The first thing Abel noted was how Seth was shivering. He hadn't noticed the cold himself, but with the broken windows of the greenhouse perhaps he should have expected that. He attempted to mimic the action, perhaps in an attempt to relate with Seth, but something about the way he rubbed his arms would feel false. He wanted Seth to feel safer around him, and the kind of self-conscious and deferential feel he was getting from him told him this would be a long road.
In truth, it was odd how someone as meek as Seth appeared to be had managed to survive this long, especially in the demon realm. He chose to blame it on the other Abel. Abel had likely "claimed" Seth for himself with his twisted protection. How sickening.
"You can't stay in the cold," Abel said. The lack of emotion in his voice meant that it sounded more like an order than the admonishment Abel had intended. "You'll freeze. It's warm inside the church."

(OOC: Angels: *facepalm*)
Seth had been trying to come up with an objection when Abel gave his order that was meant to be a mere admonishment. Seth tensed up at the words, and stayed that way for a few seconds. He didn't question or even seem to notice Abel rub his arms, but he gave a slight nod. It was a little hard to make out given the way Seth's eyes were now glued to the ground, though. There was definite wolfpack dynamics going on, and Seth clearly "knew his place" at the bottom of the pecking order.
"O-Of course... I... Wherever you think is best," Seth seemed to try and stop his shivering by sheer willpower, and was actually quite if not completely successful, "I mean, I don't... know church layouts very well..."

Seth relented rather easily at Abel's admonishment, and at the moment, he wasn't comprehending enough to realize the reason why. The demon began to walk toward the church once more, expecting Seth to follow after. As he passed by the angel statue once more, he afforded a glance at the flashing message light, but didn't pick it up. He would take care of his charge first.
He walked back into the main room of the church, and motioned to the doors behind the altar. "Somewhere back there are some quarters. You can stay in there."
He looked toward the pews. "I'll remain out here for the remainder of the night."

Seth did follow after, fast enough to not be accused of dawdling but slow enough to give Abel his space. As Abel went through the door into the building, he allowed himself a pause to stop and look over his shoulder at the window Abel had indicated the angel to be outside before. He frowned as if scared of something and quickly jerked his head back, walking at a normal pace by the time Abel would see him again.
He nodded in response to Abel's gesture and stood there for a few moments after Abel finished speaking. He seemed to be considering something but shifted from it and gave a shallow nod. The way he walked over to the back doors was guarded, and he never fully exposed his back to Abel even after he'd closed the door into the deeper part of the church. He let out a large sigh of relief once he as back there and turned fully around, walking forward and looking at the walls. Every once in a while he'd jerk his head behind him as if he expected someone to jump out.
He didn't get the impression he was currently being watched, but he made as if he were lost in the back of the church anyways, trying several doors before he reached the quarters. He grimaced and plugged his nose from the smells of mold and decaying wood in the room. The church was run down, he supposed he should have expected the back rooms to be no better. After a few moments he seemed to adjust to the air and walked over to a corner of the room nearest the door, letting himself drop down into it with his back protected by said corner.
He looked towards the barred window on the other side of the room. It seemed a lot like the places monks would live. He closed his eyes and told himself he wouldn't drop his guard and fall asleep... but he was out in minutes without even realizing it.
To be truthful, he did feel more protected here than he did in his Abel's presence...
