whom he earlier stopped from stealing the symbiote, to stop his new enemy's crime spree and clear his name. Unfortunately for the webhead, the Black Cat has other ideas.
With Electro's help, Doctor Octopus broke himself, Vulture, Sandman, Rhino, and Shocker out of Ryker's Island prison to quench their mutual thirst for revenge. Peter goes through subtle personality changes, courtesy of his new black suit. He urges his aunt and a friend of hers into the local movie theater while he deals with two of the Sinister Six. Unbeknownst to him, this excitement proved too much for Aunt May, giving her a heart attack. Peter counted himself lucky upon reaching his home to find her gone. He hoped to wake up in the morning and find Doc Ock and his band of merry men back in Ryker's, and... that's what he got. His black suit took over for the night, leaving him on auto-pilot and ultimately defeating the six.
Meeting Venom
With his Aunt May in a hospital and his friendship with Eddie Brock ruined, Peter finally gains enough self-awareness to realize the alien Symbiote is starting to take over his mind and turning him more aggressive. Creating a battleground in Peter's own mind and memories from his past, Peter must defeat the symbiote before it can take full control of his mind and face the repercussions. When fighting the symbiote's control in the mind, Peter gains help from an unlikely ally: his Uncle Ben. Or at least, his mental representation of him. Combined with this and a memory of all of his friends, all of the people he's me that he's cared about, Peter manages to purge himself of the symbiote. He breaks back into ESU, attempting to destroy it by freezing it. Eddie urges him to stop, pointing out that it's his last hope to keep his job. Spider-Man seemingly doesn't listen, dropping the temperature to its lowest possible setting. This doesn't destroy the symbiote. To be honest, it barely slows it down. Eddie realises this, putting a hand upon the glass. He notices that it seems to be... calling out to him. He opens its container, and the symbiote bonds with him. Venom is born.
Peter begins to celebrate Thanksgiving as his Aunt May is released from the hospital. Eddie Brock repeatedly stalks Peter and threatens to destroy who Peter loves. Peter believes this to refer to Mary Jane, but in actuality, Eddie means Gwen. He stands next to her, in his Eddie Brock persona, at the parade under the guise of 'moral support'. He ties her to one of the oncoming floats, fighting Spider-Man as he struggles to save her. In the end, he can only rip the float open, hoping to give her a slow fall. Unfortunately for him, her rope breaks, sending her careening towards the ground. Luckily, the football team manages to save her, urging Pete to go handle Venom. In the end, he succeeds, burying the symbiotic life form under freshly placed cement. Unfortunately, he loses track of Eddie. At the very end of the big dinner with Aunt May and the Stacy's, Gwen shows her emotions towards Peter by giving him a kiss in which Peter realizes how much he cares for her.
The New Sinister Six And The Master Planner
It’s early December, and the first snow is falling. Peter Parker has a long “To Do” list – leading off with talking to Gwen Stacy about their surprise first kiss. But before he gets the chance, Spider-Man has a run in with Chameleon's henchman Quentin Beck who has just become Mysterio. Mysterio baffles Spider-Man at every encounter, seemingly using real magic on the teenaged wall-crawler. After a few select Latin phrases, he manages to put anyone within range to sleep, to teleport items, even to summon various menacing beasts. Peter follows him on his teleport, however, discovering that Electro's 'magic' works through the use of robots and holograms. He blindfolds himself, allowing his spider sense to take over, dodging attacks that could be deadly and just walking through his holograms.
Both Gwen Stacy and Liz Allan like Peter Parker. This leads Peter to actively struggle with the decision of who to pursue. Not to mention, he's still been unable to talk to Gwen about their surprise kiss. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter has come to New York to make Spider-Man his prey! Peter somewhat easily defeats him in their first encounter, but by their second, Kraven has turned himself into a half-man, half-lion beast. It's a struggle, but Peter manages to put the hunter down.
As Christmas approaches, the Sinister Six reconstitutes with Sandman, Rhino, Vulture, Electro and new members Mysterio and Kraven. All they want for Christmas is Spider-Man – dead. Meanwhile, Peter Parker finds his wandering eye prevents him from being with Gwen Stacy. He’ll have to learn to focus if he wants to get the girl… and if he wants to stay alive. Peter has a lot of trouble fighting the Six this time. Especially since, to be fair, in their last encounter, the Symbiote had the wheel. Peter's nearly killed, but he manages to handle all of the six.
It’s New Year’s Eve, and all is not right with the world. The Master Planner and his henchmen are literally planning to take over the world. The Master Planner's plan jumps into action, so he kidnaps Gwen Stacy in order to blackmail her dad, Captain George Stacy, into sneaking into the United States Department of Homeland Security HQ and stealing codes that will give him access to every computer in the world. However, Spider-Man manages to locate the Tinkerer, threatening his life in exchange for information about the Master Planner. Tinkerer reveals that the Planner is, in a surprising turn of events, Doc Ock! Peter swims into his underground lair, engaging in battle with Electro. Ultimately, he destroys Ock's lair beyond repair(that did indeed just rhyme). Ock enters the fray, but he merely worsens the damage, being forced to jettison himself away in an escape pod.
Peter finds himself trapped under a light fixture, unable to get up. He prepares to surrender, accepting his fate, until he hears Gwen groan from the other end of the room. He musters all his enhanced strength, forcing the fixture off of him and limping over to the remaining pod with Gwen in tow. The two manage to pilot it away, escaping just before the lair explodes. Liz Allan kisses Peter in the end of the escapades, saying that she cares about Flash, but wants to be with Peter.
Merely days later, school’s back in session, and things have changed. Peter Parker’s actually invited to Flash Thompson’s birthday bash. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has to party with Sandman who’s once again looking to make his Big Score. Sandman, in an attempt to stop a ship full of petrol increases his size. Sandman loses his score, but turns into a hero in the eyes of everyone by sacrificing himself to save the crew of the ship when it catches fire. When everyone is gone and thinks he's dead, Sandman reintegrates himself and leaves the city, finally content that he had made his Big Score. It turns out that Eddie was stalking Peter, so he could make Pete paranoid enough to reveal where the symbiote was buried.
Of Venom And Goblins
Venom is back and framing Spider-Man. Meanwhile, alien spores infect John Jameson increasing his size, strength and mass. J. Jonah Jameson convinces his son to become "Colonel Jupiter" a superhero to capture Spidey. After a massive fight, John Jameson is cured from the alien spore and loses his powers, then he's forced into a psychiatric hospital after he goes insane, missing his powers. In the end, Venom crashes through the window of the Daily Bugle, and reveals that Peter is really Spider-Man.
Peter's life is an absolute wreck at this point. Harry's back, Harry and Gwen are dating, Venom's framed him a fair bit(though the police are certain he wasn't to blame, the public will never quite trust him the same again), and now the world knows his secret identity. Or at least, think they do. They're quite unsure, to be honest. So Peter's hounded, with reporter after reporter showing up on his doorstep, at his school, everywhere. Venom's gambit has come full-circle, with any suspicious acts on Peter's part seeming... well, suspicious.
Flash Thompson, upset at his hero being accused of really being M3's biggest geek, dresses up as Spider-Man. A couple of local thugs drive by, noticing Flash's crutch and cast. Deciding that Spider-Man is suitably 'gimped out' to be taken out, the two prepare to attack Flash. Luckily, the real Spider-Man shows up, quickly dispatching them. Unluckily, Venom shows up. He attacks Peter, leading to a fight through the school as Pete struggles to keep his mask on. Eddie has also obtained a vial of gene cleanser, which he tries to force down Peter's throat, hoping to leave him maskless and powerless. This backfires on him, and Peter is able to force it down Eddie's throat, forcing the suit to reject him. Despite Peter's efforts, the suit escapes into the drains. Eddie is put in a mental hospital for thinking he's this 'Venom' gent.
A gang war rages as Silver Sable, Hammerhead, and Doctor Octopus all vie for a chip with the plans to create an army of Rhinos. Spider-Man intervenes, finding himself unable to take on all three. Luckily for him, O'Hirn isn't too happy about the concept of more than one Rhino either, wanting to be the only one on his turf. They have a momentary team up, and the chip is destroyed. Rhino then goes back on their truce, predictably, and uses the trick Spidey earlier used against the Shocker on him, bringing a building down on the two. Peter makes it out, and Rhino is sent back to Ryker's.
Peter's life is essentially a long stream of bad luck. He learns this the hard way when he's forced to take a police car ride with resident Libby, Sally Avril. He breaks off from her and Captain Stacy, however, upon realising the Enforcers are back. And oh, back they are. But with a new twist: Powers. Montana is of course Shocker, Ox is now... ox, and Fancy Dan is now Ricochet. Ox's strength is in creased tenfold, which Spider-Man learns the hard way, and Ricochet... well, he ricochets. It's sort of in the name. In any case, they quickly beat the webhead, escaping in their train with gold for the Big Man. Spider-Man refuses to let them get away quite so easily, and he quickly latches on to their train, leaping inside. He manages to derail their entire train with a few gold bars. The new Enforcers then try to escape on foot, but they're apprehended by the police.
On Valentine’s Day, Peter Parker jeopardizes his relationship with girlfriend Liz Allan, when Tombstone, Doctor Octopus and Silvermane call a Valentine’s Day Summit. But when Hammerhead betrays them all in an attempt to become the new Big Man, the summit erupts into a gang war – one only Spider-Man can stop! He easily defeats Silvermane, powering down his robot suit. The Big Man and Doc Ock are a bit tougher, especially with the Big Man helping him as long as there are witnesses. After the three fall into the sewer systems, however, Lincoln turns on him, leaving the fight a free-for-all. It's a challenge, but the webhead dispatches the duo. Jameson attempts to call him out for also tying up the Big Man, citing that the fellow HELPED him, but after a statement from Doctor Octopus, Jameson begrudgingly withdraws his complaint.
Following this, Peter's determined to be a better boyfriend. After walking out on Liz during their Valentine's Day date, he figures the least he can do is help her brother get out of his gambling ring. If not as Peter Parker, he can at least help as Spider-Man. Upon following Mark, however, he realises that the teen's been tricked into doing Green Goblin's bidding. He's forced to fight an armoured-up Mark, all the while doing his best to keep MJ and Gwen safe as Mark sets the building around them on fire. He manages to finally dispatch Mark, getting him sent to Ryker's. He shows up in his Peter Parker persona to comfort Liz, giving her a shoulder to cry on.
To make sure the felons in Ryker's can no longer escape, Spider-Man agrees to allow himself to be locked in the Vault for a day, to test the systems. He remains lax for a bit, lounging around and looking for a way to break out by force. Finding none, and realising he's going to be late, he webs the cameras, forcing Osborn to send down a few guards. He quickly dispatches them, leaving them unconscious and in his cell as he makes a break for it. Unbeknownst to him, he's receiving help from the Goblin-- who then decides to open up the cells of every villian Spidey had ever defeated. Were it not for Black Cat's interference, due to her being there to break her father out, he would have died. But with her help, he managed to get out. He then discovered that, to his surprise, her father was the man that killed his uncle. He agreed to stay behind to give Felicia and Peter time to escape and get Ryker's back under control, feeling guilt for his actions. As a result of this, Black Cat now hated Peter.
The adventure begins with Peter Parker as Spider-man in a fight with some Pumpkin Heads, the Green Goblin's hired help. With not much effort, the group is defeated and Spidey interrogates them of the Gobby's whereabouts. None of them know where he is and Spidey swings away frustrated, losing hope that Harry(who has been missing for days) would be found and helped. As he leaves the scene a sneaky Pumpkin Head drives a truck full of weaponry away from the warehouse-like scene.
The Brilliant Conclusion
In another part of New York, Gwen Stacy sits at her desk at home. She has kept the make-over Mary Jane gave her and now wears an orange head band bringing her ever closer to her classic look. Her eyes are captured by a picture of her and Peter when she is alerted of someone outside by a rock thrown at her window. She opens her window to find Harry Osborn(the supposed Green Goblin) calling out to her, asking for her help.
The scene then shifts to the Parker residence where Peter is the phone assuring his girlfriend Liz Allan that he couldn't have gone to the play even if Aunt May was in it. Things cool down with them, but a concerned Aunt May finally tells Peter that he needs to be truthful with Liz and Gwen because he's hurting all of them. Before Pete can fix that up, Gwen calls him to ask for help with Harry.
Pete arrives at the Stacys'. When he sees Harry he is cautious but remains calm because Peter Parker doesn't know who the Goblin is, Spidey does. Harry explains to them that his dad and Spider-man thought he was the Goblin subconsciously, but that's in the past. He now believes the Goblin is someone else because his kidnapper of the past few days was the Goblin. Gwen tells him he should tell his dad, but Harry and Pete reject that idea-Harry unsure of his dad's fatherly love and Pete suspecting him of being the Goblin. Eventually they agree to do so and Harry leaves happy. Peter and Gwen awkwardly part, but Peter decides it's time to be honest with her and himself. They both reveal their love for each other unaware of it reaching a hurt Harry's ears.
Time shifts again, and we're at the Osborn residence. Harry reveals who his kidnapper was to his dad. Spidey swings in accusing Norman of being the Goblin because he saw his "secret" hide out which Harry points out to only be the wine cell. Confused, Peter reflects on the Goblin's identity and is too deep in thought his reaction is late when a bunch of pumpkin bombs blow him off the balcony. A fight between Spider-man and a the Goblin ensues. After the Goblin escapes, Spidey knows he's the real thing because of his actions and words. To find out the only other person who could be the Goblin, Norman Osborn reflects on who knows about the Globulin Green. The only suspect left is Donald Menken. Information on his location will have to wait.
Gwen and Pete are at school and trying to break up with their significant others to be together. Mary Jane catches them, but they shyly deny it and walk away.
At lunch, Peter and Liz share an awkward moment and he seems really distracted. Peter can't take it any more and kindly breaks up with Liz wishing to remain friends. It takes awhile for it to hit home as Liz looks around at all her popular friends who have their own boyfriends and girlfriends. In an outburst she loudly breaks up with Peter before he can with her and dramatically leaves the cafeteria. When she is alone the mask is gone and she is seen breaking into tears-- her true reaction.
The Connors are leaving due to the past events with Miles Warren. While moving their things Pete and Gwen come to see them. They say their goodbyes and Mrs. Connors warns them of Miles Warren.
Spidey comes back to the still broken down Osborn residence and gets the lead on Donald Menken. Harry and Norman follow by Harry's surprising helicopter piloting. At a unidentified location(known only as Menken's apartment), Spider-man confronts Menken about being the Goblin. He denies it just as the apartment is filled with knock-out gas. The Goblin is there and they start to fight. Harry uses the helicopter to break the window glass freeing the room of the gas.
The fight continues outside of the building into New York's atmosphere. Beforehand, Gobby had set traps all throughout the city to get Spider-man once and for all. More of the Gobsquad(Pumpkin Heads) attack Spidey, but he can't be defeated. Gobby and Spidey once again meet and start to fight harder. As Spidey jumps on the Goblin, his suit all torn up, he webs the Goblin's mask. Swooping high and low the Green Goblin pushes Spider-man off his glider onto the roof pavement. With him falls Gobby's mask and the secret is revealed-- it's Norman Osborn.
Harry is in shock seeing as his father is sitting right next to him in the helicopter, but then he remembers: his "father"(sitting in the helicopter) had apologized to Spider-man before when he aided them in finding the Goblin. "Norman Osborn never apologizes!" he accuses his "father" and pulls of his face-mask revealing the Norman Osborn on the helicopter to be the Chameleon.
The Chameleon quickly makes his escape and Spidey seeing the Chameleon swings toward the real Goblin of Norman Osborn. He angrily holds him responsible for framing Harry and Norman explains everything from taking the Green in a gaseous form to twisting Harry's leg framing him and using Chameleon as a decoy. Norman defends himself saying he was doing it to make a man out of Harry. Angrier than ever, Spider-man swings by and throws a pumpkin bomb into the glider's flyer flinging a surprised Gobby to one of the traps for Spidey: an arsenal of pumpkin bombs to be shot. The glider and the Green Goblin are pushed into in the containment, the green gas going off, the pumpkins blowing sky high. The Green Goblin is dead.
A funeral transpires leaving Mrs. Osborn a widow and Harry fatherless. Harry stifles his silent anger at Spider-man's part in it claiming Spider-man should have helped Norman, not... well, killed him. He hugs Gwen as Peter looks on guiltily. Then in a twisted way of revenge Harry asks Gwen what she wanted to tell him. He knows she wanted to break up with him for Pete and warns her of his downward spiral back to the Green if he didn't have her. Looks like Gobby jr. might have arrived. Gwen and Peter share a look agreeing on it and Gwen tells him it was nothing, staying with him out of guilt. They walk away from Pete, leaving Spider-Man to stand alone that night thinking how New York is safe from the Green Goblin at least.
Peter's life by this point is rather poor. Black Cat hates him, Eddie's gone insane, the Connors have left, Harry hates his Spider-Man persona, Harry MIGHT hate his Peter persona, Gwen's staying with Harry out of guilt, Liz hates him, and he is... ultimately, alone. But at least the city's safe again.
Other
This actually went through a fair amount of changes. At some point I was going to go with Ultimate Spider-Man, but it was impossible to bump that down to less than 20,000 words and Mugen wouldn't allow me to post it unless it was at least under 15k(for reference, my original WIP was over 50k, without personality or appearance). As another note, and I'll likely do this for most of my comic canons(assuming the mods/admin have no problem with it), I'm allowing versions of Peter from other continuities without having to message me for permission. Unless it's an AU Peter from Earth 26496, like, say, Spectacular Spider-Man if one were to ignore its second season, in which case I believe the rule still applies. Otherwise, go crazy.
