(OOC: Me and FF)
It had been a little over two weeks since she'd given the King of Bel that limiter. She hadn't bothered to keep track of him since then, instead having her hands full with Kerro and trying to get her shop to respond. Her past life's shop, which was supposed to be tied to her magic. She hadn't run into Eriol or Pallette again, and she wasn't sure she should... she had enough trouble seperating her memories.
She and Kerro had managed well enough in the time that had passed. She'd been terrified during the final night of the Fall, but it looked like the group had pulled through. Her extremely limited (in comparison) magic had allowed them to get by, but she wondered if she shouldn't just go back home... at least until she'd found the portal wouldn't respond. So she was stuck here again, all thanks to the way her powers had dropped.
Her name was Xiu Zhou, fifteen years old, Chinese, and reincarnated from a powerful sorceress... with her power at a fraction of what it once was.
"God damn it quit running away from me!" she threw her hands to her side and gave a rather child like stomp on the ground. She was staring an empty lot in the face. Probably worried Kerro, really, "Stupid memories, what good are you if they can't even help me summon the stupid shop!"
She had been trying for two weeks, after all.

Kerro had not done much in the two weeks since their arrival on the island. For the most part, his job was a delivery boy; magic couldn't make food, so he had to buy it himself. He stood and watched while Xiu attempted to summon the shop during all of these attempts, and he felt something like regret at the fact that he couldn't help. He was only a doll; he couldn't use magic on his own.
"Miss Xiu, perhaps we should give up for today," Kerro said quietly. She was worrying him a bit with how frustrated she was getting about this. It was understandable, though he wasn't quite sure why she was trying to summon a shop.

Xiu shot Kerro an annoyed look, but realized immediately (quite possibly due to his expression) that it wasn't a good idea. She frowned and threw herself onto a large tire at the side of the lot, crossing her arms. The memories and power were never there when she needed them, were there. She looked at Kerro again and gave an apologetic smile.
"I can't just give up, because we haven't had a place to stay. It's been snowing, and you're going to develop wood rot at this rate," she said, "And haven't I told you about a bajillion times to stop calling me Miss?"

Kerro gave a deep bow at Xiu's words, somehow hearing them and totally missing the meaning at the same time.
"I'm truely sorry, but it just wouldn't be right to refer to you any other way, Miss-- ...Xiu," Kerro said. He straightened up again and gave a smile. "But don't worry about me! Even if my wood rots, my insides are metal. My outsides can be replaced!" He gave a bit of a forced chuckle at that, though any laugh from him tended to sound forced anyways.
Any attention on the current conversation was diverted at the sound of someone coming down the alleyway, though. It sounded almost like someone was dragging something through the slush. And then that person came into view. It was a blond haired wooden doll carrying a case. For once, he appeared to be in somewhat good shape.
The doll stopped in his tracks as he saw the two of them. Or rather, Kerro. He didn't seem to recognize Xiu.
"...Big... brother?" Eriol asked. Kerro blinked. This doll appeared to be of a similar construct to him, but he couldn't pull up any memories of him.
"...Who are you?" Kerro asked.

Xiu gave him an annoyed look. They were closer to siblings then any other comparison. Hell, she might have dealt with a comparison to parenthood, although she would have probably flipped over being called that old. At least unless her other memories were prominent. She was lifting a palm to her forehead when she heard the dragging sound. Sounds of which the source were had proven themselves dangerous in this world, so she was at ready. At least until Eriol came into view, at which current life reactions threw caution out the window.
"Eriol!"

Now Kerro looked more confused. He did not recognize this strange doll, but his mistress did. The blond haired doll, whose name was apparently Eriol, looked just as confused. He was staring at Xiu with one cloudy glass eye.
"How do you know my name?" Eriol asked. "And why do you have big brother with you?"
"...I don't believe I'm your brother," Kerro said. He sounded a little unsure, though.

It was clear Xiu realized she had made a sort of mistake when Eriol asked how she knew his name. Well there went any control of the situation. She looked at Kerro, the reasons she repaired him crossing her mind. Right, she hadn't come back here for the King of Bel, she'd come here for other reasons. She looked back at Eriol and lifted her hands.
"Ah, there's totally a perfectly good explanation for this!" Xiu said. She had no idea how the hell she was supposed to follow that up...

Of course, Xiu's lack of a real response only made Eriol more suspicious. He assumed a more defensive stance.
"What is that supposed to mean?!" Eriol yelled. He didn't trust this girl. She had his brother, the same brother he hadn't seen since Himitsu had agreed to fix him. And yet Kerro didn't even recognize him.
Kerro narrowed his eyes. This "Eriol" seemed unbalanced. Something about him seemed familiar, but Kerro was also feeling rather uneasy just being around him. He took a defensive stance in front of Xiu.

Xiu blanched a bit as Eriol yelled back at her. Yeah, this was going super! She looked like she'd swallowed her tongue trying to come up with a response when Kerro stepped in front of her. Well, crap. She ran out from behind him and put herself between the two dolls.
"Everyone just calm down, okay?!" She didn't need Eriol losing it. At least he didn't have his key. She looked towards Eriol. She needed to do this in a quick and irrefutable way, right? She took in a breath and grabbed the pendant around her neck, "Eriol, I'm sorry it took me so long to fix Kerro... Have you been okay since the shop vanished?"

Eriol was already taking a few steps forward when Xiu pushed herself between him and Kerro. He froze mid-step as Xiu spoke. He didn't appear to comprehend what she'd just said.
"Hi... Himi... tsu?"

Xiu gave a look towards Kerro that told him to just stay there, she could handle it. Her mannerisms had shifted away from her apparent age. At the moment she wasn't really "Xiu" nor was she really "Himitsu". A mature Xiu would be the best estimate at this point. She truned towards Eriol and gave a slight nod.
"Well, more or less. I mean... I'm not... well..." she bit her lip. Why did that kid who shared Eriol's name have this figured in his head better? Reincarnations weren't that simple! She muttered something about reality warping before shaking her head, "Yeah.. it's complicated."

Eriol didn't looked convinced. Mind you, he really didn't do well with complicated concepts. He wasn't saying anything. In fact, he didn't seem quite sure how to react to this.
"...Miss Xiu, who is this doll?" Kerro asked after a good minute of silence from Eriol. "He looks... like he could be my brother."

Xiu looked worried as Eriol kind of stood there looking aggravated. There was a surface simple explanation. She'd been reborn by actions in her past life and had fragmented memories and powers. Totally simple, right? Not in the least. She turned towards Kerro as he spoke.
"Ah..." a nervous glance at Eriol before looking back at Kerro, "You know how you used to ask me about what happened before I found you? Eriol... Eriol's your brother."
She looked at Eriol, becoming more clearly Xiu, "Everyone's okay, right? No problems here?"

Kerro only continued to look confused. So Eriol had been speaking the truth? He looked toward his brother again. Now Kerro was filled with all sorts of questions. Why had he and Eriol been separated? What had happened to Eriol to cause him to lose his eye? Had the injuries Kerro had when Xiu had first found him had something to do with that? Did they have other siblings?
"....no problems," Eriol said. He looked rather uncomfortable for a moment, and then ran up to Xiu and embraced her much like a child would. It was likely more than a bit uncomfortable, what with Eriol being made of wood and all.
"...I was so scared, Miss Himitsu..." Eriol whispered.

Xiu had tensed up as Eriol ran at her, and was about half a second from flipping him from precaution when he embraced her. She felt really bad as he gave out his near whimper whisper. She'd been supposed to die that day. She'd warded off death via various means long enough to know she'd been supposed to die. Still didn't mean she'd left two people with no where to go. She pulled Eriol off her and gave a rather big sisterly smile before looking at Kerro.
"You've got another brother, and I want him here before I get too heavy into the explanations," Xiu said.
What she didn't say was the reason had to do with their creator. Not their Father, her mind insisted. Despite what Eriol had once acted as, not their father. And there was the whole other mess, and given that Eriol still had the case... she had a feeling Fate was being an asshat somewhere and laughing his damn fool head off about it.
