Name: Ray Stanz
Nicknames: Heart of the Ghostbusters, Francine (Supposedly Ray's middle name, but it is normally an insult used by his friend, Peter Venkman. Though considering it being an insult could give some grounds to it being a middle name)
Franchise: Ghostbusters
Age: 58 (due to exposure to massive amounts of PKE energy, he looks no older than 33)
Race: Human
Occupation: Ghostbuster
Apperance: Yothful for his age, even when he was 33. A tad husky but he's very fit and fairly strong. Has reddish-bown hair and when on the job wears a tan flightsuit with a no-ghost symbol etched on.
Personality: Jolly, somewhat naive and eccentric, and essentially a big kid at heart.
Background: As a child Ray Stantz had a huge intrest in the paranormal. His curiosity ended up with him doing research on real-life hauntings, which then became a bit of an obsession. When he got into college he studied mechanics and physics. After he and his collegues Egon and Peter were fired, they started Ghostbusters. There, Ray put his knowledge he accumulated as a kid to good use and became the team's expert on the occult. His cheerful outlook on life and his attitude gave him the nickname "Heart of the Ghostbusters".
Friends and Family: Egon Spengler, Peter Venkman, Winston Zeddemore (all three fellow ghostbusters), Janine Melnitz (Secretary and occasional ghostbuster), Slimer (is like a pet to him)
Abilities: Has no special, flashy magical abilities like most folks on the island, but he can contend with them easily enough. He's pretty smart (though not as much as Egon) and has a lot of mechanical know-how.
Weapons: When fighting ghosts he uses the Proton Pack to ensnare ghosts in a stream of positively-charged ions before throwing out a shoebox-sized trap to put the ghost in an ectoplasmic prison at their headquarters. Here's the readout of the Proton Pack.
Blast Stream: The main weapon of the Proton Pack has been called a number of things over the years. Partical Beam, laser, and a fake electronic lightshow to name a few. The Blast Stream looses a beam of protons at the target from the thrower (officially known as the Neutrona Wand). The beam's fluctuations end up causing inadvertant property damage. The Ghostbusters have managed to negotiate with insurance companies to grant people repairs to damages caused by their services so the matter of the damages has no longer become an issue.
Boson Dart: Fires a burst of boson particals from the Neutrona wand's tip, which offers a great secondary weapon and does quite a bit of damage to ectoplasmic entities. Repeated usage overheats the pack quickly however, so use sparingly for best effective use. Word of caution; accidental blockage of the Neutrona Wand could vaporize anything within a three-square mile radius.
Shock Blast: Fires many particals of dark matter that diffuse quickly in the atmosphere, so no harm comes to anyone or anything save the target of the weapon itself. It's very powerful in close range combat but gets weaker the farther you are away. As such it's best used on inbound swarms such as objects bing levitated via poltergeist activity from books, pots, pans, among other otherwise harmless objects.
Stasis Stream: Fires a beam of particals that hypobond to a ghost, and forces it to stay in place for a short period of time. Though not a freeze ray, it's effect is similar and can be of great use if used properly.
Meson Collider: Fires small, rapid-fire bursts of meson particals at the target. When the trigger's held down the bursts come out quicker until it enters overload pulse mode. HEre the action is like a machine gun as the bursts come out really fast. In this state the particals will home in on a target. Perfect for scouting weaknesses.
Slime Blower MK2: Part of the PDS, or Plasm Distrabution System. The original slime blowers were large and cumbersome and as such Egon had heavily modified them to be smaller, but no less efficiant in their task. The slimeblower shoots a stream of green ectoplasm of the same basic makeup as the psychomagnatheric ectoplasm seen in Ghostbusters 2 (Dubbed Mood Slime by Peter Venkman). The slime can be used to purify tainted objects, wash away negatively-charged black ectoplasm (has been dubbed egaplasm by some new members of the Ghostbusters family lead by Nutcase and Gantz), and can be used to free people under the grip of possession.
Slime Mine: A Slime Mine is a orb of green slime fired from the slimeblower which sticks to a target then explodes after a set period of time. The explosion coupled with the ectoplasm's release does great damage to the entity it struck and the slime covers a wide area due to the explosion which can hit other monsters in the area. Can also be used to clean massive amounts of Negaplasm.
Slime Teather: Essentially a rope made of hardened ectoplasm. The Slime teather can bind ghosts in one spot or they can be used to manipulate the enviornment. The teather wont last long, however.
