"Hey! You get back here you meat theif!" a voice shouted as some sort of cat girl ran out of the portal, thinking that she was pursuing someone who, as she stated, stole some meat from her. What she didn't know was that she was chasing nobody. If it were a bird, the bird must've flown away before she entered the portal, leadeing her here. After about 20 feet after exiting the portal, the girl panted and stopped her running.
"Meow... I let the meat theif get away meow... And Tao is still hungry..." Taokaka complained. She didn't care that she just entered a new world. All she wanted was a decent meal before she can even know that she had just entered a new world.
"Someone... anyone... show me where Tao can get some food meow." Taokaka groaned.

"...Who are you supposed to be?" If Tao looked in the direction that voice came from, she would've seen an Asian-looking 8-year-old boy with a sword strapped to his back staring oddly at her.

Tao heard the voice somewhere.
"Huh? Mysterious person? Who am I? I'm hungry!!! Oh, and Tao is Taokaka!" Tao said , not bothering to look for the boy, as she looked up into the sky, thinking the voice came from there. "Is it you meat theif, meow? You came to say sorry?"

Kang looked at her funny. "Huh? No... I didn't even see anyone running off with any meat. I'm... Hey! I'm over here!" he yelled as soon as he realized Tao wasn't even looking at him. If she did look his way at that point, he would've continued somewhat boastingly, "I'm Kang, crown prince of Dalaam."

"Where?" Taokaka asked. Tao wasn't the smartest one on the block... okay, she's very stupid. She turned around to see Kang (who she didn't know the name just yet), and wondered. She did see Kang, but all she said was, "Where'd you go? I see a small guy right there... which is the same place I heard the voice. Hey small guy? Have you seen some sort of magical voice who said the meat theif got away?"
