When Abel had dismissed him, Seth hadn't given him the chance to change his mind. While the employees of the hotel had long since learned that anything involving the Court was reason to become busy doing anything else, the way Seth dashed out of the lobby was enough to at least raise heads. And not all of them towards the door in fear of what was on his heels, either.
Seth hadn't stopped until he was a block from the hotel. He'd then proceeded to more or less collapse onto a bench and breath heavily as he caught his breath. After a moment he lifted his head and gave a stressed chuckle, tilting it back until he was leaning against the back of the bench, staring at the stars still in the sky. It was early morning, he wasn't sure what time, but it was winter and so there would probably be hours before daylight.
He threw his weight forward, his hands hanging down from his lap. He shook his head, "It worked. I can't believe it worked. He actually fell for it, all of it."
Seth froze like a mouse who'd heard a predator and looked around rapidly. He bit his lip and shook his head again, all the tension returned, "I don't know yet. I've gotta get back to him before I'm safe."
He stood up and glanced around again. It really seemed like he thought someone was following him, although he never once gave an indication he knew for sure he really was. He then broke off into a trot, heading towards the church. It'd take a few hours. He wasn't safe yet...

The angel had followed Seth silently and invisibly since the man left the hotel. The Messiah was allowing himself to be tricked so easily. Could neither Abels see that Seth was playing them for his own purposes? The angel had no intentions of informing Abel of this fact, though. A slip like this would be just what YHVH would need for proof that their Messiah was a mistake.
The angel swung its broken wrist back and forth again. He'd also rather avoid Abel's direct wrath. Sometimes being unable to use healing spells could be rather inconvenient.
The angel saw Seth stand up and start moving toward the church, and began flying after the man again. He was sure Seth knew something was following him, but he didn't think Seth was aware of him. This was to his benefit.

Seth's pace had been brisk the entire way. It had taken him a few hours to get back to the Church, as it had taken him to return from it. He was a little sore despite being in shape as a result once he came to a slow walk outside the church. He kept moving forward as he tilted his head up and looked towards the top, towards where a bell had been once upon a time. Now it just looked decrepit. He openly shuddered. This was where he'd first arrived on the Island, back when things were.... simple. He shook his head at himself and trotted up the stairs.
He looked behind himself and towards the bushes and trees, as if he was convinced someone was there. And then he allowed himself to loosen up just a tad, relief evident in his body. He turned back towards the door and reached out to grab the handle, but frowned. He pulled it back.
"Would He... really after all this time?" He shook his head and settled on knocking. He doubted anyone else would knock. The Messiah would know who it was, right?

The sun had begun to peek over the horizon by the time Seth arrived at the church. Abel had entered a state of meditation after Seth left. It was the closest to actual sleep he could enter. He would appear to be asleep to anyone who encountered him lying on the pews, too. It was only the way he jolted up just a little too quickly that betrayed the fact he was still technically awake.
He walked to the door and pushed it open, seeing exactly who he expected to see. No one else would knock, after all.
"You came back."

Seth took several quick steps backwards, appearing to almost trip over his foot in a manner that made it seem as if the man had never seen stairs, as the door pushed open. He looked up after stabilizing himself and his face almost lit up. He sprung forward and grabbed Abel's hand in his own. One would almost thing he's won the lottery, but there was a heaviness of what seemed to be accumulated years in his eyes and the ever present tight muscles as if he expected to be struck despite the actions he was taking.
"He believed me! He really believed I'm just here to spy on you!"
It was kind of a risky move, when you considered it. Seth knew he was as like or not to get attacked for the action, or at least batted away. And this Abel controlled his strength no better than the other, not with how he'd broken his wrist earlier... he only hoped it would catch this Abel by enough of a surprise to prevent too much injury.

((OOC: I spent too much time dicking around on Tumblr so it's just an Eden post tonight, sorry))
Abel suddenly found his hand being grasped by Seth and violently pulled it back. The motion would be too fast to allow Seth to release his hand, and it was likely it would injure a few of the man's fingers. The demon flinched and realized what he'd done, particularly as he realized just what the look that had been on Seth's face before he'd tried to pull his hands free.
"I-I'm sorry--"
The look on Abel's face was an almost human look of regret. It quickly passed and he held his hands out. They glowed with a white aura that suggested a dia spell. He grasped Seth's hands and let the healing spell flow through them.
"I'm glad you returned," Abel said, his voice monotone once more. "I'm surprised you were able to convince my counterpart, though... I'm not that gullible..." He shook his head, as if to convince himself that the King of Bel was not him.

(OOC: I swear it's not that big of a deal despite what I seem to make it in IM. XD)
Seth barely had time to widen his eyes as Abel tore his hand out of the younger man's grasp, breaking one of his fingers in the process, Seth found himself noting something. This Abel was faster. Noticably so, given that at the end of the day despite his abilities he was still human. It was to his benefit the sudden realization only served to further his illusion of shock as he jerked his hands down, his teeth clenched and a sharp hiss punctuating the pain.
He wouldn't have really had time to pull back had Abel been human when he reached forward to grab the injured hands and the bone set itself in place as the muscles repaired themselves via Abel's spell. He grimaced at Abel's firm grip, not just from the pain but the naturally iron nature of it. He loked up towards Abel as his voice returned to "normal". Abel still had a grasp on his hands. Seth looked puzzled for a moment, and not at Abel's words. Was this Abel... worried he'd leave? He grimaced at the emotions that surfaced up.
"I... he doesn't think I'm stupid enough to defect," Seth finally stated. He seemed to consider for a moment, and put forth a solution to Abel's obvious doubt, "Maybe it's arrogance? F-from him I mean! Not... I mean that... that is..."
Seth pulled back his lips in a grimace and jerked his head to the side, wincing. It would seem he expecting Abel to take the comment as a stab against him. He'd claimed that the scars were inflicted by the King of Bel, after all - if that didn't indicate anger management issues, nothing did.

Abel released Seth's hands after his healing spell patched them together. This wasn't like him. He was usually more careful than this. Was Seth throwing off his control? He placed his hands behind his back so that he wouldn't be so tempted to repeat the motion.
He grimaced slightly at Seth's own grimace. The man seemed to be trying to find a way to not offend him. Even with the implications, he didn't want to alienate Seth, either.
"It's alright, I understand," Abel said. "If he's become arrogant, that's better for you, anyways. It means I can protect you easier."

Seth blinked and looked back at Abel with stunned surprise as the older man told him it was alright. He was looking Abel in the eyes for a moment before he seemed to catch himself and jerk his own eyes down. He stood there in silence for a few minutes before lifting his head, still avoiding eye contact. It would seem a little exaggerated.
"You're not..." Seth stopped and shook his head, "Can I come in? I..." Seth realized his hands were still up and lowered them, wiping them on his sides, "I've been here before. I just don't think... I'd be welcome now."
He sounded ashamed with the last part, and his smile was blatently forced.

Despite his words, Seth still seemed nervous. Abel tilted his head slightly to the side before smiling, his smile appearing much more genuine than Seth's. He moved to the side so Seth could enter the church.
"Everyone is welcome back to the House of God." He beckoned to the door, motioning for Seth to enter.

Seth's grimace attempted to become a smile. It was only partially effective. It was still clear there was more going on behind his eyes than the emotion he was putting forward. He looked up a bit, past Abel and into the church. It looked like he expected something to jump out and bite him in the run down pews. He looked behind him for a moment, his quick scan of the area passing over where the Power was hiding, and looked back forward.
He stepped into the church, wincing as his foot hit the wooden floor, and blinked, looking around, once inside. He looked back at Abel, "...thank you."

Abel gave Seth what was clearly meant to be a supportive smile. The demon's inability to truly emote meant that it looked as forced as it was. He waited for Seth to walk into the church before following after. He rather slowly closed the door, making sure to stand at an angle so that Seth could see he hadn't locked the door when he closed it.
"You're very welcome," Abel said. He tilted his head slightly at Seth. "You look tired. You should sleep."

Seth had turned back towards the door, so Abel's caution would seem merited. He blinked as Abel spoke his words and looked to the side. He still seemed nervous in this location. Instead of immediately responding, he found himself turning towards the doors that lead into the garden. He stuck his hands in his pockets and frowned, his back to Abel. He knew all the reasons why he had to surrender the COMP, but he still felt uncomfortable without it. The lack of Harmonizer unsettled him, he wasn't denying that to himself.
To Abel's comment, he shook his head and gave one line, his eyes not wandering from their focus on that door. It was something like bitter nostalgia. His voice seemed a little less shaky though, although it caught itself mid-sentence and returned to the levels he'd had the rest of the tie, "I don't think I could... if I wanted to..."
He shifted his weight. He really didn't like not having that COMP on him. His right hand bundled up fabric from the inside of his pocket, the one where he usually kept the device.

Abel watched Seth's reactions. He raised an eyebrow at the way Seth turned toward the garden doors. His brother had said he'd been here before, but the way he kept focusing on those doors implied a greater involvement. He slowly walked over to Seth, though he stopped a good distance away from him.
"Then do you want to walk with me?" Abel asked. As Abel got closer to Seth, it would be easy for the man to notice the distinct lack of exhaustion in Abel's features. It was unlikely that he'd slept, since this meeting with Seth, his last one, and the shrine visit had only been a few hours apart.
He looked toward the garden doors. "They have a beautiful garden here, though it's not as well kept as I wish it could be."

Seth turned with a analyzing expression towards Abel's offer, as if trying to figure out the hidden meaning. His lip tightened for a moment at it and he gave a weak smile. It didn't touch his eyes, but still managed to be more sincere than Abel's own attempts at emotions. He looked down at his right hand and pulled it out of his pocket, rubbing it on his shirt and nodding.
"That might be nice...," Seth said. He didn't move though, instead looking around as if he thought something was hiding behind every pew, "Ah... I'm sorry..."
"I returned my Comp to A... His... Ah, the King of Bel as part of the deception," he gave a hestitant grimace towards Abel, although he was looking at his chest not his face, "I'm not used to not having the Harmonizer."
