Full Name: Soul Calibur
Nickname(s): Soul
Age: Some people theorize she was created back during the ages of ancient day Mesopotamia, or even further back then that.
Height: Now that she has a sword form, she's roughly around 4 1/2 feet long
Weight: Varies. Since Gantz is her current owner, she only lets him weild her and swing her around, and when he swings her around, she's relatively light in weight. If anybody else picks her up, she either grows up to several thousand tons, or crystalizes whoever tries to use her.
Gender: Technically, Soul doesn't have a gender. However, her spirit is spoken with a female voice, so people assume she's female.
Race: Has no race, because she's a sword with a soul.
Alliance: Really, it depends on her weilder, and since her Weilder is Gantz, she's a protagonist.
Home: Has none. Lives with whoever her current owner, whoever he may be.
Franchise: The Soul Calibur Franchise. Her appearance here picks up several hundred years after Soul Calibur 4.
Physical Description
Normally, she takes the form of a one handed long sword, with a crystalline blade. The sword itself used to be the 'Onion Sword' one of the most powerful weapons in the Final Fantasy Franchise [Not counting the Weapon Series from Final Fantasy 7.] See the attached picture to see what the weapon looks like.
Weapons
She IS a weapon.
Abilities/Powers
Aside from BEING a sword, she has the power to grant physical and magical enhancements to whomever weilds her, she has incredible powers over Crystalization magic. She is capable of crystalizing any being into a crystal shell, freezing them in place for as long as she likes. Normally this ability is used to banish foes from her life forever, by freezing them for all eternity.
Skills
Has none to note... Though she is EXTREMELY sharp, both mentally (Due to several hundred, maybe even thousand years of living) and physically (Again, she's a freaking sword.)
Personality
Originally, Soul Calibur was self-righteous, haughty and very well EXTREMELY snooty... However, due to recent events (Ergo, being stuck sharing Gantz's body), she's unwittingly inherited a few of the boy's more heroic tendencies, such as NOT killing people, or crystalizing them if they piss her off. While still high, mighty and cynical, she is still at the very least a bit more accepting.
History
Soul Calibur was created many hundred years ago only a few years after the creation of her brother Soul Edge. The Hero King Algol, striken with grief at the loss of his son to Soul Edge, hired the greatest sage in all of the land, took several pieces of the evil sword from the main whole and purified them. After many failed attempts, Soul Calibur was created, Algol sacrificing himself to complete the ritual. However, due to Algol's thirst for power, even if it WAS to defeat Soul Edge, Soul Calibur became far from good, even becoming like Soul Edge in nature. A sect of monks found the sword and kept it hidden for many centuries, keeping the sword purified to hide the dark personality within.
Many years later, Soul Calibur somehow managed to leave the sight of the monks and landed in the treasure trove of the Ling Sheng Su temple, having changed it shape to a one handed short sword and being called the Krita-Yuga, which made up one of a trinity of three holy weapons, the two other weapons being a boe-staff called Kali-Yuga (Which is Kilik's boe-staff), and the Dvapara-Yuga, a mirror capable of purifying anyone and anything corrupted by evil energy. All was peaceful... Until one day, Krita-Yuga had been stolen from the temple by one of the monks, Kong Xiuquiang, and handed to his lover Chai Xiangfei, the mother of Chai Xianghua.
Xianghua inherited the battered sword, unaware of its true form. After a series of events, she, alongside Kilik, fought with Nightmare at Ostrheinsburg Castle, and used the holy blade to shatter Soul Edge. However, Inferno, a creation of the blade, took Soul Calibur and plunged with it into an abyss of its own making. A few more years passed when the sword appeared again, this time corrupted by the evil of the abyss into an evil version of herself. Due to the two evil swords running around, the world fell into disarray...
However, when Nightmare had almost completed Soul Edge, Raphael Sorel, a man that had been corrupted by Soul Edge in his youth and turned into a vampire-like creature, appeared and pierced the eye of Soul Edge during his battle against the Azure Knight. He was weakened considerably. Soul Calibur was freed from the darkness and so was Soul Edge's host at the time, Siegfried Schtauffen, who regained his sanity. Soul Calibur appeared from where it was trapped within the cursed blade, and Siegfried drove it into the core of Soul Edge. Now both blades are silent, seemingly powerless, locked in a fateful Soul Embrace, a state of being for the two swords where they were merged together in a peaceful slumber, and so they remained for a few years.
Time passed, and eventually Siegfried and the new Nightmare met at the Lost Cathedral. A ritual induced by Zasalamel broke the Soul Embrace and each sword was freed from the grasp of the other. Nightmare grasped the Cursed Blade while Siegfried took the Spirit Sword. The swords clashed, and their opposing energies caused a great release of energy which destroyed the cathedral and hurled the two warriors away from one another, injuring them both severely. Saved and sustained by Soul Calibur, Siegfried drew a strong connection with the blade, with his armor covered in crystals that match the sword's new form. Siegfried pursued Nightmare for many weeks until the two met each other once more in an undisclosed location. By the end of the battle, Nightmare was defeated by Siegfried, and, in a moment of victory and supposed enlightenment, Siegfried crystalized himself, Soul Calibur, Nightmare, Soul Edge, and the tower they had their battle in. Many rumors circulate that the battle took place somewhere in Mesopotamia...
Other
Following along with the apparent continuity that's bound to come in Soul Calibur 5, Siefried only crystalized himself and Nightmare, before a mysterious power prevented the crystalization from affecting the rest of the world, in fact, the tower the two had their final battle in had all but vanished off the face of the earth...
Several hundred years later, a un-named happening took place that seperated Soul's... Well... Soul from her physical form. Theories have been created stating that Soul Calibur's original form had been destroyed, though the spirit isn't saying. Wandering around in the Catacombs in between worlds, she eventually found a young man mourning the loss of his home world and friends. Seeing her chance, Soul offered her services in exchange for helping to solve his problems, one of them saving the young man's girlfriend...
And the rest is history.
