Derpy is a grey pegasus with a straight blonde mane, and golden eyes (perpetually crossed in different directions; one eye looks at what she intends to look at, the other does not cooperate and looks a different direction). Her cutie mark is a cluster of bubbles.

Derpy has no weapons.
Abilities/Powers
Derpy has no special abilities for her kind.
Skills
She is able to fly, as all pegasus ponies are. Despite her handicap, she is an extremely efficient mailmare (she works very hard at her job).
Personality
Derpy is a silly but friendly pegasus pony. From birth, she has been mentally challenged, causing her to have failures in understanding cause and effect, as well as lack of a sense of direction and dexterity. She loves her family very very much, and cherishes her daughter, Dinky. She also has a love of muffins.
History
Derpy was born to a retired mailpony and his wife. Her mother sadly was gone from them before she was very old, so her father raised her almost entirely by himself. She was born mentally challenged, which her father took great care to consider while raising her. Initially, she had difficulty getting her message across, but with careful practice and habilitation, Derpy managed to loosely grasp sentence structure.
Prone to lack of dexterity and direction, Derpy had a habit of getting lost, which worried her father greatly. Despite her penchant for getting lost, she always seemed to find her way home, though.
She adored colors, especially yellow, and when her father showed her one day what bubbles were, Derpy admired them. They could float (which she had trouble doing) and they had rainbows! On that day she gained her cutie mark.
Her father often told her of the sights he'd seen in his travels as a mailpony, and Derpy listened with great interest. She decided she wanted to do what her dad did, follow in his hoofsteps. When she was old enough she was going to go to the Pony Express and apply to be the new mailmare.
When she was in her late adolescence, she had a filly, Dinky. Dinky was a unicorn, and her father, like Derpy's mother, left the relationship before Dinky knew him. Suffering abandonment issues, Derpy made a vow to raise Dinky as best she could, and work as hard as possible to support her and prove she can be a good parent, no matter what everypony thinks. She loves her daughter above all else, and wants to prove she can be a good mommy.
Most of her peers (save for a few close friends) tease her about her disability, which motivates her to work harder. Out of devotion to her daughter, Derpy worked hard to become the best mailmare Ponyville had seen for a long time. She always found the right destination at the right time, and never once was late or took a day off. She was always home in time to greet Dinky when she got home from school, and shared her love of muffins with her little muffin, the best one of all.
