Personality: She is a strong, sweet, and driven girl who will define anyone she cares about. She can be a little rash and a little shy about Wonrei. She understands that Wonrei and herself will be separated and she allows it to fuel her fighting flames.
History: Li-en, wanted a boyfriend more than anything, and took to overeating when her father, a Mafia boss named Li-Akron, would not let her see anyone, met Wonrei in a restaurant and was immediately smitten with him. Throughout the series, they have a more romantic relationship with each other than the other Mamodo pairs. Wonrei's martial arts training allowed him to gain a large amount of spells without fighting many Mamodo. When Li-Akron found out about the relationship, he imprisoned Wonrei and the book in his hideout, believing him to be a demon. Zatch and Kiyo help reunite Wonrei and Li-en, and the two return the favor by assisting in the Millennium Arc, even disposing of Demolt and Tsao-Lon, two of the most powerful Ancient Mamodo.In the next arc,the Faudo Arc, they were forced into the Faudo cult by Riou, who placed a curse on Li-en that will kill her in four days if Wonrei does not help release Faudo. He contributed his most powerful spell, Goraiō Dibauren, to the effort to unlock the tower. After the curse was lifted, he rejoined Zatch's group, but sacrificed his book defending the comatose Kiyo and Li-en from Unko Tin Tin but Wonrei disappeared and reappeared on dimensional isle soon after the curse was broken,so his book isn't burned.
The mamodo battle can be summed up with this statement mamodos (“monster”) from "makai" ("demon world"), 100 have been sent to the human world to fight out a battle for who will be the next king of "makai". All the monster children have their own books, which will enable them to use magic when they find the right humans to read them.
