Full Name: Nightmare
Nickname(s): Azure Knight, Soul Edge
Age: Really, really old (existed since ancient times as the sword)
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 212 pounds
Gender: Considers itself male, but doesn’t care either way
Race: Considering it’s the will of an evil sword embodied…
Alliance: Chaotic Evil/ Antagonist
Home: Unknown (Used to reside in the city of Ostrheinsburg, but actual place of origin is unknown)
Franchise: Soulcalibur
Physical Description: See the picture below.
Weapons Soul Edge
Abilities/Powers: As the wielder (not to mention the actual personification) of Soul Edge, Nightmare has many terrifying powers, the most dangerous being his ability to absorb souls into his sword. However, due to circumstances listed below, he is unable to use his powers without consent. (He cannot absorb souls at all on the Island.)
SkillsAs he was once the alter ego of Siegfried, he is capable of powerful swordsmanship, with his attacks usually slamming his opponents around as well as smashing them with his sword. He’s fairly slow, but that never bothers him.
Personality: He is a ruthless and merciless monster, looking down on those he considers pathetic, and shows no compassion or remorse for his many horrendous deeds. All he cares about is absorbing more souls into his sword.
History: If one must know Nightmare, they need to know Soul Edge.
Not much is known about the origin of the sword. Its first known wielder was the Hero King, Agol, who was able to resist its influence. His son, who stole the blade out of jealousy, wasn’t so lucky and wound up killed.
Much of its history is known only by a select few, until its appearance at an auction, where it was stolen by the pirate Cervantes, who wound up possessed by the blade. He slaughtered countless people to feed the sword, until the thing was taken from him by Siegfried after his death by the hunter Taki.
However, he wasn’t able to resist the sword’s effects either, and was transformed into the monster many refer to as Nightmare.
And trust me, they had a good reason.
After many events, Siegfried and Nightmare became two separate entities, with Soul Edge’s ‘soul’, known as Inferno, inhabited the armor. He proceeded to go on yet another soul-stealing spree, after which he had one final duel with Siegfried, where they were both crystallized by the power of Soul Calibur.
After some time had passed, Nightmare was unfrozen by the CEO of Crystal Room LMT, K. Raleigh, who proceeded to bind Nightmare to his will (As the being would not cooperate with him under any circumstances) to use him as a servant. He is now on Dimensional Island with Raleigh, awaiting further orders.
Other:1. Soul Edge generally corrupts those who utilize the blade or is affected by it or its shards in some manner, which usually results in those being controlled or influenced by it. Raleigh was completely unaffected by the sword, meaning that either he has a particularly strong will, or he found a way to control Nightmare without being affected. (Please note that Raleigh does not use the sword himself in any capacity.)
2. While Nightmare is incapable of doing anything without Raleigh’s sayso, he is able to speak freely.
3. Nightmare will only be used for threads involving Raleigh and Yana. There will be no soul-sucking.
