That had gone well. Okay, at least the part about getting Malcolm to leave. The bar... not so much. Zero wondered if it was even possible to go there without a fight breaking out. He glanced at Malcom. Maybe. If he was by himself.
He followed Mal out and held up his hand to the larger spot of blood, on his right jacket front. It was rather obvious. One didn't run around wearing white suits without blood being painfully obvious. He looked annoyed, but finally the expected distortions danced from his fingers and the blood lifted. He never understood why humans wore white. They didn't have the ability to just distort the blood away. He held his hand towards his left sleeve... he was having a bit more trouble than usual today. One would almost think he'd just taken this form. He was walking with Mal, but if the captain was being observant he'd pick up on Zero's annoyance. Especially, you know, since he hadn't seemed inclined to use those powers in the bar...

And pick up on it he did. He didn't say anything for a couple of moments, however. He had a bit of thinking to do. Over everything that had recently happened. And the fact that Zero hadn't totally deleted those punks back in the bar. I mean, he got rid of the peanuts pretty easily... and he DID seem to have to struggle to get rid of the blood. Odd. What happened to Mister "I fought on level with GODS"?
"Those gods o' yours are startin' to seem pretty weak." Mal stated, giving a light chuckle.
"Did you nearly defeat them using your dodge skills, your plank skills, or your peanut evaporatin' skills?"

The glare Zero gave Mal was.... dark. Dark is a good simple word. Also the 'verse's biggest understatement. More accurately it was along the lines of the void would have had more substance than Malcolm had Zero possessed the ability to kill with a look. He flexed his hand a bit and finally got the blood to come off his sleeve. He remained silent for a few moments, still setting new marks for how pissed a person can look.
"...I'm not at the strength I was," was how he started, his voice oh so dangerously flat, "They crap out sometimes. You spend ten billion years in the cosmic void and see if you even have a mind left, let alone all your abilities."
The way Zero was talking though... there was more to it than simply being "out of practice" as he had so delicately put it. He looked down at his hand and cracked his knuckles by making a fist. He opened it up and the digital distortions danced over his fingers like they should. It was possible he simply needed to get into some system and wreak a bit of havoc, but the timing was odd.
When the thought that he wasn't a program, that he didn't have to delete every reality had occurred to him... first time it ever had, thanks to Mal... he'd thought something about his programming had altered itself. And now he was having a bit more trouble than usual with his powers. He wished he could pass it off as something as simple as using them too much lately... but that didn't seem to cover it. He looked rather annoyed.

"Right, well, as fun as that sounds, I think I'll pass. Not a fan of falling into a void of nothingness and losing my mind. Maybe later. But hey. If what I anticipate happens really does happen, you'll get plenty of practice on those powers o' yours. Might even get to take down an army. If I'm right, which I most usually am." Jayne would have disagreed, of course. Because it would've been REALLY nice if they had some grenades, don'tcha think?
"In any case, I'm pretty curious as to where we intend on sleepin' for the night. So long as it's not some place called 'Miranda', I'm good with anything."

Zero still looked annoyed, and he quite honestly didn't hear most of what Mal said. He looked up as he heard an intonation that indicated a question and pointed towards a rather tall building in the distance. Tallest building in the city, to be specific, "There's a hotel on the island if you don't mind the risk of waking up on the roof or in a broom closet."
He went back to staring at his hand. This was problematic. He couldn't check his program to see what had changed. Even he was incapable of reading the coding that made him up. He just knew it was something, and it was effecting things. He needed a computer right now...

"Not a problem. I slept in a spaceship most of my life, some morbid and creepifying hotel can't be much of a problem. And as long as there aren't any ghosts that have a problem with ship captains, I should be just fine." Mal responded.
"You payin' again? Because I'm not entirely sure I have any Credits on me at the moment. Maybe a few Bits."

Zero sighed and shook his head as he lowered his hand. He did technically have an option, and said option was probably watching him right now, but he'd use it as a last resort. He had no doubt Susan would revel in any issues he was having.
"I can cover it, but after tonight I'm putting a freeze on that," he stated. No need to strain his abilities more than he needed to, "And if there are any ghosts, the odds would be that they are guests at the Hotel. It isn't 'haunted' from what I could tell, but the spacial distortions make some people think it is."
Which... you know... said that ghosts were real. Fun, right?

"Ah. Well then. That sounds like loads of fun. I do hope they put me in a room down the hall from one of these ghostly guests you mentioned. And the spatial distortions. Oh boy the spatial distortions. I should've brought party favors, I think. Then we could've ended the night by drinking with a few Reavers." Mal responded.
