"Dammit Jayne. You've TERRIFIED the poor boy. And he looks like he's been through a lot already!" Mal berated, releasing the man, yet standing between he and Makoto.
"What? Frightened? I shot a GUN in front of the woman from before and you don't hear HER cryin'!" Jayne responded, frowning.
"...what woman from before, Jayne?" Malcolm asked, quirking a brow.
And then Jayne, in exquisite detail... well, exquisite for HIM, explained about the events from before. About going to the bar, walking to the back, finding Yi-Min, River, and Yoshi. While he DIDN'T know the other two's names, he was at least able to describe them.
"...wait, so you... not only found the two men that DID this to me... you also found River?"
"Well, yeah."
"Why you just now tellin' me, Jayne?"
"Didn't think it was important..."
--
"Ah, your ribs. Right, sorry. Now, if I'm correct in my assumption, I'd say the best thing for you would be..." Simon began, looking through a desk drawer for a moment, "This brace. It should provide ample support until you heal."

Makoto didn't move much as Jayne went into his explanation. As Mal had put it, Makoto was indeed terrified of Jayne. But it wasn't for his actions at the moment, and in all technicality he was terrified of Mal too. But more of Jayne, because Jayne had tried to kill Simon. And if Jayne knew he knew that, which wasn't impossible, he might try to kill him. The two men's debate seemed to scare him more, but he did have the sense to note they were distracted.
The teenager hadn't even realized he was hooked up to several machines at the moment. The hospital staff had put him on some fluids due to his condition. In a normal hospital it was unlikely either Mal or Jayne would have been allowed to stay in the room, but they were rather busy from Mal's group alone. That and they didn't really keep that close of an eye. In any case, Makoto noticed he had a tube in his wrist only when he began to fiddle with the side of the bed. He stopped to look at them, but would go back to flinching and cowering the instant either Mal or Jayne turned their focus back to him. He'd tighten up and cower even more if either approached him. And if Jayne tried to touch him... well, he was frail but he'd try to fight. Probably wouldn't go very well.
----------
Zero said nothing as Simon indicated the brace. This was... deameaning. Very demeaning. He was at the mercy of a human. And without warning he began to chuckle. It was slight, due to the pain, but was of Zero's brand of dark and psychotic. Simon would have no way of knowing what was going on in the white haired man's mind, so he would be fair to assume something was very wrong with Zero. In truth, Zero was thinking about if the gods could see him now. They'd crush him. Problem solved on account of those men with the blue gloves and Mal's interference. Arceus damn it.

"Look," Mal began, looking between Jayne and Makoto, "I'm going to go check on Simon and Zero, see how that situation's goin'. Jayne, stay here and make sure Makoto's safe. Way Simon tells it, Alliance is after them. And I ain't lettin' any of MY crew get taken in. You see anyone suspicious, just... shoot 'em."
"Just shoot 'em?"
"Y'know, politely." Malcolm finished, exiting the room. In retrospect, leaving Jayne, ARMED WITH VERA, alone with Makoto, was perhaps NOT the best idea Mal had ever had. But hey, retrospect was for yellow bellies.
In any case, Jayne slowly turned to Makoto, remaining silent for a moment, expressionless. When he finally spoke up, it sounded slightly clipped.
"...well, howdy." Jayne stated, giving a... rather Jayne-ish smile.
--
Down the hall, Mal had finally made it to Zero's room, where Simon was. First thing he noticed was that Mr. "No doctor can help me" was wearing what appeared to be a brace.
"Aww. Did you have a bonding moment while I was gone?" Mal asked, chuckling.

Makoto lifted his head in something resembling anticipation when Mal mentioned Simon's name. For half a second there, he seemed almsot normal. It was only for half a second though, because he winced and tried to make himself smaller as Mal told Jayne to keep him safe. Why would the man that had tried to kill Simon keep him safe? He didn't like Jayne. He didn't like the large gun thing Jayne kept. He didn't want to be left alone with Jayne. However, he only whimpered and hid his head more as Mal walked out.
The underweight teenager made a point of not looking at Jayne as he turned. He jerked himself away and grabbed his head, the pose something like someone with a migraine might have. He pulled his legs close and shivered pretty severely. When Jayne tried to speak, Makoto whimpered a bit more and tried to make himself even smaller.
"Simon...."
It was more than possible Jayne didn't hear him.
----------
Zero shot the man a death glare and lifted his wrist. He wanted to make sure Mal could see the stitches. He did seem to be moving a slight bit better. It was due to the added support. His shirt and jacket remained where he had dropped them on the floor. The bit of blood on the right cuff of his jacket sleeve was concealed by the shirt. The bit of blood on the cuff of the shirt was just visible, but one would almost have to look for it.
"I blame you for this," growled Zero. Someone wasn't happy.

"Yes, well, I'm sorry for savin' your life." Mal responded, turning to Simon. He was GOING to tell him about River, but... he really didn't think he could handle it. In the same vein, it was why Simon hadn't yet told Mal about Serenity being impounded. As such, he decided to focus on a more... Simon-friendly subject. Makoto.
"Hey, doc, kid's been askin' for you since he woke up. Might wanna look into that." Mal stated.
"Thank you. If you require any more assistance, Zero, I'll be right down the hall." Simon got out before leaving the room.
The sight he was greeted to upon entering Makoto's room was... odd. There was Jayne, sitting in a chair, backwards this author might add, seeming to be trying to... tell Makoto a story?
"So there I am, surrounded by five guys. One of 'em comes at me and I give him a good right. The other tries to shoot me and I-"
"And you realize that this story's probably not age appropriate?"
"What're you talkin' about? Kid's at least sixteen."
"Well, yes, but it wouldn't even be age appropriate for ME."

Zero muttered something indecipherable under his breath. Even if Mal heard it, he wouldn't understand it. The virus had made a point of using Japanese for his expletives, and the Island didn't translate when a point was made to use a foreign language. He had broken eye contact. As much as he wanted to tell Mal he would have been fine without it, after the little incident with the slit wrist he couldn't be sure. After that he looked up at Mal again, deigning to be polite enough to allow Simon and Mal to speak.
"If you hadn't given me that little conversation in the bar, none of this would have happened," Zero stated. It really could all be traced down to that. Mal insisting he didn't have to do anything. Things were not so easily unlearned once learned, after all.
-----------
Makoto... wasn't really listening to Jayne. As such, Jayne was talking to the wall more than anything else. It wasn't that Makoto had tuned Jayne out, he was hearing every word. But his attention was focused on key words, and aside from tensing up more during a few words here or there, Makoto just seemed to be a mass of fearful anxiety. When Simon came into the room, though, half of it faded.
The teenager jerked up from the scared position he had been in. His eyes widened and Simon would realize he had fresh tears on his cheeks. He seemed... moderately happy, but definently relieved. Of course, that lasted for maybe two seconds. Because then Makoto was clearly filled with fear and worry. His words were followed by a quick and terrified glance towards Vera.
"Simon, run!"
....he hadn't whispered it. Makoto had actually spoken at not only a normal volume, but skirted a shout.

Simon had to take a pause. It wasn't the fact that Makoto had actually SCREAMED for once, so much as the fact that WHAT he screamed implied that Simon was in danger. The doctor looked around a bit. He didn't SEE any immediate threats, nor any place where a device could be hidden... had Makoto just, as Jayne would have put it, lost his shit?
"Not that I'm not happy about the breakthrough you seem to have had, but... run from what?" Simon asked, crouching to Makoto's level, looking between the teenager and Jayne. And then realization slowly came over him... Jayne! The man that had SHOT AT HIM in front of Makoto! It would've painted Jayne in a bad light in ANYONE'S eyes, so-wait, Jayne had shot at him, why had Jayne shot at him?
"It's okay, I'm sure Jayne had very good reasons for shooting at a member of his own crew," Simon said, turning a slight glare at Jayne, "Right, Jayne?"
"Be honest, I just don't like ya."
--
"Conversation in the bar? I don't see how giving you an uplifting speech can be particularly harmful, but I'm not too experienced with... 'sentient viruses'." Mal responded, crossing his arms and leaning against the door frame.
"Though, being that that's the case, sorry for having such a way with words."

Makoto had jerked his head towards Jayne and put his hands up over his face as soon as he'd finished telling Simon to run. As if he expected to be able to stop a bullet if Jayne fired it with his hands. It was a jerk reflex, if he'd thought about it he probably would have just panicked. In any case, Simon not only didn't run, but took a few more steps in. Makoto looked panicked, his eyes alone willing Simon to run even as the man crouched down and spoke. A few tears were welling up in his face. Why wasn't the man shooting him? Was he using Simon?
"Scared.... He's scared... kill you out of fear..." Makoto muttered. Jayne probably wouldn't hear him, but the words would be a bit familiar to Simon. After all, had not River said (albeit with far more confidence) that Jayne was scared they'd "find out"? Makoto was clearly still more than a bit nervous about Jayne.
----------
Zero had to stop and chastize himself here. Mal was clearly a man who liked to get a rise out of folk. And here he was playing right into it. The man had no way of knowing about the way his data was screwing up, after all. And really, blaming him was pointless. He usually had a more level head, even in his most insane moments. So he said nothing as he got off the table. He looked with disdain down at the clothes and picked up the jacket. He held it in a way to show the sleeve to Mal without touching the blood that contrasted sharply against the white fabric.
"This is my blood. That's how bad the situation is," Zero stated.
----------
Yi-Min had a flat expression as the wrap was placed around her. It was up against the tips of her armpits due to where the injury had been. Her chest would be a bit strapped down for a while. There had been a bit of an argument about using anasthetic. She had won by pointing her gun at the doctors. That girl hadn't meant to let her live. A living weapon. Although Yoshi had been an idiot, she had to agree with him. Those men were asking for the entire project to blow up in their faces by attempting to brainwash a psychic into helping them. She'd yet to see Makoto, but she had a feeling he was here. She'd destroy the device the men had given her later. Right now she had to wait for them to finish handing her wound.
----------
There was a bit of noise in the side of the makeshift hospital opposite where the rest of the group was. Yoshi had come close to severing nerves, so he'd been rushed to emergency. He was currently being operated on. This had been after the doctors had removed his top and found two daggers and a gorram garrot wire hidden on him. They didn't question it, this was the Island. There was nothing all that unusual about an assassin.
----------
River had been taken care of. Due to the condition of her attacker (not that they could know that), she hadn't been hit anywhere particularly vital. She was still unconscious, but her belly would had been taken care of and her arm stitched up. She was stable, and there wasn't even anyone keeping a close eye on her. As a matter of fact, one NPC of a doctor was headed to the room where Simon, Jayne, and Makoto were in to let the man who had brought her in know the condition of the teenage girl...

"Sir, I hope I'm not interrupting anything of great importance, but the teenage girl you brought in has been taken care of. She is still unconscious, at this moment, however her wounds are healed and she is OUT of critical condition. The other two are still, however, in the danger zone. Specifically the male, he seems to have suffered quite a bit before you brought him here. If you would like, however, you may visit the girl. As previously stated, she is not yet conscious, but if you'd like to see her for yourself..." The aforementioned doctor droned on. Jayne was about to dramatically fire Vera to get the guy to STOP TALKING SO GORRAM MUCH, when Simon spoke up.
"Pardon me, doctor, but what teenage girl are you speaking of? Jayne, what... is he talking about?" Simon asked, looking between both the doctor and Jayne.
"Some kinda brother you are, don't even know your own sister's here." Jayne responded, smirking.
"Where is she?!" Simon asked, quickly spinning back to the doctor who pointed in her room's direction. Before he could fully get the word 'room' out, Simon was dashing down the hall. River was here, this was both a good thing AND a bad thing. Good in that she wasn't with the Alliance, bad in that in the time he'd been here, Simon had begun to think that this place WAS NOT SAFE.
--
"Oh my God! You're right, this is serious!" Malcolm begin, seeming horror on his face as his eyes bulged.
"When you cut yourself you bleed! Doctors ARE tellin' the truth when they tell ya not to go carvin' on yourself like a Reaver! Call the Alliance, tell 'em they're missing out on this amazin' thing called bleeding, maybe hte'll leave some of us outer rim folk alone!" Well at least he STARTED sorta seriously...

Zero's eyes narrowed as Mal made fun of him. He opened his mouth to give him an earful when he realized... Mal didn't know he didn't bleed. The man had said earlier he didn't know anything about sentient viruses (why would he, he was the only one in his homeworld and he doubted Mal's had any) and of what Mal had seen, Zero had yet to be injured. The death glare faded to an annoyed look. He held his hand over the side of where he was at and let the shirt drop. He looked Mal straight in the eyes.
"I don't bleed. Not in the sense that humans do. This is an assumed form," Zero gestured to himself, "One that I can't even leave now. Every time I try to use my abilities, that data threatens to injure me. When I was out before, that was a result of that data. I don't bleed, but I am."
----------
Makoto had pulled his legs close after trying to tell Simon that Jayne was terribly afraid of Simon. That Jayne had tried to kill him out of fear. The message hadn't been delivered well. Before Simon could answer, another person had come in and begun to talk about three people. Makoto tucked his head into his knees and shivered as Simon asked about the girl and Jayne taunted him about his sister.
Makoto froze as Simon yelled. The teenager jerked his head up as Simon went dashing out of the room. His eyes widened to saucers and he turned towards Jayne. He looked around, seemed to consider the side of the bed for a moment, and then winced and buried his head in his legs again. Alone with this man again. If he tried to run, he'd be killed.
...really, was that such a bad thing?
----------
"Ma'am, you really should stay here overnight to recu-"
Yi-Min lifted her gun up and pointed it at the face of the doctor speaking to her. He blanced and skittered back a few feet. The Chinese woman lowered her arm and continued walking out of the room. She would be more than a bit sore for some time, but there was nothing more they could do. She stopped by the door and grabbed the personal effects. She picked up the tracking device the men with blue gloves had given her. With nothing in the way of dramatics she dropped it on the ground and smashed it with her foot, effectively destroying it. They weren't going to use their technology to track her and Kiyoshi...

"I wish we had more good Samaritans like you on this island. Maybe then we wouldn't have so much chaos, so much... death. Hurts me as a doctor to see, y'know?" Unfortunately for the overly kind and overly talkative doctor, all he got from Jayne was a glare and a growl for his effort.
"Yes, well-" Fortunately for Jayne he wouldn't have to attack the man to get him to shut up as a person Jayne couldn't see tapped the doctor on his shoulder.
"I'll take it from here... doctor." The male voice called out, sounding ominously familiar, before a hand was gently placed on the doctor's shoulder. Jayne was entering panic mode now, as mere SECONDS after the hand was placed on the doctor's shoulder, the man collapsed. On that hand... was a blue glove. In walked a familiar man wearing a familiar suit, with a familiar pair of shades on his face. The fear welling up in the pit of Jayne's stomach was... familiar.
"Kid, stay down and shut up." Jayne whispered back to Makoto, moving in front of him. Jayne wasn't thinking at the moment, so if he had to, he'd protect Makoto with his life. And then his ghost would facepalm.
"Ah, Jayne Cobb, we meet again." The man chirped, smirking.
"Wishin' I could say the same." Jayne responded, keeping Vera held before him, defensively.
"Now Jayne, haven't we learned better by now? Did you really think we wouldn't have a contingency plan if your friends saved you before you bled out?" Agent X asked, leering.
"What're you-"
"A chemical agent has been released into your blood stream, and with the press of a button, I could kill you, Jayne Cobb. Now why don't you put that silly thing away?" Agent X continued, gesturing at Vera.
"I could just shoot ya."
"You could just miss." He finished. And for a moment there, the two were locked in a seemingly eternal staring contest. Until, finally, with a grunt, Jayne tossed Vera to the floor.
"Very good. We know our situation then, don't we?" And then, he finally addressed Makoto, "Ohhh, people are looking for you..."
--
On his way to River's room, Simon passed a random Asian female. Honestly, he didn't pay much attention to her, as he was more focused on River's safety at this moment. He wheeled into her room, calling out her name as he realized, yes, she really WAS here.
"River!" He rushed in, brushing a bit of hair from her face. Still unconscious, and he didn't even want to THINK about what kind of wounds were hidden under her bandages.
"Oh, mei-mei..."
--
Before Mal could respond to Zero, something felt... odd. The air seemed to grow thick, almost. He had a growing nervousness in the pit of his soul, and he slowly began to realize it...
"Somethin's wrong." Malcolm stated to Zero, "Doctor was just goin' to check on Makoto, should've been back by now."
And then there was a gun being held to his lower back...

Makoto had jerked his head up as soon as X had entered the room. His face blanched when the doctor collapsed, and while he wasn't the most tanned teenager in the world his face was still rather dirty and the pale provided sharp contrast to it. He scooted back on the bed until his back was firmly against the headrest. As Jayne told him to stay down, he continued to try to push through the bed. Even as he tried to make himself smaller, there was the occasional shove with his feet.
Makoto was shivering rather badly when X turned to him. The teenager's first reaction was to lower his head to avoid any kind of eye contact. He winced as the man informed him people were looking for him. They'd found him. He'd told Simon that he should have just left him, but the man hadn't listened and they'd found him. Whether or not this man was with the Global Alliance at this point didn't matter. Makoto tried to say nothing, but a slight whimper escaped...
----------
Zero's eyes widened as the man stepped up behind Mal. He had begun to open his mouth and a slight bit of sound but no full word had escaped when the gun was pressed up against Mal. He then went to giving an absolute death glare to the man. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and hopped up, gritting his teeth at the bit of pain from the cracked ribs. He held out his left hand a bit to the side, his fingers wide open and his palm pointed at the man. Zero was never an idiot, and there was a chance he could put some feelers out here...
"If you don't drop that gun you won't have it anymore," warned Zero.
If he was right, the man would show no fear. After all, if this really was one of the two men he'd seen on the display attacking Mal, they'd know about that device. They'd know about the program that was ripping through his coding. They'd know that he couldn't use his abilities on anyone else, and any attempt to use any of them would threaten to shut him down. That attack ripped through his body whenever he used his abilities... he couldn't even let the data dance on his fingertips in warning. Still, he might get some answers... providing Mal didn't open his gorram mouth and wreck it, naturally.
----------
Yi-Min stopped walking when she saw Simon run past. She blinked and jerked her head towards him as he slipped into another room. Wait, that image. This was one of the two people those men had been looking for. She pulled her gun out of her holster and quickly and quietly walked up to the room the man had gone into. Carefully, ever so carefully, she peered into the room. Simon would likely be too busy looking at River to notice her, and she drew back quickly. She hadn't seem him twitch, which meant he probably hadn't seen her. And neither of those men were in there. She took in a deep breath and ran into the room, pointing the gun straight at Simon's head.
"Simon Tam, you will keep your mouth shut and do as I say or I will put a hole in your head and then in the head of your little sister. Now tell me, have you seen either a indigo haired boy or any men wearing blue gloves?"
She sounded dead serious, and she tightened her finger on the trigger of the oddly shaped gun to make her point. The gun looked to be a cross between a pistol and a phaser, not that Simon would have a clue what the hell the latter was. The "barrel" so to speak was very narrow. It was clear it fired non-standard bullets. It didn't look like any laser guns from the 'Verse, so Simon would have very little chance of realizing that's what it was... or that it was a far more reliably technology.

"Don't bring the kid in this, he ain't got nothin' to do with it." Jayne responded to X. If looks could kill, the man before him would already be dead. Unfortunately, though, he had all the cards right now. Although something suddenly hit Jayne, more important than any idle threats the man would make.
"Where's the captain?" Jayne asked, looking past Agent X. Due to Jayne's angle he couldn't see down to Zero's room, which means he didn't notice Agent Y.
"That's for me to know and you to bargain for, Jayne Cobb. Now hand over the child. I'm sure those searching for him will pay handsomely." No, that was a lie. The HoB had no need for money, if they got Makoto, they would experiment on him. But they'd be even less human than the Global Alliance, they'd rip his head open, implant thoughts in his mind, memories. They'd make him think he'd had a family, and then they'd take it away.
"No." Jayne responded. Truth be told, he couldn't back it up if he had to. After all, this guy could kill him with a button.
"Tsk. And I'd pegged you for the intellectual of your team, Jayne Cobb." This was all Agent X said before reaching into his pocket, clicking what Jayne assumed was a button.
And then Jayne Cobb felt pain. Not just any pain, however, not just 'oh my God I'm being murdered' type stuff. Imagine the worst pain anyone could ever feel EVER. Now imagine said pain being amplified tenfold and spread throughout your body. That's what Jayne felt at this moment.
"YAAAWWRGH!" The man screamed out, collapsing. He managed to stay in a mostly crouched position by placing his elbow on Makoto's bed. He heard another click as the agent removed his finger from the button, and the pain abruptly stopped. But he could still feel it, it left a lasting impression...
"That was just a mild dose, Mr. Cobb. let's try this again, shall we. Move aside and give me the boy." Agent X chirped, absolutely giddy. Unfortunately, Jayne was in so much pain right now, he WAS NOT thinking straight.
"No..." He panted, prompting the agent to push the button again. And there was that pain, bringing him off the bed and onto his side, now. Everything was beginning to look hazy, his mind beginning to go numb, shut down.
"Last chance, Jayne." Agent X said in that annoying singsong voice of his.
Jayne's response was a simple glare.
--
Malcolm didn't move, almost didn't BREATHE, as that gun was pressed to his back. And then Zero was pointing his hand at whomever was behind Mal, and it didn't take the captain long to surmise the situation. They'd stayed here too long, those men were back. Bad as the Alliance, those men.
Agent Y almost had to laugh. Did the sentient virus honestly think he was still intimidating? Agent Y knew he'd come into contact with the program, knew he couldn't use his powers right now. Agent Y was, for the most part, safe.
"And if you don't lower that hand, Captain Reynolds will get a new war wound to show off." Y responded, unflinching.
--
Simon slowly brought his hands above his head. She was asking him to give Makoto away. Not only that, the men she described reminded Simon too much of one of River's earlier rants. Two by two, hands of blue. This was a problem. He gave one last tearful glance to his sister. No, Jayne was in the room with Makoto... maybe he or the captain would be able to offer help. However, at the moment, the best he could do was to comply with the woman currently holding a gun to him.
"I'm standing up slowly now," Simon began, rising as slowly as possible so as not to make any sudden movements, "Just... don't hurt her. River's done nothing to you."
"I've... seen an indigo haired boy."

Makoto expected many things. For all the damage he'd received both physically and mentally, the boy wasn't stupid. Uneducated, yes. Stupid, no. In any case, he had a pretty good ability with the visualization given the chance, and right now his mind had tracked everything that was going to happen. Jayne was going to hand him over and get killed just because. He wouldn't tell Simon what had happened if he got the chance, better to keep Simon safe.
.....and then Jayne said no. Makoto looked completely dumbfounded, as if some train had gone off track so spectacularly in his brain he'd broken. Why... why would he do that. Makoto slowly turned his head towards the man with blue gloves just as he reached into his pocket and Jayne hit the floor. His eyes widened as Jayne threw his hand out and just... seizured. Makoto opened his mouth to beg the man to stop, but he seemed more foused on Jayne. Besides, if he really thought about it the man could just take him and kill Jayne anyhow. Promises were not something Makoto was used to being kept.
When Jayne's seizuring stopped, Makoto lifted his head again. A bit more whimpering came out and his eyes were a bit wet. He was terrified and couldn't stand to know he was in a way the cause of this. Jayne could say yes now. Even if the man killed Jayne maybe it would be quicker. He could say yes. But once again, he said no. Makoto held his head in his hands and squeezed his eyes closed as Jayne yelled some more. He shook his head as several tears ran down his face. Stop, he just wanted it to stop!
Agent X then told Jayne it was his last chance. Makoto looked at Jayne. The response was a glare. The response was going to be a no again. The response was going to get Jayne killed. Makoto's mind was running faster than a racehorse on speed, and just as X was likely about to press the button again, he made a snap decision.
Suddenly the device flew out of Agent X's pocket with such force and speed that if he'd tried to stop it as it moved, he'd actually have a slight friction burn. The device didn't stop flying once it was out of the pocket, but instead shot towards the ceiling as if some minor league pitcher hand thrown the sucker. It smashed into the ceiling and broke into about a dozen tiny pieces, which fell thanks to gravity onto the floor in a series of plastic on plastic clicks. Makoto suddenly felt extremely dizzy and even while sitting down collapsed to his side, panting heavily. He was still extremely weak... and now probably very dead, at least as far as he was concerned.
----------
"Do you think I give a damn?" Zero took a step towards Y and Mal. His open palm was still to his side. He brought his hand together to crack his knuckles and then spread it wide again, "He's human, he's fragile. So are you. It's merely convenient to keep him alive, but if I must I'll let him die. Now put the gun down."
It was, technically, a bluff. Technically. It sure didn't seem like one. Because for all the recent changes, Zero still considered himself superior to humans. The loss of one human? In the case of this one, it would be irritating, but Zero wouldn't brood over it for long. Besides, the annoying mortal with a gun to his back had been the one to initially screw up his coding. The man hadn't given any sign to knowing about Zero. So he had to keep pushing it. He hadn't broken his gaze from Y's eyes yet.
----------
Yi-Min read Simon's body language as he spoke. He was being honest. She kept an eye on him and the area around him, the latter with her peripheal vision. If he tried to reach for anything, to turn the situation around, she'd shoot him. In that case it wouldn't be lethal. Just enough to let him know she wasn't kidding. Her flat and unreadable expression didn't change as Simon said his sister had done nothing to her. Not true, but also not the point. Her expression didn't shift as he told her she'd seen the boy.
"What condition was he in?" she asked. Important to know, would help with confirmation, and it could even give her an idea how long he'd been on the Island.

No matter how hazy things were getting, Jayne saw that. That was a definite, he'd seen it. What was a bit more fuzzy, however, was exactly WHAT it was he'd seen. He'd seen the button fly from the agent's pocket and then... hit the ceiling? And it was going so FAST, too. Directly afterward, Jayne looked up and noticed Makoto collapse to his side. These two had to be related... somehow, the man assumed. However, Jayne was never one to look a gift horse in the mouse, and this was definitely a gift. No more button, thank goodness.
However, if he was going to do anything, he'd have to do so quickly. The man's shades had slipped from his eyes a bit due to sheer SHOCK, and a rapid head motion he'd made as the device had whizzed from his pocket. And he was PISSED, and rushing towards Makoto. Jayne summoned all the remaining strength he had, rolled to grab Vera, and emptied an entire clip in the agent's chest. The man paused for a moment...
...and then turned to Jayne.
"I am, however, wearing full body armor. I am not an idiot." Agent X said simply, putting both hands around Jayne Cobb's throat, forcing him to a wall. He wanted to kill the man, really he did. However, Jayne Cobb was still the hero of Canton, the man they called Jayne. Wearing full body armor? There was only one way to fix that.
Jayne socked him a right that forced the man into the hall, stumbling. Jayne was about to follow, until the man pushed a device on his belt, falling... through the floor? Odd.

Agent Y paused for a moment. A long moment. Zero was being pretty convincing if it WAS a bluff. And if it wasn't, well... he liked that gun. He supposed he could humor the virus for a bit.
"Fine. I'll humor you." Agent Y stated, holstering his gun. Malcolm noticeably relaxed...
Until what felt like four fingers were forced into a part of his lower back, and twisted.
"However, Captain Reynolds isn't going anywhere." Agent Y finished, with a smirk. And indeed, Mal wasn't moving, staying on one place, merely his eyes looking around the room...

"He was... malnourished. He seemed to have been beaten, and he was dirty. Upon reaching this... place, he injured one of his hands and one of his wrists. Those I took care of with the resources I had on hand, bracing them. If this area's hospital works like the ones where I come from, he should be hooked to an IV currently." Simon responded, keeping his hands up, staring straight.
