"Well, that's good. Because, you know. Kinda wanted to punch Jayne in the face a few times 'fore I was deleted. But I should warn you. Figure it'll be a few weeks, maybe months, 'til Alliance arrives. Okay, if that thing got me here, it's got to be close to completion. So if you're not willing to go to war with me, tell me now, and I'll see how much I need to be panicking." Mal stated, pushing his gun back into its holster.

"Heh, you underestimate how fickle this island can be. Establishing a permanent connection isn't what one would call easy... especially if it relies on technology," Zero chuckled, "I'm a computer virus, you know? I can screw with stuff like that. As for a war, I've fought gods on equal footing. Wars don't scare me," Zero paused, "I want to meet this Jayne you keep talking about. Sounds easy to rile up. Mind telling me what this 'Alliance' is, though?"
Zero sat back down, seemingly put at ease enough to sit while Mal still stood. His entire little speech probably gave Mal several things to speak about. The biggest possibly being "fought gods on equal footing".
The bartender had become suspiciously busy as Mal mentioned a "war", though...

Was a lot to take in, was a lot to respond to. He decided to start with the hard, and progress to the easy. Now, Mal's definition of 'hard' was probably not what any SANE person's would be. But that is neither here nor there.
"Long time ago, Earth that was could no longer sustain human life. There were too many of us, she was dying. So we set out, looking for a way out. We found a new solar system, with many new Earths. The central planets formed the Alliance, attempting to unify the new system. They wanted to tell us how to think, how to feel. Few idiots tried to stop it... I was one of 'em. Needless to say, Browncoats lost, Alliance won, and it all came apart at the battle of Serenity Valley..." Mal trailed off a moment, lost in thought. Apparently they HADN'T been too pretty for God to let them die...
"Well, that's good. Longer we can keep Alliance out of our hair, better prepared we can be to give our victory speeches. Now... fought gods on equal footing, you say?" Mal began.
"Is it just me, or does the bartender seem to dislike the word 'war'?"

Zero looked up at the bartender. He'd noticed the reaction but had made no indication. He shrugged, "Probably something to do with her home dimension. That and I'm not sure this Island has ever had a war. But I certainly detect more interest in the comment about gods," Zero smirked darkly. Seemed an awfully common expression for the man.
"Most people called them Legends, but the more powerful were undeniably gods. In the polytheistic sense of the word, at least. Lead by Arceus, represented by the seveteen PokeChosen. They tried to destroy me once... had to collapse the entire universe in on itself just to seal me," Zero paused, realizing that very well might confuse a person, "Are you familiar with the Big Bang theory by any chance?"

"Theory that the 'verse was made by some cosmic explosion? I'm familiar with it, I suppose. Not a firm believer in it, but I have heard of it." Mal responded, slightly shaken. And, if for no other reason than because he had to come up with a rebuttal to Zero's 'had to kill a lot of people to SEAL me' comment...
"Had to collapse the entire 'verse in on itself, you say? Well I once got stabbed... right here." Mal gestured towards his kidney area. It was a bit higher if he remembered correctly, but still.
He got stabbed. Right THERE.

Zero saw Mal hesitate. He smirked. Better he break the human's brain now than later. Even though he seemed rattled, something told him Malcolm would get through it. Hopefully. If not, it wasn't the world's biggest thing. Although he wouldn't take kindly to the man that had caused the misfire in his data synapses suddenly snapping. He nodded as Mal continued, ignoring as the man pointed to his abdomen.
"The Legends I spoke of... with the seventeen chosen representatives of man, the PokeChosen... they decided to force the collapse to create a cosmic seal," Zero's gaze narrowed. His eyes were pointed to the back of the bar, but it was pretty clear that wasn't where he was looking, "It burst out again quick enough, but it created a seal that lasted ten billion years or so. I was aware the whole time..." Zero looked at Mal, "That void I showed you? I was trapped in a similar nothingness for about ten billion years," and then a dark smirk, "They had to collapse the entire universe to keep me sealed for more than a few years at a shot. Like I said, a simple mortal war doesn't scare me."
Zero waited for Mal's reaction. It was more than likely the human couldn't comprehend all this. He just told Mal that he had been trapped in the cosmic void for Ten. Billion. Years. The age of the universe, give or take a million years here or there. Which meant he had been alive since before the current incarnation of his universe. Zero was of course able to continue, but he wasn't sure Mal's human mind could take it.

"...huh." Mal had to take a pause here. If he continued in a rebuttal, his mind would snap. Had to give himself a moment to take it all in and such. Because what he had just been told was both shocking and... shocking.
"Basically, these so called 'Legends' decided it was okay to induce 'verse-wide genocide to seal you. Because apparently destroying the entire universe is less of an impact than you erasing it all. Sounds like these gods of that 'verse were pretty pompous." Mal finished.

Zero let out a loud laugh, and for the first time since Mal had met him looked tickled without looking psychotic. It faded down to a chuckle fairly quickly and he shook his head, "Their way allowed the universe to be reborn. Mine would have completely eliminated it. They maintaine dthe cycle of rebirth, I would have destroyed the wheel. But thank you for saying that. Arceus is rather high and mighty," Zero chuckled a bit more, "Not that I haven't been accused of that myself. Anyhow, I was unsealed thanks to a variation of the same basic thing that created me. A programming glitch. Oddly enough, the people of the present gave it the same name I was given early on. Missing Number."
Zero reached under his jacket and pulled up a bit on a chain hanging around his neck. He held up what looked like the metal backing to a large computer chip. Dead center the numbers 000 were above the word Zero. The virus indicated the numbers, "In the encycopediac database of those Pocket Monsters I told you about, I've been given three zeroes as my number."
He didn't mention that the recreated world didn't know jack about the truth behind his creation, nor that his seal had loosened thanks to a video game... or the fact that "Pocket Monsters" was nothing more than a video game in his home world before the creatures began surfacing in the real world. He let the pendant-like item go and it dropped down to the front of his jacket, "So humans killed the Earth in your world, huh? Can't say I'm surprised. Heading that way in my world too, although with the Legends resurfacing I'm sure Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza would throw a hissy fit over it all... Your world ever use the BC slash AD calendar system?"

Mal was trying to take this all in. He really was. But it was a hard concept to grasp. He was going to answer Zero's question, while recovering from his near mind snap. Luckily, he would not have much thinking to do, as one of the NPCs felt like getting the crap beaten out of him. It started with a simple question, really...
"Hey. You. You Malcolm Reynolds?" Asked a fellow walking across the bar. He seemed... inebriated.
"Who wants to know?"
"A fella that's glad the Browncoats lost, that's who." There was a pause from Mal. His hand drifted over his gun holster for a second before relaxing. No, no. He wouldn't shoot the man. Punch yes. Shoot no. In fact, he'd give him a second chance.
"I don't think I heard you. You wanna repeat that?"
"I said I'm glad the Browncoats lost. All culminated in Serenity Valley, didn't it? How many of your men made it back alive? None. Murderer. Even that one Tracey fellow's probably better off."
"...walk over here and say that to my face." Mal stated, turning to fully face the man. And walk over he did, until the two were only two inches away.
"I said you deserved to lose. And I hear you even lost that moron of a pilot, Wa-" He wasn't able to finish, however, as it's extremely hard to talk with a fist in your mouth.
But yes. Mal's punch knocked the man on his back, his head spinning.
"Anyone got something to say about that?"
The 13 males that stood were rather discomforting.

Zero looked up at the slurred speech of a drunken man. He glanced up at the person, who seemed to think the world was tilting to the side and was trying to do the same to compensate. This was why he didn't drink. Sometimes his human form fit the appearance a little too well. As the person spoke, Zero realized the man must have come from Malcom's world.
He saw Mal's hand drift over his gun, and returned his focus to the drunken person. Serenity... Valley? The corner of Zero's lip twitched. So that's why the captain had tripped over Chibi Moon's name. As the man continued to talk, Zero realized he knew too much to be from Mal's world. Probably meant that like Sailor Chibi Moon, Malcom's world was shown on the media of some worlds.
Zero saw how quickly it was headed downhill and stood up. They were going to have to leave after this. He took a step towards Malcom as he punched the guy, and saw the other men standing up. Zero smirked, "You're a real people person, aren't you?"
He had no intentions of getting in the fight. Thing was... Zero wasn't really the greatest at melee fighting. He could dodge well enough, but he wasn't the type that threw punches. And after the little display earlier, he didn't know how well his abilities would cooperate...

"Yeah. You should see me at parties. My ending act is to backhand the host and shoot his puppy." Mal responded with a light chuckle before turning to face the fellows that took it upon themselves to attempt to Curb Stomp the captain. And with Zoe and Jayne absent, and Zero resigned to not aiding in the ensuing fight... yeeeaaahhh...
Mal's right side was apparently one large blind spot. Because he did NOT see the fist coming for his right cheek. It knocked a bit of blood out of his mouth, actually. Blood which flew in Zero's direction and most likely landed on the sentient virus.
Mal forced the fellow off of him, knocking him over a table, ducking as a chair was thrown at him. He responded by tossing a nearby bottle, which hit its target dead on. And then they rushed him.
(OOC: Ending the post here if only so Zero can respond to ZOMGBLOOD)

Zero looked distastefully as the blood hit his jacket. He rubbed his fingers across the spot and looked at his fingers with disdain. Was it possible for humans to fight without making a mess of things? He looked a mixture of bored and annoyed as Mal was tackled into a wall. He looked around and saw the television. It wasn't fancy, but it would work. He reached up with his left hand and pointed the palm at the tv. It screwed up the signal a bit, like a bad cable signal, but then stopped. Zero frowned and caught movement out of the corner of his eye.
He barely managed to duck. He sidestepped and glared at the guy who had apparently decided since the pretty boy was talking to Mal he needed to be "Curb Stomped" as well. He ducked as the man broadcasted another punch. Zero could tell already, Malcom was going to be such fun to hang with. As he ducked down he happened to see what was left of the chair Malcom had given him.
Zero spun out of the way of another attack. Although he wasn't throwing punches the man seemed agile enough. He was damn good at dodging in any case. In a rather graceful motion he kicked up a bit of chair just as one of the brawlers was launching at him. He frowned and brought down the glorified wood plank on the man's head. The man crumpled less than an inch from impacting the virus with a punch. He scowled at the plank and then at the majority of the group Mal was fighting.
"Are you quite done harassing the man, yet?" He was talking to the brawlers, but it was rather unclear. He frowned as someone tried to jump him from behind and swung the piece of word nonchalantly (although still rather hard), breaking their nose and causing another crumple. He looked at a bit of blood that had gotten on his sleeve. This was turning out to be a rather wonderful day...

How it was that 13 men were being thrashed by a sentient virus and a semi-tired ship captain was a subject of musing between me and Fanty the aforementioned men. I mean, REALLY. Said captain hadn't even pulled his GUN yet. And the virus was pretty much a one-hit kill machine. Almost like Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho...
No words were exchanged as they backed up to give the two a bit of space, pulling their friend, the one that had started the entire thing, back. It wasn't that they weren't willing to fight any more. It was that they really didn't want to get kicked out of the bar a third time in one week...
"That's it... we're all friends here. No hostility between a one of us." Mal stated, remaining in a rather defensive stance. He'd address the fact that Zero didn't just delete them later.

The elven cat-girl thing of a bartender had ducked down behind the bar as the fight started. That's where she remained. She had a book. There was a bar fight and the woman was reading a book. She looked up as the sounds of crashing seemed to stop and carefully peeked up over the counter. She decided it wasn't safe yet and ducked back down. Fair enough, she was in a good part. Seriously, if that isn't an indication of how common this kind of thing was, nothing is.
"This is why I prefer the more civilized parts of town," Zero frowned, "Are you done yet?"
This time he was addressing Malcolm. Zero glanced at the men that were still standing and let the now bloody piece of chair drop. He weaved his way closer to Malcolm, "Because if you are, maybe we should leave?"

"Yeah... yeah, I'm done. Think that'd be a mighty fine idea there. I've had enough of their... very fine water, anyway. And if these fine gentlemen here are done mocking ghosts of the past, we can be on our way." Malcolm responded, making his way for the door. Now was as good a time as any to leave.
