Full Name: Cooper Franklin Daniels
Nicknames: Mostly insults like tech geek or super nerd
Age: 14
Height: A little short
Weight: Somewhat over
Gender: Male
Race: Human with unknown extraterrestrial blood
Alliance: Good
Home: Unnamed town not far from Bellwood, USA
Franchise: Ben 10, plucked from Ultimate Alien time
Physical Description: Cooper is somewhat pale and overweight, though not quite as much as he was as seen in the Alien Force episode "Undercover". He has shoulder-length blond hair, blue eyes, and freckles. Cooper wears a gray t-shirt underneath a purple number 3 jersey, black shorts, purple sneakers, and a dog tag around his neck. He has below average physical strength, but his technical prowess can more than make up for that.
Weapons: His mind is his weapon and can literally be used to make any other weapon he needs.
Abilities/Powers: Cooper is a powerful technopath capable of reading, controlling, and moving machinery merely with his thoughts. Cooper can even assemble complex machines in midair "technokinetically". His powers also allow him advanced computer-level coordinating and calculating skills, and they grant him the ability to analyze a devices effects and create tools to mimic it merely by observing said effect. For example, Cooper was able to create blasters that reversed the effect of Xenocites on the Highbreeds' "DNAlien" victims merely by watching Ben do the same with the Omnitrix. Although never touched upon in the any of the series, as he'd never come across such a robot as far as we know, Cooper can read the minds of A.I. much like a telepath would an organic being.
Skills: His powers also make him a bona fide expert on all things mechanical, human or alien. He's also an excellent computer gamer.
Personality: At heart, Cooper is a thoughtful, easy-going kid who likes to be of help to others, though he has some self esteem issues. He spent most of his preadolescent life holed up in his basement lab to avoid the bullies that constantly tormented him, thus had very few friends, but his confidence and social skills have improved since helping stop the Highbreed invasion. He's generally easy to take advantage of, but he'll just leave you hanging if you push him too far. Push him farther than even that, then you'd better SERIOUSLY Beware The Nice One, 'cause the full extent of what a talented technopath can do to you is not pretty. However, it takes a lot to make Cooper defend himself, but he'll do anything to keep his friends safe.
History: Cooper's grandfather was an old Plumber and a friend of Max Tennyson. It was though him that Cooper got his powers, though it was never exactly specified how. Mr. and Mrs. Daniels were always busy with their careers, so Cooper was always watched over by his Plumber grandpa who often praised him for his growing talent and pushed him to develop it further without stressing him out. As such, grandpa and grandson were very close. However, outside of his family, Cooper was very shy and his excellent grades and lack of assertiveness made him a huge bully target. Since early on in his school career, he's been skipped ahead a few years, though this hasn't exactly improved his friend potential to say the least.
When Cooper was eight, he attended summer camp... in all honesty, he'd rather not talk about it. On the last day of camp, Cooper's called in sick with the flu, but he was lucky enough to make contact with his old buddy Max while he was passing through the area on his camping trip with his grandkids. Cooper heard a lot of Max's grandkids, Ben and Gwen, and their adventures involving current alien activity. Gwen had magical abilities like those of an Anodite, and she'd been practicing them with a spell book she'd swiped from an evil teenage witch. And Ben... he had the fabled Omnitrix, a highly advanced piece of wrist-mounted technology that could transform its user into any sentient species in the Milky Way galaxy. They were awesome heroes for their age, and Cooper was... just Cooper. There was no chance anyone like them would be interested in a nobody like him.
But the instant Cooper set foot on the Tennyson motor home, the Rustbucket, a golden opportunity arose from one of the two cousins' numerous arguments: after their constant bickering blotched their attempts to win a radio contest for VIP tickets the premiere of Space Pirates IV, Cooper lied by claiming he had an uncle in the film's production team and had two VIP tickets of his own. Hearing this claim, Ben and Gwen immediately began fighting for Cooper's affections in hopes of getting the extra ticket; Cooper had them eating out of the palms of his hands (figure of speech), and after so many years of being pushed around, he was loving it. But it was only a matter of time before traveling with the Tennysons thrusted him into one of their frequent adventures. And this was the big one.
After a group of circus freaks broke into the Fort Knox gold reserve without taking any gold (they took something from a Plumber's base instead), they got word of another break in at a Seattle base. By the time they'd already ended up in a fight with a punk-girl mercenary, the witch who owned Gwen's spell book, an insect-controlling mutant, and a bioengineering mad scientist, Max finally realized what they were after: they keys to a max-security vault in the Mount Rushmore Plumber's base that contained a small piece of power fuel with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns--Sub Energy. The villain team was lead by Driscoll, a former Plumber and current leader of a Forever Knight splinter faction, and together the team called themselves the Negative Ten.
The fight against them took a turn for the worst when hypnotist Sublimino managed to impose his will on Cooper. He managed to fight it long enough to help the Tennysons find the base and fortify it against the N.T., but by the time they'd locked themselves in with the Sub Energy, Sublimino's power over Cooper had finally kicked in and the brainwashed prodigy nearly killed Ben before Gwen as able to subdue him. By the time he awoke again, the Negative Ten had been defeated, the Forever King had been blasted out of his armor, and the Sub Energy was destroyed by Ben's alien form Upchuck. Once Cooper was finally home, he admitted the truth about the alleged tickets to Ben and Gwen. Cooper expected them to never want to speak to him again for his deception, but to his surprise they remained on friendly terms with him in subsequent adventures. Cooper's personal respect for them grew after that, along with a particular crush on Gwen.
Nonetheless, they hadn't seen each other again for five years. In that time, the technopath spend most of his time cooped up in his basement laboratory to avoid being pushed around. In that time, he made loose acquaintances with the teen alien tech dealer Kevin Levin, who would later run into his old enemy Ben and join him to fight a race called the Highbreed. Cooper himself ended up in this battle when the Highbreeds' mooks--human/alien hybrids called the DNAliens--broke into Cooper's lab and kidnapped him. While the DNAliens forced Cooper to build various machines for them, including a large cloaking device, Ben, Gwen, and Kevin entered his abandoned lab looking for him and found the S.O.S. he managed to record before being taken away. The rescue mission went sour at first, and Cooper was forced to go back to work when his friends' lives were threatened, but he was eventually managed to destroy the cloaking device and escape with them.
Cooper then went back to his regular life. Then a few months later, Gwen went to Cooper to recruit him in a mission to finally defeat the Highbreed. Despite knowing the risks, Cooper went along on the mission. Before going to the base the Highbreed were building their hyperspace jumpgate for the armada, Cooper was tasked with releasing the rogue Plumber's kid Darkstar from the Null Void despite his justified misgivings of him. Cooper entered the battle with a large, advanced armor. He observed Ben as he began using the Omnitrix to cleanse all the DNAliens of all their corrupt DNA, as unwittingly inspired by one of Darkstar's sarcastic quips, but he was forced to stop as the process drained too much of the Omnitrix. Ergo, Cooper was able to produce a series of ray guns with the exact same effect from parts scrapped from his armor. After Ben and close friends managed to travel to the Highbreed leaders and stop the invasion, Cooper joined a group of other Plumber's kids (with the exception of Darkstar who ran off) to train under Max.
A mere few weeks after the end of the Highbreed threat, the baddest of bad, Vilgax, finally returned to challenge Ben again. Max's newly acquired apprentices took first strike against Vilgax, but the inexperienced pre-Plumbers were quickly taken down. Vilgax was eventually defeated by Ben. Cooper continued to train with the other Plumber's kids until one day when he was strangely pulled off to help elsewhere. This turned out to be around the same time Max and Ben were setting the others' up for a test of sorts that would initiate them into the Plumber's Academy. Cooper hadn't been left to take part as his powers would've let him easily see through the deception, and he took his surprise test elsewhere. The exact details surrounding that test, however, aren't available to us at the time.
At some point, Vilgax returned having teamed up with Albedo, an old corrupt assistant of Omnitrix creator Azmuth. Both worked together to defeat their common foe on the basis that Albedo got the Omnitrix to revert his damaged DNA back to his Galvan form and Vilgax got to destroy Ben in revenge for his humiliating defeats. In the end, they won thanks to Albedo's newly acquired Ultimatrix, but Vilgax turned on Albedo, capturing him with his Omnitrix-powered army. Ben was able to defeat Vilgax before he began invading Earth again by making the Omnitrix self destruct and threatened to do the same to Albedo's Ultimatrix if he didn't hand it over. In the end, Ben defeated Vilgax and he and his family made it out alive. One week later, a fan boy with a string theory board exposed Ben's secret to the world hoping to help. To be honest, it did more harm than anything, but Ben seems to be enjoying it despite the news anchor snob trying to make him look bad purely for ratings.
What's that have to do with Cooper? Not much, really, but it sets a tone for where we pick him up next. As Ben continued balancing his celebrity status with his personal life and with Plumber duties (including something to do with a guy named Aggregor), Cooper continued training as a Plumber as well as working on personal science projects. While he was finishing up a little science project he'd been going at for a few years now--a device that could locate and travel to other parallel universes--the machine overloaded and Spat Cooper out into Industrial Park of Dimensional Island...
