The horrorterrors have strange ways. Once your lives are up, you're given to them. One way or another. And they get to decide what sorts of machinations are in store for you.
Sometimes, it seems like they've shown you mercy. But who knows what their plans are.
---------
A gray skinned girl in a green jacket mysteriously appeared in the caves. Her blue tail lay strewn to her side, and her cat-face hood was sloughed off her head halfway. Her breathing was shallow but steady, as if her body had forgotten how to breathe and was relearning.
She made a groaning noise, and slowly came to. Who was this girl again?
>Enter name.
Your name is NEPETA LEIJON.
You used to live in a CAVE, with your lusus. You enjoyed FRIENDLY ROLE PLAYING. You used to stalk GREAT BEASTS with your CLAWS AND TEETH, and you used to paint YOUR WALL with their blood.
You played A GAME with your eleven friends. Not anymore. That is just a good memory gone by. You lived in a LABORATORY with them when something went wrong. But that was okay, you had all your good friends with you.
Your best pal tried to keep you safe. Now he's gone. So are you.
You're all alone, with no idea where you are, how you got here, or how to get back to your friends.
What will you do?

It was a cave, that much was certain. Not all that different from the cave of the past she and her friends traversed through to encounter their worst enemy.
Her friends... Paula still hadn't seen Jeff or Prince Poo in quite awhile. And she still hadn't found where Ness had vanished to. And if she understood correctly, their enemy Giygas lived on in this island, the side effect of some horrible artifact called the Chaos Heart. And his right-hand man, Ness's bratty neighbor Porky, had somehow come into command of an entire army wearing pig-shaped masks since they last saw him in the cave.
As she mulled all this over in her mind, Paula suddenly became aware she wasn't alone in this cave. Lying off to the side was a gry cat-like girl in a green jacket. She appeared to be just waking up, and she still seemed really out of it.
Curiosity getting the better of her, Paula softly and slowly approached the girl and cleared her throat. "Ahem... Hello," she said as the girl came to. "Are you all right?"

The cat troll looked to the source of the noise she heard, blinking. It appeared to be a young human girl, she almost looked like Rose, if Rose were younger. She looked her over. She looked to be about five sweeps old, slightly younger than she herself was. Her pink themed attire was very pretty, if a little brighter than she was used to seeing. The girl was cute, and Nepeta smiled at the very thought. She liked cute things.
Then the reality of it hit home. A human? Then am I on...
She cleared her throat, before nodding and speaking. Her voice was a little hoarse, as if it hadn't been used in centuries. Or perhaps minutes.
"Hello... I'm all right yes... why are you here anyway?" she asked, a little shaken up. Suddenly, she felt incredibly alone. And with that aloneness came an urge to hug the little girl, and so she did, lunging forward and gently wrapping her arms round the girl. "I... Thank you fur coming..."

Not surprisingly, the Ignewaxes of the cave were holed up in their own little section. For now, their leader, Waxevius, was slithering through the cave at the moment, his volcanoe-like body keeping the area lit.
That's when he saw the two girls, and nearly freaked.
"In...Truders..." he began to shake, before charging at them. "What are you two doing here?! My minions and I are the only ones that live here freely, thank you!!"

"Well..." she admitted. "I just... had a feeling I might be needed here..."
Being a psychic, Paula often did have a tenancy to follow such instincts, as they typically were right. But despite her powers, she was so focused on the cat-like girl to sense any other presence there and was surprised when another voice piped up. Turning around, she saw some kind of living volcanic candlestick staring the two of them down.

"Well, thank you fur coming... I hate being alone..." Nepeta smiled, before turning to face the third party.
"Wha??" Instincts coming to surface, Nepeta bared her claws, which she was thankful she still had. She dropped to a fighting stance and bared her teeth, ready to kill whatever intruder dared attack her and her new friend. In an instant, the cute cat troll had turned into a fierce killing being.
She sidled to stand between Paula and the odd candle, to protect her.

Snarling a bit, he slithered closer to the two girls. Waxevius looked about ready to turn the two of them into smoldering pits of ash, the craters on his shoulders vomitting embers. "I absolutely dispise intruders! These caves belong to ME and MY TROOP! And if you don't believe me," he growled again, looking at one of the cave walls. "then take a look."
In a bizarr show of power, the flame on his head burst into a massive fireball, before being directed toward the rest of the cave. Multiple small, dried puddles of white were littered across the stones, their composition most obviously wax. However, only a small number of these puddles were black- most were very white.
"See that?" he barked, crossing his arms. "My troops and I have marked these caverns over and over again. So if anyone's an intruder here, it's you." Grinning, he closed his eyes and began to concentrate. With a burst of his flame, a ring of fire quickly surrounded the girls, Waxevius grinning. "Now normally I'd just burn you down right now..." He faced away from them, then his eyes turned back. "but since this is your first offense, I'll let it slide. I'm in a good mood, too, so i may just let you two stick around a while. Whaddaya say? No point in adding color to the walls today, yes?"

John: Land in Another Dimension
Apparently it was just like going through the Gates...?
That seemed anticlimatic. You expected THE SCRATCH to be... more grandiose than that.
Upon regaining your equlibirum, you look around and find yourself in a DARK CAVE, barely illuminated by conveniently unknown LIGHT SOURCES. A very slight breeze plays with the tassel of your hood.
Oh... you're still God tier? Whoa, fucking sweet. Wasn't the Scratch supposed to revert that or something?
Before you can consider the multitude of ridiculous paradoxes happening around you, or even IMAGINE where you are to begin with, you hear a voice echoing on the cave walls. A rather angry voice, from the sound of it.

Paula took a defensive stance and stared down the candle. If the need arose, she'd be able to defend herself and Nepeta... Though she sensed a growing feeling of hostility in her, and it seemed rather obvious that this could get ugly quickly.
"We never meant to intrude on anyone, Mr. Candlestick," she told him cautiously. "Now, if you could just give us a moment to collect ourselves and move on, we'll leave your cave well alone." She spoke up in a tone she hoped would be picked up by Nepeta and calm her down, though something in her head told her it may be too late for that.
And in her heightened alertness, Paula sensed another presence appear in the cave not far off... One unlike any she'd experienced before...

Color to the walls. Oh... oh no...
Color... walls...
Miracles.
Nepeta's eyes shrank as a rush of horrible memories flooded back.
What is he... how could... Equius... don't hurt Equius! You monster! I'll kill you! I'll kill you for hurting my best friend!! Rip you apart and paint the walls in your horrible purple blood!!!
With a cry of fury, Nepeta leapt upon Waxevius, claws out and teeth ready. She tore her claws into him and fiercely ripped him apart, seeing no longer the odd candlething, and instead the dark subjugglator that had killed her moirail.
Nothing made sense anymore to her. Her last thought was to destroy Gamzee Makara, which she unfortunately now saw Waxevius as.

Her fierce gaze was starting waaay before Paula started talking. Wax's weird eyes gave her a puzzling look. "Well, cat? What's it gonna-"
He'd seen that expression before. Someone, no, someTHING, once became so fierce, so primal, it attacked him with everything it had. Wax almost didn't survive that day, and his flame flicked in memory of that occasion.
"oh wood CHIIIPS! NOOO-!" Instantly he was forced on the ground, teeth biting his black, disgusting wax (that couldn't possibly taste good), and claws tearing right through him, hacking, slashing, spreading bits and pieces of his dark wax all around. "Sssttoooocchhpp thiiiisssxxxxth..." he begged, her claws inside his face and warping his vision. Small bits of magma splurted away, the red flued drying upon contact with the ground. As a last show, her claws managed to fling a great chunk of his wax- still flickering wick included- away from his body, with said body no more than a lifeless husk for Nepeta to destroy.
Wax flew everywhere, some of it staining the white coated walls of the cavern they currently inhabited. Left unnoticed, the wick's wax began to move around, giving it a new eye, a small one, to watch Nepeta slay his former body. What did I do wrong...? he thought. ...trust. I trusted them. Never... again...
While Wax layed low, watching nepeta tear his squishy remains limb from limb, a large group of white candle-monsters suddenly stirred. "You guys hear that?" one asked. "That sounded like Master Waxevius!"
"WHAAT?!" simultaneusly, the whole lot of them (about 200 or so, i kinda Forgot) exited their cavern in seperate hallways, splitting up to covor more ground. One of them, the first one, had tooken a specific route.
"Aw man," he called, embers flying as he slithered at top speed down the cavern hallway. "I sure hope Master Waxevius is doing alri- Woah!"
Skidding to a hault, the candlestick monster looked right at the being his flame had bathed light upon. It... was a human wearing a set of PJs with a mark of toothpaste on it. Mouth wide open, he just stared, surprised.
Before long, this ignewax was occompanied by others. "Hey! dude, wait up!" sliding close, the first was soon accompanied by about two others, who didn't seem to notice John at first. "Hey man, what's wrong? Shouldn't we be seeing if master wax is-" catching a hint, the additional two looked in John's direction as well. "Holy wax..." they sighed in unison.

John hadn't gotten very far through the caves before he heard more voices, more than one, and higher-pitched than the one he heard before. He slowed down to a stop, and blinked as a group of smaller beings came out of the woodwork, and... stood there and stared at him. Welp.
They looked to be walking, talking candles. Weird! Were they the denizens of this planet? The Land of... Caves... and Candles?
Whatever. John shook his head in dismissal, lowered his guard, stood up straight, and threw out a small wave. "Um... hi!"

Paula was afraid it was too late to diffuse the situation. Ever since Waxevius said something about 'adding color to the walls', she could sense the pain and rage boiling up inside Nepeta until it burst.
Next thing she knew, Nepeta was on top of the black candle thing like a feral beast tearing it limb from limb. She'd seen this sort of rage be directed toward someone they associated their pain on before; Ness probably would've beaten poor old Monotoli to a pulp had Paula not intervened.
"Stop!" she yelled, throwing a psionic shield between Nepeta and Waxevius to restrain her. "Get a hold of yourself!" Paula pleaded with her. "I might not know what pain you've gone through before, but he's just not worth it!"
At this point, anyone would assume that the candle being was dead. But no... Paula still sensed his living presence... somewhere nearby...

The troll continued her thrashing, already having covered the walls in the remains of Waxevius. Of course, her rage-fueled mind saw it as violet blood, having finally completed her task of avenging her moirail. As the deed was done, and as a shield restrained her, she slowly calmed down and returned to lucidity, panting with exhaustion.
"What... what on Alternia happened?" she asked, looking around. She was once again in a cave. Black mess was everywhere, and some kind of shield held her back. "Sollicks? Is that you?"
She looked for its owner and found instead a little human girl, the same one she'd seen before. "Oh... it's you! What did I miss?"
Nepeta looked down at her claws, which had been covered in wax. "... what happened??"

The small, bubble of a candle began to wiggle, before a squeaky voice suddenly said-
"YOU TURNED ME INTO A FREAKING TODDLER'S BABY FOOD MESS, YOU NUTJOB!"
Squirming, the miniature candle soon began to grow and reshape- two massive arms, check. a five foot long candle stick body, check. Warped black eyes with red fireballs for pupils, check. Fire craters-
"...Well that's embarrassing..." Wax sighed. "Hold on a sec." Holding his breath and somewhat beginning to struggle, bubbles began to form around his (non-existant) shoulders, until two huge spurts of flame came out, shaping up.
-check. Black body, lit wick, horrible dribbling face... Yep, he was himself again. First reaction to this girl's pressence- LIGHT HER ON FIRE UNTIL SHE'S CAT LITTER. ...but that would probably result in him almost dieing again. Slapping his face, he finally said "Ugh... This is too much of a migrane to keep being mad. Look kid, long story short, you flipped out, then turned my old body into that mess in your hands... and on the walls." he stated, forming a hand to thumb point his point.
"Worse than that, I almost want to drop the nice act and be a freaking villain, like I'm supposed to be. Considering you turned me into a freaking work of modern art!!!" Heaving, he relaxed again, sighing. "...but now... I'd rather be civil. Friends."
The truth of the matter was that he finally met his match- he almost freaking died back there, so... forget about never being trusting again, it was probably his own fault anyway, since he's a bad-guy of sorts. Actually, he didn't care what his side was now, he was too flipping bored to. Therefore, making friends was the best plan right now.
Meanwhile...
"Whoa, he moved!" one of them gasped. "He's a real-live human! He's so awesome looking i wanna scream!"
"Nice meeting ya," another bowed, before walking off to where he was trying to go... until he realized one of his buds was missing. "Oh what is it now, mister call him Waxeviablahblah?"
"Master Waxevius gave us a rule..." he spoke, eyes a pair of angry half circles. "No... Intruders... in the caves."
His buds looked eachother in the eye a moment...
...holy spit promotion.
"YEAH! BURN HIS LAME LOOKING FACE, AND HIS TOOTHPASTE PAJAMAS, TOO!!!" In a pitiful attempt at attacking, the three of them tried to strike him with tiny balls of fire. their wicks seemed to get smaller and smaller, with them eventually stopping to catch their breath. "Can't... breath... flame... too smaalll..."
