As the sun's rays peaked through bits of open clouds in the sky, many different people scattered along through the city. Some going to their jobs, some heading home from their jobs- and still others just running around for virtually no known reason. Among them was a small white candle-person, or an Ignewax, who seemed a bit wary of the clouds above.
"It better not rain today..." he quivered. "I haven's even found a job yet!"

A small, white unicorn slowly walks along the strange street, very curious but also very worried. She pulls her cape out of her saddlebag and puts it on, glancing around at the stores and the other people.
"Where am I? How did I get here?" She thinks for a bit, then frowns slightly. "I hope this won't make me late for school..."

Not surprisingly, a portal opened up high in the sky- a collection of snow falling with whoever fell into it. There's no telling how long he spent inside that warp, but it was obvious he wasn't quite wide awake.
At least, not until he saw the ground.
"What the-?!" he squeaked, a pair of blue lights errupting from his back- soon they became wings, and his contact with the ground soon afterward allowed him to propell upwards- toward the direction he had come from. "I don't know how I got here," he huffed. "But I know my home's i danger! Let me back in!"
before he could even think about touching the portal again, it shrunk into nothingness- and all he passed through was air. "What-?!" Now heart broken, he fluttered back to the earth- his wings shaping back into small white nubs once he made contact. Placing his hands on the snow that accompanied him, he started to tear up. "No..."
By now, just for reference, the Ignewax was long gone- scared off by the fallen snow.

She looked up, surprised at the portal. She gasped, seeing the figure come out of it and appear to grow wings.
As soon as he touched the ground for the second time, she rushed over, her eyes wide with excitement.
"Are you the pegasus in charge of weather here?" Her voice squeaked a bit, but she didn't seem to notice, looking around at the snow. Though she did eventually bring her gaze to him, confused by how different he looked from any pony she knew.

His gaze quickly moved to her, then looked back at the ground. "I'm not a pegusu, or whatever you said," he mumbled. "I've never even heard of such a thing."
It was hard on him- he knew he had to return to his home, but... He needed answers. Picking himself up from the ground, tha small individual left for an unknown destination. Though, he was just walking for now.

The young pony was lost. On one hoof, she could try to help the stranger. On the other, she could try to find her own way around. Of course, there's safety in numbers, and he didn't seem like he'd hurt her...
She quickly trot up next to him, smiling softly. "My name is Sweetie Belle. What's yours?"

At first he seemed to just ignore her- continuing toward wherever he was going. He paid no mind to her question, however...
"...is there a reason why you're following me?" he asked, a scornful tone in his voice.

Sweetie flinched slightly at his tone, but she continues to stay next to him. She did scoot a bit away, though, nervous.
"I was just hoping that we could help each other." She looked around, her concerns from before coming back. "I don't know any pony, and honestly...I just want to go home..." She bowed her head, thinking about her friends and family, and how worried they must be.

He silently looked at her, grumbling just a little bit. "Wanna go home, huh...?" his face became saddened thinking about it. "...at least you might still have a home... My home may be in some kind of peril, and I'm not even there to help out on the frontlines!"
His fist clenched tightly, tears strobing down his pure white face. when they hit the ground, they glittered a dull white, appearing to be watered down milk at first glance. "Just... leave me be. I don't know, or really care who you are at this point. Just leave me alone."

She sat down, looking at him. She gently pressed her nose against his arm, concerned. However, she wanted to respect his request.
"I hope you get home safe, sir..." She turned and walked away, wandering off along the strange street in hopes of a way home.

When she began to walk away, he sighed. "I guess it's just the hero in me," he chuckled, looking back at her. he raised up his arm- which immediately began to glow red. Soon after, a large, elongated hand reached over and grabbed hold of the small pony, softly pulling her back. "Hey now, I understand I was being hard," he joked, smiling when he finally put her back, face to face with him. "but that's no reason to leave a new friend behind.
"After all... what's life without someone to back you up while you're away from home?" he smiled, his arm turning back to its original state.

She was beyond surprised when he grabbed her and brought her back, but her surprise was soon doubled when she heard him say friend.
"...you think of me...as a friend?" She looked down, then back up at him, beaming. She happily hugged him, giggling. "Thank you so much!"
She sat back down in front of him, curious, smiling softly. "You know...you never did tell me your name."

He put his hands on his waist and smiled smugly. "The name's Tyler. But you're free to call me Ty!" Extending his hand, he chuckled a bit. "Nice to formally meet ya, miss Belle." After being so rude, why wouldn't he be polite to the young lady? He was an adult, after all.

Had either been listening, they might have heard the soft sounds of sobbing not but a block or two away. Sobbing...and the occasional woof?
Floating aimlessly around the plaza was what looked like some furry green ghost. Upon closer inspection, one might have noticed she had a young teenage girl's face and long hair, but the general shape of her head looked more akin to a canine without the snout. Right now, this being was feeling utterly lost and helpless. She'd already failed to do any good for her still living friends. And now that she couldn't find her way back to her session anymore, she felt certain she wouldn't get that chance again.

She giggled at him, placing a hoof in his hand and gently shaking it. Or let it be shook, if you want to get technical. "Likewise, Ty!"
She blinked, tilting her head a bit to the side, her ear tilting a bit to listen better. "...Ty? Do you hear that?" She glanced around, wondering if she was starting to hear things.
It almost sounded like...crying.
