A Garden Blitz

[kisashika]

"Seraph!" The yellow Pegasus pony followed after the small bunny. "Seraph, come back here, that whole turnip is much to big for you to eat on your own. You'll get a tummy ache." He said, trotting quickly behind the white rabbit, the bunny stopped for a second to turn towards the pony and sent him an icy glare before skirting off again and dashing into a nearby rabbit hole.

Butterscotch stopped at the hole and stuck his head in, trying to see the bunny. "S-Seraph...?" He asked, peering into the darkness. "Seraph, please come out of there snuggle bunny. Oh, I don't know what I'd do if anything bad happened to you." The timid pony pulled his head out and looked around, trying to see if she came out of another hole, and she hadn't.

It looked like he had to go in after her.

"Oh.... Oh my...." Butterscotch frowned as he wiggled into the tight space, shuffling across the ground after the white rabbit. "Seraph?" He called out, moving slowly through the hole, still no sign of his little friend. After a little while the Pegasus saw a light in front of him and let out a breath; finally, he could get out of this scary place.

He shuffled out of the hole and stood, shaking off any dirt that got on him then looked around.

This wasn't Ponyville.

Butterscotch thought for a second that the hole lead to another town, but the fauna in this garden didn't look like anything he'd ever seen in Equestria, it was so beautiful!

"Oh, wow." He marveled at the pretty flowers and slowly began to rise off the ground, floating to each individual flower to smell them. "I wonder where I am? I've never ever seen such gorgeous plants before." He continued to float around, an adorable smile on his face.

Meanwhile, back in that other Equestria, Rainbow Blitz was practicing his moves; he had a flight team to impress, after all. "Awright! Let's see if I can't do this..." As he went up, he thought, 'I haven't seen Butterscotch in a while... hope he's alright.'

He flew upward, then launched downward, attempting to do the Sonic Rainboom again... And just before he reached the point where he broke the sound cone, he saw a rift open in front of him. "Aw, buck!" He tried to stop himself and get out of the way... but to no avail, he was sucked in. He tried to stop himself before he hit anything, but he slammed into a bench and flipped over, landing hard on his back with a cough. "Oof!" He coughed a bit, having had the wind knocked out of him. "Ungh... What hit me?"

The sudden loud noises from the other pony crashing startled Butterscotch so much he shouted and shot up into the air before falling back down onto his bottom. "AAHH!" The Pegasus covered his face with his hooves, shaking like a leaf on a tree. "Oh dear, oh my, oh dear, oh my...." Butterscotch repeated until he slowly peeked out from under his hooves.

"R-Rainbow Blitz....?" He stuttered before getting up on shaky legs. "Oh no!" He gasped and quickly ran over to his grounded friend. "Rainbow Blitz! Are you okay?" Butterscotch walked around his friend, trying to check for any injuries, sounding extremely worried.

He coughed a few times, then slowly stood up. He said, his normally kinda growly voice more airy sounding. "I think I'm alright... just got the wind knocked outta me." He then put on of his forelegs around Butterscotch's shoulder. "Where've ya been, 'Scotch? I hadn't seen ya in a few days and I was starting to wonder."

"Oh, I'm so glad you're alright, Rainbow Blitz, I don't know what I would have done if you were hurt." The yellow Colt hugged back, a lot gentler than the other, though. "Actually, I do know, I'd help you, but still." Another gentle squeeze before he let go.

A few.... Days? But he'd only been in this garden for a few minutes, or maybe he'd been so engrossed in the beautiful flora he'd lost track of time? Because Rainbow Blitz wouldn't lie to him, this was so confusing, Butterscotch didn't know what was going on. He tilted his head, frowning a bit. "What do you mean? And I'm so sorry that I worried you, I know sometimes I can do that without knowing it...." He began to ramble, looking down at the ground, kicking at it, avoiding eye contact as he continued talking.

"D-did you come all this way looking for me?" Butterscotch asked quietly, tilting his head down.

Blitz quirked his head, his brow furrowed in confusion. "I hadn't seen you in a few days; like, right after those filly-fakers went back to their world. You disappeared on me. I know I don't usually see ya every day, but it had been about half a week and I was starting to worry you'd locked yourself up at your house."

He then ruffled Butterscotch's mane with a hoof. "Don't worry 'bout it, 'Scotch, it's alright." He then averted his face, blushing slightly in embarrassment. "...No, I didn't come here looking for you... I was brought here through this weird... I don't even know. It was a happy accident." He felt some shame about not looking for Butterscotch sooner; he thought to himself, 'Solaris above, some Element of Loyalty I am... I should've started looking for him a few days after, not half a week.'

"W-well, that's good then, I suppose. A-about the accident, I mean, not about you falling." Butterscotch laughed a bit when Blitz ruffled his mane, blushing slightly. It was nice seeing his friend again, even though he'd just seen him not too long before coming to this strange new place- but for some reason it had been longer for Rainbow, which was odd.

"Huh? Filly... Fakers?" Now he was all confused again. "What are you talking about, Rainbow Blitz?" The yellow colt stood up straight. "Their world? I'm sorry if I don't know what you mean...." He looked away from the other Pegasus, not understanding what he was talking about.

Rainbow Blitz was just as confused. "...Okay, now I'm really confused. I'm talkin' about those other six ponies... Dusk said that they were from a... Parallel Universe or somethin' like that... where everypony who was male in our world... was female in theirs. They were us from that world."

He huffed and muttered, _{"That filly-faker's still probably laughing it up that she bucked my eye."} Though it was barely noticeable now, he still had some bruising around his left eye. He then said, his voice regaining some of it's normal growl, "Anyway, I'm confused, 'cause you were head over hooves for your counterpart... Fluttershy or somethin' like that." He then barked a laugh. "'Least you weren't as crazy about it as 'Lucy was with his."

"Female.... Us.... Fluttershy?" He had been gone longer than a few minutes for all that stuff to happen, which made this all the more confusing. "Rainbow, I don't think I understand.... Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about." His apology was quiet. Oh, if only Dusk Shine were here, he'd be able to explain what was going on.

"But I don't remember filly versions of us." He admitted, honestly. Though, Fluttershy was a very pretty name for a girl version of himself, but he was unsure about the 'head over hooves' thing. "Oh gosh...." Maybe somehow.... This was Rainbow Blitz from the future? No, that was too silly, and not possible. Was it? Blitz did say that he was gone for almost a week.

Butterscotch sat down on the ground and stared at it, blushing out of embarrassment. Maybe he'd somehow forgotten about this encounter with the filly versions? That was more likely, but there were six! Maybe Blitz was playing a joke on him? Sometimes him and Bubble Berry did that, but they weren't ever mean jokes. Butterscotch started to curl in on himself, becoming more and more confused, and let out a quiet whine.

"Rainbow Blitz, I don't know what is going on." He looked as if he were about to cry.

Blitz internally grimaced a little. He hated being touchy-feely... but his bud needed him. He sat down next to Butterscotch and hugged him. "Hey, hey... it's alright. I don't have any clue what's going on either. ...Wish the Egghead was here; he'd know." He sighed and patted Butterscotch's back a little. "It'll be alright. We'll figure this out... somehow."

Blitz stood back up. "Feel a little better, bud? C'mon... let's get going; we're not gonna figure this mess out by just staying here. There's gotta be somepony around here who knows what's going on. Maybe Dusk is here, too, I don't know."

With the reassurance from his friend, Butterscotch stood up with a small smile- he did feel better. A lot better actually. He walked along side the other Pegasus then reached over and gave him a quick hug. "Thank you, Rainbow Blitz."

Then he looked around, still wondering where they were. "This place is kind of different from Equestria. But it's still really pretty." He quietly hoped they did run into Dusk Shine, though. Dusk Shine knew everything and he would probably know what happened. "Where do you think we would run into another pony? No ponyelse seems to be in this garden.... Besides us, I mean." A small laugh.

He chuckled at his friend's hug. "Not a problem, 'Scotch. You know I've got your back." He then thought for a minute. "Y'know... I got no clue. Gimme a minute." He flew straight up and looked around. "There are a lot of buildings this way... kinda like in Manehattan or Stalliongrad... places like that..." He shuddered a little. "Nah, I don't think so."

He then turned and looked the other way. "There's a whole bunch of trees this way... kinda makes me think of Everfree. ...Hey, I can see a house; there's some smoke coming from a chimney... looks like there's somepony moving around outside, too... might be a good place to start."

"Really?" Butterscotch asked then flew up with Rainbow Blitz, looking where the other pointed out. "Oh, yes, I see it. B-but are you sure we should go? The forest does look really scary...." Butterscotch shuddered a bit when Blitz mentioned the Everfree forest- so many bad memories there. "And what it the owner of the house doesn't like guests?" He fluttered a bit closer to the other pony. "Or what if a dragon lives there?" So many thoughts were streaming through the Pegasus' mind, making him more and more scared about going.

"I-I don't know, Rainbow...."

Blitz put a hoof on Butterscotch's shoulder. "Don't you worry any about a dragon; if there is one, I'll kick it 'till it runs off! And even if the house's owner doesn't like guests, I doubt they wouldn't give us some directions or advice."

Then, Blitz's stomach growled loudly; he had been spending most of his day working on his tricks, so he hadn't eaten much at all. His face flushed, making him look almost purple. "...Hopefully they'd at least be nice enough to spare some food, though; I'm starving!"

Butterscotch smiled, Rainbow Blitz was always the bravest colt. Well, him and Applejack. And Dusk Shine and Bubble Berry, and even Elusive! They were all the most bravest colts he ever knew and he was so thankful they were his friends. Just being around them sometimes made him feel brave, and he wasn't anywhere near brave.

"A-alright...." He still sounded a bit unsure, but as long as Blitz was there with him, Butterscotch could go. Then the cobalt Pegasus said he was hungry. Oh, shoot, if only he hadn't dropped his satchel to climb through that hole. Because Butterscotch had to admit, he hadn't eaten that day either- he always made sure the little animals ate before he even though about breakfast. "W-well, should we go now?"
