"Woooooow, man. When they're calling it the 'El Grande Mall,' they ain't kidding!"
Thoroughly impressed, Gabe trapised through the mall's lower level, whistling a random tune from Final Fanatsy. Tycho was a fair ways behind him, obviously a bit cautious about being associated with the overly-excited adventure-goer.
"That's French, right?" he continued that train of thought sometime later, pursing his lips. "Elllll gr-r-r-ran-day. Yeah, sounds like it." He glanced back at Tycho. "So, you said this place seels weapons?"

Tycho rolled his eyes at Gabe as he trailed behind, silently hoping they wouldn't run into anyone they knew.
"I believe that's Spanish, Gabriel." He stated, trying to not look paranoid as they scoured the lower floor for an information booth, hopefully one would have a map of the town. "And, I think it does. Somewhere.... Maybe on one of the higher floors. Not entirely positive, though."
Not too far from Gabe and Tycho stood two other Islanders, bickering, quite loudly, about something.
"Nonono, you see, Arby, purple would match the carpet better than orange. Really, the carpet is GREEN." A tall man with red and black hair stated, arms folded.
"But orange compliments green better than purple." An even taller.... Lizard man said, his double jaw closing into a deep frown. "You just don't like orange."
"The curtains don't come in ORANGE!"

Gabe investigated a nearby directory for longer than was probably deemed necessary. He was mildly distracted by the gaming shops and the ARCADE UNF--he shook his head. Later, Gabriel, later. Like... that'll be a sidequest. Or something.
Finally, he deemed Tycho's assmuption to be correct. "Ohp, there we go! There's a place called "The Armory" on the second floor, west wing. That sounds about right!"
He then looked up towards the bickering couple, having caught their conversation. "Um, actually, the compliment to green is red," he decided to naturally butt in. "I'm an artist, I should know."

Shackles stopped mid-finger waggle when Gabe spoke up. "Red. I like red...." His face broke into a huge grin and Thel rolled his eyes looking over at the other two men.
"I said red for the couch, but you had to go with brown. So, what, it's not the best color ever anymore?" He said sarcastically to his room mate. "You need to learn how to make up your mind, Ashikase."
"Shackles." The other corrected with a pout. "Red it is, then." He stuck his tongue out at the alien, childishly then gave Gabe a quick thumbs up. "Thanks, dude."
Tycho made a strange face at the men; the tall guy seemed.... Off. But the alien.... Tycho couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he'd seen the alien somewhere before. He nudged Gabe with an elbow and pointed at Thel. "Hey, is it just dejavu, or do we know that guy?"

Gabe blinked for a moment or two, looking the lizard-guy up and down a few times. He hadn't even seemed to notice how alien he looked at first; he had already grown accostumed to it in this world.
That, and it had been a while since he'd played Halo--
Gabe's face instantly lit up in delayed realization. "...OH YEAH. HOLY CRAP." He rushed up to Thel as if he was a Hollywood celebrity, shaking his massive claw. "Duuuuude, BIG fan!"

Thel was taken aback for a moment when Gabe came up on him. "Fan... Wort?" Thel was positive he'd never seen this man before and just stared at him for a minute, unaware of his Sanheili slip of tounge. Shackles went into a fit of hysterical laughter at his room mate's reaction to the situation.
After Gabe ran away, Tycho snatched up a map of the town, and followed him across the way. When the alien spoke again, Tycho recognized the language and remembered. "Holy crap, it's Arbiter." He ran up next to Gabe to get a better look.
Thel looked thoroughly confused at this point and Shackles may as well been rolling on the floor. "Arbiter? I haven't been called that in ages. How did you know my military name?"

"Um, DUH," Gabe pouted, as if the answer was so flippin' obvious. "You're only the best character in one of the most popular gaming series out there. I mean, come ON."
He'd never admit he had a soft spot for Thel. More often than not, when playing the game, Tycho would get first pick (or threaten his life, THEN get first pick), and take Master Chief all for himself, leaving Gabe with Thel. The day he actually one with him was a glorious day indeed.
"Soooo are you on an adventure too?" he excitedly asked, his gaze drifting to the store they were in front of. "...to obtain curtains?"

"So THAT'S where you're from!" Shackles said, poking Thel in the chest, grinning from ear to ear. "That's so cool! A video game!"
Thel just frowned, to him, his universe was not a video game, but reality. Video games from his universe were non-existent or Mario, and in that case, it was history. So he took Shackles' joking as an insult. "Well, I still say you're just some fantasy made up by a desperate teenage girl and her best friend." He shot back.
Shackles paused for a second, thinking it over. "You're probably right. But, still, AWESOME."
Tycho has hesitated telling Thel, until Gabe beat him to it, then he sighed. The universe was still in tact, good. "Agreed, this adventure is so much more badass now." He was actually considering handing over the watch now instead of three days from now.
When Gabe spoke again, Thel looked down at him(noting that Thel is at least seven foot tall). "Curtains, yes. Adventure, no." He folded his arms. "You see, tall, dark, and stupid over here" He motioned towards Shackles, who just pouted, and continued. "Felt a need to redecorate our apartment. With fire."
"I said I was sorry." He said.
"Anyway, so now we have to refurnish." Tycho elbowed Gabe in the side and leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"Hey, they live here, what do you say we convince them to... Join our party?"

Gabe frowned. "No adventure, huh? Damn. Well, I guess even heroes need a break every so often."
He winced, cut off from his train of thought. "Ouch. Dude, you know that hurts, right?" Gabe snapped at Tycho's constant elbowing. His glare waned, however, when he heard the suggestion. He grinned cheesily, nodded, winked, and turned back to Thel and Shackles.
"Well, hey! If you're not too busy, WE'RE on an adventure! We came here to stock up on weapons. Wanna join our party?"

The most Shackles heard from the question was "Adventure" and "Party". He broke into another grin.
"Oh yeah, totally, YES. As long as I get to use my flamethrower."
"Too bad I locked it up." Thel said, inspecting his fingertips with a smirk. Shackles grin faded away to a scowl.
"Jerk."
"But, out of curiosity, what is the objective of your adventure?" The alien asked, getting a bit more serious. It had been a good while since he'd actually done some adventuring or had something exciting happen. He wasn't quite used to the "leisurely" life, even though his only friend made it interesting.
Tycho raised an eyebrow, not really sure if there was a point to their expedition. "At first it was to get here, get weapons, a map, and someone to give us a quest to go on."

Gabe grew excited at Shackles' eagerness. The more the merrier!
His big grin only faltered a little when Thel brought up the purpose of their venture. To be perfectly honest, he hadn't really thought that far ahead. From his experience, usually the purpose of a journay just fell into the hero's lap when they went out, like, to fetch goats or something. Fate had a funny way of cutting in like that. He figured they'd just get started easy, go with the flow, and fate would go through the same deal here.
Before Gabe could form any of these thoughts into intelligable words, Tycho cut in for him, much to his relief. All this thinking was making his head hurt. "...yeah! What he said!"

"So, would you two happen to know where we could acquire weapons and a quest?" Tycho asked, he felt like a kid with an overactive imagination.
Shackles nodded. "Sure thing! We can show you where the arms store is." He directed to himself and Thel, who was shaking his head no. Not like he had much of a choice, though. Then he grinned. "And I'm sure we can give you some kind of quest. Something low level, seeing as your new and all."
"They're not playing a game, Ashikase." Thel scolded, Shackles just waved it off. "But, you two are new to Dimensional Island." He stated the obvious. "I suppose we can let you stay at our home until you find your own here."
Tycho stayed quiet for a moment, thinking the offer over.

"Hey, that's EXACTLY what we're looking for!" Gabe nodded eagerly, hopping from one foot to the other like a mad little child hopped up on sugar. "Please let it not be something stupid like catching a runaway cat or something. I have... bad experiences with cats that aren't too fat to move."
He blinked again at Thel's offer. He considered the offer as well, though didn't take as long a process as perhaps Tycho's, though his expression when through an interesting transformation.
Sleeping in before starting their journey. Not glorious, but still pretty sweet. A small smirk.
Staying at the home with a legendary hero from Halo. A full-on grin.
Staying at this home with Tycho as his bunkmate. Ear-to-ear.
"SHIT YES," he then rapidly agreed, nodding excitedly.

Before he could finish going over the pros and cons, Gabe jumped in. Tycho sent him a sideways glare, there wasn't a reason in trying to tell him no at this point, he already gave Gabe an inch, and Tycho had to follow through the whole mile. If only to keep him out of trouble.
"..... I guess we don't have much of a choice. So, thank you for your hospitality." Tycho said. "But, before we go to the store, I need to stop at an ATM, to see if my card works here."
"It should, but if you want to be sure." Shackles pointed across the way. "There's an ATM machine over there."
Thel snorted. "That's redundant." Tycho muttered a quiet 'thanks' and went over to the machine, leaving the others alone.

SWEET. Tycho wasn't objecting. Then again, that never stopped Gabe, but it didn't hurt for them to agree on SOMEthing.
He watched his buddy step aside, feeling terribly anxious all of the sudden. Geex, why the sudden moodswing? Maybe it was... he was excited to get this venture started! Yeah! That was it! Totally natural.
And it had nothing to do with the fact that Tycho had, albeit very breifly, left him alone to attend to his business. Gabe wasn't THAT clingy. Sheesh.
"SO." He got out a syllable in a bit more squeaky of a voice than he would've liked. "What kinda quest are we talking about here?" He felt his own face burning in a very slight blush. Stupid face.
